It was for 2 hours starting at 6 pm, and the restaurant was spacious with excellent service from all the staff, making the dining experience very pleasant. The meat was delicious. It had been a while since I had yakiniku, so I went to Hiro in Kyoto. It's said to be a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station, but it actually took about 10 minutes as it's on the opposite side of the Shinkansen. The yukhoe was delicious! The kalbi was also delicious! The grilled shabu-shabu wrapped in leeks was also delicious! The meat was irresistible, but there were also many options for the finishing menu, making it hard to choose. After calming down, I chose the cold noodles and tail soup ramen for the finish. The cold noodles! The clear soup with a slightly thick texture was delicious, and I finished it in no time. It's refreshing but has a rich flavor. The service was also brisk and very pleasant. It was a very cost-effective restaurant with a non-alcoholic drink costing around 4,000 yen per person.

The food comes quite quickly after ordering. You can switch from grilling to eating meat without any stress. When it comes to Hiro, it is a yakiniku restaurant run by a famous butcher in Kyoto. The main store is located at the entrance of Senbon-dori on the Sanjo Shotengai shopping street in Senbon Sanjo. I used to live nearby for a long time and have many memories of this place. I would often buy raw liver and offal from the butcher shop, and cook motsu nabe at home. As for the yakiniku restaurant, initially there was only this place, one in Kiyamachi, and a high-end restaurant in Gion. Even now, Hiro is still mainly known as a butcher shop, and not considered a yakiniku chain at all. However, when I looked it up recently, I found out that there are many branches all over now. There are even 3 branches near Kyoto Station alone. I didn't even know that. Of course, as long as the taste is good, it's fine, and Hiro is not the type to serve strange meat. This place seemed suitable for families with children. However, it may not currently be at the level of offering high-quality meat like other popular yakiniku restaurants. The tongue was less than 2000 yen, and although it was USDA, it didn't quite measure up to the popular yakiniku places nowadays. The upper harami had a similar impression. Even though it may also be due to how the meat was cut by the staff, the children had trouble chewing it, and honestly, it didn't taste as good as expected. The thin, cheap cuts of loin and kalbi were ordered and managed to feed the children. The raw tripe was also just okay. There were various things like whether the onions were cooked in the right shape. Overall, the experience didn't quite meet the expectations, but for a family-friendly restaurant, it was not a problem at all. If in a similar situation, I would probably choose Toraji. There is also Daisogun nearby. I have no problem with multiple locations or chain restaurants, but if the quality cannot be maintained due to expansion, it's inevitable. The stylish presentation of the meat and menu composition truly live up to the name of a thriving yakiniku restaurant! The hidden gem menu item is the beef stew! The flavor is amazing, it must have been simmered for hours.

All the meats were incredibly delicious. I especially loved the meat wrapped in tongue and vegetables. It came out in a box, so it was perfect for photos! I usually go to all-you-can-eat yakiniku restaurants, so it was nice to have a little luxury for a change.

I visited the Hiro restaurant in Kyoto, which has many stores in the city. This time, I ordered thick-cut beef tongue, misji, and garlic liver (forgot the name). The thick-cut beef tongue was delicious, with plenty of flavor and tender enough to be easily chewed. The garlic liver was a personal favorite, with a crispy texture and no strong liver taste. It included Negi Shio Tan, Harami, Hatsu, Kalbi, Lamb Sirloin, and more. All different cuts were available. My personal favorites were the vegetable wraps and the jumbo sirloin. There were three types of sauces available - lemon, sweet and savory, and white miso? The meat itself was seasoned with pepper and came with garlic salt, so it was delicious even without sauce. There was a manual on the table for how to grill the meat, and the staff were attentive in clearing plates and suggesting when to change the grill. It was a bit overwhelming with the number of staff members at the beginning of the opening, and I felt a bit of pressure being watched, but overall, it was a very satisfying dining experience! I recommend the "Dragon" series of meats and dishes made with Kujyo negi (a type of green onion). The Dragon series was thick, juicy, and delicious. The negi dishes were refreshing with a nice flavor of green onions. I really want you to try them. Also, the bill was cheaper than I expected, which made me very satisfied. I would love to visit again when I want to have yakiniku near Kyoto Station.
