I came near Fushimi Inari, so I decided to dine at this restaurant. I ordered the grilled eel rice bowl (large) and the eel was firm and very delicious. I had been to this restaurant before with my mother and her friend, and the taste hasn't changed. The only disappointing thing was the atmosphere of the staff, I wish I could have enjoyed my meal in a better mood.

There is delicious eel available here. The charcoal-grilled eel has a pleasant texture and is delicious. I recommend topping it with fluffy Kinshi Tamago (shredded egg crepe), which is like a fluffy dashimaki tamago. Be sure to try topping it with that.

Eel-san, I tried the grilled eel today. The sauce is not too strong, so you can really taste the eel. The wasabi, plum, and salt all go well with it, each giving a different flavor. It's hard to choose the best one, I want to try them all! The variety of spicy, sour, and salty flavors is great. It's really delicious and satisfying. Just one thing to note, they only have Ebisu beer in bottles. My friend who loves beer found it a bit disappointing. Ebisu beer seems to be a hit or miss for some people, right?

Visited around 5:00 pm on Sunday. I think the restaurant had about 24 tables for 2 people each and 36 tatami mat seats for about 2 people each. It was not crowded when we arrived, but more customers started coming in around 6:30 pm. Some customers also came in for takeout. The eel and sauce were a perfect match and delicious. We also ordered eel rolls, and the eggs were really tasty and fluffy. *Credit cards are accepted. There are about 2 parking spaces in front of the restaurant, but it may be difficult to park as the road in front is busy with traffic.

This is my 8th visit. I love the eel here the most, so I bring various people with me. The crispy skin with a burnt edge and fluffy inside... irresistible. I come here no matter the season. My go-to is adding fluffy shredded egg and liver to my dish! There are different grades like "premium" or "special", but it's not about the rank, it's about the quantity, so decide based on your appetite. Enjoy!

Near Fushimi Inari in Kyoto, there is a long-established restaurant serving Kansai-style charcoal-grilled eel. They do not take reservations now, so I visited 30 minutes after the evening opening at 5 pm, but there were already 4 or 5 groups ahead of me. It seems to be very popular. Since they specialize in Kansai-style charcoal-grilled eel, I naturally ordered the premium eel rice bowl. They also have a children's version with eel and kinshi tamago (shredded omelette), which was quite impressive. The premium eel rice bowl had a crispy and fluffy texture, with a slightly rich and sweet-savory flavor. The children's version was lighter and easier to eat, showing their attention to detail. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is a restaurant that ranks high in the eel ranking in Kyoto. The restaurant is small, with a capacity of around 20 people. The eel was soft and well fatty. The sauce was not too sweet, using the spiciness of soy sauce to create a good match with the eel. I was surprised by the eel omelette, which had an unnatural fluffy texture. It was said to be a Kyoto-style rolled omelette, but the flavor was light and focused on the fluffy texture, more like a souffle than a rolled omelette. When asked, they mentioned that they add powder to it, but did not specify what kind of powder. Probably baking powder, I think. The dashi broth served was also delicious, and the eel wrapped in kelp that came with the set was good, but I think a stronger flavor would be better. Thank you for the meal.

Located about a 3-minute walk from Fushimi Inari Station, I visited the restaurant "Doi Katsu Unagi" for the first time without getting lost. I had been wanting to visit this place for a while. Today, I was in the mood for eel, so I decided to go there. The parking lot in front of the restaurant can accommodate 2 cars. When we arrived at 12:30, there were already 3 groups of customers seated at the 4-person tables, and we were shown to a 2-person table in the middle aisle. The staff promptly brought a bag stand for us. I ordered the regular size Unaju with a topping of fluffy Kinshi Tamago (3,200 yen). Lately, I haven't been able to eat much, so I opted for a smaller portion. I wanted to get the energy boost from the eel. It was my first time trying the Kinshi Tamago topping. While waiting, I enjoyed the scent of the eel being charcoal grilled. The eel served had a subtle sauce. The charcoal-grilled flavor was prominent. When I felt the sauce was not enough, they brought an extra sauce bottle for me to add. I prefer a bit more sauce on my eel, so I added some more and enjoyed it. The Kinshi Tamago was delicious when eaten with the sauce. It was like a fake Unagi roll without the eel (laughs). The miso soup was a bit salty but the fu (wheat gluten) was cute. The pickles were also tasty. Thank you very much. It was a delicious meal. I will visit again.

It was Sunday, but it was calm and easy to eat because there were few people due to the rain. The eel was cooked plump and delicious as always. I visit this place often, but sometimes it is overcooked, so I would like to see some improvement in that. I highly recommend this place to eel lovers. The miso soup and rolled omelette also have a refined taste and are delicious.
The sauce is light, not too sweet, and not overpowering, which is nice. You can change the liver dish to a clear soup. The eel was slightly overcooked today, but usually it has a nice level of char. The eel is tender and not at all fishy. I would definitely like to go back again.

Last Sunday, I met a woman at my favorite izakaya in Osaka. In our conversation, she mentioned, "We have an eel restaurant in Fushimi, Kyoto." I was intrigued and asked, "Oh, where?" She replied, "Doi Katsu Unagi." I had been curious about this place for a while, so I decided to visit it yesterday after work. The restaurant had a quiet atmosphere with only two groups of customers. I ordered the "Unaju Tokujou 4600" and patiently waited. The eel was served in a beautiful lacquered box with four large pieces, accompanied by rice, soup, and pickles. The eel had a crispy skin with a nice balance of fat and a delicious aroma. The rice was well-cooked, and the sauce was provided separately for you to adjust to your liking. I tried the eel alone, with rice, with a bit of sauce, and even sprinkled some Hida Sansho pepper I had brought along. The combination was fantastic. I finished every last bite and as I left, I noticed the eels were from Kanemitsu. Overall, it was a top-ranking eel restaurant in Kyoto. Great meal!

