I also received a treasure box filled with plenty of seafood limited to Arashiyama * * * Beef and sea cucumber sauce over rice Crispy spring rolls are crumbled and eaten 🧍♀️ The taste of shiso is fragrant and the overall flavor is gentle with a ginger flavor. The well-seasoned black beef is added to that. The combination of sea cucumber and meat makes it like a spring roll, surprisingly good with the sauce. Seasonal tempura rice bowl includes shishito peppers, turnips, shrimp, lotus root tempura, and the content may vary depending on the ingredients available. The slightly sweet tempura sauce is delicious. The turnip was surprisingly soft and creamy. Golden egg over rice is so creamy that it's almost like a drink. The taste of Rishiri kelp and bonito flakes is present 🧍♀️ The large egg yolk is a cute garnish. Seasonal mixed rice When I visited, there were oysters on top! Oysters and salmon roe are always delicious. The popping texture of the flying fish eggs is enjoyable in the mixed rice. Sea bream hand roll bowl Sea bream marinated in sesame sauce, wrapped in seaweed, and eaten like sushi rolls. The aroma of seaweed is very pleasant. The shiso is also a nice accent that goes well with the sesame sauce 🧍♀️ Yellowtail shabu-shabu and tofu The tender yellowtail goes well with grated ponzu sauce. The beautiful scenery, the sound of flowing water, and the gentle sound of the koto create a space that instantly transports you to the essence of Kyoto. One of their specialties is the "Kyodon Tabehikurabezen," which allows you to compare five different Kyoto rice bowl dishes. Using seasonal ingredients, each small rice bowl is carefully prepared to wish guests abundance and happiness. The dishes include a rich egg bowl made with eggs from Kyoto farmers, a tempura bowl with crispy vegetables and a sweet and savory sauce, a hand-rolled sushi bowl with fresh fish, a luxurious beef and sea cucumber bowl with a ginger-based sauce, and more. Reservation is required at Goyokucha Arashiyama Honten. I was able to make a reservation for a weekday after summer vacation, but I recommend booking early for weekends as well. There are many foreign visitors, so early reservations are recommended. The menu is a comparison of dishes, all of which are delicious and visually appealing.

In July 2023, I visited a restaurant with a Foodlog rating of 3.43 (based on 143 reviews). I tried the Kyoto Donburi Five Variety Set with Grilled Conger Eel and Kyoto Vegetables Shabu-Shabu, which came with today's tea set for 4,000 yen. I heard that the summer version of the "Five Grains Harvest" menu was being offered, so I headed to Arashiyama. You can also enjoy Kyoto's summer specialty, "conger eel dishes." This is my third visit. Each of the five donburi dishes has a completely different flavor, so it's never boring and all of them are delicious. The rice is also delicious because it's Yuihei's rice. You can choose from large, medium, and small sizes, but it would be nice if there was an extra-large option too! This time, the small pot dish was eel. It's a small portion, but I think it's just the right amount! The location, view, cost performance, and the essence of Kyoto can all be enjoyed, so I'm always very satisfied.

I wanted to try the set of 5 mini rice bowls. The conger eel shabu-shabu made me feel the summer in Kyoto. All the mini rice bowls were delicious, but the prawn tempura was especially delicious with its firm and juicy texture. It seems that the prices have increased quite a bit in the past few years. The dessert, a bite-sized green tea sweet, had a very chewy texture and was delicious. Overall, I was very satisfied with the variety of meat, sashimi, tempura, and mini shabu-shabu. I also registered on LINE, answered a survey, and received a souvenir drink.

I made a reservation with a friend for two about half a month ago. We were seated with a lovely view of the river, which is said to be particularly difficult to reserve. We arrived at 12:30 (on a weekday) for our reservation, and even though other customers arrived at the same time without a reservation, they were told the earliest available seating was after 3:00 pm. Our food arrived within 10 minutes of being seated, and we were amazed by the stunning presentation and flavors. The dishes were beautifully arranged in small bowls, making it easy to enjoy each one. The view of Kyoto in front of us added to the experience, making us feel like we were truly in the ideal Kyoto we had imagined as tourists. It may be just right for food hopping in Arashiyama sightseeing, but it might be a bit lacking for men.

