I visited the popular yakiniku restaurant "Yakiniku Dining Kinoe Oshikoji Honten" in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto, where you can enjoy premium brand beef such as Omi beef, Matsusaka beef, and Kobe beef. Today's recommended menu included the salt-grilled Shinshita of Wagyu, a cut from below the tongue that offers a unique and flavorful taste. The Omi beef Kaonomi was thick, tender, and had a sweet richness from the marbling. The dishes were served on five separate plates with sauce, each to be used for different purposes. The Omi beef Togarashi was lean and refreshing, best enjoyed seared with wasabi. The Omi beef trio assortment included the Omi beef top loin, which was perfectly cooked and served on rice. With all these dishes, the total cost per person was very reasonable at 6,500 yen. You can't underestimate the yakiniku restaurants in Kyoto. It was a delicious meal.

I made a reservation at 8:00 PM. Today, I ordered a variety of items. The appeal of this place is the various types of yukhoe they offer. I ordered tongue, kalbi, harami, tofu salad, Korean yukhoe, raw egg over rice, and half cold noodles. The service was really fast. The table quickly filled up, so I felt rushed. The side dishes were really delicious, and the meat was all high quality. It came out to 11,000 yen for two people. At the end, they gave us grapes for dessert, which made me happy. I always look forward to this at the main branch.

Around 6:00 PM, we visited with 2 people. It's located near the northwest of Kyoto City Hall, around Oshikoji Yanaginobaba. We visited "Yakiniku Dining Kō," where you can enjoy recommended cuts of Kobe beef, Matsusaka beef, Omi beef, and even 18 different variations of Omi beef Yukke.
- Omi beef top loin: 1,540 yen
- Omi beef marbled kalbi: 1,760 yen
- Omi beef fillet: 2,640 yen
- Matsusaka beef inner thigh: 1,980 yen

[Food we tried]
- Special selection thigh meat yukke: 1,980 yen
Thickly sliced thigh meat with beautiful marbling, a firm meaty texture, and a sweet fatty richness that melts with each chew, releasing the umami of the meat fat.

- Matsusaka beef inner thigh: 1,980 yen
- Kobe beef cream: 1,980 yen
Omi beef marbled kalbi offers the enjoyment of fatty richness. Matsusaka beef inner thigh and Kobe beef cream are leaner with a strong meaty flavor and refreshing taste.

A rare restaurant where you can enjoy Japan's top three wagyu beef at once. We especially enjoyed the Omi beef. Thank you for the meal. #Yakiniku #KyotoYakiniku #MatsusakaBeef #OmiBeef #KobeBeef #Gourmet #KyotoGourmet #WantToConnectWithGourmetLovers #WantToConnectWithYakinikuLovers

A well-balanced and good restaurant overall♪ They have a wide variety of yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), which is quite rare to see so many options in one place. It's a must-visit for yukhoe lovers. Not just yukhoe, the meat is also delicious♪ The kimchi, kuppabap (mixed rice), and salad are all tasty! Personally, I like that they serve the egg over rice with yakiniku sauce instead of soy sauce to give it a unique flavor, although I prefer soy sauce (sorry).

My daughter requested to eat meat, so I quickly searched online and found a restaurant available from 8:30 pm. I arrived early and asked if it was okay to enter, and the staff kindly allowed me in. I ordered the Kobe beef special misuji, Kobe beef cream, Wagyu roast beef, yukhoe, tongue salt, hoso, cheese stone bibimbap, Caesar salad, draft beer, bottled beer, peach squash, yuzu squash, and appetizers. The Kobe beef special misuji was delicious with a good portion size. The Kobe beef cream was slightly tough but still flavorful. The Wagyu roast beef was cooked perfectly by the staff and tasted amazing with grated ponzu sauce. The yukhoe had a variety of options, and the normal one was delicious. I want to try the cheese yukhoe next time. The cheese stone bibimbap was overwhelming with eggplant, cucumber, and kimchi, which I don't like, so my wife ate most of it. The Caesar salad had a good portion size and was tasty. The appetizer, chapchae, was also delicious with a generous portion. Finally, dessert was served, and I was satisfied with the whole experience. I would love to come back again. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing work in the afternoon, I reconnected with two friends who live in Kyoto at night. They recommended this hidden gem of a restaurant just a street north of the main road. We ordered the indulgent meat full course menu, including a dish of raw beef, which I haven't had in a long time. It was delicious. The thinly sliced meat was cooked on a hot plate like shabu-shabu, then dipped in raw egg. It was also very tasty. We ordered more generous servings of various meats, and our bellies were full by the end of the night. The conversation with my friends was entertaining and I felt grateful that they treated me to this meal. Friends who have shared meals together in their younger days are lifelong connections.

