The appetizers were salad and grated daikon radish. The omakase set of 5 skewers consists of meat, and you can exclude any items you don't like. The price is 1460 yen, which is a great deal. I ordered without liver. Individual orders start from 2 skewers each. This time, we got skewers of chicken tenderloin with wasabi, chicken neck, chicken wings, meatballs, and chicken tail. Each skewer has a moderate seasoning to enjoy the natural flavor of the ingredients. The saltiness goes well with the grated daikon radish appetizer. Tonight, as our second stop, we had oolong tea, appetizers, and the omakase set of 5 skewers for a total of 2640 yen, which is very reasonable. Musashi-Koyama is truly a wonderful town.

On weekends when there is time to spare, I go out with my family to explore the shops in Musashi-Koyama. Tonight, we decided to try out the popular yakitori restaurant "Masakichi" that I've been wanting to visit for a while. It's located in a corner of the residential area, hidden away after passing through the shopping street from Musashi-Koyama Station. The nostalgic interior with old tin signs and posters creates a cozy atmosphere. We sat down and ordered drinks. First, we were served with salted kombu and crispy cabbage Caesar as appetizers. The dishes we ordered today include potato salad, chicken avocado with wasabi, negima, knee cartilage, tsukune, heart, skin, bonjiri, tsunagi (rare part between heart and liver), gizzard, tail, and finally, tamago kake gohan (egg over rice) and small bowl of ramen. The sasami had a perfect rare texture that was irresistible! The moistness of the meat combined with wasabi and avocado was unbelievably good. The negima was juicy and the crispy skin was excellent. The knee cartilage had a great balance of crunchiness and tenderness. The tsukune was a bit strong in sauce but still deliciously chewy. The heart, skin, bonjiri, tsunagi, gizzard, tail, and gizzard were all amazing in texture and flavor. Finally, the tamago kake gohan was fluffy with almonds as a nice touch. The small bowl of ramen had a chicken broth base and was a perfect ending to the meal. Overall, the dishes were a bit salty, but the deliciousness and the reasonable price made it a satisfying experience. Thank you for the meal! We will definitely come back again.

I found a yakitori restaurant that seemed to be popular on Tabelog, so I decided to visit by myself. I ordered a draft beer for 700 yen, an assorted yakitori set for 2,000 yen, and added a sake called "Nabeshima" for 1,100 yen, as well as another draft beer for 700 yen. I didn't order any additional items a la carte, so the total came to 5,000 yen. The complimentary appetizer was followed by the assorted yakitori, which included chicken wings, heart, breast meat, liver, and green onion skewers. I was satisfied with the amount of food! The meat and grilling were both excellent (there wasn't much rareness, which I prefer). If I had to nitpick, the salt was a bit strong, so I would have liked it to be a bit lighter. The restaurant was relatively affordable and the yakitori was delicious. It was about a 3-minute walk from the nearest station. The interior of the restaurant was much cleaner than I had imagined from the outside. Surprisingly, it didn't feel cramped and had a calm atmosphere. The staff were all friendly and nice. The restaurant had stickers from the Michelin Guide and was listed as one of the top 100 restaurants. I was happy that I could finish my meal in under 50 minutes. I was able to make a reservation over the phone just before visiting. I would have never found such a delicious yakitori restaurant on my own. Thank you Tabelog for recommending it. The restaurant is non-smoking inside, but there are ashtrays available outside.

After a change in ownership, the taste has significantly deteriorated compared to before. The grilling level and quality of the meat have decreased, while the prices have increased by about 1.5 times. The cleanliness of the restaurant is lacking, which is noticeable in various areas. As someone who used to frequent the previous establishment, I was quite shocked. I will not be using this restaurant anymore. I hope they improve their cleaning and return to proper business practices.

Masakichi in Musashi Koyama is a delicious yakitori restaurant with generous portions and great value for money. It has been featured in the Michelin Bib Gourmand for 4 consecutive years in the Top 100 Restaurants of 2023. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, attracting locals to dine here. While mainly offering counter seats, there is also one table seat at the back. The chicken skewers such as soriresu, sasami, furisode, tsukune, and hatsu are favorites. It's not difficult to make a reservation, and I love finding restaurants that are both easy to book and serve delicious food. The chicken avocado wasabi and the finishing chicken ramen were also delicious. #Masakichi #yakitori #Tokyo yakitori #Musashi Koyama #Musashi Koyama gourmet #Musashi Koyama yakitori #Musashi Koyama dinner #Fudomae #Fudomae gourmet #Meguro #Meguro gourmet #Meguro yakitori #Meguro dinner #foodie #tokyofoodie

