It has been four years since my last visit. The year after my last visit was when the infamous coronavirus pandemic hit, disrupting the entire year, and I never got around to visiting Fushimi again. However, since my visit to Torisei Kyoto Tower Sand store this winter, I had made up my mind to visit Fushimi again before the year ends. Fushimi was not originally on my list for early summer, but I was determined to go this time, especially because of Torisei. After leaving Fushimi Inari and getting off at Momoyama Goryo-Mae on the Keihan Line, I admired the Uji River diversion where the Jukkokusen boats pass, and the sake brewery of Tsukasabotan. Then, I looked at the exterior of Teradaya. I initially planned to have a beer at Kizakura Sakaba, but for some reason, it was closed on that day. Oh well. Let's head to the main store at last. I entered the store with high spirits, and luckily there were no waiting customers, but then reservation customers started to arrive, so I had to wait for about 10 minutes. Finally, I was seated at a table and looked at the menu. I chose the B set of the slightly drunk set, and opted for beer or nama genshu, choosing the former. The beer was Asahi Super Dry. I'm not a big fan, but the first sip always feels special. The appetizers included pickled vegetables, 5 types of yakitori, and chicken prosciutto, making it a great deal. The yakitori was minced meat, meaty and flavorful, with ginger as a nice accent. Sunazuri had a crunchy texture and a firm umami flavor. The liver was delicious. The heart? Delicious. Negima, of course, this is a must-have. The chicken prosciutto was like prosciutto, making the beer go down smoothly. After having a refill of beer, I used a service voucher (received annually when purchasing sake from Yamamoto Honke online, getting "genshu" in return) to try the "duck loin". The duck loin had no gamey taste and was delicious, pairing well with sake. The sake was a divine dry type, refreshing and tasty. The sauce was also a dry type, perfect for starting off. I was already feeling tipsy, so I decided to stop here. Nevertheless, this restaurant is still fantastic as ever. Fushimi residents are lucky to have such a great place nearby.