A lively atmosphere where locals and inbound tourists gather, offering Matsusaka beef and Omi beef at relatively reasonable prices. Personally, the harami (skirt steak) was the best I've ever had, and the grilled sukiyaki is also recommended! The shigure-ni rice bowl we had at the end was delicious too. I would love to visit this place again when I come to Kyoto.

At first, I had the truffle Yukke which was delicious. The tongue was served in thin slices and thick slices. The thick slices were tender and really tasty. I also tried the sinew meat which was refreshing but still flavorful. The chunk meat is a must-order, it's tender and juicy. The rice was also delicious. Overall, it's worth stretching out for. The only downside is that the restaurant can get noisy, especially on Saturday nights with tourists and groups chatting loudly. But if you don't mind the noise, you can still enjoy the delicious food.

The tablet for ordering was faulty, so it took 10 minutes from entering the store to drinking a draft beer. It's better to verbally order the first drink and kimchi. The premium beef tartare is exquisite and better than the regular one. The staff are fluent in English and good at serving foreign customers. There are also some menu items for solo diners.

My go-to yakiniku place is here, Kousan. There are several branches but I've only been to this one. They started offering lunch during the pandemic so I want to try it. They have semi-private booths and sunken kotatsu seats. Ordering is smooth with a touch panel. When it comes to Kousan, gotta go for the yukhoe. I ordered both Korean yukhoe and cheese yukhoe, along with various other meats. The rice goes down so easily. It's a reliable restaurant.

The interior of the restaurant is not too bright or too dark, with a sense of cleanliness. The tables are separated by roll curtains, allowing for a relaxing dining experience. We started with the yukhoe, which had a good amount of marbling but tasted of lean meat with no greasiness. The sauce was just right, not too strong or sweet. The tongue also had a nice color and no unpleasant smell, making it delicious. We also tried the special sirloin sukiyaki, which was cooked by the staff. It was about 3mm thick and had a good amount of chewiness. Personally, I prefer thinner cuts like those from Shin-san or Yazawa-san, but my younger companion enjoyed this thicker cut the most. We also had two types of red wine, served slightly chilled, allowing us to savor the flavor changes. The restaurant had thorough measures in place for infection prevention, and there was no lingering smell after the meal. It was a lovely and clean restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

[Location & Parking] Located between Oike and Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station.
[Date & Crowdedness] Reserved at 7:30 PM at the end of the year. Fully booked, with reservations every 2 hours.
[Tasting Experience!!!] Kuro's assorted platter 5,500 yen, Tan salt 1,430 yen, Toro tetchan 990 yen, Kimchi assorted platter 770 yen, Grilled meat restaurant's egg over rice 440 yen. This restaurant has an easy-to-use touch panel. They provide 4 types of sauce and wasabi from the start, which is nice. The Tan salt was delicious. It felt like I had eaten delicious Tan after a long time. The assorted platter had 6 types and was satisfying. For the old man, the Kalbi and Harami were a bit too fatty, but delicious. Due to my age, I tend to prefer lean meat. The egg over rice had a sweet and salty sauce that didn't suit my taste. I wanted something refreshing with soy sauce for the finish (lol). Well, it's strange to want something refreshing with egg over rice.

I went to a slightly higher-end yakiniku restaurant because I didn't want to deal with the crowded and cramped places due to the current situation. The meat was delicious as expected, with a nice flavor of fat.

