In the basement of Kyoto Tower, there is a popular restaurant where you can enjoy "hijosake" (drinking while climbing down a ladder). I ordered yukke, which I had always wanted to try. It was delicious with no raw smell, and the texture and sauce were very tasty! The horumon (offal) was also juicy and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant! (*ˊᵕˋ*)

5 kinds of assorted dishes. Amazing!! I thought zucchini tempura would be good, but when I actually ate it, it was delicious! What is this!! It was amazing being piping hot. The hormone was really chewy and also amazing. Afterwards, I ordered teppanyaki as well. It was 780 yen for a single item, but with a highball it was 800 yen, so of course I chose the latter! I will definitely go again.

Located in the food court on the basement floor of Kyoto Tower in front of Kyoto Station, this place offers a great deal on Teppanyaki and Highball for 800 yen including tax. The Wagyu hormone dish is delicious with a juicy fat texture that is not too heavy when paired with vegetables. Conveniently connected to Kyoto Station's underground shopping area, it is easily accessible by public transportation. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The underground first floor is like a bar district, where you can sit at the counter and enjoy food and drinks, or buy your favorite items and enjoy them in the free space. One of the bar-like shops here is Hiro-san's. I had the iron plate hormone grill (780 yen) and kimchi (280 yen), and to put it mildly, the hormone grill was exquisite. The hormone was a fatty and plump type (similar to teppanyaki, but thicker), but it was well cooked on the surface and the seasoning was exquisite. I couldn't help but exclaim "Delicious!" after taking a bite. The finely chopped stir-fried vegetables served alongside prevented the dish from feeling greasy, and it remained delicious until the end. The portion size is not very large, but it's just right if you plan on trying other dishes at different shops in the bar district. The kimchi was not too spicy, with a good balance of richness and sweetness, and was delicious with a moderate portion size. Overall, the taste, portion size, and price are reasonable (not necessarily the best value), but I would definitely revisit for that hormone grill.

I was unsure how to spend the night in Kyoto, but ended up going underground at Kyoto Tower. I found a place similar to the food area at Kabukicho Tower that I visited the other day! There were even more shops here than at Kabukicho Tower, and they were not as crowded, so it was really fun looking for a place to eat. As a meat lover, I chose this place in particular. I also enjoyed a second lemon sour for only 200 yen.

After finishing work, I stopped by Kyoto Station. I wanted something quick to snack on before heading home, so I went to Tower Sando and found Hiro-san's 5 kinds of assorted skewers (980 yen) and ordered it with oolong tea. The assortment includes homemade tongue ham, wagyu beef cut-off kalbi, seasonal vegetables, beef harami, and hormone. The seasonal vegetables were fried zucchini and the hormone was chicken intestines. The homemade tongue ham was very tender with a hint of salt and spices, providing a good amount of flavor and texture. The wagyu beef cut-off kalbi was also tender and the sauce was delicious. The fried zucchini added a nice variety to the flavors. The beef harami had a good balance of fat and lean meat, making it easy to eat. The hormone was chicken intestines, but it was well-prepared and easy to chew, even for beginners. Each skewer had a different flavor profile, making it enjoyable to try each one. The soft drink was also generously filled and priced at 200 yen, which is quite affordable. Hiro-san has multiple locations and I have also tried their croquettes and minced cutlet elsewhere, both of which were delicious. Overall, Hiro-san's skewers are of top quality in Kyoto and I consider it a reputable brand.

Oh, sorry. I ordered harami, beef skewers, and vegetable skewers (1 plate with 3 skewers each) individually, but isn't the 980 yen for the assorted 5 skewers on the menu a great deal? It includes tongue and beef harami skewers which are delicious. The grilling is also done well. Next time, I will definitely go for the assorted 5 skewers.

The renovated Kyoto Tower Sand Shop was bustling with many foreign tourists. Beef tongue 380 yen, lean meat 380 yen, skirt steak 280 yen, liver 280 yen, tripe 280 yen. Total 1600 yen including tax. The prices are only for skewers, so it's perfect for a light drink. Since it's meat from a butcher shop, it was delicious.

