At Mizuki-tei, which is within walking distance from Kyoto Station, you can enjoy delicious pork yakiniku. I tried the steamed pork with mixed offal and it was incredibly delicious. The steamed pork may look fatty at first, but the steaming process allows the fat to melt away, leaving a perfect balance. When dipped in vinegar miso and savored, the combination of good fat and meat flavor is delightful. The mixed offal is marinated in sauce, grilled without any additional sauce, and enjoyed piping hot. The crunchy texture and rich flavor indicate the freshness of the offal. The regular pork meat was also excellent, offering a classic taste that intensifies with each bite. In summary, it was simply delicious. The restaurant has a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere, and during my visit, there was even a child running around, adding to the unique time-traveling experience. With affordable prices, you can eat to your heart's content or enjoy it as a snack while sipping on drinks. Overall, it's a great restaurant worth visiting. Check out my blog "Yakiniku Encyclopedia" for more reviews on yakiniku restaurants across Japan.

On the second night in Kyoto, we visited this restaurant after making a reservation. The place was packed with no available seats for walk-ins. We ordered various cuts of meat such as pork, beef tongue, harami, fillet, hormone mix, guts, small intestine, liver, along with white kimchi, water kimchi, and soybean namul. We also had plenty of drinks including draft beer, Korean shochu, and makgeolli. Everything was delicious. Even after eating and drinking so much, the total bill for two people was around 13,000 yen. The staff was very polite and attentive. We realized on our way out that taking photos inside the restaurant was prohibited. Sorry about that. Next time, we want to try the kimchi hot pot. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

In Kyoto's Minami Ward, Kujyo, there is a place called "Suigetsutei" that is known for its culture of Kyoto's insect pork and Korean barbecue. Their specialties include Hormone Mix, Harami, and Tempura Genghis Khan style. They do not use sauce for marinating, only a rubbing sauce, and the seasoning is adjusted slightly depending on the type of meat, which is nice. It's a popular restaurant that is difficult to make a reservation at. It's a place where beginners and those who are not familiar with gourmet food might not enjoy. The overall taste is not overpowering, and you don't feel heavy after eating, which is nice.

Pig's feet are extremely delicious♬ There were other menu options, so I ordered while looking at the signs♬ I usually just buy pig's feet to take home, but this time I tried eating inside the restaurant from 4 pm. It was so delicious to eat freshly grilled pig's feet and drink there♬ The place gets smoky, so be careful with the clothes you wear. They also have kimchi hot pot, so I'll try that next time! The staff was friendly, making it a pleasant experience♬ No parking available, cash only.

I tried a few times to visit this popular restaurant but couldn't get in. I called when I arrived at Kyoto Station for a business trip, and was told I could come in 30 minutes. The steamed pork, a specialty of the restaurant, was delicious with no unpleasant smell and tasted amazing with the spicy sauce. I also tried the pig's feet with the same sauce. For grilled dishes, I had harami, ten-niku, and horumon mix. I ordered beer, highball, and makgeolli to drink. Even though I was stuffed, the bill came out to be 4200 yen. It's no wonder this place is popular! There were many families with children, so it's understandable why it's hard to get a table. No photos allowed, but it's part of the fun to go and see for yourself! (I accidentally took a photo, though.) Thank you for the meal!

Everyone, the new year has already begun~( ̄Д ̄)ノ I wanted to eat steamed pork at Kyoto Station, so I visited #Suigetsutei (46 Higashikujo Minamiyamacho, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture). This place is famous for its delicious steamed pork, and I believe it is the main branch of Suigetsutei located near Nishin. I've been curious about this place for a while, so I arrived just in time for the 4:00 pm opening. Although the curtain was already up, the dining area was only open from 4:00 pm onwards. Until then, they were selling for takeout, and I saw the tempting pork displayed in the glass case. As soon as the store opened, a rush of customers, mostly middle-aged men, entered the shop. I ordered a non-alcoholic drink, steamed pork (top quality), and kimchi. The steamed pork had a slightly boiled texture, and it was served with a red vinegar miso sauce. It was delicious and tender, without any excess fat. The kimchi was also tasty. I enjoyed it with the non-alcoholic drink. I thought about having beer with this combination. I then ordered rice and grilled meat, a mix of hormone and liver with sauce. The meat was cooked on a round iron plate reminiscent of Genghis Khan style, and it was delicious. The rice went well with it. I ordered another serving of rice and finished the meal happily. The man next to me ordered steamed pork and pig's feet, along with a combination of namul and kimchi, and beer. It was a perfect combination. The pig's feet were simply delicious. We enjoyed the namul, kimchi, and beer. Should we end with a real hot pot or kimchi hot pot? It seems like my review is becoming like "The Solitary Gourmet." Next time, I will definitely have beer and enjoy it to the fullest. I left the restaurant with a determination to have a beer next time, feeling like a disappointed tipsy middle-aged man. The total cost for steamed pork (top quality), mix of hormone and liver, kimchi, non-alcoholic beer, two servings of rice, was 2,770 yen. Unfortunately, photography inside the restaurant was not allowed. If you really want to see the meat, please check out her review. Also, the lady at the restaurant mentioned that this place has no connection with the Suigetsutei branch in Nishin.

