Sweet shop 721st♡ Maybe it's a sweet shop? After Espresso and Arashiyama, I just passed by and found this place! I saw it on TV and was curious about it. Yuba cheese♡♡♡ There was a long line, but it moved very quickly and it was soon my turn. Yuba Cheese for 450 yen. The turnover is fast, as almost everyone orders the Yuba Cheese. When we said we wanted two, it felt like we were ready with the change of 100 yen. It rotates quickly and it's hot. The cheese is melting from the hot yuba. The yuba has a texture similar to fish paste. I also became interested in other menu items. Cash only.

I was in the mood for some side dishes and was looking for something good to eat. I came across Yuba Cheese Flag and it caught my interest. I decided to line up and try it out. This place was also a popular spot for foodies, as there was a long line. I later found out that they wrap fish surimi in yuba, but I had imagined it to be more like tempura with cheese-filled hanpen. It turned out to be quite ordinary and expensive. After trying it once, I felt like I had enough.

★ The freshly fried Yuba cheese has a crispy Yuba skin, a chewy surimi with a satisfying texture, and melty cheese that creates a new journey with every bite. Each mouthful brings a sense of excitement. The Yuba coating is crispy on the outside, while the cheese inside is gooey, creating a perfect balance. The sensation of biting into it is both fluffy and crispy! I highly recommend trying it hot. Thank you for the delicious meal. The Yuba cheese, the best-selling item, was incredibly delicious. I definitely plan to purchase it again. For more details on Yuba cheese, visit https://sayakahime2023.fc2.net/blog-entry-277.html. Kyoto Arashiyama Yuba Cheese Honpo Honten has been in business for over seventy years in Kyoto's Arashiyama district. They sell their products near Togetsukyo Bridge. Artisans from Kyoto's Saga Ryori Yoshimi have created "Tenpura" using traditional Japanese cooking techniques, incorporating fresh fish surimi with Kyoto ingredients and seasonal pairings. The result is a handmade delicacy filled with the bouncy texture and the umami of fish. The most popular Yuba cheese is just one of the many perfect items for foodies on the go. The shop is located along the main street of Arashiyama. There was always a line no matter what time it was, but the turnover is fast so the wait time is not long. The outside is crispy with fried yuba, while the inside has a mixture of fish paste and cheese. The crispy texture and the combination of fish paste and cheese were amazing, unlike anything I've ever tasted before!

I purchased a meal ticket from the vending machine near the Togetsukyo Bridge. The staff served me freshly fried food. I chose the "Squid and Chive Stir-Fry with Red Pepper" for 350 yen including tax. It was a warm and delicious dish. I enjoyed it on the bench outside the shop. Thank you for the meal.

While leisurely walking around Arashiyama, I noticed a long line for something called "Yuba Cheese Skewers." Kyoto is known for tofu and yuba, so I was intrigued by the idea of combining them with cheese and frying them. After purchasing a food ticket, I waited for my order to be called, but it never was. When I finally asked about it, they realized they had forgotten to give it to me. Disappointing. Nonetheless, I tried the freshly made Yuba Cheese skewer. It was piping hot, almost burning my mouth. The filling was a cheese-infused paste wrapped in yuba and deep-fried. It was greasy and left my hands sticky. Priced at 400 yen, it wasn't bad, but not worth the long line it attracted.

Even while limiting carbohydrates, I went on a gourmet food tour in Arashiyama♪♪ First up, the melting yuba cheese!! I'm sorry for my poor photography skills (´•ω•̥`) You can enjoy freshly fried yuba with cheese inside. The batter is made from yuba to cut down on carbs, and inside there is cheese and fish paste. The fish paste is quite dense, so it fills you up nicely, but I wish there was a bit more of that melty cheese as the name suggests (´TωT`) Check out my gourmet posts on Instagram @kanae.0402 in the Stories Archive♡

Yuba cheese was incredibly delicious. Is this the go-to food for eating and walking in Arashiyama? I often see it on Instagram, so I made sure to go eat and walk there! I love both yuba and cheese, so this was irresistible. It makes me want to drink alcohol too!

