This time, I was seated at a table instead of the counter. I ordered the same dish as last time, the Katsu Curry for 1,150 yen. In this restaurant, Katsu Curry seems to be the only option, but that's fine with me. Just like at the counter, they offered me extra cabbage, which I happily accepted. I poured the sauce over the crispy pork cutlet and enjoyed it with the cabbage. It felt like the cabbage was soothing my digestive system. They say that health starts in the mind, and there was a study claiming that just by mentally simulating exercise, muscles can develop. I believe it. The pork cutlet was the same as last time, with 8 generous cuts. I found it fun to take big bites and savor the flavors. The curry reduced the greasiness, making it easy to keep eating without getting tired of it. Maybe curry is the ultimate food after all. Another satisfying meal.

I visited around 1:30 pm on Saturday. I was seated immediately without waiting. I ordered the pork cutlet set meal (1,300 yen). After a short wait, I was served with pickles, rice, and miso soup with clams. Then, a plate with a mountain of cabbage and a large pork cutlet arrived. The quality was surprisingly high for 1,300 yen, with thick, tender, and juicy meat. There were sauce, salt, and lemon juice on the table for flavor variations. I truly wished there were more local restaurants like this! Just a heads up, they only accept cash payments.

・Taste: ★★★★★ ・Ease of entry for a woman alone: Very easy to enter ・Likelihood to visit again: It's a bit on the expensive side for a regular lunch, but the cost performance is great for the level of tonkatsu you get at this price. I would like to come back again. I went around 1 pm on a weekday and was able to get in right away. The staff made a place for me to put my bag, which I appreciated. I ordered the Hire Katsu lunch set (1,300 yen) and it took a little while to arrive, but I was served with three large, hot pieces of tender pink meat. Eating it without sauce, the meat was tender, the breading was crispy and fragrant. I was impressed by the deliciousness. The mound of shredded cabbage was extremely thin and refreshing. The miso soup with clams also went well with the tonkatsu. I was so full and happy after the meal.

The other day, I tried "Kogane" and it was a rare hit, so I decided to check out "Katsuichi," my rival to Meguro Tonkatsu. This time, I ordered the usual top loin cutlet for comparison. I was waiting, thinking it would be the same as before, but it turns out they've changed it. I noticed right away that the thickness of the tonkatsu had decreased. It used to be over 2cm thick, but now it's about 1.5cm. There seemed to be more fat compared to before, and they may have changed the cut to be closer to rib loin, but this significant decrease in volume is a big negative for me. Maybe some people couldn't finish it before, or maybe it's a response to rising prices. But with this change, it's no different from your average tonkatsu restaurant – just a moderate place. The amount of cabbage was still generous as usual, but that's not what I'm looking for. Whether this was just a one-time thing or not, I won't know until I try it again or see other people's reviews. If this becomes the new standard, I'm less likely to revisit. If it's to prevent leftovers, they should indicate the portion size on the menu to warn customers. Otherwise, they could introduce a separate menu for those who want the previous volume, even if it means a price increase.

I was working in Meguro for a long time, so I hurried to the restaurant just before the last order. I had the hirekatsu set meal, and it was consistently delicious. Not only the tonkatsu, but also the cabbage and pickles were carefully prepared. The miso soup had clams in it, and the slight spiciness was addictive. It was a good dinner.

After a long time, I went to Katsuichi in Meguro, one of the top three tonkatsu restaurants. I was drawn to the visual of the sauce katsu don, but I ended up ordering the lunch menu's katsu curry. Tonkatsu at a tonkatsu restaurant is just the best! And the tonkatsu restaurant's katsu curry was my first time trying it, but wow, the spices are so strong! It's spicy! But the perfect balance of spiciness and delicious curry flavor. It costs 1,150 yen, worth it. Thank you for the meal.

【Visit Information】 - Date: 8/4 (Friday) 19:00 - Price: 1,600 yen - Order: [Food] Hire Katsu Set 1,600 yen 【Food】 One of the top tonkatsu restaurants in Tokyo. Their simple and traditional tonkatsu style makes you want to come back again and again. The oil used seems to be changed regularly, so there is no greasy feeling. 【Service】 While the hospitality is not exceptional, they provide basic service so it's not bothersome. 【Atmosphere/Customer Base】 Mainly frequented by office workers and middle-aged couples. There are not many young customers. 【Crowdedness】 Almost full, but the turnover is fast so be prepared to wait for about 5-10 minutes.

I wanted to eat tonkatsu, so I went to one of the three famous restaurants in Meguro. It is located on the basement floor of a building, and luckily there were hardly any people when I visited on a weekday night. Just as I was finishing my meal, more customers started coming in, so the timing was perfect. This time, I ordered the sauce katsu-don with pork loin for ¥1150. The rice was topped with seaweed and a generous amount of cabbage, with a thick tonkatsu dipped in special sauce on top. The tonkatsu had a satisfying texture and was incredibly delicious. The set meals also looked good, but I noticed that some other customers ordered the sauce from the set meal to put on their sauce katsu-don, so I realized that the sauce here is really tasty. It was a great meal! I definitely want to visit this place again.

I stopped by to have dinner near Meguro Station. The restaurant is located in the basement of a mixed-use building just west of Meguro Station. It has a cozy atmosphere like a traditional izakaya. I ordered the pork cutlet set meal with half portion of rice since I had plans to go to another place afterwards. The cutlet had a thin and crispy coating, tender pork with a good amount of flavor. It may not be flashy or impressive, but it was a solid and delicious cutlet that satisfied me. I recommend it for dining around Meguro Station.