Assorted 5 skewers for ¥980, seasonal citrus sour for ¥580, beef tongue for ¥380, wagyu meatball for ¥380, extra sour for ¥200. The sours come in strong or light types, and you can choose the alcohol content. I was also interested in the teppanyaki series, but I chose skewers to avoid lingering too long. The beef tongue ham had a taste and texture similar to corned beef. The seasonal vegetable was zucchini fries. Each skewer was labeled on a plate, which was helpful. I thought the additional charges were a bit expensive, so I recommend going with the assorted skewers for value.

After going to GW outing and returning from Koshien, we stopped by here for a night of drinking. We arrived at 19:15 and my wife saved us a seat while I lined up to order. There were 7 groups ahead of us. My wife had a draft beer for ¥500, while I had a highball and iron plate hormone grilled dish for ¥800 (set price). We also ordered beef tongue, harami, and hanasakigari beef for ¥380 each. After 10 minutes, the buzzer rang and I went to pick up the food. The hormone dish was chewy and flavorful with a good sauce. The beef tongue, harami, and hanasakigari beef were all delicious and had a nice texture. The harami and beef ribs had a great combination with the sauce. It was really delicious. It turned out to be a great night of drinking. Thank you for the meal.

Renewed Tower Sand Food Hall for the first time in a while for a girls' night out. We decided to try out new places, but couldn't pass up the popular yakiniku restaurant that has been around for a while. My friend, who doesn't drink alcohol, had oolong tea and hoso skewers. I love the sauce at this place. The combination of hoso's fat and the sauce makes the beer taste even better. Thank you for the meal.

The underground food court at Kyoto Tower. First, secure a seat in the food court, order at the counter, and wait until your order number is called. Once your food is ready, bring it to your seat and enjoy. The flavor balance of sweetness and spiciness, along with the crunchy texture of the onions, made it a delicious meal.

Located in the food court under the Kyoto Tower, this restaurant offers a variety of options for lunch. The atmosphere is family-friendly and also suitable for those looking to enjoy drinks with friends. After some deliberation, I decided to try the unique and delicious offerings at Kyo Yakiniku Hiro Kyoto Tower. I ordered the Yakiniku Ju (Yakiniku Donburi) for 980 yen, which was a flavorful and satisfying choice. The Deluxe Ju for 1680 yen came with three skewers of grilled meat and a generous portion of Yakiniku on rice, providing a hearty meal. The grilled skewers had a delicious smoky flavor, while the liver had a satisfying texture and paired well with the rich sauce. The tsukune (chicken meatball) was crispy on the outside and tender inside, offering a delightful contrast in textures. The kimchi on the side added a nice kick of spice and sweetness. Overall, this restaurant near Kyoto Station offers a more affordable option compared to eateries directly connected to the station, making it a great choice for families and groups looking to enjoy a variety of dishes. The freshly grilled skewers were a highlight, and the restaurant is also stroller-friendly, making it a convenient dining option for families.

This is a new type of restaurant from the popular "Kyoto Yakiniku Hiro" group, known for their delicious beef, even among the picky people of Kyoto. Located in the underground food court of Kyoto Tower, this place has a counter where you can enjoy your meal. I wanted to visit the main store at Senbon Sanjo, but didn't have enough time, so I stopped by here before catching my shinkansen. I was really hungry, so I chose the "Deluxe Chou" which is a hearty dish with a generous portion of wagyu yakiniku on top of rice, along with three yakiniku skewers (kalbi, tsukune, liver). The rice was completely covered with thinly sliced yakiniku and green onions, all mixed with the yakiniku sauce, making it delicious. I was already satisfied with this alone, but the three skewers added even more flavor to the meal.

During the first three days of the New Year, I was looking for a lunch spot but the station building was crowded, so I went to the food court at Kyoto Tower. It was around 2:30 PM, so I didn't have to wait long for my meal. I had the kalbi bowl, which was generously portioned and the meat was tender and very delicious.

