Today I had a late lunch in Uji. I had the luxurious lunch set (monthly special) and the Uji green tea soba set. Every dish was delicious, and the green tea soba was perfectly chilled, which was great for the hot weather. The broth was also well-balanced. I'm curious about the other menu items as well. I will definitely be visiting again.

The restaurant is located in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, a 3-minute walk from Uji (Nara Line) Station exit and near Byodoin Temple. During a short trip with my husband to Kyoto, we visited Sanjusangendo Temple to see hydrangeas, and then headed to the popular cafe "Nakamura Tokichi Honkan" in Uji, only to find out there was a wait time of over 270 minutes. We then tried our second choice, "Itoh Kyuemon Uji Honten," but there was still a wait of about 80 minutes. Unable to wait that long, we wandered around and stumbled upon this restaurant. Despite being full, we waited for about 10 minutes until a table was available and we were able to enter. The interior was a renovated two-story traditional house with a modern Japanese atmosphere. We ordered the lunch set with dessert and a drink for ¥1500 each, choosing matcha cheesecake and matcha parfait as our sweets. The lunch set included a variety of side dishes and was well-balanced. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

I visited for my father's retirement celebration! The teppanyaki and lotus root tempura were delicious and there was a wide variety of dishes. I would love to go back again! We were seated in a semi-private area on the second floor with curtains, which was nice.

Luxurious lunch for ¥1155 at this restaurant on Ujihashi Street shopping district. The plate includes shrimp tempura, green tea soba noodles, penne gratin, tofu with matcha salt, sesame sweet potato, pickles, simmered daikon and tsukune, stir-fried pork, and stir-fried vegetables. It offers a variety of healthy Kyoto flavors using local ingredients. The shrimp tempura was delicious with a hint of cumin.

【Cliffside Bento】The main dish of this bento box is 5 pieces of Uji So chicken fritters, served with shiso tartar sauce. The butter-sautéed daikoku mushrooms are a delightful addition. Locally sourced Italian vegetables are also included. For a refreshing touch, there is yuzu radish pickles on the side. The price is 800 yen (tax included) and PayPay is accepted.

Uji Sosuke. I visited here on a holiday for lunch. It was past 12 o'clock, but there was a line outside the restaurant with about 10 people waiting. Since I had a reservation, I was able to enter right away. The first floor had counter and table seating, and there seemed to be a second floor as well. I ordered the luxurious lunch set. It came with 9 kinds of side dishes, rice, miso soup, and salad, so I felt satisfied. The dishes were all delicious and the portion size was just right. Thank you for the meal. I wanted to drink without worrying, so I visited this place with all-you-can-drink option. For 1.5 hours it costs 1500 yen, and for 2 hours it costs 2000 yen for all-you-can-drink. They offer a variety of drinks such as draft beer, wine, highball, cocktails, and more. The food is creative and diverse. Each dish has its own twist, not necessarily mind-blowing but satisfying.

It was a very hot day near Uji Station, so I decided to go for the cool matcha soba set. It was delicious! I finished it in no time. The small side dishes were also tasty. Plus, it came with a choice of dessert and drink, which was really luxurious. I chose hojicha ice cream for dessert, and it was also delicious! The portion was just right. The restaurant had a very calming atmosphere. I would love to go back again!

My family of 5 went for lunch. The menu was limited to 3 options and we chose the luxurious lunch. The meal consisted of various small side dishes, just like in the menu photo. It was enough for even my son and husband. The dessert and drink were not just extras, they were served properly. There were counter seats on the 1st floor and sunken kotatsu seats on the 2nd floor. It's highly recommended for the price.

During a family trip to Kyoto, we visited a restaurant near the Phoenix Hall of Byodo-in Temple for lunch. Everything we tried was delicious - the tea soba, obanzai (Kyoto-style side dishes), and desserts were all probably homemade and handcrafted. The matcha cheesecake was especially fantastic. We were told we could also get items to go, so we planned to come back after visiting the temple, but unfortunately, we forgot. It's really regrettable (tears).

It was delicious but overall the flavors were mild. The menu is more like home-cooked dishes. The matcha cheesecake was tasty.
