It was a long-awaited homework assignment. Suddenly, he suggested going to any restaurant of his choice. In such cases, I choose a restaurant from the bookmarked list within a reasonable distance from home. So, I thought of this place. I made a last-minute reservation, and luckily secured a table. It's a bit of a walk from Shin-Nakano station on the Marunouchi line, and it was quite hot that day, making it a bit tough. We were greeted by the owner, who we often see on TV, and a female staff member. Let's order right away. In addition to the regular menu, we also checked the daily specials on the whiteboard. We ordered two draft beers for 539 yen each, which were Super Dry. We also ordered the super luxurious seafood vinegar dish for 600 yen. It was a classic vinegar dish with a generous amount of seafood. It was truly luxurious. We also tried the Goya ring fritters for 250 yen, which was recommended that day. The bitterness of the Goya and the spiciness of the fritters paired very well together. It kind of reminded me of an Indian dish called Wada (laughs). We also ordered the Spicy Oden for 539 yen, which is famous along with the Spicy Grilled Pacific Saury. Since the grilled fish that day was Mackerel, and some people are not fond of it, we opted for the Oden. The Oden had a perfect balance of spiciness added to the broth. It maintained the traditional Oden flavor while having a nice spicy kick. The combination of konjac, cilantro, and other ingredients that seemed odd at first strangely worked well together. We also ordered a variety of grilled items: Tandoori Chicken Yakitori for 209 yen, Spicy Beef for 319 yen, Spicy Chicken Liver for 209 yen, Spicy Gizzard for 209 yen, and Tandoori Grilled Shrimp for 319 yen. You can order these grilled items individually, which is convenient. The skewers were quite large and had a slightly higher price due to the spiced seasoning. The Tandoori Chicken Yakitori was so spicy that it made me exclaim "It's spicy!" The liver was grilled just right, but it would have been even better if it was a bit more tender. The Potato Salad by Yukari for 363 yen was elegantly presented. The mint sauce served with it was quite addictive. Despite most of the dishes being spicy, we didn't get tired of it at all. We ended the meal with Lamb Curry for 715 yen and a spiciness level of 5, along with two Roti for 253 yen each. Of course, we had to have curry. The spiciness level was set at 5, which was just right. The spiciness from the skewers earlier had significantly increased our tolerance for heat. Even though a level 5 might be considered spicy for Japanese people, it had a refreshing spiciness. I would like to try level 7 next time. The freshly baked Roti had a texture similar to tacos, and I ended up getting a second serving. This curry is a great accompaniment to drinks. After the beer, we tried the Indian craft beer BIRA WHITE for 715 yen each. We also had Indian wine, Shiraz, for 495 yen per glass. The drinks were also focused on India. The overall cost was very reasonable. We ate to our heart's content and it didn't even cost 4000 yen per person. It's a spice tavern that makes you want to go back, especially on hot days.
