On this day, I had to go to Kyoto for a memorial service. With limited time, I decided to stop by this shop on the way that seemed quick and easy to visit. I was excited to try their delicious curry udon, which I love. There were about ten parking spaces in front of the shop, but they were arranged diagonally, so it required some careful maneuvering to park. Despite it being a weekday afternoon around noon, there was only one parking space available, and the indoor seating was full by the time we arrived. It's a popular place. Here comes the surprising part - when we were seated, we were given a receipt-like paper with a QR code on it. Scanning the QR code brought up the menu on our phones, allowing us to place our order online. I found this system very convenient. The menu had a wide variety of options, and I had a hard time deciding. In the end, I chose the pork curry udon for 890 yen and added a large serving for 160 yen. The single female server was managing the whole place, which seemed challenging with this ordering system. But I think this system is great for contactless service and cost-cutting. The kitchen also seemed to have only one staff member. Despite the extensive menu, the efficiency was impressive. The food was served promptly, and the large portion of curry udon looked appetizing. The broth had a strong curry flavor, and the udon noodles were thin and had a nice texture. The pork topping consisted of three large slices of pork belly, which added a satisfying element to the dish. The meal was filling and well-prepared, and I felt satisfied. The set meal seemed a bit pricey, so I opted for the large serving, and it was worth it. I will definitely try it again at the next memorial service. My mother ordered the chicken tempura udon, which turned out to be very generous in portion size. I tried a piece of the chicken tempura, and it was delicious, with a perfectly crispy coating. I will have a hard time deciding on my next order (laughs). Despite being a bit off the main road, I found a hidden gem of a restaurant. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again. The evaluation criteria are based on a 4.0 scale, considering both the taste and overall service. If you have any feedback or different opinions from the review, please leave a message.

I was taken to the popular udon restaurant, Yamada, by my boss. The curry udon was delicious, with a refined yet flavorful broth. The noodles had a Kyoto-style feel and paired well with the soup. The set menu options were also great. The fried chicken in the set was juicy and tender, and the rice was delicious. I apologize for the poorly taken photo.

This is a curry udon main restaurant, but in the summer, I crave cold dishes. Today, I had the tororo sansai bukkake udon. It's like adding extra ingredients to the zaru udon broth. The spiciness of the green onions is just right and refreshing. Lately, the staff's friendliness has improved, making the atmosphere better.

Curry udon is delicious, of course, but the crispy and chewy chikuwa tempura is surprisingly delicious. The classic is beef tendon curry udon, but the chikuwa tempura is winning. This time I tried the bukkake style, but the chikuwa tempura is just so delicious. Why is it so tasty?

I visited around 12 o'clock and ordered the beef tendon curry udon and mini oyakodon set. The restaurant was almost full, as usual for lunchtime on weekends. I always order beef tendon dishes wherever I go, and I especially liked the beef tendon curry udon here. I love the curry flavor and the tender tendon meat. Thank you for the meal!

I was able to sit comfortably in the tatami room and enjoy a fulfilling meal. The portion size, price, and taste were all satisfying. The tempura curry udon was amazing, with two shrimp tempura, asparagus, lotus root, shiso leaf, eggplant, two pumpkin slices, and sweet potato. The mixed fry set meal included tonkatsu, shrimp fry, menchi katsu, fish fry, karaage, and a unique udon mayo salad. It was a luxurious lunch.

For lunch today, I went to Minehachi in Kichijoji. I had curry udon and toriten udon. The udon noodles were on the thinner side, which I liked, but I wish they had a bit more firmness. The rice was not that great, which was disappointing. Overall, it was decently tasty. I would give it a rating of 3.15 out of 5. Thank you for the meal.

I think it's convenient to read the menu by scanning the QR code with my smartphone, but it would be easier if the menu was also available in paper form. Ordering and viewing product photos on the smartphone is fine. I hope they offer a kids' curry udon menu for peace of mind. I had the sweet fox curry udon for one person. (I usually eat mild curry from a retort pouch). By the way, on holidays they stop taking orders at 2 pm.

This place offers the best value for lunch. Although their curry udon is famous, the regular udon with broth is also delicious. They serve a side of fried food, which is of good quality. The meal comes with rice, so even men can leave feeling satisfied. Orders are placed by scanning a barcode with your smartphone. The restaurant is spacious, so there is usually not much of a wait. The only downside is the small parking lot.

On the way to my parents' house, I stopped by a restaurant just after 12:00 PM. The parking lot in front of the store was already full, so I had to wait on the road for a spot to open up. The owner, who seemed a bit stern at first, came out of the shop with a smile and told me I could also use the parking lot across the street. I ordered the popular dish, Wagyu tendon curry udon for 915 yen. The curry broth had a Kyoto-style flavor, and the udon noodles were thin and soft, typical of Kyoto. The Wagyu tendon was simmered to perfection, melting in my mouth.

Kyoto-style curry udon. I believe Kyoto is a hidden gem when it comes to curry udon. Minehachi is a restaurant that specializes in Kyoto-style curry udon and offers a wide variety of menu options. This time, my family of three visited on a Saturday. The restaurant has a spacious parking lot in front, making it convenient for those arriving by car. We placed our order through a smartphone and ordered the following items: Beef tendon curry udon with rice, Beef curry udon, Sweet fox udon. The curry udon had a thick and creamy soup that coated the udon noodles well, making it delicious. The beef tendon was tender and we were even able to add rice after finishing the udon. My daughter had the Sweet fox udon, which she also enjoyed as the broth was flavorful. It's a family-friendly curry udon restaurant.

