The restaurant seems to have a good reputation, so I was excited even before arriving. It's about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, and as I looked around, I spotted a chic and modern sign. The interior was bright and elegant, which raised my expectations. As we walked towards the entrance, a male staff member greeted us promptly. He was efficient but not rushed, which I appreciated. We handed over our shoes and received a stylish and cute keychain for the shoe locker, which was a black circular keychain about 5-6cm in diameter. The restaurant has been open for about a year, and everything was clean and well-maintained. The staff mentioned that the Karamon branch has been in business for about 10 years. Our table was a sunken kotatsu style, but there were also regular table seats, making it easy for elderly customers to use. Each table had a semi-private feel, so we didn't have to worry about other customers' gazes. We ordered the Kyoto Pork Dashi Shabu Kaiseki "Kannabi" course for 7,150 yen, which included a variety of dishes such as appetizers, sashimi, shabu-shabu, sushi, side dishes, udon, and dessert. The atmosphere was delightful, and the service was impeccable. The appetizers were served in a long black box, and when the lid was opened, we were amazed by the cute bite-sized dishes inside. The sashimi was unexpectedly delicious, and the shabu-shabu was a delightful experience. We also enjoyed the recommended sake, "Aosora," which was light and easy to drink. The restaurant's tableware was elegant and well-designed, adding to the overall dining experience. Overall, we had a great time and left feeling satisfied and happy.

Located just a few minutes' walk from Kyoto Station, right north of Shimo-kyo Ward Office, this restaurant has a stylish silver exterior. The interior is a mix of traditional Japanese and modern design. I tried the cheapest lunch course priced at 3,000 yen. It included appetizers, plenty of vegetables and fresh wheat gluten with pork shabu-shabu, rice, udon noodles, and matcha pudding. The taste and portion size were satisfying. The pork shabu-shabu was particularly delicious, especially when dipped in the flavorful broth with plenty of white onions. The option to add curry powder for a different taste was also interesting. Private rooms require an additional fee, but semi-private rooms are free to use. While it may be a bit pricey for personal use, I recommend it for special occasions or business purposes. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This is a shabu-shabu restaurant within walking distance from Kyoto Station. We had the evening course, which included sesame tofu in broth, fresh tuna sashimi, mackerel sushi, shabu-shabu with udon noodles, and matcha pudding for dessert. The tuna is sourced from Toyosu and the mackerel sushi is seared right in front of you, giving off a delicious aroma. The shabu-shabu comes with vegetables, Kyoto pork, beef, wheat gluten, and konjac, using red konjac from Omihachiman. It's recommended to wrap the meat in yellow leeks. You can enjoy changing the flavor by adding yuzu pepper or grated maple radish to the broth and ponzu. The udon noodles can also be turned into curry udon by adding curry powder to the broth. The spacious and beautiful Japanese-style interior has partitions for semi-private dining, allowing you to enjoy your meal without worrying about others.

The sake served in bamboo was delicious, with a slight thickness to it. The sake served with ice breaker was also tasty. It was a very hot day, so the chilled sake paired with eel was satisfying. When our bodies cooled down, we enjoyed shabu-shabu as well.

I visited Hyouto in front of Kyoto Station. Last time, I went to the Karasuma store. This time, I enjoyed the limited-time Hamo shabu-shabu. The Kyoto pork was consistently delicious, and the Hamo was also of high quality, making it delicious for the first time. Hyouto's broth is delicious, but I also recommend trying the sesame sauce for a change of taste.

I visited this restaurant for a customer's promotion celebration, and when the manager heard about it, he came to greet us and offered us mentaiko-yaki as a complimentary dish. Both the customer from Fukuoka Prefecture and the customer from Kyoto Prefecture were very satisfied and even made reservations for their next visit. Just like Hyoki in Akasaka, the all-you-can-drink option here is fantastic. I enjoyed draft beer, Kokuryu sake, and Sato shochu on the rocks.

I stopped by because I wanted to eat eel in Kyoto. It is a modern and sophisticated building close to Kyoto Station. I have used their shabu-shabu before, but this time I tried the eel course. I enjoyed the vinegar dishes and the eel shabu-shabu.

It's a quiet and nice restaurant with table seating and partitions, a short walk from Kyoto Station. The main dish is pork shabu-shabu where you can enjoy Kyoto's dashi culture. The lunch special on weekdays is quite a deal. It's recommended to order the course menu for a variety of options and value. You can enjoy the dashi flavor until the end, making it a great choice for those who want to savor the umami of dashi.