I love Suidotei. The best yakiniku in Kyoto. Grilling with attention to the heat. Korean style. The heavenly meat, hormone mix, harami... all with rich flavors that blend perfectly when cooked. Happy hour starts at 4pm. Even while dining inside, people keep coming to buy the famous Mushibuta for takeout. People come alone for a quick dinner, couples come together, all enjoying the meat. I love it. I love this place. I just want to savor it forever. I love Higashi-Ku. I have permission to take photos.

Photography inside the store was prohibited, so I could only take pictures from the outside. I arrived right at the 4 o'clock opening time, but it quickly filled up. Takeout customers were also coming in one after another. It's a deep place! It was authentic. Steamed pork seems to be a specialty. It was definitely delicious! Since the meat is all offal, those who are not fans may find it challenging.

I used to visit this place often a while back, but it's been a while since my last visit. I'm not a big fan of steamed pork, but the one here was not dry at all, with plenty of fatty parts and a perfect tangy sauce that was very delicious. I also tried a few grilled meat dishes and left completely satisfied.

I visited this restaurant in Kyoto on a recommendation from a friend. I asked for recommendations and tried everything suggested. The steamed dishes, including the sauce, were delicious. The other meats were also tasty and easy to eat, which was surprising. I really enjoyed the meal, but due to the pandemic, I couldn't have any alcohol with it. I would love to come back next time and enjoy it with some drinks. Despite the low number of customers due to COVID, the restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere. It seemed popular with many takeout orders. It's located in a residential area, so it may be a bit hard to find, but it was worth going.

I knew it was delicious from the start, but it was truly the best. The atmosphere was amazing. Steamed pork, beer intestines, beer liver, beer marinated meat, beer skirt steak, beer tenderloin, and beer makgeolli. I love them all. They cook all at once in Korean style instead of one by one. If you try to cook one by one, you'll be told not to. I love it. The seasoning marinated in the meat is exquisite. Yakiniku is the best. Photography is not allowed inside the restaurant, but I got permission to take photos.

Located an 8-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station, this restaurant does not have parking. It is easily recognizable by the sign for Mizuki Tei, just a short walk from the Hachijo exit of Kyoto Station. Visited with a group of 4 on a Friday at 6:30 pm. The restaurant was almost full, with both table and tatami seating available. The individual spaces were a bit small, but they offered to hold our belongings with numbered tags. We sat at a table surrounding a gas stove and ordered drinks and various dishes such as grilled pork, kimchi assortment, hormone, harami yaki, and more. The prices were around 500 yen each, making it quite affordable. The taste was not as good as beef, but still enjoyable. We finished with chijimi and kimchi nabe. I recommend the grilled pork, harami yaki, chijimi, and kimchi nabe. After eating and drinking, the bill came out to just under 3400 yen per person. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely like to visit again due to its convenient location and affordability.

It's about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station to "Suigetsutei". I made a reservation and visited on a weekday night. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. I preferred the plump hormones and heavenly meat over the popular pork belly. The kimchi hot pot was delicious, so I ordered the hormone hot pot on a whim, but the taste was too bland. I must have ordered them in the wrong order.

On March 26th, I took the rapid train from Kobe to Kyoto and met up with a friend in front of the station. Our original purpose was to visit Mizuki-tei, a Korean-run yakiniku restaurant. They serve large glasses, not the usual jugs you see in Kansai. We ordered a platter of kimchi, which was bright red but not too spicy. The specialty here is the insect pork, which is incredibly delicious and tender without any unpleasant odor. You can eat as much as you want with the spicy miso dipping sauce. I even bought some to take home, as some neighbors are also fans. We also tried the hormone mix, probably liver, harami, and intestines. We washed it down with some probiotic yogurt drink and Makgeolli (laughs). I'm sorry, but I can't provide a more detailed review. Please visit the restaurant yourself to confirm. m(- -)m

It had been a while since I had a craving for pig's feet, so I decided to visit this restaurant. Even though it had been quite some time since my last visit, I remembered how delicious it was and decided to go back. The result was that it was still very delicious. This time, I went with a slightly larger group, so we were able to order a variety of dishes, which was great. The exterior and interior of the restaurant have a nostalgic feel, as it has been in business for a long time, but the steamed pig's feet were consistently delicious. I feel like the desire to go back again has been reignited.

Aifang-chan went to a restaurant that serves pork offal, which she loves. She made a reservation for 4 o'clock, so she tried not to eat too much in the morning, but ended up having some sweets, so she was a bit worried. She decided to order little by little while watching her condition. She ordered bean sprouts for 250 yen, which had a light sesame flavor. Then she had egg soup for 350 yen, which had fluffy eggs but was a bit bland. For meat, she ordered pork neck for 580 yen, pork tendon for 560 yen, and harami (skirt steak) for 550 yen. The pork neck became puffy when grilled, with a good texture rather than taste. It was chewy but not tough. The pork tendon and harami were the winners, according to Aifang-chan. She also tried to order raw pork neck, but they said they couldn't serve it this year due to regulations. The portion size was generous and the cost performance was good. Many customers came in just to buy steamed pork or pig's feet. Aifang-chan couldn't eat much this time, but she plans to come back for a rematch with offal and pig's feet next time. It's so like her. Thank you for the meal!

