I entered the restaurant around 3 o'clock. I thought it would be crowded because it was Marine Day and a summer eel restaurant, but there was only one other group of customers when I arrived, and another group came later. I was worried about the limited menu options, but I decided to try the eel roll bowl that I had wanted to eat. It was pretty delicious.

Unagi - Edo River Kyoto Station I came to do some shopping at Edo River Kyoto Station, and it was crowded with people. Despite the long lines at most shops, I was able to get in without waiting at this one. They serve Tokyo-style unagi, which is steamed and then grilled. I usually don't drink alcohol during lunch, but I couldn't resist ordering a draft beer.

I suggested various lunch options for my aunt who is over 80 years old, and we ended up choosing the eel roll mini donburi set with freshly fried crispy tempura. The side dish included a specialty red konjac from Shiga. The dashimaki tamago and simmered dish were lightly seasoned with little sweetness, making them easy to eat. I finished my meal quickly, and so did my aunt. The price of 2,500 yen was quite reasonable. I highly recommend it for a sophisticated lunch. We arrived a little after 12 o'clock, and although we were seated promptly, the restaurant was quite busy.

Edogawa Kintetsu Kyoto Station Store, located in the Miyakomichi shopping street in the south of Kyoto Station, is a popular spot for eel dishes. The restaurant is open from 11am to late afternoon, and it tends to be less crowded after 2pm. The reviewer enjoyed a Tokyo-style eel dish, known for its light and delicious sauce, accompanied by a bottle of Tosa Katsurahama beer. The eel was served in a unique way with the back cut open, allowing for easy enjoyment of the crispy skin and tender meat. The reviewer also mixed green onions and sansho pepper to enjoy with the eel, and finished the meal with a warm cup of dashi. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience at Edogawa Kintetsu Kyoto Station Store.

Today, instead of bus travel, I enjoyed a train journey. While creating a route for bus travel is fun, I also find it enjoyable to get off the train and walk around like a tourist. I start to get hungry as I walk, but not as much as the character Gorou in the movie "孤独のグルメ" (The Lonely Gourmet). So, I decided to have a light mini rice bowl set for 1750 yen (tax included). Eating little by little helps to maintain my appetite and allows me to save energy for when I come across something delicious unexpectedly. The eel, chawanmushi, and pickles were all so good, leaving a trace of their deliciousness in my memory. This meal didn't hinder my afternoon stroll. The restaurant was quiet and I could relax. Thank you.

On this day, the cherry blossoms were still in full bloom, and Kyoto Station was very crowded. Before the theater performance, I went down to the Kintetsu side for lunch at this place on Miyako-michi. I wanted to eat umaki, so I got the Mini Umaki set (2500 yen including tax). It comes with tempura, grilled vegetables, pickled dried daikon radish, and rolled omelette. I enjoyed it with Yamato Brewery's IPA. The restaurant was filled with many foreign visitors! Different languages were being spoken, and I could feel the lively atmosphere returning. The staff also spoke English, showing that Kyoto is truly a tourist destination.

I had never consciously eaten eel that wasn't broiled, so I went to a restaurant with a rating of 3.3 on Tabelog located in Kyoto Station. I ordered the Hitsumabushi for 3,700 yen and added a piece of eel roll to my set. The eel was steamed, so there was no smell at all, but on the contrary, I didn't feel like I was eating eel at all... The sauce was watery and no matter how much I poured, it didn't seem enough... The soup was in a plastic container and had cooled down by the time I used it... There was no eel in the liver dish, and the chawanmushi was missing eel as well... The additional menu items were reasonably priced, which I found very convenient. The pickled ginger with the eel roll was excellent! Considering the location at Kyoto Station, I think the price was quite reasonable. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant in Kyoto for the second time. I was in the mood for eel, so I was drawn to the eel dishes displayed in the showcase. There was a set with sashimi, but I was craving tempura, so I ordered the set with tempura. It was delicious. The eel was also very tasty. I definitely want to revisit this restaurant when I come to Kyoto again.

The Kansai-style eel restaurant may be closer to Kintetsu Kyoto Station than Kyoto Station. I don't remember any other eel restaurants at Kyoto Station, so this might be the only one. They offer various lunch sets. The clientele is mostly elderly. The prices are a bit high, but everything I ate was delicious.

I had eel for the first time in a while. For lunch, I chose a restaurant in a department store or underground shopping area that offers reliable eel. It is prepared in the Kanto style, where the eel is cut along the back instead of being grilled whole, with the head removed, sliced, skewered, lightly grilled, steamed, excess fat removed, and then grilled again. I ordered the "Umaki Don" for 2,700 yen, which included 2 pieces of eel roll, half a portion of grilled eel, clear soup, and pickles. It was ready in about 10 minutes. The eel kabayaki was very small and thin, making it hard to appreciate the soft texture of the eel itself, as the flavor of the sauce was overpowering. Perhaps this eel would be better suited for an eel rice bowl. The clear soup contained Mitsuba, grated yam, swirling gluten, but no liver. The pickles included pickled in a jar and chopped shiba-zuke. Overall, the eel roll felt like an additional 800 yen on top of the regular eel rice bowl priced at 1,900 yen. The paper napkins were thick, giving a sense of luxury.

