About a 10-minute walk from Harajuku Station. This shop is only open on Wednesdays, and I finally managed to come after making a reservation in advance. Today, I ordered the Special Curry Plate with three different curries for 2500 yen, and a Chigasaki Pacific Lager beer for 900 yen. Each curry on the plate had a unique and distinctive flavor. - Cold Bonito Curry: A cold curry with bonito tataki and eggplant. I was skeptical about the combination of bonito and curry, but it surprisingly matched well. The curry had a refreshing effect, making it perfect for a hot day and stimulating my appetite. - Sichuan Pepper Chicken Keema: This curry had chunks of chicken keema with just the right amount of Sichuan pepper, and it was incredibly delicious. - Raw Mozuku Curry: This curry had a strong sour taste due to the raw mo-oku, but when mixed with the other curries, it was exquisite. The basmati rice and various side dishes were plentiful, and I left feeling fully satisfied. The curries made with seasonal ingredients provided new discoveries, and I would like to visit regularly. I wish they were open on weekends too. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Thank you for the meal. I am full.

This restaurant is a curry shop that only opens on Wednesdays, located a little away from Harajuku Station. I had been thinking of going there someday since it has a very high rating (3.82), but I happened to be in the area on a Wednesday afternoon, so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant was located on the third floor, up a unique building with stacked blocks like exterior stairs. Luckily, there was seating available at the counter, so I was able to sit without waiting. Looking at the stylishly designed menu, the lineup for the day included Chilled Bonito Curry, Adult Butter Chicken, and Eggplant Sambar, which cost 2,500 yen for a special curry plate with all three, or 1,900 yen for a two dish platter of Chilled Bonito Curry and Eggplant Sambar that I ordered. The Chilled Bonito Curry was made with plenty of green onions and Odawara Bonito pickles. It had a Japanese taste, more like a chilled soup with curry flavor from Bonito pickles, and it was really delicious. I couldn't figure out what kind of spices or seasonings were used, but there was probably soy sauce in it. The Eggplant Sambar contained plenty of vegetables like those from Hayama, and being animal-free, it had a light and refreshing taste. The lentil curry on the rice was also light and tasty. Both dishes were not bad, but they were too light for my preference as I like spicy curries. The side dishes included papad, lemon achar, something with bitter gourd, something with green vegetables. The lemon achar like item had a sharp acidity that instantly refreshed my mouth, but it was a bit questionable if it went well with the curry. In conclusion, the Chilled Bonito Curry was exceptionally delicious, while the other curries were not bad but seemed common, and the sides were unique regardless of their taste. Despite the high hurdle of being open only on Wednesdays, I would definitely like to go back again if I have the chance, thanks for the meal.

There is a super rare curry restaurant located on a street in the back alleys of Cat Street, where many charming shops are lined up. As the name suggests, this place is only open on Wednesdays, making it quite a challenge for hard-working Japanese people. Moreover, the location of the restaurant is hard to find. You have to nervously climb the outdoor stairs that look like emergency stairs up to the 3rd floor to find a place that somewhat resembles the restaurant. When you open the glass door, you'll find the right place. After overcoming various hurdles, you will be greeted with wonderful curry dishes: - Assam soup with fresh mozuku seaweed and mizuna. The tangy and spicy soup is refreshing on a hot day, leaving a pleasant taste in your mouth. - Keema curry with real Sansho pepper. The numbing sensation of Sansho pepper spreads pleasantly in your mouth. Mixing the curry with side dishes like hollow-stemmed greens and bitter melon with plum dressing, along with lemon pickles, creates an exquisite combination with rice. - Chilled horse mackerel curry. It reminds you of a rural hometown dish served at lunch on a hot summer day. It's a miso-based dish with cucumbers, tofu, and raw horse mackerel mixed in. It's delicious and oddly nostalgic at the same time. The hurdles may be high, but those who make it there will experience a mysterious and delightful culinary journey.

