Curry Tokyo Hyakumeiten 2019. Visited on Sunday at 13:50, with one group of four customers already seated. Since it was a Sunday, the lunch menu was not available, but the cheapest set was priced at 800 yen. Looking at the map, upon arrival, the sign said "izakaya" so I hesitated a bit, but since it was Sunday lunch, I thought it would be okay and went up the stairs? Huh? It said 3-4F but there's an entrance on the 2nd floor? Opening the door, I realized there were stairs after all! I'm not sure why the door is in the middle, but I went up the stairs and arrived at the restaurant. I decided to try something unfamiliar from the menu, so I ordered the Diro set for 1500 yen, and the recommended Mix with Bara for 550 yen. A mini salad arrived quickly, just a regular salad with sesame dressing. It took a bit of time for the Diro set to arrive, about 15 minutes, and it was huge! It was much bigger than I imagined, with two pieces instead of one. It felt like eating soba kaki. The curry was a new sensation, and it was quite filling compared to rice. There were various toppings, like curry stir-fried potatoes and cauliflower, and another yellow one seemed to be daikon curry. The green one was curry soup. The Diro set allows you to choose two types of curry, and I chose lamb and pork. It was between medium-spicy and spicy, and it's bone-in meat so you need to be careful when eating. The orange one had a sour taste, maybe for flavoring? Next to it was some oily fish? The yogurt was not sweet. There were various other toppings, offering a wide variety. After about 5 minutes, the Bara arrived, which was like a Nepalese-style omelette. It was more like a deep-fried pancake than a regular omelette. It was quite large for the price. I tried my best to finish it, but I couldn't eat about one onigiri's worth of the Diro. The total bill came to 2050 yen including tax, and I was able to pay by card. I would like to try other menu items next time, but I think I'll skip the additional orders.
