I went to a girls' lunch gathering. There are various genres of food available, but it involves the hassle of getting up to serve yourself and returning dishes. Cute school trip students were having a lively lunch! Be careful with your valuables when leaving your seat. ⚠️

I visited KYOTO TOWER SANDO and tried the Senberohashigo for the first time. There were various types of beer available, but I ordered the Perfect Beer. I forgot to take a photo of the menu, so the details are unclear. The Anchovy Potato Salad I ordered with it had just the right amount of saltiness, making it a perfect accompaniment to the beer. It was a great place to have a quick drink before heading to my next destination! Thank you for the meal!
In front of Kyoto Station stands Kyoto Tower. At the base of the tower, you can enter through the entrance and take an escalator down to the underground floor. Old Japanese poems have been translated into modern language and written on the walls and floors. There are many tenants on this floor, and you can enjoy a meal in a food court-like setting. Before leaving Kyoto on the Shinkansen, I decided to have a drink. Since I was in Kyoto, why not have some tea... Oh, tea beer! I watched as they carefully prepared the matcha with a tea whisk. It was delicious and easy to drink without any strong flavors!

Matcha beer. 700 yen. It was decent. I think I might prefer yuzu flavor? The cashier was very polite and had a lovely smile, which made me go back for a refill. I was able to enjoy drinking it comfortably. I would like to come back again.

For beer lovers, the tower beer is irresistible! It was a bit embarrassing to carry it to my seat in the food court because it's long and quite heavy, but that's part of the fun! It's surprisingly generous in size, so I felt it was a good deal for 1000 yen. I'm not sure what kind of beer it was, but I usually like Sapporo Black Label, and this one had a similar refreshing taste that was easy to drink!

I arrived in Kyoto with a friend on a holiday in late May, and we met up at Kyoto Station. We decided to get food from Link and now it's time for the drinks part. We headed to Kyoto Tower Sand Food located on the B1F of Kyoto Tower. The address is 721-1 Higashishio-kojimachi, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City. The opening hours are from 11:00 to 23:00, and the restaurant is closed on days when Kyoto Tower Sand Food is closed. There are 13 seats available (with an additional 300 seats in the food court).
We decided to order a special drink called "Luxurious Uji Matcha Beer" for 900 yen. It's a cocktail of tea and beer with three options: hojicha, Uji matcha (each for 700 yen). Although there were other alcoholic drinks and snacks available, we chose to focus on this one. It took about 7-8 minutes for our order to be ready. The drink is made by whisking matcha with a tea whisk and then mixing it with beer. The foam on top even has matcha powder sprinkled on it, giving it a green color. It's a unique drink that might be a bit over the top but visually appealing. Overall, it was an interesting experience at the food court.

Located in the food court underground of Kyoto Tower, Sandbar offers a variety of food options and a unique Kyoto-style beer called matcha beer. They also serve a tasting set of Kyoto Brewing beers, which are a must-try. Enjoy the beer tasting set along with the diverse food menu available at the food court.

Craft beer shop in Kyoto Tower Sand. Other shops also handle beer, but if you want to enjoy beer, Kyoto Tower Sandbar is recommended. The Kyoto-appeal beers like matcha and hojicha may feel a bit embarrassing for tourists, but that's just me (laughs). "One time, one meeting." It was a good beer that was easy to drink.

Today I had a light drink with craft beer. Located on the basement floor of Kyoto Tower in front of JR Kyoto Station, "KYOTO TOWER SANDO Bar" is a craft beer shop where you can enjoy beer brewed by Kyoto Brewing. I was interested in trying a drink comparison of Kyoto Brewing, but considering the drinking party later on, I decided to go with the most recommended option, the "Extreme Kyoku (480 yen)". I also ordered seafood tapas as a side dish. It came out looking like a Tower Stand from an afternoon tea set, and it was quite a generous portion. I couldn't help but wonder if it would have been better to do a drink comparison, but there were also Kyoto-style Uji matcha liqueurs available, making it a nice place for a light beer at the end of sightseeing near Kyoto Station.