Arrived at Kyoto Station on the sightseeing limited express train "Aoiyoshi" before 11 am! First, headed to "Kintetsu Meiten-gai Miyakomichi" for lunch. While on the way to the Western restaurant that I had researched in advance, I decided to stop by the restroom first. As I glanced around, I noticed "Edogawa" right in front of me. I found a promising lunch menu and ended up getting distracted by it before my wife arrived. We both ended up going inside the restaurant. I ordered the Hakozen set (2300 yen), which was a bento box filled with various dishes including pickles, cold tofu, soup with somen noodles, chawanmushi, sashimi, tempura, and of course, an eel dish. The eel had a tender texture with a sweet and savory sauce that soaked into the rice. Although the portion of eel was on the smaller side, I was satisfied with the variety of dishes. The tempura, in particular, had a crispy texture and was delicious. I also earned points on my Kintetsu Group "Kip's Card" and smoothly paid using it. Thank you for the meal. Located in Kintetsu Meiten-gai Miyakomichi inside Kyoto Station Hachijo-guchi, heading west.

You can enjoy a lunch with so many different items here in Edogawa! They have Chasoba noodles which are perfect for summer, and it was very delicious. You can also have Unaju, Unamaki, salad, sashimi (amberjack and tuna?), tempura, and more. I'm glad I chose this place - it cost 2600 yen. ^-^

Kyoto Station's Kintetsu Meiten-gai Miyakomichi offers Tokyo-style eel cuisine at Edo River lunch menu, which is quite a bargain and highly recommended! - Hakozen 2,300 yen: Includes various dishes like unagi (eel) over rice, tempura, unagi don, soup, pickles, and more. It's delicious and great value for money! - Hiruzen 1,200 yen: Includes tempura, two kinds of sashimi, chawanmushi (savory egg custard), salad, rice, soup, and pickles.

I felt like eating eel around Kyoto Station, so I went to Edogawa. Today I had the Hitsumabushi, which is a single eel served over rice. The only difference between Hitsumabushi and the regular Unaju is that Hitsumabushi comes with a small side dish. However, the best part is seeing the whole eel intact, which is enjoyable. The taste is light and flavorful. It was a delicious meal.

I had been wanting to eat eel from a restaurant, but kept missing the chance. After enduring for over a month, I finally got the opportunity! I found Kanto-style eel at Kyoto Station and finally got to eat it! I finished it in 20 minutes (tears). The sauce was not sweet, with a refreshing taste.

TeamLab went to eat grilled eel to beat the summer fatigue. Unagi donburi for 2,600 yen. The eel was fatty and delicious, with a sauce that was not too sweet but just right, and on the lighter side. Adding a little bit of the extra sauce provided enhanced the flavor. The eel meat was tender and the skin slightly crispy, although the bones were a bit noticeable, which could be a slight downside. Sprinkling all the eel with sansho pepper was a nice touch. The eel roll was also tasty with its mild flavor, almost like eating tamago. It was quite filling and overall, eel is always delicious to eat occasionally.

When I want to eat eel near Kyoto Station, I sometimes use this place in the Kintetsu Meiten-gai Miyakomichi. This is Unaju "Take". Following the rule of Matsuchikubai, the middle "Take" (equivalent to one eel) is often served. On this day, many customers around me ordered "Take" with a good probability. It was served as a half-cut, steamed Edo-style. It was tender and delicious! Additionally, the "Ume" comes as 1 eel + 1/4 eel. Thank you for the meal.

This is a restaurant located in the Miyakomichi area near the Hachijo-guchi side of Kyoto Station. I visited after hearing that they serve eel dishes in the summer. I had the eel rice box (bamboo). This was my nth visit, but the eel seemed different from before. I wonder if they changed the eel. Thank you for the meal.

Visited around 12:30 PM on March 1st, 2020 (Sunday). Today, the Tiger Girls' Group members had eel for lunch, visited a shrine (plum), and then moved to Torishima in Miyakojima (peach) for some spring-like activities. First, 7 of us gathered at Kyoto Station. We went to a convenient place called *** in the underground area of the station, where we could move from the station without getting wet in the rain. Maybe due to the influence of the coronavirus, even though it was lunchtime, the restaurant was empty (*´з`). We easily secured a spacious table in the back! Each of us (selfishly) ordered what we liked. The orders included: Draft beer (650 yen) - this order was quick! Mini Ohitashi Eel Set (2,350 yen) - I'm not very familiar with eel, so I ended up ordering this (*´з`). I thought I could eat a variety of things, so I must have been greedy. Looking at the photo later, I realized that there was not much eel (*ノωノ). Friends who knew what they were doing ordered things like the "Unaju Bamboo" with 4 pieces of eel, "Unamaki" as a single item, or half of the "Unamaki" on top of the "Unaju" set. They could eat tofu salad, tempura, sashimi, and soup anywhere (*´з`). I should have ordered the Unaju set, I regretted it later that night (*´з`). I'm such a novice when it comes to eel (*´з`). Thank you for the meal (*´▽`*). The Ohitashi Eel was delicious! I was full and satisfied to some extent (*´艸`). Bonus: I suddenly felt like eating eel on its own, liver grilling, and liver soup (゚Д゚)

At the beginning of the year, my uncle on my mother's side was hospitalized. Unfortunately, my car is still at the dealership, so I can't use it at the moment. I feel really bad because I have to take my elderly mother by train to visit him. I picked her up at the nearest station to my parents' house and we headed to Kyoto Station by taxi to go to the hospital. But before that, we decided to have a meal at the Nankai Department Store "Miyako Michi" near Hachijo Exit. We came across "Edogawa Nankai Kyoto Station Store" and since I love eel because of my mother's influence, we decided to eat there. We ordered the Unagi Juu (eel on rice) set for 2, which was delicious and satisfying. My mother was happy with the meal, and I felt glad that I could take her to an eel restaurant. We also bought a Mini Ochazuke (eel on rice) as a gift for my uncle, who also loves eel. He was delighted with the gift. Overall, it was a great dining experience at "Edogawa Nankai Kyoto Station Store"!