In Nagaokakyo City, the "Hosokawa Garasha Festival" is being held for the first time in 3 years, so I decided to go check it out! Unfortunately, it was raining, but we decided to go anyway! It was my first time taking a train and going out in a while. My friend suggested having lunch at "Kyoto Ramen Koji" at Kyoto Station, but I was concerned about the crowds. We ended up going there and, as expected, it was packed and crowded. So, we changed our plans and went to "Kyoto Tower Sand" instead. We chose to eat at "Yakiniku Hiro Kyoto Tower Sand" and ordered the following:
- Wagyu Yakiniku Rice Bowl (with soup and kimchi) 980 yen (for me)
- Ginger Ale 200 yen (for me)
- Assorted 5 Skewers 980 yen (for my friend)
- Draft Beer (medium) 500 yen (for my friend)
The Wagyu Yakiniku Rice Bowl was delicious, with tender meat and a flavorful sauce. The Wakame Soup and White Cabbage Kimchi were also tasty. The Assorted Skewers included tongue ham, Wagyu beef, seasonal vegetables, beef harami, and hormone, all of which were delicious. The Draft Beer was enjoyed by my friend. Overall, the meal was satisfying and reasonably priced. We ended up not making it to the festival in Nagaokakyo City but decided to explore around Kyoto Station instead.

This is a shop in the underground food court of Kyoto Tower! You can buy your favorite dishes from various shops and enjoy them with drinks. The atmosphere is different, but it reminded me a bit of Hirome Market in Kochi. This time, I had a set of 5 skewers with hormone teppanyaki, and added pork, chicken thigh, and tsukune. They were all delicious and went well with beer!

We ordered "Wagyu hormone yaki," "Wagyu motsu yaki," and the "Chef's selection of 5 skewers" to share, along with some highballs. The highballs paired well with the Wagyu hormone and motsu yaki. Surprisingly, the most expensive "Chef's selection of 5 skewers" didn't have the most impressive taste or cooking. We enjoyed the Wagyu hormone and motsu yaki so much that we came back the next day to order them again at the same restaurant! The lemon sour was also delicious, and the system where refills became cheaper was much appreciated. It was nice to be able to choose the strength of the lemon sour as well. Thank you for the delicious meal!

- What I liked: The meat is delicious!
- Caution: Be careful not to drink too much with the "追いサワーマジック" (refill sour magic).

A yakiniku restaurant in Kyoto. There are several branches in Kyoto, but this one is located in a food court-like area under Kyoto Tower. There is a dedicated counter, but there are also plenty of shared table seats that can be used with other branches. If you sit at a shared table, you can enjoy various dishes and drinks from different restaurants. I looked around the food court and the assorted skewers at Hiro looked delicious, so I decided to try them here. The sour drinks at this restaurant are well-made and cost 580 yen for the first drink, but then become 200 yen for the second drink onwards, making it quite a deal. This system makes it more cost-effective to keep ordering drinks. Even though there is competition with other restaurants in the food court, once customers buy a drink here, they tend to keep ordering here due to the cost-effectiveness. Falling into this strategy, I ended up ordering the following:
- Assorted skewers (980 yen): A set of 5 skewers. One with eggplant and the rest with meat. Hormone, tongue, harami, and meat wrap, I think? Except for the tongue, they were all marinated in a sweet sauce, which was quite flavorful and delicious. The texture of the hormone was chewy and the combination of the white, chewy oil and sweet sauce was excellent. The tongue and harami had a good chewiness. The meat-wrapped skewer was especially delicious, and I wanted to order more of it.
- Seasonal sour drink (580 yen): I was completely drawn to the idea of the refill sour drink, so I bought this. It was a refreshing sour drink that was perfect for summer. I ended up ordering a second one, so I guess I got my money's worth!
I only went for a light drink, but I was more satisfied than I expected.

I arrived at Kyoto Station late at night, so I had dinner at Tower Sand. I had a Deluxe Beef BBQ Set (1680 yen) along with Ryosho's gyoza, which I sometimes crave. It's a voluminous set with beef BBQ on rice and three BBQ skewers on top. The combination of BBQ and rice is excellent, and the skewers are tender and delicious. It was a very satisfying dinner.