Today, I went to a restaurant near the Kyoto branch. My colleague recommended the curry udon. When I asked for recommendations, they suggested the "sujikare udon"! This Kyoto-style curry udon has a different kind of broth. The broth has a subtle seafood flavor that doesn't overpower the curry taste. The two flavors blend harmoniously. It felt a bit different from other curry udon I've had before. Thank you so much! I enjoyed it a lot. Grateful!

Today's lunch was at "Bimi Sain Minen Hachi". Located in Minami-ku, near the Kyuseibashi Gozen intersection, this udon restaurant stands out in the industrial area. The restaurant is always crowded, with tables and counter seats available. You order by scanning a QR code with your smartphone, with a variety of udon, rice bowls, and set meals on the menu. The most popular item is the curry udon, which comes in different varieties with a wide range of toppings. I decided on the "Beef tendon curry udon + Mini Inarizushi bowl set" for 1260 yen. The food arrived promptly, with a generous portion of delicious Inarizushi bowl and a flavorful curry with tender noodles and chunks of tendon. The curry was not too spicy and had a rich texture. The dessert, a subtly sweet jelly, was a nice way to end the meal. Overall, I enjoyed the number one dish at this popular restaurant.

It's Tuesday, so I thought they might be closed, but they were actually open. I parked my car in the garage and went inside the restaurant. I sat at the counter and ordered the Kitsune Curry Udon with fried chicken set. The restaurant smelled of curry, which was a nice change. I started by sipping the soup slowly, enjoying the spices in it. The fried chicken was delicious, and the rice was very tasty too. I had a great meal at Minehachi's curry udon restaurant.

I visited "Kyoto-style Curry Udon Minehachi," known for its curry udon. Personally, I like chikuwa tempura, so I had the "Chikuwa Tempura Curry Udon" (770 yen) and the "Mini Oyakodon" (330 yen). The curry with a thick texture is very delicious. The chikuwa tempura is crispy and tasty. It's also delicious when dipped in the curry. The udon is thin and soft, in the Kyoto style, and I felt it paired well with the curry. The oyakodon had a rich flavor, which I personally enjoyed. I will definitely come back again. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Occasionally I go to this restaurant for lunch during work. Their specialty is curry udon. It's a bit difficult to get there without a car and the parking lot is not very big, which is a shame. During lunchtime, it tends to get quite crowded! I went there after a long time and they had a mini set for lunch. I got a mini curry udon with chikuwa tempura and a mini rice bowl with egg. Even though they were mini, the chikuwa tempura was generously served! It was delicious as always. The egg bowl, hmm? It was very flavorful. I hope it's just for today. I also got a takeout of beef tendon curry. I got a souvenir. Thank you for the meal ♡

I used this place for the first time for lunch on a regular day. I visited around 11:30 am and there was only one other customer at that time, so there was plenty of parking space. Since I was dining alone, I was seated at the counter and I ordered the "Chicken Tempura Curry Udon" and fried chicken set from the lunch set menu. The curry udon was served promptly, probably because the noodles were relatively thin. The curry was thick, hot, and quite spicy. The thin udon noodles were soft and smooth, with a good texture that easily slid down the throat. The curry coated the udon nicely, creating a delicious flavor. The tempura chicken was crispy and light, and tasted great when dipped in the curry. The fried chicken in the set was also crispy and had a wonderful texture. The macaroni salad on the side was interesting, as it used udon noodles. I wish they offered this as a standalone menu item. The side dishes of burdock root stew and simmered vegetables were nostalgic and complemented the meal well. I mixed the leftover rice into the curry at the end and enjoyed it. Although I found the udon portion a bit lacking for a "volume set," I believe it would be satisfying for most people. The set cost 1000 yen, which I found to be good value. As more customers arrived while I was eating, the parking lot was full by the time I left just before 12 pm. The popularity of the place was understandable given the delicious curry udon. I look forward to trying their popular menu item, the beef tendon curry udon, on my next visit. Thank you for the meal!

Kyoto-style curry udon with simmered beef tendon curry and a side of egg bowl set, topped with Kujyo green onions! The Kansai-style udon noodles are paired with a flavorful yet mildly spicy curry broth. The spicy Kujyo green onions add a nice kick. The simmered beef tendon is tender and rich in flavor. The egg bowl has a perfect half-cooked texture soaked in broth, with delicious accompaniments like kelp tsukudani, simmered taro, and grape jelly. It was a luxurious lunch experience.

I had lunch at an udon restaurant in Kichijoji, which is known for its curry udon. The restaurant is located in an area surrounded by factories and warehouses, with a relatively large storefront and a parking lot in front of it. The interior has a traditional Japanese atmosphere with tatami, table, and counter seats, and it seemed to have a decent number of seats. I visited around 1:30 pm on a Saturday, and the restaurant was quite busy. I found a few empty seats at the counter and decided to sit there. As expected from a curry udon-focused restaurant, there was a wide variety of curry udon options on the menu. I ordered the popular "Beef Tendon Curry Udon" with toppings of "Grilled Cheese" and "Tempura Chikuwa". After a short wait, my dish arrived. The steaming hot curry udon had a delightful aroma, and the generous amount of grilled cheese was melted and gooey, with crispy tempura chikuwa on top. The dashi broth made with kombu and bonito flakes had a nice umami flavor, and the curry had a good level of spiciness, making it very easy to drink with a thick and flavorful curry soup base. The thin noodles, typical of Kyoto-style udon, had a nice chewy texture and went well with the curry broth. The beef tendon was tender and flavorful, cooked in a savory Japanese-style broth that blended seamlessly with the curry. The tempura chikuwa was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, a perfect match for the curry udon. The portion size was satisfying, and I was impressed by how delicious it was. I would love to visit again. Thank you for the delicious curry udon! - Beef Tendon Curry Udon 848 yen - Grilled Cheese, Tempura Chikuwa toppings each 200 yen