- Chinese cabbage: Not my favorite taste

- Bibimbap: Average, not my preferred taste.
The service by the staff was good, and overall, I think it's a good restaurant.

During the state of emergency, my friend and I had an early dinner with non-alcoholic drinks. The variety of yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) was quite impressive. For those who love raw meat, it's great to be able to enjoy different flavors. The grilled dishes were also quite tasty. It feels like a typical yakiniku restaurant these days. The touch panel ordering system is convenient in that you don't have to call for service every time, but I'm not a big fan of it. It feels a bit cheap in terms of atmosphere. Nevertheless, it's convenient. The surprise kimchi was delicious! It had kelp in it, giving it a Japanese-style kimchi flavor. I usually hate cucumbers, but I ended up eating them all.

I was curious about the many types of Yukke, so I decided to visit. After much deliberation, I chose the salt and Korean-style Yukke. Both were delicious. The meat was tender and juicy! I wanted to try different cuts, so I regret not choosing the course option. You can order using a touch panel and select a course on the spot. Personally, I wish they had aprons prepared at the table. When I finished eating, I saw used aprons at other tables and realized that you had to request them through the touch panel. It's quite important, so it would have been helpful to have some explanation.

The yakiniku was very delicious! Being able to eat yukke was the best part, with a variety of flavors to enjoy! Ordering is done through an electronic menu using an iPad, which is quite advanced! Payment can be made with cash, credit card, or PayPay.

It was my partner's birthday, so we went to eat yakiniku together as requested! When I called on Saturday evening, they said they had availability for 9 pm. We were seated in a private room and ordered using a touch panel, so we felt safe even during the pandemic!
Everything was delicious, but the highlights were the yukhoe and tongue.
- The tongue was incredibly tender and juicy. It had been a while since I had yakiniku, and I couldn't stop savoring the taste!
- The basil and cream cheese yukhoe had a basil flavor at first, but ended with a refreshing yukhoe taste.
- The bonito flakes yukhoe was packed with umami and was very tasty!
- The lean meat was also very tender! Even though I accidentally overcooked one piece, it was still tender and impressive.
Since the portions are generous, it might be better to order gradually while keeping an eye on the situation.
Below is a rough list of what we ordered:
- Basil and cream cheese yukhoe
- Bonito flakes yukhoe
- Tongue
- Harami (skirt steak)
- Lean meat
- Assorted offal
- Assorted kimchi
- Egg over rice
- Cheese bibimbap

I visited Yakiniku Dining Kousan located on Yanaginobabaoshiro in Kyoto. They purchase a whole Omi beef, so you can enjoy good quality meat at a reasonable price. We ordered the 7000 yen course with all-you-can-drink. It started with Yukke, then tongue, followed by a meat platter, chicken, and hormone. They asked for our rice order at the beginning, showing attention to detail. You can order drinks on a touch panel and they are served promptly. It's a great place for dining alone or for group gatherings once the situation with COVID-19 improves. There are many places where drinks are not served promptly during all-you-can-drink. The quality of service and the taste and quantity of the meat at this price point were highly satisfying.

Near the city hall, Kousan's main store, a lot of families, with private rooms for COVID-19 measures like disinfection, ventilation, and touch panel ordering. Even early in the day, reservations are fully booked. Chapchae as a complimentary dish. This time, the gourmet master recommended the Yukke. The reason is not only delicious but also because there are 18 types of Yukke here. This was a tough decision. Truffle Yukke, Ichibo Yukke, it's easy to tell the difference here. Truly a certified store with Omi beef Sagari, Omi beef Kainomi, Iwate Jinsai beef Misuji Yaki Shabu, Iwate Jinsai beef Climi lump meat steak, Matsusaka beef Necktie, Matsusaka beef Frank, Tsukuba Jokoku beef Rib Roast Yaki Sukiyaki. The master and the staff cook the meat superbly. This might be the most delicious meat I've ever had. It's fun to try various ways of eating. The finale, Wagyu Shigure Don, with a ginger flavor and addictively sweet and savory taste. Truly satisfied. Thank you very much.
