August 8, 2023. Kyoto Station. There are so many Western foreigners here!! It feels like a good percentage of the people are foreigners. Starting from August 10th, Chinese group tourists will also be allowed. Osaka's Minami area is already becoming filled with foreign languages. Had breakfast at Hotel Granvia. The customers were all Japanese. You can get seconds for rice and miso soup. I got seconds for rice. Last order is at 10 am. Hotel members get a discount of 400 yen. It was delicious. Ordered the breakfast set for 3,200 yen (tax included). Thank you for the meal. Piano: Sumi Wataru.

I had a kaiseki lunch. Each dish was carefully made and the ingredients were delicious. It is located inside Hotel Gravia and directly connected to the station, but the entrance to the hotel was a bit hard to find. The restaurant is spacious and convenient to use near the station.

I had a Matsukado bento for lunch. The corn sesame tofu appetizer was refreshing and had a smooth texture. I wish the bento had a bit more volume, but the taste was just right. It was a bit disappointing that the rice was corn rice instead of white rice.

I had breakfast at a Japanese restaurant at Granvia Kyoto. The meal included dashimaki tamago, grilled salmon, yuba, burdock root manju, and shredded dried fish, all typical of Kyoto. The colorful breakfast was satisfying and I enjoyed multiple refills of tea, allowing me to leisurely start my day. I recommend this calming breakfast. Thank you for the meal!

This is an accommodation facility located in a building adjacent to Kyoto Station. The accommodation fee includes breakfast. The breakfast ticket included in the accommodation plan can be used at either the Japanese restaurant or the Western and Japanese buffet called "Le Tan". Since it is located next to Kyoto Station, a great advantage is being able to end the night at "Daiichi Asahi", a famous ramen shop in Kyoto! I was able to slip in for a stay this time. For breakfast, you can choose between rice porridge or white rice, and the set is determined accordingly. When I sat down and presented the ticket, I was served warm tea and soup first. The breakfast set looked colorful and substantial, but it was designed to be enjoyed little by little, making it a well-balanced breakfast set.

This was my first visit. I used it for breakfast at Granvia. You can choose between okayu and rice for the meal. Even though I had been eating and drinking the day before, I managed to finish the Kyoto-style Japanese meal easily. Overall, I enjoyed the meal. I would like to visit again if I have the opportunity. Thank you for the meal.

Connected directly to Kyoto Station, we used the private room for up to 6 people. There were 4 of us and the menu we reserved didn't have any descriptions of the dishes. Appetizer included sakura leaf-wrapped dishes, small sea bream sushi, firefly squid with vinegar miso, shrimp with lily root and wheat gluten, and marinated daikon radish. The soup with cherry blossom sesame tofu was the most delicious. The sashimi included grilled abalone and Wakasa-style grilled Kyoto beef steak. There was also a soup dish with sea bream and seaweed, rice with red miso soup, and pickles. For dessert, we had strawberries. We were so engrossed in conversation that we neglected to fully appreciate the flavors of the food. The restaurant is a foodie's delight, with only photos of the main dishes and no gimmicks, offering traditional Japanese cuisine.

For those who want to enjoy a calm meal in a refined atmosphere directly connected to Kyoto Station, I highly recommend this place. I visited on April 7, 2023, and rated it 5 out of 5. Taste: ★★★★ Presentation: ★★★★★ Value for money: ★★★ Service: ★★★★ Ambiance: ★★★★ The first photo shows the Ukihashi Bento (5000 yen), and the second photo shows the Kyoto Bento (3900 yen, excluding duplicates). I had the Ukihashi Bento, which included cherry blossom sesame tofu bento (lotus root manju, sake marinated grilled salmon, assorted sashimi, yuba, bamboo shoot manju, butterbur and bamboo shoot with bonito flakes, grilled shrimp, kombu-cured mackerel sushi), rice, red miso soup, pickles, and sakura mochi. Everything was delicious. I felt full while enjoying it slowly, and by the time I was eating the sakura mochi, I was already satisfied. I will definitely visit again when I want to have a proper meal in a calm atmosphere. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Hotel breakfast! Kyoto cuisine! Lots of small dishes, so full! And the dashimaki tamago was unbelievably delicious! The grilled mackerel with salt was also amazing! Ranked number 1 in life for grilled mackerel with salt! You can also choose rice porridge for rice! I couldn't really tell what kind of vegetables were in the pickles, but they were all delicious! They even had matcha warabi mochi for dessert! It was too luxurious! The calm atmosphere inside made me feel relaxed even though I woke up early!

The breakfast at Granvia Kyoto was delicious, with the option for unlimited rice and miso soup which I couldn't resist and ended up having three servings. The grilled fish and dashi were tasty, and I felt like I had a healthy and elegant morning. However, the noisy Chinese guests at the next table were quite disruptive. I wish they would be more considerate in public places.