I had been interested in this restaurant after seeing it on Instagram. I arrived at 1:00 pm on a weekday without a reservation. I was prepared to wait in line, but they were able to seat me starting from 1:30 pm. They didn't make us wait in line, instead they managed seating with time limits for each table based on the arrival time. When we were seated, they only asked us about the amount of rice we wanted, without explaining the menu. The food arrived within 10 minutes. The dishes were all different types of rice bowls and they were all delicious! However, the menu was slightly different from the one listed. There was no drink menu, so we had to ask for refills on tea multiple times.

I found a visually appealing meal on Instagram! The presentation was lovely. I couldn't get a reservation, so I tried my luck as a walk-in in the evening. Luckily, they had an opening in 30 minutes. The food wasn't particularly delicious, but I enjoyed a meal that felt like Kyoto. I received a souvenir drink from a LINE friend, which was nice, but I wish it was something hot like coffee since it's still a bit cold.

This is a popular restaurant in Arashiyama where you can enjoy beautifully presented rice bowls. Having lunch while enjoying the stunning view of Arashiyama is a wonderful experience. The restaurant is always crowded and reservations are a must. I was told by the staff that I had to leave in an hour. It may be a bit hectic with taking photos and eating. The taste was simply delicious.

❤️・・I went to @kyotoitsukichaya in Arashiyama, Kyoto and had some delicious dishes that really made me feel the spring vibes. The Kyoto Donburi Five Variety Set for ¥4,000 (tax included) includes: - Golden Tamago Donburi - Seasonal Fish Saikyo-yaki Donburi - Roast Beef Donburi - Tempura of Spring Vegetables Donburi - Clam and Turnip Miso Glazed Donburi You mix the red chicken Kyoto-style Sukiyaki with grated yam. Everything was incredibly delicious, especially the Golden Tamago Donburi with its rich and creamy egg, the best egg dish I've ever had. Also, the Five Grain Treasure Box for ¥2,000 (tax included) allows you to enjoy the aroma and texture of seasonal bamboo shoots with various condiments like yuzu pepper, sansho salt, roasted cherry blossom sake, Tosa vinegar, and wood sorrel miso. I enjoyed all of them, but my favorites were the wood sorrel miso and sansho salt. There are seats inside where you can see cherry blossoms while dining, making it a truly wonderful experience. Arashiyama is currently in full bloom with cherry blossoms, so come see the beautiful sakura before they start to fall. After the meal, if you add Goyotei to your LINE friends, you can get a delicious drink. It's refreshing and easy to drink. I went to Arashiyama, where the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. I got so caught up chatting with my friends on the train that we missed our stop. Luckily, we made it to our reservation just in time, and the staff were very kind. I was worried I wouldn't be able to finish all six small bowls, but each one was delicious. The parent and child rice bowl was great, and the tempura in the tempura bowl was so crispy! The tempura made with fresh wheat gluten was also delicious. The small pot dish, which used yam instead of raw egg in the sukiyaki style, was also very tasty. On the way back, we got a drink service and all took home pink lemonade juice.

Visited at 3:45 pm on a weekday by reservation. Set as a must-visit spot for Arashiyama sightseeing. A small shop along the river beyond Togetsukyo Bridge. Surprisingly small shop with counter seats facing the river and garden. Reserved the garden side which was available. Received a phone call in advance apologizing for garden construction and offering a meal upgrade as compensation. Lucky! [Kyodon Eating Comparison Meal Spring ver. 4000 yen] The upgrade included luxurious touches like roast beef topped with sea urchin, crab on ankake, and oysters on sukiyaki. Is it really this good? Very grateful. - Roast beef bowl: Roast beef wrapped in condiments, resembling a salad. - Seasonal fish miso-grilled bowl: Elegant and delicious tofu sauce. Recommended by the staff to enjoy wrapped in seaweed or as is. - Spring vegetable tempura bowl: The most delicious dish. The seaweed tempura was unusual and quite good. Crispy despite being dipped in sauce, remained delicious even after some time. - Golden egg bowl: Softly grilled egg with an additional egg yolk. A feast of eggs. Tastes like oyakodon when eaten with sukiyaki chicken. - Clam and turnip miso-an sauce bowl: The perfect thickness of the sauce clings nicely to the rice.