Doi Katsuman's premium grilled eel, a must-try for those who love the melt-in-your-mouth texture, along with the firm texture of the grilled white meat. The white grilled eel with rock salt is amazing! The liver dish is also delicious and comforting. Added a new information section: I will write about which shrines are near the store. I hope it will be helpful for you.

I visited here on my mother's birthday because my mother loves eel. I might have caused a little trouble because I have a small child, so I'm sorry. The eel was very fluffy and delicious. It's a sinful taste that makes you want more rice. It's a bit disappointing that the soup wasn't liver soup. It's a bit pricey, but I would like to treat myself to a special meal like this someday. The eel in the picture is about three times as much as that! It must be incredibly delicious, like being taken to heaven. Eel is full of nutrients, which is great!

Unagi (eel) rice bowl - large serving with shredded egg on top, priced at 4,050 yen. Visited with a rating of 3.15 on Tabelog. Parking available for up to 3 cars. It's been a while since I took a paid day off, so I decided to treat myself. The eel, grilled over charcoal, had crispy skin and tender meat. Eel is just so delicious, isn't it?

Since coming to Osaka in October last year, I hadn't eaten eel here. Today, I came to see the thousands of torii gates at Fushimi Inari Shrine and found this eel restaurant nearby by searching the internet for lunch. I ordered the deluxe eel set meal (5,300 yen). It came with grilled eel, eel wrapped in kelp, and pickles. There was an additional charge for the eel liver. As you might know, Kanto-style grilled eel is steamed before being grilled, resulting in a fluffy texture. I like this texture. Kansai-style grilled eel, on the other hand, is known for its fragrant aroma, but how about the fluffy texture? It may vary depending on the restaurant, and preferences differ, but as someone who is used to steamed and grilled eel, I prefer the Kanto style. Perhaps because it was the deluxe set, there was more than enough grilled eel. I changed the flavor with sansho pepper towards the end. Otherwise, I would have felt too full from the fat. Because I'm getting older. (laughs) I wish I had tried the eel wrapped in kelp too, instead of getting the deluxe set.

Eelーーー*°♡I love you*°♡ Recently, I've been feeling a bit low on energy, so I searched for a nearby restaurant in my neighborhood. I love eel, so I was pleasantly surprised to find one nearby (ᐢ*´꒳`*ᐢ) We toasted with beer and highballs, then had 3 cups of sake each. We drank at a similar pace, which made me happy*°♡ There were only two types of sake available, and even though they were described as dry, they were quite sweet. I found them slightly too sweet, but the taste itself was very delicious❁⃘*.゚❁⃘*.゚ For food, we had eel rolls, eel sashimi, half-size grilled eel, and hitsumabushi. My companion was eating light for dinner, so the hitsumabushi without rice was perfect as a side for our drinks*°♡ I know I need to boost my energy, so I was recommended to try hitsumabushi with rice. I love hitsumabushi with wasabi and dashi to finish it off*°♡ The set came with a clear soup, which was not eel liver soup as expected, but I'm not a big fan of that anyway, so it was fine! The hitsumabushi had the perfect balance of wasabi spiciness and eel portion, making me feel energized*°♡ Thank you*°♡ The vinegar in the eel sashimi was just right, and the egg in the eel roll was a bit off in texture, a bit too slimy. Overall, I was very satisfied with the hitsumabushi*°♡

On Sunday afternoon, I visited a restaurant and ordered the regular size una-ju for 2800 yen. It included delicious eel with rolled omelet, pickled eel and cucumber, and una-don. I used to live in Shizuoka, so I have eaten a lot of eel before. The una-ju was reasonably priced for the amount of eel you get, and it was satisfying. The eel was grilled without steaming, making the skin crispy and the meat tender. However, the sauce was a bit too sharp and didn't blend well with the eel's flavor, which was a bit disappointing.

On our 28th wedding anniversary, my wife wanted to eat eel, so our family of four went to a restaurant. We ordered eel dishes with different cuts - regular had 2 pieces, upper had 3 pieces, and the highest grade had almost a whole eel cut into 4 pieces. We ordered 3 portions of upper grade for the three of us, and I ordered a single portion of the highest grade for myself. The eel was carefully grilled to perfection, with a crispy and fragrant skin that was delicious. However, my wife, who requested the meal, didn't enjoy the crispy skin as she found it too tough. Unfortunately, I ended up feeling very bloated and uncomfortable afterwards, perhaps due to the excessive oiliness of the eel. It was our first time eating eel at a restaurant, so I wonder if this is the norm for eel dishes.

Located not far from Fushimi Inari. We were able to enter without waiting in line before the last order at 2:30 pm for lunch, thanks to the coronavirus maybe? As rumored, the eel was thick, the skin was crispy, and it was very delicious. I had the grilled eel on rice. I would like to go again.

I arrived at the restaurant 5 minutes before opening and there were already 3 groups in line. Maybe it's because it's the second Unagi Day? More people lined up behind me, and when the restaurant opened, it was already full. The smell of charcoal filled the air inside. I ordered the Unagi Donburi, but I noticed many people ordering Hitsumabushi, which seemed to be served quickly. The staff and the owner were moving around like on a battlefield. I was about the 10th in line, but the owner skillfully prepared the dishes in just 30 minutes. The eel was thick and delicious. There were some burnt parts, but they weren't bitter, just perfectly grilled. It was a bit disappointing that they didn't serve the eel liver, but overall, it was a great meal. I heard that it's not as crowded at night.
