At the departure drinking spot for the Hokkaido pilgrimage in 2020, I stopped by Seicomart again just before heading out to buy some snacks for my evening drink. When you see something at a convenience store that you've never seen before, it makes your heart leap with excitement. And if you touch it and are surprised, you end up buying it! The rice ball was warm... Come to think of it, it's not just bento boxes that Hot Chef makes, but also rice balls. That's why the rice ball was warm and I thought it would be delicious. So I bought one. Bacon and okaka. This combination is also new to me. The saltiness and oiliness of the bacon, combined with the salty flavor of the soy sauce in the okaka, was exquisite. The warm rice was delicious too. I devoured it in no time, but just like the rice balls I bought at Ami-san in Sendai, the homemade rice balls at Seicomart are truly delicious. If you want to experience this, I recommend the rice balls at Seicomart.

This place is convenient♪ Even though the portions are small, you can buy them for about 100 yen each, which is handy when you just want a little snack or want to try a few different things. I especially like the cold noodles in a cup from this store, and I absolutely love their ramen, which I eat a lot of from spring to autumn. I also enjoy their cheap natto rolls when I feel like having a small snack. However, buying several items for about 100 yen each can add up in the end. But getting a variety of vegetables and other foods for around 500 yen is quite affordable. It would be convenient to have food in small portions when you have no appetite. In those times, this store is just right for me. I purchased a cup of ramen, natto rolls, salad, and stick chicken, and ended up eating everything.

5/17 22:30 Visited for a late-night snack. Unfortunately, Hot Chef was sold out so I decided to head back and get some rest. The restaurant is located behind APA Hotel.

Around 19:30 on June 29th (Wednesday). It's fun to go to a supermarket in a new place because you can buy local items at reasonable prices. I chose a colorful and fresh vegetable salad and Hokkaido milk for breakfast. The salad has a variety of vegetables and even the next morning, it has a good crunch and comes with dressing, all at a surprisingly low price. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of the taste of milk, so I don't drink it as is, instead I mix it with portioned coffee and was able to enjoy it as usual. I was intrigued by the melon soft serve ice cream with red melon flesh that was advertised outside the store. Without hesitation, I bought it. By the time I returned to the hotel, it had melted just right, with a smooth texture and a fruity taste of red melon flesh, while the cone was crispy and delicious. There are stairs at the entrance, so it's not wheelchair accessible, but the store itself felt like a small-scale supermarket where I could shop comfortably.

I bought cup ramen at Seicomart. This time, I got the clam and soy sauce ramen, which uses scallop broth from Hokkaido. The taste of clam broth and savory soy sauce is good. The ingredients are very simple, but considering the price, it's not bad.

There is a Seiko Mart near the tram stop at Nishi 8-chome. When I come to Hokkaido, I always feel like going into a local convenience store. Seiko Mart has various private label products, but I was recommended this sweet red bean and butter dorayaki by a local. The butter flavor goes well with the sweet red bean filling. It's so delicious. Who cares about the calories... (laughs).

I bought some mountain wasabi flavored items for my late-night snacks, including mountain wasabi salt ramen, hand-rolled mountain wasabi soy sauce onigiri, and Japanese-style pork yakisoba with mountain wasabi. I wish the onigiri had a bit more mountain wasabi flavor. The salt ramen made me choke a bit when slurping, but I really enjoyed the taste. Surprisingly, my favorite was the yakisoba. It had a mild sweetness and the noodles were soft, but the deliciousness was addicting. At only 110 yen each, they are affordable and easy to eat, so I could easily have 3-4 of them. Excellent.