I went to Arashiyama on this day! It is a popular tourist spot in Kyoto. In front of the iconic Togetsukyo Bridge in Arashiyama, there is an area called Arashiyama Shopping Street with many souvenir shops, restaurants, and dessert shops lined up. When it comes to enjoying sightseeing, eating is a must! Gourmet food cannot be missed. Many people want to enjoy a variety of foods little by little if possible. This time, I want to review gourmet food that is perfect for eating while walking. The criteria are: can be eaten with one hand, does not make your hands dirty, and is under 500 yen. Keeping these three points in mind, I searched for options. And here, in Arashiyama Shopping Street, there is a shop called "Yuba Cheese Honpo." The highlight is the "Melting Yuba Cheese," which is a fried fish paste with cheese wrapped in yuba. I purchased a ticket from the vending machine and received it in about 5 minutes. The fried yuba is crispy and has a good texture. The fish paste inside is soft and delicious. The portion may be a bit small, but if you are planning to try various foods while walking around, it might be just right. Since it is on a stick, it seems convenient to eat while strolling through Arashiyama Shopping Street.

This summer, I drove to Kyoto and stopped by Arashiyama. I bought some Yuba Mentaiko for a snack. I entered and placed my order at 4:10 PM, and received my dish at 4:15 PM. The Yuba Mentaiko costs 350 yen and consists of two small rolls of surimi with mentaiko wrapped in yuba, deep-fried with seaweed. The outside is crispy, while the inside is chewy and bouncy. It has a hint of spiciness along with the delicious seafood flavor. Overall, it's not a must-try in Kyoto.

Tempura Series Part 7: Kyoto Edition
Located about a 3-4 minute walk from Arashiyama Station, this shop is known for its yuba cheese. Although we had a reservation at another shop, we had some time to spare and decided to visit this place on the way. Orders are prepaid here. We ordered the melting yuba cheese and the shrimp and onion melting yuba cheese. The shrimp and onion dish had a strong shrimp flavor, even the taste of the shell was noticeable. The texture was fluffy. Beer is also available here, which would go well with the food.

Today, I went on a trip from Arashiyama to Nara for noodles. I was told by someone that the autumn leaves in Arashiyama are beautiful, so I had to see them in person. We arrived at 10:00 and decided to visit the autumn leaves and bamboo forest in Arashiyama before having sweets in Arashiyama and lunch in Kyoto. However, we got hungry earlier than expected, so we decided to go to Yuba Cheese Honpo Honten. Even though my junior doesn't like cheese, we went in and ordered matcha udon, one Yuba Cheese roll, and one assorted roll. The price seemed a bit high, but the portions were big and the taste was delicious. The Yuba Cheese had a great combination of white fish paste, cheese, and Yuba. I could have eaten another roll. If you visit Arashiyama, I recommend Yuba Cheese Honpo Honten!

I tried Yuba Cheese in Arashiyama♪♪♪ I was a bit skeptical about Yuba at first, but I decided to give it a try since cheese usually makes everything taste better, right? It turned out to be different from what I had imagined, and it felt like eating hanpen (a type of fish cake).

"At the fruit parlor 'Yaoiso', I had a delicious set of fruit sandwich and mixed juice, starting the second day on a good note. I then took the Randen train to Arashiyama, enjoying the view of Kyoto's streets along the way. Upon arrival at Arashiyama around 11:00, I got off the train and found myself surrounded by various food shops lining the main street, bustling with tourists. Ignoring the crowded Go To Travel campaign, I walked towards Togetsukyo Bridge, taking about 5 minutes to reach it. The bridge was packed with tourists, making it difficult to move freely. After crossing the bridge and turning back, I finished sightseeing and switched to a gourmet trip. While looking for something easy to eat, I stopped at a shop with a long line. It turned out to be a shop selling 'melting yuba cheese', a unique Kyoto dish. I waited in line for about 5 minutes, ordered the 'melting yuba cheese' and 'octopus and green onion croquette', and quickly received my order. The 'melting yuba cheese' had a subtle yuba flavor, dominated by the taste of cheese. The 'octopus and green onion croquette' had a crispy exterior and a chewy interior, making it a perfect match for beer. Although I refrained from beer due to excess drinking the day before. I enjoyed both dishes with my companion Y-chan and quickly finished them. Overall, I was able to experience the atmosphere of yuba during my visit to Kyoto."

