I thought it was just a typical touristy Japanese sweets shop, but it was surprisingly delicious and the staff were very kind. The sweet sake was a comforting taste and was much appreciated for warming up my cold body from the rain. Just a note, they don't have any salty menu items.

Shaved ice (strawberry milk) and green tea at Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. After visiting the shrine, we took a break at a cozy teahouse to relax. I still had memories of a traumatic experience at Kiyomizu Gojo, but the welcoming atmosphere of the teahouse was comforting. I truly appreciated the simple and delicious shaved ice that reminded me of festival treats. It was a great way to cool down and refresh my body.

Fushimi Inari - Fushimi Inari Sando Chaya - @sando_chaya
A shop located on the approach to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine from Fushimi Inari Station. The interior has a Japanese atmosphere and is quite popular among overseas visitors. When it comes to Japanese cuisine, you can't miss the sweet red bean paste! The freshly grilled rice cakes were excellent! I really like desserts with black sesame, but personally, I wasn't too impressed with the black sesame dessert here. Follow me on Instagram @yataguru.

After visiting Fushimi Inari Shrine, I took a tea break at a sweet shop called Sando Chaya along the approach to the shrine! It's located at 1-10 Fukakusa Kaidocho in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto. This tea shop is situated along the stone-paved approach to Fushimi Inari Taisha, with an open terrace where you can enjoy the charming townscape while savoring amazake, Uji matcha, and ice cream-filled wafers. I ordered the following items: Strawberry Shaved Ice - 500 yen, Lemon Shaved Ice - 500 yen, Melon Shaved Ice - 500 yen, Matcha Milk with Sweet Red Beans - 820 yen. The shop has a traditional Kyoto-style facade, and since there was a street fair happening outside, I was able to leisurely enjoy my shaved ice while feeling the summer vibes. The staff was friendly and accommodating, which was especially appreciated as I visited with my child. I felt really happy about their warm service. Located on the approach to Fushimi Inari, I recommend stopping by this shop during your exploration of the area. Enjoy!

I went to the Fushimi Inari Sando Chaya tea house ☺️ It's a picturesque tea shop that is very Kyoto-like. I ordered the matcha milk kakigori, the brown sugar milk kakigori, the Inari sweet sake (with grilled rice cake), and the country-style mochi (with red bean and soybean flour). The kakigori here is not very icy, more like fluffy. They use different types of matcha for each menu item because they want you to enjoy Kyoto's matcha. The matcha milk was delicious. It's getting hot now, so if you visit Fushimi Inari, be sure to try the kakigori here! Thank you for the meal! ✨

★Located on the approach to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. ★Casual atmosphere. The height of the low table and the cushion on the floor are not suitable for sitting cross-legged or in seiza style. It's not very comfortable, so I think the turnover rate is fast. ★Taste Black Sesame Parfait @ 1,300 yen (tax included). It has various ingredients and the taste is delicious ♡

Yay ❤️ The day before yesterday, I went to Fushimi Inari for the first time. My fortune was great and there were food stalls lined up, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. On the approach to Fushimi Inari Taisha from Fushimi Inari Station, I stopped by "Fushimi Inari Sando Chaya" for some sweets. The Kyoto-style tatami seating under red umbrellas was so charming. I took off my sandals and relaxed. The menu had a variety of sweets to choose from, and I had a hard time deciding what to get. I ended up choosing the Rural Mochi with Red Bean Paste and Soybean Flour for 680 yen. It was a round rice cake, very fluffy and delicious, with sweet red bean paste and fragrant soybean flour. I also had an Asahi beer for 600 yen, cheers! It was fun to toast with a beer on the approach in Kyoto. I also tried the Sancha Parfait for 1300 yen, which I'm sure is a specialty of the shop. It had layers of brown rice bran, matcha ice cream, and was incredibly delicious. The gold container it came in was also very cute. There were many foreign customers, and I chatted with a couple from the Netherlands. They even took a photo for me, it was a fun experience. The atmosphere of the shop was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly. I recommend everyone to go and try the various sweets and drinks. By the way, after this, I drew a fortune at Fushimi Inari and got a great blessing. ❤️