Yakitori Masakichi is located a short walk from Musashi-Koyama Station. I discovered this place with friends during graduate school, and although I haven't been here in a while, the cozy atmosphere and delicious skewers and dishes remain unchanged. The classic ramen was also consistently tasty. It's always heartwarming to see old favorite restaurants still thriving. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I finally visited "Masakichi" after being strongly recommended by a friend. I enjoyed fantastic appetizers with my beer, then switched to hot sake and had a selection of 5 skewers (including chicken wings, chicken tenderloin with wasabi, chicken liver, chicken tail, and green onion with chicken). I also added gizzards, chicken skin, soft boiled egg, and chicken meatballs. The chicken ramen (small) for the finale left me completely satisfied both physically and mentally.

It is very delicious and highly recommended. The yakitori has a strong meat flavor, not masked by sauce or salt, and is cooked perfectly with plenty of juicy meat. The cost performance is also very good - my friend and I had two drinks, finished with ramen, and even added more yakitori, all for less than 10,000 yen, so it's quite affordable. Although the location is a bit hard to find, if you consider going to a yakitori restaurant in Shibuya or Shinjuku where it costs around 7,000 yen per person, this place offers much better value for money.

I ran errands during the day and went out for drinks at night with my local friend, Mr. Y. He treated me to dinner. It's quite refreshing to have someone else take care of the restaurant bill, haha. Well, I wouldn't know much about Tokyo restaurants myself. Apparently, this place is listed in the Michelin Bib Gourmand guide. That's exciting! On a holiday night, we arrived right when the restaurant opened. It was almost full due to reservations, so it seems you can't just walk in casually. I tried the chef's selection of 5 skewers. They use a chicken called "Koshi no Tori" from Niigata. The chicken wings were incredibly juicy! It was a tough battle for my sensitive tongue due to the heat, but the seasoning was just right. The chicken breast was tender and high-quality, though I secretly prefer the plum flavor. It's been a while since I had knee cartilage, and the crunchy texture and juicy meat were enjoyable. The tsukune and negima skewers were also excellent in taste! The grilled dishes were of a high standard. The miso-marinated cream cheese and other side dishes were also delicious. The namero was not served raw, but the concept was interesting. They had various sake brands from all over Japan. Y chose Shinsei from Miyagi... sticking with Tohoku, huh? The only regret was that I wanted to try ramen and other menu items, but it was late for lunch and I ended up quite full. It might have been the best yakitori I've had in a while. Tokyo truly has a variety of great restaurants!

I visited Masakichi located in a residential area about a 5-minute walk from Musashi-Koyama. The interior of the restaurant is cozy with about 10 counter seats and small table seats at the back. You can see the staff grilling skewers from any seat, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Even as a solo female diner, I felt very welcomed and had a wonderful time. What I had: - Assorted skewers (5 skewers) ¥2,000 - Yakitori bowl ¥1,800 - Draft beer (Heartland!) ¥700 - Namachiku (sake) ¥900 The Caesar salad with cabbage and edamame served as an appetizer was delicious and perfect for summer. Before serving the skewers, they asked if there were any preferences or dislikes. I mentioned my love for chicken wings, and they included it in the assortment. The chicken wings, chicken breast, meatball, chicken tail, and chicken thigh were all grilled perfectly with great texture and seasoning, providing a delightful dining experience. Each skewer had a generous portion, and the yakitori bowl I ordered at the end was quite luxurious with a variety of skewers, leaving me feeling very full. Thank you for a lovely time!

I ordered the "Omakase 5 Skewers" and "Sesame-dressed Green Vegetables" with my friend. We also got the "Plum Cucumber" as an appetizer. The yakitori was juicy and the portions were generous. The selection of sake was great and paired well with the yakitori. We finished with a small bowl of ramen, which was a perfect light soy sauce flavor to end the meal.

I am not a fan of dry and tough meat that takes away moisture from my mouth, but the Negima meat I had here was juicy and fluffy, which made me and my friend groan in delight. We also tried some unusual dishes like chicken namero. I heard the ramen here was delicious, so I opted for a small size as I was already full. The rumored delicious final ramen did not disappoint. Thank you very much for the meal.

