After thoroughly enjoying the Golden Pavilion, I had matcha tea in the garden of "Kinkakuji Fudo Kamado Chasho" and tried a sweet called "Kinkaku" from Senbon Tamajukken, which turned out to be unexpectedly delicious. I purchased it here because the box design features a phoenix in a woodblock print style with a temple seal, and the sweet inside is adorned with gold leaf in the pattern of the Golden Pavilion, giving it a full Golden Pavilion Temple vibe! It is exclusive to the Golden Pavilion gift shop, adding to its premium feel. Made with Japanese sugar, plum flour, and ajinomoto flour, the soft rakugan contains a filling of sweet red bean paste with Golden Pavilion temple natto (Daitokuji natto). The slight hint of saltiness within the sweetness is what makes it delicious! \(^o^)/

When I visited Kinkaku-ji, I took a break here. Tea and tea sweets in Kyoto are delicious indeed. Being able to enjoy them in this atmosphere adds to the experience. I was able to spend a surprisingly calm time without too much noise.

After visiting the Golden Pavilion, I took a short break and tried the Uji matcha soft serve ice cream. Since I was in Kyoto, I felt like I had to have matcha! Even though it was a cold winter day, I really enjoyed the regular soft serve with matcha flavor. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I have visited Kinkaku-ji several times, but this was the first time I bought dango (sweet dumplings) at the souvenir shop. The dango had a nice balance of crispy exterior and chewy texture, and tasted quite authentic. It's true that even though it's just a souvenir shop, dango at Kinkaku-ji in Kyoto is something special. Having dango after seeing Kinkaku-ji really puts you in a good mood.

The other day, when I went to Kyoto with a friend, we visited Kinkaku-ji and then stopped by this shop. I had a black sesame dango (200 yen). The black sesame wasn't too sweet or too spicy, just the right balance, and the dango was soft and delicious.

Kinkaku-ji, also known as the Golden Pavilion, was visited for a school trip after a long time. It was crowded with group tourists from Europe, America, Asia, and Southeast Asian countries. I found a black item at the souvenir shop and decided to try it as a snack. It was a black okonomiyaki manju, which is basically a black meat bun. The concept was a bit unclear, but it had a strong impact. The bun had a black squid ink dough, and when I opened it, it had a sauce aroma with a filling similar to okonomiyaki, with a strong ginger flavor. It was a tasty meat bun, but I wished it had a more impressive visual or a lower price considering it was a tourist spot. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Kinkaku-ji.

On January 15, 2016, I visited this shop after visiting the Golden Pavilion. The shop is located right near the Golden Pavilion, and it does not charge an entrance fee. It is run by Mame-Masa and offers light snacks like mitarashi dango and pork buns with tofu. I chose the sesame mitarashi dango for 170 yen. The taste was okay. Next time, I want to try the pork bun with tofu. It's a casual place to eat, so I recommend it when you're feeling hungry.

A rest area and shop located next to Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) in Kyoto. It is located near the exit of the main route and can be used even without paying the entrance fee (although visitors who use this shop cannot re-enter Kinkaku-ji). There are various shops selling souvenirs related to Kinkaku-ji. A tea room is also available where visitors can enjoy matcha tea and sweets. Seating is available both indoors and outdoors (indoor seating is preferred in bad weather). The matcha set menu is offered, which includes matcha tea and a sweet. The matcha tea has a slight bitterness, but the sweetness of the sweet helps balance it out.

I visited Kinkaku-ji in December 2014! I thought it was great to come all the way to Kyoto. As I walked along the route, I found a sweet shop where I decided to try the Kyoto-style Mitarashi dango (170 yen). The lady in the shop was grilling them properly, and they had a nice crispy exterior. The sweet and salty flavor of the Mitarashi sauce was delicious. It was a tasty dango! It was relatively warm for the end of December that day, but if it had been a bit warmer, soft-serve ice cream would have been nice too. Thank you for the meal!

We went on a day trip to Kyoto in autumn, visiting Arashiyama, Ryuanji Temple, and Kinkakuji. After enjoying the beautiful autumn leaves and stone garden at Ryuanji Temple, we walked about 15 minutes to Kinkakuji. Upon arrival, we saw people eating dango and decided to try some ourselves. We ordered the recommended mitarashi dango for 150 yen, which came with warm sauce and made for a perfect snack. After enjoying our treat, we visited Kinkakuji and were truly amazed! The brilliance of the golden Kinkakuji was breathtaking! It had been over 30 years since my high school trip, but Kyoto is still wonderful!

Recently, I have been going to Kyoto quite often. I usually go there for errands, but this time I went for sightseeing. Unfortunately, I didn't have much time. Despite that, I always want to try different foods when I travel. However, I often end up choosing the wrong restaurants in Kyoto (just by chance). Either the food is bad and overpriced, or the food is delicious but they don't allow photos for blogs. So I decided to give up on trying new foods and visited Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) instead. I received this ticket as an entrance pass. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by the stunning view of the Golden Pavilion. It was truly beautiful and I was moved by its beauty. There were small waterfalls scattered around the area. I also found a shop selling traditional Japanese sweets as souvenirs, with plenty of samples to try. I tried a sweet dumpling from there and it was delicious. I also had a coffee to go with it. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

This is the gift shop at Kinkaku-ji, a popular tourist spot. I used to live near Kinkaku-ji and would often stop by this shop casually, like going to a convenience store. They sell not only Kinkaku-ji souvenirs but also many items unique to Kyoto. In the summer, you can enjoy delicious ice cream here. It's a great place to experience the essence of Kyoto through food and goods, making it very popular among students and adults alike.

After visiting Kinkaku-ji and walking for about an hour, I took a short break at the souvenir shop! Despite it being winter, the weather was nice that day, and many tourists were enjoying soft serve ice cream regardless of the season. It was thoughtful of them to sell soft serve ice cream even in winter, and I was grateful for that. I decided to buy a chocolate and matcha mix soft serve ice cream and enjoyed it with a friend. It was delicious after a nice walk. Eating soft serve ice cream at a tourist spot is always a treat, and it helps to refresh a little bit. Soft serve ice cream is a must-buy for me whenever I visit tourist spots. (smile) Whether it's for sightseeing or just to satisfy a craving for soft serve ice cream, I'll stick to saying that sightseeing is the main reason for my visit. (laugh)

On the second day of our couple trip, we leisurely cycled around the city of Kyoto, starting from Kamogawa Berry to Amida-ji Temple, and finally to the long-awaited Kinkaku-ji Temple. We visited on a sunny day on February 5th, and arrived around 2:30 pm. The place was crowded with mostly Chinese tourists. After taking photos of Kinkaku-ji Temple, we found a teahouse near the end of our route. Despite the crowds, we lined up inside and I went to get a temple stamp. I enjoyed a cup of matcha tea on a long bench with a large red umbrella in a stylish setting. Along with the tea, we were served sweetened azuki beans with apricot inside. It was a relaxing treat for us after a tiring day of cycling. If you visit during cherry blossom season or autumn foliage, you are sure to have a wonderful time. Be prepared for the crowds!
