After being recommended by a colleague, I visited this restaurant called Araki Omurice. As the name suggests, their specialty is omurice. I ordered the Omurice M set, which came with a side of pork cutlet. I thought the M size rice would be enough for me, but it turned out to be more than I expected. The egg was cooked just the way I like it, and the ketchup rice inside the omelette was delicious. The pork cutlet in the set was crispy and tasty. The Omurice M set with a side dish and salad for 900 yen was a great deal. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for the meal.

I revisited a restaurant where I had a delicious omurice before. I ordered the omurice S size, salad, and crab cream croquette ladies set for 750 yen. Despite the high cost of living, the prices have not increased, which is much appreciated. The omurice is S size, but it seems like a regular size portion. The taste is, of course, delicious. It's easy for even one person to enter, so I will definitely stop by again.

At an omelette rice restaurant, a rice dish that looks like chicken rice turns out to be more like Napolitan. Some people may have their preferences, but the rice has a strong flavor and can be quite filling. The portion is quite large, so your stomach will definitely be full. I ordered the ladies' set, which anyone can order, not just women.

This is a restaurant near Sumiyoshi bus stop in Kyoto City that serves omurice and Western-style dishes. Whenever I feel like having omurice, I visit this place. The omurice comes with a salad as a set, and I particularly enjoy the omurice set with an additional Western dish. This time, I ordered the omurice in medium size with white sauce, plus shrimp fry set. As of June 2023 (tax included), the omurice set (medium size) costs 900 yen. The prices have remained the same for two years since my first visit, showing the owner chef's dedication. The omurice here tastes like the typical Western-style diners in town. The white sauce is light, allowing the flavor of the ketchup rice to stand out. The Parmesan cheese and bell pepper add a nice touch. The medium size is satisfying, and the shrimp fry, though small, comes with three pieces instead of the usual two due to their size. It is a standard shrimp fry served with tartar sauce, which complements the light white sauce well. The set salad includes tomato, onion, corn, cucumber, lettuce, cabbage, and potato salad with French dressing. Overall, I enjoyed the omurice and shrimp fry from this classic Western-style diner.

I ordered the Omurice S set. The sauce was demi-glace, and I also ordered cream croquette and hamburger to share. The cream croquette had a slightly firm but rich and delicious cream. The hamburger was well-seasoned, juicy, and flavorful without any unpleasant smell. Both dishes had a homemade taste which I really enjoyed. The Omurice had a nostalgic Showa era flavor, with a strong ketchup taste on the rice. The egg was thinly wrapped around the rice, making the ketchup rice stand out. Even the S size Omurice had a generous amount of rice, providing a satisfying meal. Personally, I preferred the Western-style side dishes over the Omurice. Considering the cost performance, both the Omurice and side dishes were voluminous, making it a good value for the price. They also provided a pitcher of water, and the service was fast and the dishes were served hot.

This is a restaurant near Sumiyoshi bus stop in Kyoto City that serves omurice and Western-style dishes. I visited to enjoy the tomato sauce, as I had already tried five different sauces for omurice. I ordered the omurice set lunch which comes with a salad, and added an extra dish from the Western menu - a crab cream croquette. The omurice set (medium size) costs 900 yen. The crab cream croquette can be served with standard sauce, tomato sauce, or without sauce. I chose to have the omurice with tomato sauce and the crab cream croquette without sauce. The salad was served first, with familiar ingredients like tomato, onion, corn, cucumber, lettuce, cabbage, and potato salad with French dressing. The main dish was a generous portion of omurice with a mild sweet and sour tomato sauce that paired well with the ketchup-flavored rice cooked with bell pepper, bacon, and onion. The Parmesan powder and hint of bell pepper aroma made it appetizing. The crab cream croquette was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, with visible crab meat fibers. It was surprisingly rich without the sauce, highlighting the sweetness of the cream. I personally preferred it without sauce. Overall, I enjoyed the omurice and crab cream croquette at this cozy Western-style restaurant in town.