Visited on a Saturday night. Made a same-day reservation and was able to secure a slot at 9:00 PM. The restaurant had around 10 counter seats and 5-6 tables, creating a lively atmosphere. We were served a Caesar salad and edamame as appetizers. We ordered yakitori, sasami namero, and a small portion of ramen. The yakitori was all high-quality and satisfying. The negima yakitori, in particular, had a tender texture that was truly impressive. Although the service was a bit slow, I realized they were very particular about how they grilled the food. The ramen had a soup full of yakitori shop's character and the curly noodles paired perfectly, making it very delicious. However, my favorite was the sasami namero. I ordered it twice. The juicy and tender sasami with well-seasoned flavors was irresistible. I highly recommend trying it out!

Yakitori Masakichi Access: Approximately 5 minutes on foot from Musashi-Koyama Station Recommended for: Drinking parties, meals, dates Assorted skewers set (5 skewers) 1460 yen Potato salad 450 yen Pickled plum cucumber 420 yen Chicken ramen 880 yen Masakichi, a restaurant that has been featured in the Michelin Bib Gourmand guide for 4 consecutive years. We started with the assorted skewers and appetizers. The yakitori skewers were large and satisfying, with a deliciously juicy and crispy finish. It's rare to find yakitori of this quality at this price. Masakichi is also known for its chicken ramen, which is so popular that there is a sign saying "Ramen only, no yakitori." It's great to be able to enjoy ramen of the same quality as a ramen specialty shop after drinking. I was amazed at how delicious the yakitori was! A friend who lives in Musashi-Koyama invited me to drink near their house, and I came without knowing that there was such a high-quality yakitori restaurant. I wish I had done more research beforehand because I was so satisfied with all the delicious food. The restaurant is located a little outside Musashi-Koyama, and the interior is quite compact, with customers sitting close together and sharing space. The grilled chicken was juicy, the liver was creamy, and the heart was tender, with each ingredient being cooked to bring out its best qualities. When you put it in your mouth, you'll be amazed at how delicious chicken can be. Furthermore, the appetizers were also delicious, and even though I was full, the ramen at the end slipped down easily. They seem to make the broth from scratch, using every part of the chicken, which I think is admirable.

A Michelin-starred yakitori restaurant that requires reservations☆ Every skewer of yakitori is delicious!!! We also tried their famous ramen, and it was amazing - the soup, noodles, and grilled chicken chashu were all excellent!!! Each skewer is very filling, so we got the chef's choice set of 5 skewers and were satisfied. We couldn't order other yakitori we wanted to try... Next time, we'll come back for a rare cut of meat!!!

It was my second visit to this restaurant. I was able to get a reservation easily on the same day. As soon as you open the door, there is a counter right in front. The place was full and lively. I started ordering skewers that caught my eye. The tsukune (chicken meatballs) were really delicious. It's interesting how the taste of tsukune can vary so much depending on the restaurant. I finished off with chicken soba noodles. It's great that they offer a small size option. Even though it's small, the toppings are generous and colorful. The soup is light but has a delicious dashi flavor. The smooth noodles just slide down your stomach. Looking around, it seems like most people are finishing their meal with noodles. After enjoying the skewers, I can see why you would want to order this delicious dish. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The skewers were generally very delicious. The chicken wings were especially tasty. The ramen was just okay. The service was disappointing as well. I ordered the Lapis Lazuli from Shinsei, but they brought an Ecru without saying anything. When I asked about it, they rudely said, "We don't have Lapis, do you want to cancel?" It was hard to refuse after it had already been poured.

Located a 5-minute walk from Musashi-Koyama Station, this yakitori restaurant primarily focuses on counter seating. I made a reservation and entered right when they opened. Starting with a draft beer, I also tried the Shimane wine "Enmusubi" in addition to other domestic wines from Niigata and Koshu. For the yakitori, I had a set of 5 assorted skewers including chicken neck, chicken tenderloin, chicken wing, chicken thigh with green onion, and chicken tail. The crispy skin on the chicken wing was exceptional. Despite feeling quite full after the skewers, I couldn't resist ordering the simmered dish which was also delicious. A standout item was the Chinese noodles in broth served as a finishing dish, combining the richness of the chicken with a flavorful soup. The restaurant had a smokey atmosphere due to the grilling, and while the counter seating was a bit cramped, the overall experience was great. The bill was also quite reasonable.

It was delicious, so I decided to take a picture of the yakitori. It was cartilage, but the crunchy texture and the fatty taste were delicious. I was wondering what would come on the five skewers, and to my surprise, the first one was a chicken wing. It's not often that you get a chicken wing as the first skewer. It was a juicy and fatty chicken wing. It was delicious. I might just keep ordering this. The skin was also delicious. I'm thinking of coming back tomorrow. Yum. The lemon sour after the beer was also delicious. Yakitori is so tasty.