[Overall Impression] About a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station's Hachijo Exit, this restaurant is a Korean-style barbecue place that mainly serves pork hormone, pig's feet, and steamed pork. They offer a wide variety of pork cuts at a reasonable price. While pork barbecue is their specialty, they also offer steamed pork and pig's feet for takeout, giving the place a deli-like aspect. The quality of the pork, whether raw meat or hormone, is high, and the prices are reasonable overall. A very reliable restaurant. [Detailed Review] Located in the area from Kyoto Station's Hachijo Exit towards Jujo, this area may seem a bit low-key. However, there are some good restaurants scattered around, like Arataya for okonomiyaki and Tendo for set meals. One place that caught my eye in this area was Mizuki-tei. This popular restaurant specializes in pork barbecue and Korean cuisine. The exterior has an orange tent with a blue noren, giving off a typical barbecue restaurant vibe. They also seem to sell pig's feet at the storefront. Inside, there are two rows of tables with gas stoves and one table in a raised area. The place is run by four women. This restaurant opens at 4:00 p.m., which is a bit early. When I visited around opening time, there were already a few regular customers present, as well as some takeout customers. It feels like a place that is deeply rooted in the community. The menu includes various pork barbecue dishes, pig's feet, steamed pork, as well as some Korean dishes like chijimi and tteok. Although beer is not listed on the menu, they seem to have it available. For this visit, I ordered the following dishes: - Boiled soybean sprouts: A simple dish to start with, served hot. - Pork intestine: Thick cuts of intestine mixed with a tangy sauce. The texture is firm and easy to eat. - Steamed pork (regular): A dish made from the torso part of the pig, with a good balance of fat and a simple salt seasoning. - Pork jowl and harami (skirt steak) grill: Served on the same plate with miso sauce. The pork jowl has a chewy texture with good flavor, while the harami is tender and juicy, both tasting delicious with the miso sauce. [Final Thoughts] While barbecue is usually enjoyed with alcohol, I opted for rice this time. The flavors here go really well with rice. The rustic and calming atmosphere, along with the slightly early opening time, make it a great place to visit. A very reliable restaurant. The total bill for today came to 2,560 yen. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to eat grilled pork and decided to visit this restaurant because it had high ratings. It's located in a dark residential area with a bright shop standing out. They offer regular and premium grilled pork, and I tried both. The premium one had a fatty part that melts in your mouth. Just be careful not to overeat! It was quite cold, maybe because we were sitting under the ventilation fan. We warmed up with a kimchi hot pot. We had plenty to eat and drink, including beer, and it cost less than 3000 yen per person for three of us. The cost performance was amazing!

I have a hard time remembering places, but I found a delicious restaurant where I often get takeout from. Today, I decided to dine in and it was crowded as usual. Everyone seemed to be having a great time and the smell of grilling meat filled the restaurant. I love the tender steamed pork here, especially the fatty parts which are sweet and taste great with salt. I ordered a mix of hormones, fillet, and skirt steak for the BBQ. The meat was seasoned with a sweet and savory sauce, and it was delicious. Personally, I really enjoyed the skirt steak. I also tried the chijimi for the first time and it was surprisingly good, not too chewy or undercooked. Overall, I find that the steamed pork is better when eaten fresh at the restaurant in terms of both taste and price. It's a mystery why that is...

Headed to "Suigetsutei" in Minami-ku, Kyoto. It's a pork-centric yakiniku restaurant located about 550m northeast of Kujo Station on the Karasuma Line subway. The cute pig illustration at the entrance greeted us warmly, but inside the restaurant, with table and tatami seating, there was a fairly hardcore atmosphere, including customers who seemed to have come straight from just a few minutes away in their everyday clothes. The interior was slightly hazy due to the lack of a smokeless roaster (lol). Started with pig trotters (high heels) before grilling the offal. Enjoyed the gelatinous mass that slid off the bone. The pork belly (upper) had skin on, and the "tonpi" at the end was jelly-like. Despite its white appearance, it was not greasy due to steaming which removed excess fat. It's probably best dipped in sweet and sour chojang, but personally, I quite like it with just salt. The pig's pouch had a crunchy texture and paired well with the sauce. Had pork liver raw for the first time in my life. Drizzled with sesame oil and sprinkled with salt to taste. It was surprisingly delicious without any raw smell, thanks to its freshness. After trying various side dishes, ordered hormone and harami next. Grilled vigorously amidst the smoke. The water kimchi in between bites of meat was also delicious. Stuffed to the brim (lol). Reasonably priced and fresh meat. Recommended for those who have no qualms about pork offal and the unique atmosphere. Thank you for the meal! (^^)
