It's a lunch gathering with my neighbors from the place I used to live before. We used to meet frequently as rotating organizers before the pandemic, but it's been 4 years since we all got together. We decided to meet at a hotel buffet in Kyoto, dressed in stylish kimonos. The food was good overall, but there wasn't anything that made us want to go back for seconds. The unanimous favorite was the shrimp chili. There were live cooking stations offering steak, sautéed scallops, and more. It was crowded on a Sunday, with some empty spots that needed to be refilled constantly. I think weekdays would be a better time to visit a buffet.

The buffet restaurant on the first floor of the Kyoto Station Hotel was busy even on weekdays, but surprisingly there weren't many inbound tourists at this time of year. The food was not particularly outstanding, but being a top hotel, it was consistent in quality. We enjoyed a 120-minute lunch drinking session, and time flew by quickly. Thank you for the meal.

Long time no visit. The freshly grilled steak was marbled and delicious, but I hit a wall at the 6th piece... I can't beat age. The other dishes were also well-seasoned, stylish, delicious, and varied, making for a luxurious and satisfying time! I don't get to come often, but I definitely want to come back (^ ^)

It was not crowded probably because it was a weekday night. I was happy to be able to eat plenty of crab, but the steak that was grilled for me was the most delicious. The fried chicken was also tasty, and meat might have been better than crab. It was a bit of a hassle to have to bring the empty glass to the counter for an alcohol refill.

A few years ago, the prices have gone up quite a bit, it used to be in the 2000 yen range... and there were a lot of appetizer options which was great. However, due to the impact of COVID, it seems like they have reduced the variety and are replenishing in small quantities more frequently. Nevertheless, the quality of the ingredients is high, unlike cheap buffets, and it is very satisfying. The scallop and shrimp teppanyaki was delicious... the shrimp was a bit salty, but the beef steak was also freshly cooked and tasty, with no fatty parts and a strong meaty flavor. Since it is a hotel buffet, the creatively designed desserts are also enjoyable. It was a luxurious experience, but I would like to visit again.

In February, I went to eat crab before the season ends! The restaurant was easily accessible, clean, and had a wide variety of dishes. The salad had shrimp, squid, and scallops, with a lot of seafood options overall. The teppanyaki steak was tender and the sea bream was very fluffy and delicious. The gelato had a smooth texture and flavors like La France, which was refreshing after the meal. The crab I was looking forward to was a bit disappointing as the meat was a bit dry, but the taste was okay. It was a typical all-you-can-eat crab deal, but compared to the one I had in Awara Onsen, Fukui in December, it was a bit disappointing. I'm not sure if it was because it was February, if the crab was frozen, or if it was because it was in Kyoto. I was also a bit bothered by the fact that there were no gloves provided for eating the crab. They did bring some when I asked, but it was a bit inconvenient that they weren't readily available. However, if you're not specifically going for the crab, the other dishes were delicious so no problem!

I used the lunch buffet on a regular day! The regular price is 3,900 yen, but there are discounts on various sites, so it's a good deal to use the discount. It's a 2-hour buffet. The restaurant is spacious, with wide seat spacing, bright and a nice atmosphere. The food is plentiful, with live kitchen options. When I went, the live kitchen had ramen, steak, and scallops and shrimp sauté. The steak, scallops, and shrimp sauté were delicious, so I ended up getting seconds multiple times! The quality of the steak may vary depending on the timing. This live kitchen seems to change monthly, and you can check the contents on the website. There are also plenty of appetizer dishes, with various vegetables that were delicious. The hot dishes, such as tempura, fried chicken, and shrimp chili, were delicious as they were freshly fried and warm. Everything I ate was pretty delicious. For dessert, there were gelato, ice cream and soft serve machines, and various cakes. The Mont Blanc was delicious, and I wanted to get more, but when I went next time, it wasn't there, so I missed out. The dishes seem to change in content depending on the time, and even on the same day, they may vary depending on the timing! Overall, the food and desserts were delicious and plentiful, so I was very satisfied. It's always fun to eat as much as you like of what you like.

I visited for the crab at the end of the year. During the Hokkaido Fair, the desserts were particularly good ☆ The soft serve ice cream was the melon flavor♪ The cream puff had a rich milk taste and was very delicious. The prices were a little higher, but maybe it's unavoidable in these times. I was looking forward to it, so I was very satisfied. ( *´艸`)

At the end of the year, many people visited. The live kitchen's meat, lobster, and crab were delightful. Freshly made food is indeed delicious. Other menu items also did not have long lines, so it was very comfortable. The rice here is very delicious. It's their specialty.

This morning's breakfast was at the "Buffet Restaurant Le Plaisir" located on the first floor of the hotel. I entered around 7:30 and it was quite busy. I indulged in my dream of having beer in the morning^_^ Of course, it was at an additional cost (lol). The white rice was Koshihikari, shining brightly, and went well with Kyoto pickles. Thank you for the meal.

