When I came to Kyoto, I found the restaurant my friend had decided to visit next to Mini Stop, with its distinctive purple noren curtain. As I entered through the purple curtain, a staircase led up to the entrance, with lanterns guiding the way at the foot of each step, adding to the excitement. Inside the restaurant, I first purchased a meal ticket. Just as I had heard, from 7:00 to 10:00, the buffet was only 500 yen including tax!!! (Closed on Mondays) What can you get for 500 yen? A buffet! So cheap! I was seated at a table, surrounded by decorations with a natural wood theme. The tableware, both small plates and deep dishes, had a gentle, rounded design, without sharp edges, made of wooden material. The food on offer included bread, rolled omelette, natto, okara, plain cereal, mizuna, mini white turnips, daikon radish, red faldar udon, miso soup, and rice porridge, among others. All were available for unlimited refills, which was delightful. The vegetables were fresh, with labels indicating the farm where they were grown. I enjoyed the texture of the fresh vegetables while eating the rolled omelette, flavored with Kyoto green onions and white miso, which was light and delicious. I had to stop myself from eating too much since it was an egg dish. After enjoying various refills, I felt full after having rice porridge and miso soup. It had been a while since I had such a satisfying meal that my body seemed to thank me throughout. Bathed in the morning sunlight that illuminated the restaurant, I replenished my energy for the day ahead. I definitely want to dine here again when I come to Kyoto! Thank you for the meal.
