I brought home the "Arashiyama Mont Blanc" cake carefully so it wouldn't tip over. It's a delicate dessert with a whole chestnut inside. The outer layer is covered with thin threads of chestnut paste. The center of the Mont Blanc is like a sponge roll cake with custard cream inside. There were many foreign tourists lining up.

I advised to refrain from the buffet at night, but for some reason, the person brought my sweets as a takeout. It seems they were craving something sweet. Just a little south of JR Saga-Arashiyama Station in Kyoto, you can see "Kyoto Kin no Hana Saga-Arashiyama Store" where they offer Mont Blanc, sweet potato snacks, and university sweet potatoes. As the weather was getting warmer in the afternoon, I ordered the Arashiyama Soft Serve. This product, resembling a Mont Blanc parfait, is topped with chestnuts instead of cornflakes, and a lot of thin, long noodles-like topping enhances the luxurious feel. While walking near Arashiyama Station, I came across a beautiful shop and decided to go in. It was a shop specializing in sweet potato snacks, offering various types of sweet potato chips. They come in different flavors, textures, and sizes, so you might find one that suits your taste. Overall, they were delicious!

My parents and I were planning to ride a trolley, but when we got off at the station, we found a delicious-looking shop along the way. My mother had seen this shop on TV, so we decided to stop by. It was a take-out shop specializing in sweet potato sweets. They showed us how they freshly squeeze the Mont Blanc cream right there, which got everyone excited. Even though we had lunch plans later, we couldn't resist trying the sweet potato mochi with Mont Blanc cream, and it was delicious. We were early, so there was only a short wait for three people, but when we passed by in the afternoon after riding the trolley and finishing lunch, there was a long line outside. It's a small and cute shop right near the station.

On December 4, 2021, Kyoto Kin no Hana Sagano Arashiyama Store opened near JR Saga Arashiyama Station in Saga Tenryuji Kurumadoucho, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. It is a sweets specialty store that uses chestnuts and sweet potatoes. At first glance, it looks like a takeout-only store, but you can also eat in on the two benches inside the store. In addition to Mont Blanc, there are also new products such as Mont Blanc with three sweet potato skewers, roll cakes, Danish pastries, sweet potatoes, sweet potato sweets, waffles with strawberries, etc. I was torn between the special Mont Blanc with strawberries and the regular Mont Blanc, but I chose the regular one. For the fresh squeezed Mont Blanc, you could choose from matcha, bamboo charcoal, or plain. I chose plain. You can watch the Mont Blanc being squeezed right in front of you, using a machine that looks like a hair dryer, which is quite interesting. Fried chestnuts are placed on top of the sponge base, the fresh squeezed Mont Blanc is squeezed out, then another fried chestnut is added on top, along with three more as toppings, sprinkled with powdered sugar, and it's ready. The Mont Blanc is quite large, enough for two people. The fresh squeezed Mont Blanc is fine-textured, firm, and not too sweet, with not much chestnut flavor. It might actually be a sweet potato Mont Blanc. The fried chestnuts seem to be simply fried. I might prefer topping it with candied chestnuts rather than fried ones... You can get quite full from this.

I ate Mont Blanc soft serve. It was delicious with lots of chestnuts in it. Also, the BGM in the store was mostly hip-hop, which was really nice.

I couldn't help but make a detour because it looked so delicious.