I tried the most popular specialty dish, "yuba cheese." It is a dish called Tempura, made by wrapping ingredients based on cheese in Kyoto specialty yuba. It had a bouncy texture and was packed with the umami of fish. Each one is carefully made by hand by craftsmen, wrapping selected yuba with Kyoto specialty yuba one by one. The creamy cheese, crispy yuba, and the umami of the fish complemented each other perfectly, making it very delicious.

After enjoying some Kakifry at Sagano Croquette, we lined up at Yuba Cheese Honpo where there was a line of about 6 people. After waiting for about 5 minutes, we were served freshly fried yuba cheese, which was really hot! You have to hold the edge of the bag properly to avoid burning yourself. The yuba cheese, priced at 400 yen, consists of fish paste with cheese wrapped in yuba and fried. The yuba was crispy, almost like a spring roll wrapper. The cheese inside was melted and delicious, just as expected. It may seem a bit pricey for the size, but it's a tourist spot after all. It paired well with beer, so no complaints here.

This is the Kyoto Arashiyama Yuba Cheese Honpo Honten, a tempura shop for takeout operated by the artisans of Yoshia, a Kyoto Saganoryo Ryori restaurant in the Sagan Tenryuji Zorocho district of Ukyo-ku, Kyoto. The left side and second floor are Yoshia, while the right side on the first floor is the Kyoto Arashiyama Yuba Cheese Honpo Honten. After visiting the Togetsukyo Bridge and the Sagano Torii Gate, I came here. Wild birds leisurely spend time by the Katsura River. While taking a photo of the Togetsukyo Bridge, someone told me, "The heron caught a fish!" so I quickly aimed my camera and pressed the shutter, capturing the moment it swallowed the fish... After that, the heron continued to catch and eat fish, but unfortunately, I didn't have another chance to take a photo. After bird watching, I entered the Kyoto Arashiyama Yuba Cheese Honpo Honten. Inside the store, there are lovely benches with red lanterns. The bright red lanterns reminiscent of the Gion Festival made me feel like I was in Kyoto. You can eat inside on these beautiful lantern benches. There is a ticket vending machine in the back of the reception counter. Look at the menu at the reception, buy the ticket you want, and take it to the reception. "For over seventy years in Kyoto, Sagan Arashiyama, the artisans of Kyoto Saganoryo Ryori Yoshia have created "Tenpura" incorporating Kyoto ingredients and seasonal food combinations into fresh fish paste based on Japanese cooking techniques. The most popular item is our specialty "Yuba Cheese." The Yuba Cheese is a fish paste wrapped in yuba and fried. It is piping hot and may burn your mouth. The yuba is crispy on the outside, and the fish cake inside is bouncy. Inside the fish cake, there are chunks of cheese, making it very delicious. I took photos outside for the review but ate it on the benches inside. I wanted to buy other items that looked delicious, but I was planning to go for lunch later, so I sadly refrained from buying them, which I later regretted... In Arashiyama, the popular "melt-in-your-mouth Yuba Cheese" (350 yen) is a must-try. When you order it, they fry it on the spot so you can enjoy it hot and fresh. Inside the fish-based paste, there is cheese, wrapped in Yuba and then fried. The crispy and fragrant texture of the freshly fried Yuba, along with the chewy paste and the flavor of cheese, make it delicious.

Kyoto Arashiyama Yuba Cheese Honpo Honten is a shop located on the north side of Togetsukyo Bridge in Kyoto's Arashiyama. They offer a variety of takeout menu items, with many skewered mashed fish products. One of their most famous dishes is the "Yuba Cheese," priced at 350 yen per skewer. Despite its name, the Yuba Cheese is not cheese wrapped in yuba and deep-fried, but rather fish paste with cheese inside, wrapped in yuba and then fried. Each skewer requires detailed work, offering a satisfying texture of firm fish paste and crispy fried yuba. The cheese is not overwhelming, but instead adds a subtle accent. This is a perfect food item for eating on the go, and it pairs exceptionally well with beer. If you enjoy alcohol, consider ordering it as a set with beer.

I came to Arashiyama and tried some food. I had Yuba Cheese (350 yen) which comes with two pieces. It's a mixture of cheese and processed food wrapped in yuba and deep-fried. When you take a bite, the rich flavor of cheese spreads in your mouth. Just one piece is satisfying enough. I recommend sharing it with friends.