- 2 Variety Plate ✔︎ Szechuan pepper & Chicken Keema (1600 yen) ✔︎ Cold Mozuku Rasam (+300 yen) - Soft-boiled Egg Pickles (200 yen) - Roasted Green Tea Cola (600 yen) Visited on a Wednesday with a reservation at 18:50. The place was about half full when we arrived but quickly filled up. I ordered the 2 Variety Plate as the Cold Mackerel Curry was sold out. The food arrived at 19:08. ◯ Cold Mozuku Rasam The combination of rasam with mozuku was unique. The refreshing acidity of the rasam paired with the chewiness of the mozuku was delicious. It's like a spiced-up version of mozuku vinegar. It might come off as quite sour to some. ◎ Szechuan Pepper & Chicken Keema The curry had a thick consistency with large chunks of coarsely ground chicken and raw onions, providing a satisfying texture. Mixing it with the rice was delicious. ◯ Dal (Lentil stew) - Popping ◯ Soft-boiled Egg Pickles Eating the curry with the soft-boiled egg added another layer of flavor. The pickling liquid has a similar kick to fish sauce, enhancing the overall taste when mixed in. Recommended. ◯ Lemon Achar (pickle) The acidity and slight bitterness of the lemon were delicious. It pairs well with both the chicken pickles and the chicken keema. - Roasted Green Tea Cola Surprisingly strong roasted green tea flavor. The combination of green tea and cola was unexpectedly good. Each drink is tasty on its own, but mixing them together enhances the flavors even more. It's a combination that South Indian cuisine lovers will enjoy. The accompaniments such as the dal, egg pickles, and lemon achar were well-balanced and complemented the meal. Despite considering going for seconds due to the location being out of the way, I was satisfied and decided to head home. The menu changes weekly, so I look forward to visiting again. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Thank you.

I visited "BLOCK HOUSE Wednesday Curry" located in Shibuya, Tokyo. The place is a curry restaurant that only opens on Wednesdays. The restaurant is situated on the 3rd floor of a stylish concrete building, just a 5-minute walk from Meiji-Jingumae Station on the Chiyoda Line. The interior of the restaurant is very stylish, with a lot of wood giving it a café-like atmosphere. I ordered the Special Curry Plate (3 types of curry), which included Chilled Horse Mackerel Curry, Beef Tendon Curry, and Eggplant Sambal. The combination of raw fish and curry was unique, but the authentic spiced curry was surprisingly delicious. The Beef Tendon Curry was slightly sweet with a nice texture, while the Eggplant Sambal had a strong acidity and a refreshing aftertaste. The meal also included bean curry, basmati & Japanese rice, assorted vegetables, achar, papad, and a refreshing Red Shiso Juice. The variety of flavors in the curry made the dining experience enjoyable. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Located on a small path about a 3-minute walk from the intersection in Harajuku, this hidden curry restaurant is only open on Wednesdays. The menu is updated weekly with delicious creative curries. I arrived around 11:50 am and was about the 10th person in line, but sometimes there are over 14 people waiting when they open. By 12:30, it was easier to get in. I ordered the "Chilled Bonito Curry (1600 yen)" with an added "Chicken Chettinad (600 yen)" and "Soft-Boiled Egg Pickles (200 yen)". The presentation was simple but somewhat artistic. Both curries were delicious, but the Chilled Bonito Curry was particularly impressive with its perfect balance of Japanese refreshing taste and richness. The large slices of rare bonito were excellent. What surprised me even more was the Soft-Boiled Egg Pickles, which exceeded the usual flavored eggs and had a spicy yet refreshing flavor. The drinks were also well thought out, and the owner was friendly and provided great service. A wonderful curry experience - I will definitely be back!

Today I went to a popular restaurant that is only open on Wednesdays. There was already a long line before opening. The lineup for today was: Chilled Bonito Curry, Chicken Chettinad, and Lassam with fresh mozuku and hijiki. The Lassam had a strong acidity and the mozuku was a good match. The Chicken Chettinad had a rich blend of spices and tender chicken. And the Chilled Bonito Curry was a unique and delicious combination of cold curry and bonito. It was really tasty.

The restaurant is only open on Wednesdays, which was quite difficult for me as someone who has weekends off. Finally, I visited and arrived 5 minutes before the 12:00 opening time. There were already 2 customers ahead of me. Not knowing when I'll be able to come back, I ordered the curry plate. I had the cold mackerel curry, pork vindaloo, and mozuku rasam. The cold mackerel curry was incredibly delicious with a strong spice flavor, reminiscent of Southeast Asian cuisine. The pork vindaloo was the best I've ever had, with a strong spice flavor that surpassed the acidity, and the pork inside was extremely tasty. The mozuku rasam was very sour, even more so than usual according to the staff. It was delicious, but the acidity caused the person next to me to choke a little. The non-vegetarian curries at this restaurant are top-notch, with a high level of spiciness that is elegant and refined. Don't forget to visit this place when they're open on Wednesdays. It was simply delicious! I definitely want to come back!