I visited during Golden Week and it was a busy time. Sometimes I didn't receive a wet towel. The taste was excellent, but I felt it was a bit expensive for the portion size. It might be good for tourists.

This Kyoto trip is also in its final countdown. I searched for a restaurant near Kyoto Station where I could enjoy the umami flavor of dashi, which is typical of Kyoto. The course I had was called "Brand Pork Dashi Shabu Kaiseki Murasou". It consisted of appetizer, sashimi, palate-cleanser, hot pot, dessert. The appetizer was sesame tofu, with a subtle sweetness and rich flavor that increased my expectations for the course. The sashimi was bonito and scallop, served with ponzu sauce instead of soy sauce, giving a Kyoto-like feel. Next was the palate-cleanser, which was a new experience for me as I'm not used to kaiseki cuisine. It was a great opportunity to learn something new. It's also a delight for tourists to be able to try Kyoto's famous mackerel sushi. Then came the hot pot, with the ingredients served on paper. The visual presentation emphasized the traditional Japanese style, further enhancing the mood. A variety of vegetables were laid out in the pot, with the Kyoto pork added in. The Kyoto pork was tender, sweet, and delicious. I dipped it in the sweet and mellow dashi broth. The broth had a strong sweetness, and the optional green onions were not too spicy, allowing me to fully enjoy the pork. The happiness of savoring delicious food filled me up. Additional shabu-shabu ingredients were available, and you could also add ponzu sauce or sesame dressing to the broth. Although it wasn't a private room, the seating arrangement provided a high level of privacy. As a tourist, each meal is a memory, so being able to enjoy a meal in a calm and relaxing atmosphere is much appreciated. It's only about a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station, which was convenient for me as I had to head back to JR Kyoto Station on my last day. The restaurant was compact, easy to understand, and encapsulated the image of Kyoto's flavors, allowing me to relax and enjoy without any stress.

Today, I came to Kyoto to accompany my husband on his business trip! On the way to the hotel, I found a nice shabu-shabu restaurant! I called to confirm and they said they could accommodate 2 people, so off we went! We ordered the Kyoto pork and snow crab dashi shabu-shabu course for 8,000 yen, along with some Kyoto sake. The appetizers included sesame tofu, seared mackerel sushi, and poached sea bream, all delicious and perfect with the sake. Then came the main shabu-shabu course! It included various vegetables, red konjac (which the server explained had iron in it), and fresh wheat gluten, giving it that Kyoto touch. We wrapped the meat in leeks and dipped it in the broth. While most people think of ponzu or sesame sauce with shabu-shabu, the leek and broth style was refreshing. The crab was also incredibly tasty, I wanted more! For dessert, we had a standard black sugar jelly. The last cup of hojicha tea was delicious too, overall a very satisfying meal. Thank you for the feast!

I used this restaurant for the first time for a family trip dinner to celebrate my daughter's graduation. The restaurant was clean and had a bright and pleasant atmosphere, with good ventilation. The food was delicious, with a light and subtle Kyoto-style flavor that didn't leave me feeling heavy or thirsty afterwards. Even though we chose the cheapest course at 5000 yen, we were very satisfied with the high quality of the dishes. The staff were friendly and when we mentioned it was a graduation celebration, they surprised us with a dessert including fireworks. It was a thoughtful gesture that touched us. When I visit Kyoto again, I will definitely come back here. Thank you very much.

Visit: 6:00 PM Price: 7500 yen course + drinks Meal: Reserved the course. Also ordered a crushed apple rock and a Hyouto sour. Easy to drink and delicious. Seating: Private room with a sunken kotatsu. Feet stay warm. If you're making a reservation, this is the place to go. Atmosphere: Kyoto-like. Both the exterior and interior are nice. Suitable for a date. Likely to revisit: Very likely Other: Ate here with family on the way back from Uji. Initially felt the meat portion was small, but ended up feeling just right after getting full. Sashimi was especially delicious.