Today, I suddenly felt like eating omurice, so I went to "Omurice Araki" for lunch. I ordered the M-sized omurice set. The omurice here is not the fluffy type, but rather wrapped in thinly cooked egg with a choice of 5 different sauces. The set comes with a Western-style topping. I usually choose either pork cutlet or hamburger for the topping, and since the Western dish already has demi-glace sauce, I opt for a sauce other than demi-glace for the omurice. I really like the pumpkin sauce, which surprisingly ranks 5th (last) in the popularity ranking. The rice inside the egg is a bit too ketchup-heavy and mushy, with a strong flavor, and because the Western dish already has demi-glace or ketchup, the sauce flavor may get overshadowed. However, the portion size is generous and the restaurant is located in the suburbs with a parking lot, so it tends to attract quite a few male customers. It's a place where even a man dining alone feels comfortable. Personally, when I crave omurice, this is the place I go to. (Today, I visited with my wife.)

I visited after 10 years and the omurice was just as delicious as before, with the same taste. I had the omurice demi-glace and hamburger set. The menu had changed slightly, but the taste and price remained the same as before. It's amazing to see prices like this in today's world. The owner seemed healthy and that was the best part.

If you're ever unsure where to go, you'll definitely be satisfied here! It fills up quickly once it opens, so I always aim to go around 11 o'clock! It's an omurice restaurant, but I always go for the set meal! I usually choose the fried chicken and the minced cutlet! I wonder if it's the heat at the restaurant that makes the breading so crispy, it's something I can't achieve at home. It's super delicious! Next time, I'll try ordering the shrimp fry!

It's an omelette rice restaurant, but I always order the set meal! I went a little after 11 o'clock today, so it was quite crowded. But the service is fast, and I'm very satisfied because I can choose my favorite main dish! This time, I chose fried chicken and minced cutlet! The crispy texture of the batter is unique to this restaurant, isn't it? I wish I could make it this crispy at home too! The fried chicken is also delicious with salt and black sesame sprinkled on top! I want to go again!

Yesterday for lunch, I went to "Omurice Araki" in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto. It's within walking distance from Fushimi Station, and even though I used to live nearby, I had no idea it was there! I found it on Tabelog, and it feels like a hidden gem with a solid rating of 3.46. I arrived around 11:30 and it was already full of customers! They only have parking for 3 cars, but luckily one spot was open for me. I ordered the omurice set with a choice of 6 different sauces, and I went with the classic demi-glace sauce. There are 6 set menu options, and I chose the crab cream croquette. The omurice had a nostalgic, old-fashioned taste to it. The egg was thin and packed with chicken rice inside. The ketchup flavor was irresistible. The crab cream croquette also had a comforting, familiar taste. If you're craving nostalgic, home-cooked omurice, this is the place to go!

It's been a few years since I last visited. Despite it being close to 1pm, there are a few customers trickling in. I ordered the Omurice set, opting for the minced cutlet. It arrived in about 10 minutes, and even though it was a small size, the Omurice was quite large. It had ham and green peppers in it. The minced cutlet was big but tough. The name of the restaurant, "1960," refers to the 60s, as I was told by the owner before. It truly tastes like something from the 60s, but it's not very delicious. The regular customers seem to order the 550 yen daily bento.

Around 12:10, I entered the restaurant and it was about 60% full. I was greeted by a friendly server and seated at the counter. Instead of ordering omurice, I chose the Western set for 850 yen. I could pick 2 items for the set, so I chose the hamburger and crab cream croquette. Other options included fried chicken, pork cutlet, minced cutlet, and shrimp fry. The hamburger was mild and had a classic Western taste. It wasn't very meaty, but it was still delicious with a good balance of flavors. The cream croquette was a bit thick in texture, with a crispy coating that paired well with the cream, especially with the tomato sauce. I would love to try it with the pork cutlet. The variety of side dishes was satisfying. Although I have visited the restaurant a few times, I have yet to try the omurice, which I will definitely order next time. There is a parking lot next to the restaurant that can accommodate 3 cars.

I visited the restaurant around 11 am on a weekday during my day off. There was one customer before me and six customers after me, so it was moderately busy. I ordered the omurice set in medium size with green curry sauce, and for the Western dish, I chose pork cutlet. There was a lunch special advertised on the TV in the restaurant for this week, which was pork cutlet and shrimp fry for 750 yen. Most customers ordered the daily special bento for 550 yen, which was minced cutlet that day. It had been a while since my last visit, but the onions and green peppers were quite large, and the omurice with green curry sauce was delicious. However, I wished there was a bit more sauce. The pork cutlet was on the smaller side, but it came in a set of two pieces, so it was quite filling. The freshly fried cutlet was easy to eat, and the smaller cuts were convenient. I left the restaurant fully satisfied with a full stomach. I really like the cozy atmosphere of this place.