I visited the BLOCK HOUSE Water Curry, which is only open on Wednesdays in Tokyo, for the first time. It was difficult to find time to come to Tokyo on a Wednesday, but I finally made it. - Restaurant: BLOCK HOUSE, Tokyo Shibuya-ku Jingumae 6-12-9 3F - Transportation: About 15 minutes walk from Omotesando Station When I arrived at the restaurant at 6pm, there was only one group of two customers. During dinner time, you are required to order one drink. I ordered the "SPECIAL curry plate" with 3 types of curry: Chilled Horse Mackerel Curry, Szechuan Pepper Chicken Keema, and Raw Mozuku and Moroheiya Lassam for 2500 yen, along with Yoro Beer. The Chilled Horse Mackerel Curry was unique and did not have any fishy taste. It felt more like a curry dish than a curry itself. The Raw Mozuku and Moroheiya Lassam had coriander, which I'm not a fan of, but it was light and enjoyable! The Szechuan Pepper Chicken Keema was my favorite, with plenty of chicken and a strong Szechuan pepper flavor. By 6:20pm, I finished the meal and paid using PayPay. I hope to visit again to try other curry dishes in the future! Thank you for the meal. Thank you for reading until the end! If you liked the review, please consider liking, following, saving the restaurant, or leaving a comment. Your support is greatly appreciated!

In Obihiro City, Hokkaido, there was a one-day event at Cardinal's store, with a lunch session and a dinner session, both by reservation only, serving curry. The place was bustling with curry lovers! People flocked to try the famous curry restaurant that is only open on Wednesdays in Tokyo. I ordered the Special Curry Plate (1800 yen) and the Bliss Lassi (600 yen). Most customers were ordering the recommended dishes, including the Coconut Fish with Sakuramasu, Ezo Deer Kheema Curry, Lentil Curry, roasted potatoes from Origorin Farm, Mustard Grilled Green Asparagus, Coconut-fried Black Senkoshi Soybeans, Coriander Marinated Mash and Shiitake Mushrooms from Tokachi, Lemon and Citrus Pickles, and a Papad. The curry served was made using plenty of Tokachi ingredients and spices. The restaurant was filled with the wonderful aroma of curry. After a 15-minute wait, a large plate of delicious spiced curry arrived! I first tried the potatoes from Origorin Farm in Makubetsu. The variety was "Saya Akane," tender and sweet. The taste of the potato spread throughout my mouth with each bite! Next, I tried the Coriander Marinated Mash and Shiitake Mushrooms from Tokachi, which had a unique texture of shiitake without being too strong, making it easy to eat. Mixing pickles and black Senkoshi soybeans into the curry sauce added a tangy flavor that made it even more addictive! Many people may not like Ezo Deer, but this dish was odorless and easy to eat, like eating diced steak... amusing. Mixing the curry sauce with papad or vegetables on the plate and enjoying the varied ingredients was a great experience! It's a luxury to enjoy so many colorful ingredients and plenty of curry sauce on one plate. The taste is also agreeable to Japanese palates, as the spices are not too strong. It was a delightful and luxurious moment! I would love to try different curry when I visit Tokyo again. Thank you for the meal!

I happened to have some free time and missed out on eating spice the day before, so I decided to come here. Getting to the building, I had to climb the empty staircase up to the 3rd floor, regardless of whether it was a business day or not, making the visit quite challenging. The interior of the restaurant was like a cafe space. I ordered the seafood and chicken curry sets. The pricing was quite bold for just one type of curry, and even more so for three types at 2400 yen, which is no longer a typical curry price. The food was served quite quickly, but unfortunately everything was cold. The plate was luxurious with stir-fried spices, pickles, deep-fried vegetables, and bean curry in addition to the curry I ordered. The rice was Basmati rice, perfectly fluffy. The seafood curry had a rich clam broth flavor that was very delicious, but I wished it was served hot. The chicken curry seemed basic at first but the complex use of spices made it hard to describe. All of the dishes were very tasty, so it was a shame they were lukewarm or cold. With such a variety of side dishes, I would have been happier if there was a bit more default rice. I hope they can serve the dishes hotter next time. Thank you for the meal.

I lined up 10 minutes before the store opened and was able to get in without any issues. If I had arrived after the store opened, I would have had to wait for over 30 minutes until the first customers finished eating. The curry here is delicious, with a flavorful broth. The seafood curry, in particular, had a bouillabaisse-like taste with a hint of cilantro that was exquisite.

I went to a curry restaurant that is only open on Wednesdays. It is located between Omotesando and Shibuya, surrounded by stylish shops and restaurants. The restaurant is on the third floor, so you have to climb stairs. This week they had a coconut curry with sea bream and clams. The coconut flavor was gentle and even those who don't like spicy food can enjoy it. The pineapple achar served on the side was a nice accent and delicious. They also had papadum, charcoal-grilled zucchini, and other sides that were tasty. The location is great, making it a good choice for a slightly luxurious day out.