On a regular day, I made a 7:00 pm reservation, but arrived at the station too early, so I contacted the restaurant to see if I could come in earlier. The restaurant seemed quite spacious with two floors. At the entrance, I informed the staff about my reservation, handed over my shoes, and received a key. I was then escorted to my table and chose the 5000 yen course which included appetizers, sashimi, a small dish, shabu-shabu (branded pork, vegetable platter, condiments, broth), udon, and dessert. Although additional dishes and meat were available for an extra charge, the course menu was filling enough. The appetizers and sashimi were delicious, and the shabu-shabu was amazing! Rolling the meat in the broth with plenty of green onions was a delightful experience. The homemade yuzu pepper and curry powder for the udon were also fantastic. We were so full by the end that we couldn't even make it to dessert. The young staff members provided excellent service, making our dining experience pleasant. I was truly impressed by how delicious the shabu-shabu was when eaten with the broth. If I ever crave something delicious and a bit luxurious, I would love to come back here. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I think it's a new restaurant! It took a while to be seated! The food was delicious, I ordered an 8000 yen course! The drinks were plentiful and satisfying, and the New Government No. 6 was reasonably priced! The only disappointing part was that we didn't get the udon and dessert at the end, haha.

"Hyo-to Kyoto Station Honten" is a restaurant where you can eat paper hot pots. I remember having something like this in Azabu over a decade ago, so I think it's a similar or related restaurant. I made a reservation for a course with all-you-can-drink option and visited. Shochu and whiskey were already on the table, with soda and ice available, so you can drink as you like. You have to take off your shoes, so you can relax. The calm Japanese atmosphere and relatively polite service allowed us to enjoy our meal and drinks in peace. The menu included sesame tofu, boiled yellowtail, marinated scallops with caviar, seared mackerel sushi, Kyoto-style shabu-shabu, vegetable platter, udon noodles in broth, and black sugar pudding for dessert. The Kyoto-style shabu-shabu was quite delicious, with tender meat and good color. It is made from a crossbreed of Landrace and Large Yorkshire sows with Duroc boars, resulting in a high-quality meat from a three-way crossbreed. You can have unlimited refills of green onions, so we were able to enjoy plenty of them.

I used this restaurant for entertaining customers. I made a reservation after checking the atmosphere, but my expectations may have been a bit too high. The pork shabu-shabu was very delicious, but the operation was mediocre. The drink service was slow, there were long periods without any drinks, and the amount of food was small, leaving us hungry at times. When we tried to order more, we were told they could only offer edamame or mentaiko. (Eventually we were allowed to order more, but the prices are quite high.) I felt they should put more effort into the customer service aspect. However, the taste was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I visited for the first time on my wedding anniversary☝️☝️ We had the course meal. First of all, the interior is very beautiful with a Japanese atmosphere. It was clean and calming, which was very nice☺️ We had our child with us, and there was a children's course and child-friendly chairs, which was great. However, the children's meal is more suitable for around 3 years old, so make sure to check that. The staff were very attentive and we were able to enjoy our meal comfortably. Thank you very much‍♂️

Kyoto (Kyoto Station front) Hyoto [@kyoto.hyoto] This time's order: - Lunch course ¥2,000 - Dashi shabu (selected pork, vegetable assortment, condiments, dashi) - Fresh udon (curry udon) Located about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station. I heard that the dashi here is very delicious so I decided to visit. The restaurant is very clean and has a great atmosphere! Reservations can be easily made online. This time, I ordered the affordable lunch course. You start by boiling the vegetables and then shabu-shabu the meat. The quality of the meat and vegetables is excellent, but what really stands out is the delicious dashi. It was my first time tasting such delicious dashi. They even add more dashi when it gets low, which is a nice touch. To finish, you add curry powder to the dashi and put in the fresh udon. It was definitely delicious. I'm glad I found this great restaurant. Thank you for the meal! I would love to go back when I visit Kyoto again.

I visited the Torimaru restaurant at Kyoto Station for the first time. The restaurant was a bit far from the station, and I didn't make a reservation. When I entered, the staff asked if I had a reservation, to which I replied no. They asked me to wait for a moment, and then they guided me to a seat. The interior of the restaurant was very clean, with semi-private seating areas separated by screens. We ordered a simple course with mostly just meat, as my friend wanted to eat a lot of meat. The meat seemed different from what I remembered – it was a bit tougher than before. We also ordered some Kyoto pork to try, but it was just okay. The broth used to be lighter and you could get free refills, but it seemed different this time. The food wasn't bad, but it didn't live up to our expectations.

I chose the course menu and every dish was delicious. I had Kyoto pork with vegetables, and the broth was tasty. Topped with plenty of condiments, I finished every bite. The restaurant has a cool interior design which I liked. The customers seemed younger than I expected. The staff members are also quite young! The service is not very attentive, but the flavors are solid. Thank you for the meal!