During lunchtime, while everyone ordered set meals, I decided to go for a sauce katsudon (pork fillet cutlet) by myself. The bowl came with 3 pieces of pork fillet cutlets and a generous serving of cabbage, with a side dish of mustard. I carefully transferred the cutlets and cabbage to the separate plate of sauce without spilling anything and finished everything without any leftovers. There was a layer of seaweed between the rice and cutlets, so the cabbage's moisture didn't affect the rice, allowing me to enjoy every bite until the end.

The definitive version of tonkatsu lunch! First of all, it must be Japanese cuisine. When you sit down, you are served with tea, a hot towel, and pickles. The pickles are of high quality, not just store-bought. This is what makes it outstanding. The pork cutlet is thick and served piping hot. It must be a power lunch. The cabbage is piled high like a tower. The miso soup has clams in it. There is always a line, but the turnover is quick.

There is a shop located underground near Meguro Station. Meguro is a fierce battleground for tonkatsu. I was surprised that the taste has changed this time. I had the hirekatsu set meal. The batter is not greasy and crispy, but compared to before, the richness of the fat seems to have decreased a bit.

I arrived at the restaurant for the pork cutlet set meal before 12 o'clock on Saturday and waited for about 30 minutes to get in. The restaurant is located underground, so it was much more comfortable than waiting in the scorching sun outside popular restaurants. Around 12:30, the waiting time decreased and it was easier to get a table without lining up. The key is the timing of customer turnover due to the limited number of seats. The set meal came with a generous serving of cabbage, which was satisfying and healthy. The pickles were refreshing and a perfect palate cleanser. The pork cutlet was thick but sliced vertically, making it easy to eat. The coating was crispy and delicious with either sauce or salt (I prefer salt). Thank you for the meal!

A lesser-known hidden gem restaurant, Daibo, unexpectedly closed. Since the most popular tonkatsu restaurant is not my favorite, I decided to visit this place that I had not been to before. Luckily, there was no line and I could enter right away. I ordered the premium loin cutlet set and oyster fry almost without looking at the menu. Daibo may not be as impressive in terms of meat quality and refill policy compared to the most popular place, but it was decent. However, the oyster fry and its tartar sauce were exceptional. I would like to try the (tenderloin) cutlet curry and oyster fry on my next visit.

I had some errands in Meguro in the morning, so I decided to have lunch there. It was before 12:00, but I only had to wait for about 10 minutes to be seated. I had the pork cutlet set for lunch, and it was delicious. However, there was a bit too much cabbage for my liking. If I have another chance to visit Meguro, I will definitely go back to this restaurant.

"I decided to have lunch in a town I don't usually visit. I saw a post saying that there was a long line at Meguro Tonkatsu Katsuichi, so I was prepared to wait, but surprisingly, I was able to get in right away. I ordered the Hirekatsu lunch set for ¥1300. First, rice and miso soup were served. When I saw the amount of rice, I thought there was no way I could finish it all, so I asked for half. Then, a large portion of cabbage was served followed by the crispy Hirekatsu. The meat was so tender, unlike anything I had imagined from the crispy coating! It was the softest tonkatsu I have ever had! Sorry for not being able to finish it all! #Katsuichi #TonkatsuKatsuichi #SoTender #CrispyCoating #LargePortionCabbage #Volume #SorryICouldntFinishIt #Lunch #Meguro #MeguroTonkatsuTopThree #FoodTour #FoodPorn #Rice #GourmetGram"

This time, I ordered a mixed set meal of fillet cutlet and shrimp fry. The cook who fried the food this time was different from the veteran last time, more of a mid-level cook. - Fillet Cutlet: Compared to the last time with its rich umami and tender texture, this one falls short. It was good, but it didn't reach the level of excitement from before. The tenderness was completely different, and the mouthfeel was also different. The ingredients are the same, so the difference in skill was quite surprising. - Shrimp Fry: It was big and had a satisfying bite. The tartar sauce was homemade and not bad. - Cabbage: The way the cabbage was presented was not as fluffy as the veteran cook's last time. Next time, I'll aim for the classic pork cutlet set meal.

The pork cutlet lunch set. Arrived at 11:45, fourth in line. The meat was thick and very filling. The cabbage was generously served and overall, the portion size was very satisfying. The breading was crispy and delicious!! I would like to try the side dishes like oyster fry and shrimp fry, but it seems tough during lunch time...

■First visit! I visit Meguro every month, but this was my first visit here! As the title suggests, I have decided to come back, but I never expected a restaurant this delicious!■Seated at the counter The counter seats four people, and if there is a table available, you will be seated at a table. About 90% of the customers were dining alone.■Menu They have loin cutlet set, tenderloin cutlet set, and higher options. The cutlet bowl is a sauce cutlet bowl. I ordered the cutlet curry to try. They only serve tenderloin cutlet curry at night.■Pickles Pickles are served as an appetizer with water and osibori. It was cucumber and daikon, and it was delicious!■Salad After a while, the salad arrives. It includes fluffy cabbage, chilled tomatoes, and cucumbers. They provide both sauce and sesame dressing on the side. You can have unlimited refills of cabbage!■Cutlet Curry Appearance The tenderloin cutlet is pre-cut for easy eating. It's nice that the curry is not poured over the whole cutlet. I also tried the sauce with the tenderloin cutlet, and it was incredibly delicious.■I have decided to come back. This is a really great restaurant...

I was eating cabbage eagerly at Katsu Curry Lunch Page First, and when they asked if I wanted a refill, I couldn't resist. The pork cutlet was tender, the curry sauce had the flavor of vegetables infused in it, and it was great value for money. It was my first time trying pork cutlet curry with mustard, and it was delicious.

It was delicious, but if you don't go with an empty stomach, it can be tough... In the end, my stomach was completely full ( ; ; ) The pork loin bowl was 1300 yen and very filling! It came with pickles, miso soup, and a large serving of cabbage, making it a great deal for the price.