I heard from a friend that there is a delicious omurice restaurant, so I went there for lunch. It was around 1 pm on a weekday, and there were quite a few customers. It had a vibe of a local Western-style restaurant. I ordered the omurice set in size S. You could choose one side dish, so I chose the shrimp fry. Initially, I ordered the M size, but the staff informed me that even the S size had about one and a half bowls of rice, so I switched to S size. You could also choose from about 5 different sauces for the omurice. I went with the popular demi-glace sauce. The set also came with a salad. The salad was substantial with tomatoes, cucumbers, and potato salad. The main omurice dish in size S was quite voluminous. It was made fresh after ordering, so it was piping hot, and the omurice had a nice semi-soft texture. Inside the omurice, there were green peppers, onions, and bacon mixed with ketchup rice, which was delightful. It was delicious. They also have other Western-style sets besides omurice, so I would like to go back and try them.

I decided to go to lunch this week at Omurice Araki 1960 in a residential area in Fushimi, Kyoto. I like the omelette rice set with demiglace sauce and hamburger where you can taste the bell peppers in the ketchup rice. It was delicious to eat it together with the mild demiglace sauce. The hamburger and omelette rice have a nostalgic and delicious taste, and you can feel the 60 years of history in the flavor. I felt warm and cozy enjoying the deliciousness of a restaurant loved by the local community. I hope they continue to operate energetically for a long time. Thank you for the meal.

Today, instead of taking the bus as usual, I decided to walk. While strolling down a backstreet, I stumbled upon a Western-style restaurant. It's located two streets east from the Takeda Kaido heading south. The nearest bus stop is Sumiyoshi, but it's a bit confusing because it's split between northbound and southbound stops with no clear markers. I had originally planned to go to a ramen shop, but I changed my mind and stopped by this hidden gem for lunch. The signboard caught my eye, especially the omurice. I had been wanting to try omurice for a while, but the prices at traditional Western restaurants always held me back. When Pom no Ki opened a branch, I went to check it out but ended up going to Sukiya after seeing the prices. It has really become quite expensive. After that long introduction, I finally had omurice for the first time in years, excluding supermarket versions. I think the last time was at Daikokuya. This time, I opted for the M-sized omurice lunch with tomato sauce. As of April 2023 (including tax), it costs ¥750. The meal comes with a salad consisting of cabbage, lettuce, tomato, onion, corn, cucumber, and potato salad with French dressing. The omurice is topped with an orange-colored tomato sauce (more orange than in the photo) sprinkled with Parmesan. Lately, ketchup has been too sweet and overpowering in many dishes, but this sauce was more subtle and likable. The ketchup rice also has bits of green bell pepper for added flavor. Instead of chicken, pork is used in the dish, so it's not chicken rice. Chicken rice seems to have disappeared completely. Overall, the omurice from this local Western restaurant was quite satisfying in terms of portion size for an M-sized serving. I later ordered the white sauce, which pairs well with cheese. The creamy sauce is smooth and has a gentle flavor. Demiglace sauce, on the other hand, has a rich taste and is more modern in style. It seems like a sauce that many people would enjoy. Personally, I don't like how it interferes with the ketchup rice. Demiglace sauce would probably be best suited for hamburgers. Green curry sauce has a mild flavor with the curry's spiciness acting as an accent. When tasted alone, it's like curry, but when eaten with the egg and rice, the curry flavor isn't as prominent. The cheese has a taste similar to butter. Pumpkin sauce has a soft sweetness to it. The color is a beautiful yellow, different from actual pumpkins. Those who have tried pumpkin soup or desserts like sweet pumpkin cream or chestnut paste will appreciate this sauce. In these times of rising prices, these dishes offer excellent value for money. So, feel free to enjoy some omurice without breaking the bank.

The omurice set in medium size costs 900 yen and includes omurice, salad, and one Western dish. I felt about 85% full after eating it. Maybe the small size would have been enough? I chose the hamburger as the Western dish, which came with demiglace sauce. For the omurice, I chose tomato sauce. The ketchup rice in the omurice was a bit too mushy for my liking. If they reduced the amount of ketchup and added a bit of salt and pepper, it would be closer to my preferred ketchup rice. The hamburger was delicious, with the perfect flavor and texture. Overall, I was satisfied. If I come back next time, I think I'll order the Western set with the hamburger and another dish. Thank you for the meal.