Good evening ( ̄Д ̄)ノ Fujian's food-loving hurray!! This time, we had a buffet with the whole family + in-laws + α at a hotel. Sometimes we go to buffets with a large group. This time, we went to Buffet Restaurant Le Plaisir (located at 17 Nishikujo-incho, Minami-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, on the 1st floor of Hotel To Kyoto Hachijo). It has a quite luxurious atmosphere near Kyoto Station Hachijo exit. We entered the buffet at 19:15, which is the second session from 17:00 to 19:00 and 19:15 to 21:15. We sat at a table. Nowadays, buffets have plastic gloves and acrylic boards for COVID-19 measures, which somewhat diminishes the experience, but that can't be helped. The Hokkaido dinner buffet costs 6,900 yen per adult. Since I was the driver and couldn't drink, I decided to make up for it by enjoying the food (๑╹ω╹๑) At the live kitchen, scallops, freshly grilled steak, and crab were right in front of us ♡ I want this, that, and that too^o^ I kept piling up dishes on the table as I saw more and more, resulting in a wonderful mix of Japanese and Western dishes. Round one began!! Munch munch, delicious^o^ Round two began!! Munch munch, delicious^_^ Round three began!! Munch munch, delicious(〃ω〃) Round four began!! M-munch munch, delicious( ̄∇ ̄) Round five, start!! Little by little, munch, delicious(*´Д`*) Oh, I'm really full now, stuffed to the brim! Puhaha♡ Well, I finished with some soup curry (it was a Hokkaido fair), so I ate all the dishes (excluding desserts and drinks). Everything was seasoned well and delicious. The best part was the staff who quickly cleaned up our plates after we finished eating ♬ When we went to get more food and came back, the table was clean, making the dining experience enjoyable. Well, I ate a lot, so my stomach might be a bit tight!? Personally, I think I got my money's worth! I went to the Dining Cafe & Bar Rond on the 1st floor of Hotel To Kyoto in front of Kyoto Station, where they started offering a "Half Buffet x Choose Your Main Dish" option. It was a great value lunch! You can choose your main dish and enjoy a buffet-style selection of appetizers, salads, soups, bread, fruits, and desserts for 3,800 yen onwards. This shop is located inside the Miyako Hotel near Kyoto Station. I went there for an afternoon tea between lunch and dinner, not the usual lunch or dinner buffet. The stylish transparent chapel was quite impressive, but the afternoon tea was even more so! In addition to the usual afternoon tea stand, they also served a selection of 6 cakes, a slice of a large wedding cake, appetizers, and more! The cakes were not small bite-sized ones, but rather large normal-sized ones. I went with two girlfriends who also eat a lot, and we were so full after finishing everything that it was quite painful. Other tables around us left a lot of food, so I think that's the norm. However, the cakes were not just sweet cream cakes, they also had a mousse with a hint of ginger flavor, a layer of tangy lychee mousse, and a sweet and sour passion fruit sauce, showing a lot of creativity. The textures were also great with crunchy accents. It was my first time having such creative cakes in abundance! It was a very satisfying and wonderful afternoon tea, especially recommended for those who are confident in their appetite! The taste and atmosphere were both excellent for this afternoon tea (*ˊ˘ˋ*)

The crab was too salty and I could only eat a little, which was disappointing. Every year, we have our annual wedding anniversary at a hotel in the city. This year, we brought our two children to enjoy a buffet at Pleasure, with free-flowing drinks for the adults. The kids also had access to a dessert buffet, so we let them indulge. As part of the anniversary service, we were treated to a toast with sparkling wine, which made us feel a bit fancy. We started with a variety of appetizers, including cold and hot dishes. The kids picked out their favorites. My wife particularly enjoyed the seafood grilled with basil and garlic sauce. It had been a year since we last visited, and I had forgotten how enjoyable the wine selection was at the buffet. We tried three types of red and white wines each, and I managed to conquer them all. I especially liked the light Pinot Noir. After the meal, we took our traditional anniversary photo at the wedding venue.

I decided to go to Le Plaisir on the 1st floor of the new Miyako Hotel in Kyoto Station South because all the lockers were full and I could leave my suitcase at the hotel's cloakroom. It's a bit pricey at 3,000 yen for lunch, but since my friend came to Kyoto, I decided to splurge. I was hoping for a discount, and then I saw a LINE@ friend request pop-up on the table. I got a coupon for 10% off on weekdays and 5% off on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays until June. They also have discounts on the beer garden now. If you use Hot Pepper, there is a 10% off coupon for weekdays. The appetizers had a lot of seafood options, which was great. The live kitchen had steak, olive oil grilled shrimp and scallops, deli items, salad, sandwiches, and more. As always, there were about 100 dishes, which was amazing! I put together some desserts in green (^.^) Le Plaisir lunch [Weekdays] 11:30-14:30 [Sat/Sun/Holidays] [1st session] 11:30-13:00 / [2nd session] 13:15-14:45 (L.O. each 15 minutes before closing) Dinner [Weekdays] 17:00-21:30 (L.O. 21:00 / 120-minute limit) [Sat/Sun/Holidays] [1st session] 17:00-19:00 / [2nd session] 19:15-21:15 (L.O. each 15 minutes before closing) This time, I went on a Saturday for the 1st session until 13:00. Some of the dishes include "Crab Tempura", "Matsutake Mushroom and Sea Bream Teppanyaki", and "Beef Fillet Teppanyaki". Unfortunately, I couldn't try the crab, but the steak was delicious and I was very satisfied. I recommend making a reservation in advance to secure a seat. They offer weekday discounts, as well as senior discounts and a ladies' day discount on Thursdays.
