Sometimes I visit the floor of "Wako" and I noticed that a new shop has opened there! I decided to take a look inside... Upon entering, I found a shop run by a young female owner with a sign that read "vin", so I decided to try some wine. I had the 2018 Rheingau Steinberger Riesling, a sweet and easy-to-drink white wine from Germany. The owner also offered me some pistachio chocolate for an additional charge of 1000 yen. Despite the chocolate looking simple, as we chatted, she also brought out some more chocolates. She mentioned that she used to work at Louise, a place I had been wanting to visit but never got the chance to. Since I don't have many friends who are into wine, I hadn't come across this shop before. It seems like they also have an Instagram account, but I forgot to ask for the handle. This building houses several shops, so I might visit again to explore more.

A bar opened on October 7th on the 4th floor of the Kawai Building at the intersection of Sanroku-cho in Asahikawa. The female owner, who previously worked at a wine bar in the city, has opened a small but stylish bar. The menu is not fixed, you just need to tell them what you want to drink and they will recommend something for you that day. The prices for most of the wines by the glass are around 1,000 yen. For a charge of 1,000 yen, you will get a selection of snacks chosen by the owner, usually a few different options. I wanted wine, so I was recommended something. First, a red wine: "Chateau Cap de Faugères 2017" (1,000 yen) - a wine with a fragrant and sweet aroma, and a fruity taste. The snacks for that day were 3 items, all carefully selected. Especially the Niseko Kamimura truffle butter, cheeses (from Asahikawa) and pistachios. All of them paired well with the wine. The truffle butter from Kamimura is something you don't see in many places in Asahikawa. For the second glass, I tried a white wine: "Chardonnay Mersault Charme 2019" (1,000 yen) - a wine with a rich and soft aroma. Looking at the back bar, they also have some good whiskies. It's a bar where you can relax and enjoy delicious drinks and snacks!