Underground food hall at Kyoto Tower - Tower Sandwich Burger, Yakitori, Kushikatsu, Gyoza, Thai cuisine, etc. You can order whatever you like from different shops and enjoy a variety of dishes. This time, I sat at the counter and relaxed while sipping on drinks. With a friend, we spent about 3 hours from 5 pm to 8 pm. I tried a craft beer tasting set from Kyoto Brewery (1200 yen), Tower Beer (1000 yen) - a bit difficult to drink because of the tilt, a sake with duck river in the name (500 yen), and plum wine soda (500 yen). My friend had a Uji matcha cocktail. We shared some prosciutto and cheese. I'm not a big eater when drinking, so we ended up enjoying our drinks while discussing our thoughts on a play. There are many options at Kyoto Station building and Porta, but this place is quiet and beautiful, making it a hidden gem. I'll definitely come back for a solo drink next time!

I ordered the Autumn Whim Red IPA in J size for 1500 yen at the beer bar "Kyoto Tower Sandbar" in the food court below Kyoto Tower. There is no cover charge or table charge. The J size is larger than the M and L sizes. The Red IPA had a pleasant bitterness and a mature aroma. It's a great beer to enjoy casually with a nice atmosphere.

This is a shop on the B1 floor of Kyoto Tower. There is a counter, but it's a food court, so there are plenty of seats around where you can also drink. They have unique items like matcha beer, and the prices are around 500 yen, with no cover charge. It's a good place for a second round or hopping. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by as the last stop of my trip to Kyoto. It is located underground Kyoto Tower, and it is like a food court with many dining options. I wanted to ask for recommendations on the various types of beer available, but the staff was very unfriendly. I ordered a beer tasting set, but there was no explanation about the types of beer. I visited wanting to try Kyoto craft beer, but unfortunately, it was disappointing. I quickly finished my drink and left. I was also unable to use the national travel support coupon.

Kyoto Brewing tasting set ¥1,200 - Enjoyed a hearty solo meal with a Kyoto Tower sandwich. Finished off with a craft beer tasting from Kyoto. Satisfied and content. Thank you for the meal. #KyotoTowerSand #KyotoStation #KansaiFood #KyotoFood #KyotoStationFood

On a night during my trip to Kyoto, I tried the "Sapporo Black Label Extreme" beer. Is this really the correct way to pour it? If so, it's very disappointing, Sapporo. The foam was big and watery. Even though we were using delicate glasses, there was no finesse at all. I've never had this in the Kanto region, but it seems like it's the only option in Kansai. My husband and I ordered the large size with excitement, planning to enjoy it with some yakitori next door, but we ended up finishing it quickly and lost interest in going to the yakitori place. We left the restaurant feeling a bit disappointed. I don't know if it's a pouring issue or Sapporo's problem, but please improve it!

During my stay in Kyoto in February, I visited the rooftop of the Higashi Honganji Temple's Goeido Gate, which is close to Kyoto Station. It was truly impressive to see the world's largest wooden gate, standing at about 27 meters tall. After enjoying the view from the Kyoto Tower observatory, I had a relaxing time with a beer at KYOTO TOWER SANDO Bar. The B1F area is like a food court with various food and drink options. I tried the SORACHI1984 beer, which had a good hoppy flavor. I also tried the Kyoto Brewery beer tasting set, which was enjoyable with different rich flavors. The Food Hall had many other appealing dining options, making it a great place to visit near Kyoto Station. I look forward to returning in the future.

On Saturday at 3:00 PM, I took a break at Kyoto Tower Sand. They offer a Kyoto Brewery tasting set. I hesitated because two of the beers are stouts, which I'm not a fan of, but I decided to give it a try. The tasting set includes "Ichigo Ichie" (Saison), "Kokushio no Gotoku" (Belgian Stout), and "Marushi" (Belgian Black IPA). Even though stouts are not my favorite, I managed to finish them thanks to the Saison. The unique beers were enjoyable to drink, and it was fun to pair them with the food court dishes. Thank you for the meal.

One of the great things about Japanese sake is that you can also enjoy delicious craft beer at Kyoto Brewery. Their local beers go well with delicate Kyoto cuisine. It's a food court-style setup, so you can choose your favorite snacks to go with your beer. This time, I tried a tasting set. The stout beer had a rich roasted flavor that really stood out and was delicious.

Well, the last stop on the Kyoto tour was Kyoto Tower Sand Bar in Kyoto Tower Sand Building. I wanted to visit a dumpling shop, but the train was approaching quickly, so I decided to have a quick drink. I chose the "Ichigo Ichie" craft beer from Kyoto Brewing. The beer was simple and easy to drink. I didn't have time to savor it because of the approaching train, but I regret not being able to try the Sorachi Ace. After finishing the beer, I hurried to Kyoto Station.