I absolutely love the words "recommended" and "limited quantity." If both are present, it's definitely a must-try! Recommended set meal at Kyoto Cuisine for ¥3900 including tax. - Appetizer: Sesame tofu - High-tiered dish - Covered dish - Rice - Side dish - Pickles - Soup - Dessert. The sesame tofu appetizer captured my heart. The high-tiered dish was outstanding, enjoyable both visually and in taste. I made a reservation for a weekday and visited the restaurant. Due to the autumn foliage season, I could only reserve a time slot at 1:30 pm. I ordered the lunch set for 3900 yen when making the reservation. The meal started with sesame tofu and ended with dessert of warabi mochi. Overall, it was a decent Japanese lunch option near Kyoto Station.

Hotel Granvia Kyoto's Japanese restaurant, closed on holidays for breakfast. On the second night of our stay, we arrived at 7:15 am to find 5 people waiting as the restaurant opened at 7:00 am. We provided our name at the entrance and waited for about 10 minutes on the chairs prepared around the restaurant. The breakfast menu overlapped with the previous day's buffet, but we appreciated the calm atmosphere for dining. We started by choosing rice or porridge, with a savory dashi sauce served with the porridge. Before the meal, we were offered a small cup of bonito dashi and roasted green tea. The rice was from Kyoto's renowned rice restaurant Yaguraemon Gihei, and refills were available. Pickled vegetables were from Kyoto Tsukemono Gioon Kawakatsu, and miso soup was also refillable. The Nishikyo-yaki was delicious, and for dessert, we had warabi mochi. I accidentally chose porridge without knowing the rice was from Yaguraemon Gihei, but the porridge was still tasty. I didn't have seconds due to a tight schedule, but I plan to return for a rematch. Unfortunately, there was no coffee served after the meal.

When I stayed at Hotel Granvia Kyoto, I had breakfast there. They served a Kyoto-style breakfast with local specialties and seasonal ingredients, such as grilled fish, rolled omelette with broth, and sesame tofu. There were a variety of small side dishes. The rice was made with famous rice called Yatsubae Yonembe. You could have seconds and also switch to rice porridge if you like.

We used J-WEST points to enjoy a pair meal voucher at a traditional Japanese restaurant called "Ukibashi", which costs 6,900 points (equivalent to 6,900 yen). The voucher includes a popular "Matsukado Bento Pair Meal" consisting of appetizers, Matsukado Bento, rice, and dessert. The normal price for two people is 12,000 yen, but we were able to use it for 6,900 points this time. Overall, we felt satisfied with the experience for 6,900 yen, but would have been disappointed if we had paid the full price of 12,000 yen. The Matsukado Bento included sashimi, simmered dish, grilled dish, sesame tofu as an appetizer, tempura during the meal, shimeji mushroom rice, and dessert. However, we were disappointed by the fact that the shimeji mushrooms in the rice were of low quality and there was only one piece. It didn't feel worth the 6,000 yen per person price. There was also no farewell gesture after we paid the bill, but we understood that it was a meal paid for with points. The service, including the reservation process, was efficient and the sashimi and tempura were delicious, despite the slightly strong flavor of the simmered dish.

I had the Japanese-style afternoon tea "Waka"! The quality is top-notch as expected from a hotel restaurant, with each item meticulously prepared. They had a great selection of sweets for matcha lovers like matcha canelé, matcha roll, and matcha brûlée, as well as dishes like yuba and sashimi, Kyoto-style pintxos, and temari sushi. The price is a bit high at 5000 yen including tax, but considering the generous portion, it's well worth it! The meal is so filling that you'll want to come hungry and ready to eat. Highly recommended for those who are in Kyoto for business and don't have much time for sightseeing.

I had the Hanakago Gozen for 3800 yen at Ukihashi, a Japanese restaurant located inside the Granvia Hotel directly connected to Kyoto Station. Each portion is small but delicately prepared and delicious. It may be a bit lacking for men, but it's just the right amount for women. Even as a light eater, I didn't feel uncomfortably full and was able to enjoy a cake break at 3 o'clock. Since it's a restaurant inside the hotel, you can have a leisurely lunch in a beautiful space.

I visited "Ukibashi" for lunch to use the Kyoto GoToEat meal vouchers for the first time in a while. It had been two years since my last visit, and the restaurant had been renovated and looked beautiful. However, I was told that the renovation actually took place two years ago. I remembered that every dish I had tried before was delicious. This time, I had crab dishes, as listed below: - Crab miso with sesame tofu - Crab Hirous soup - Crab sashimi - Crab chawanmushi - Yuba roll with crab cream stew - Crab hot pot - Crab rice, red miso soup, pickles Each dish was skillfully prepared using crab. Personally, I didn't think the crab rice was necessary.

I visited for lunch and reserved the Matsutake mushroom course to commemorate the opening of the station building. I searched for various restaurants since I came to Kyoto, but I didn't have high expectations as I easily got a reservation at a convenient restaurant near the station. However, it turned out to be a very good restaurant. The service was good, the food was excellent, and it was delicious. With 3 soft drinks and a course for two people, it cost around 15,000 yen. I would like to come back again.