【Summary】★3.9 (Flavor Type)・Special Curry Plate with 3 varieties 2400, Lemonade Soda 600・Visited the curry restaurant "BLOCK HOUSE Wednesday Curry" on the only national holiday of 5/3, which falls on Wednesday in 2023.・Enjoyed the high-quality curry which pairs well with alcohol - a special treat during the Golden Week expedition. 【Comments】・During the Golden Week holiday, I visited a unique restaurant that caught my eye in the curry genre, called "BLOCK HOUSE Wednesday Curry".・This shop operates only on Wednesdays as a pop-up style shop. Wednesdays have fewer national holidays compared to Mondays, making it quite challenging. However, I managed to visit on the only Wednesday national holiday of 2023, May 3rd. The reservation was made through Instagram, and on the day of my visit, all reservations were fully booked (there were no walk-in customers), so I was relieved that my reservation was secured.・I ordered the Special Plate which includes 3 varieties of curry (2400) along with a Lemonade soda mix (600). The curries included Crab and Shrimp Coconut Curry, Coarsely Ground Pork and Green Pepper Keema, and Vegetable Sambal, providing a full lineup of seafood, meat, and vegetables.・The well-spiced Keema curry was a standout, complemented by the savory seafood and flavorful Sambal, creating a well-balanced combination. The pairing with drinks, especially alcohol, is excellent! I opted for a non-alcoholic drink on that day due to personal reasons, but I believe it would have been even better with alcohol. (However, the Lemonade soda mix I ordered had a strong fruit flavor, making it delicious).・The shop operates on a one-drink policy, but I recommend ordering drinks alongside the curry as they enhance the overall experience. This shop is particularly recommended for those who enjoy pairing alcohol with curry, offering a unique way to enjoy the meal. Personally, I would love to visit again (whenever that may be) and try their curry with a perfect beer pairing.・As a side note, "BLOCK HOUSE" is the name of the building where the restaurant is located (the restaurant is on the third floor), with an exterior that resembles a block. The restaurant sign is quite hidden, located near the staircase, so be sure not to miss it when you visit.【Evaluation Points Imagery】★4.5 and above: Legendary! Crab and shrimp coconut curry (1600 yen) ⭐3.8 A mild curry with a strong taste of crab and shrimp stock, with a subtle coconut flavor. The lentils have a gentle taste with a hint of coconut sweetness. The fragrance of basmati rice is excellent. The curry has less sauce and may be slightly pricey.

In a back alley, there is a curry restaurant that only opens on Wednesdays. It is located on the 3rd floor of a stylish building in Harajuku. Reservations can be made via Instagram DM starting at 1:30 pm. Once you receive a reply, your reservation is confirmed. I ordered the Special Set for 2400 yen with extra large portions for an additional 100 yen. Along with the three curries, the set also comes with chickpea curry, pickles, assorted vegetables, papadum, and more. It was a feast, and I felt like I was at a party! The lamb curry was outstanding with a refreshing blend of spices and a subtle bitterness that packed a punch. However, the sea bream curry was equally impressive, with the fragrance of dashi broth mingling with the curry. Personally, I think this one takes the top spot. And the vegetable curry was filled with gentle umami flavors that made me finish it first. In the end, all the curries were delicious, and I was blown away by their exceptional taste. If you happen to be in Harajuku on a Wednesday, you must check this place out!

I visited a curry specialty restaurant located on the 3rd floor of a building just a 5-minute walk from Meiji-jingu-mae Station, off Meiji-dori street in a back alley. The restaurant is only open on Wednesdays, which made me wonder if they rent the space from someone else on other days. It's quite trendy-looking building, with outside stairs made of a net-like material that made me a bit nervous about the height, especially coming down. I had made a reservation through Instagram and pre-selected the menu, which included two curry dishes: Nagai-san's mustard fish curry and vegetable sambal, bean curry, side dishes, rice, and papad. The fish curry made with Madai (Japanese sea bream) was absolutely delicious! It was my first time trying such tasty fish curry! It had a rich acidity but still had a smooth and mellow taste. The Madai was plump and tasty. I also got to taste a bit of the lamb curry, which was also delicious and tender like braised pork. However, the fish curry was the standout dish. The side dishes were plentiful, but I didn't write them down, so I can't give exact details. Usually, I prioritize meat over fish in curry, but next time I'll be sure to try all three varieties. It was a feast. Thank you for the meal.