The restaurant has a traditional Edo period tea house atmosphere where you can enjoy sweets. They have English and Chinese menus for foreign visitors. I tried the "Sando Parfait" (I always like to try items named after the restaurant), "Matcha Milk Kinako" (my first shaved ice of the year!), "Matcha Float," and "Hiyashi Ame Float" (their specialty is cold candy). The best was the Matcha Float, not too sweet and very refreshing! It's great that you can adjust the sweetness with syrup. The shaved ice is the old-fashioned crunchy type with red bean paste and matcha syrup. The syrup was delicious without being too sweet! The size was just right, not too big. The cold candy float was sweet and had a nostalgic Showa era flavor. Recommended for those who love sweet treats. The parfait was packed all the way to the bottom. The ice cream was delicious and rich. Personally, I didn't think blueberries and brownies went well with matcha, but some people might like the variety. Despite being a tourist spot, the parfait was reasonably priced at 1300 yen. It's a good place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere, so I recommend it for a break.

I went there for the second time, but the cold drink took a while to come, so I peeked into the kitchen since I was sitting next to it. I saw two boys in the kitchen who seemed to have been forgotten about. One of the boys was holding the glass where the cold drink was supposed to be, looking confused, then he just left the glass there. I mentioned to the owner that it was taking a long time, but she changed the subject. I then pointed out to a young female server that I was being ignored, and she awkwardly smiled. Eventually, the young girl went into the kitchen, made the drink, and brought it to me.

After visiting Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, I realized I hadn't had any matcha sweets since coming to Kyoto, so I decided to stop by this place. The atmosphere inside the store had a Kyoto vibe, which was really nice. I was a bit indecisive about the menu, but ended up ordering the parfait set, which was a limited-time offer. It was surprisingly filling and quite sweet, so the iced coffee was a good choice as a side. Eating the monaka on top of the parfait with the ice cream was really delicious. However, there were a lot of blueberries in it, and since I'm allergic, I had to stop halfway through... Luckily, I didn't have an allergic reaction (lol). Inside the store, there were couples, school trip students, and solo customers of all ages and genders. The prices were a bit high, but the food was delicious and I felt like I contributed to the tourism economy.

This was my first time visiting this place. It was a birthday celebration for a friend who loves Inari shrines, so after visiting Fushimi Inari Taisha and having lunch, we decided to stop by for dessert since we were already in Kyoto. It was delicious, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely. Thank you very much, the meal was excellent.

My sister and I visited Fushimi Inari Taisha on the way back. We still had some GoTo points left and our feet were tired, so we wanted to go to a place where we could relax and have dessert after eating. We found a nice-looking dessert shop with a great atmosphere that seemed like a Kyoto-exclusive treat, so we decided to go in together. The red bean paste had large grains and a gentle sweetness, and it was delicious. The tea we had was also very fragrant and paired well with the sweets, warming our bodies on that cold day. Personally, I wanted to buy the tea as a souvenir (even though we had just eaten udon before entering the shop). I also tried the hot version of their cold sweet drink, which was all new to me but very tasty. The atmosphere of the shop was very Japanese and lovely, with tatami mats where we sat, allowing us to relax and rest our feet. The staff were also very kind, with everyone having a lovely smile. I would love to go back to eat there again when I'm in the area. I want to taste that tea again! Thank you for the wonderful memories of our trip.

On this day (although it was in December 2019, before the pandemic), after visiting Fushimi Inari in Kyoto, I decided to stop by this shop. To be honest, I wasn't even hungry, but I was tired from walking and wanted to take a break, so I was drawn into this shop. I ordered warabi mochi. The weather was nice that day, and I was starting to feel a bit hot from walking, so I felt like having something cold. It was refreshing, and the combination of black syrup and soybean flour made it delicious until the last bite.

I took a short break during lunchtime, and the surrounding shops were crowded, but this place was empty, perhaps due to the time. I heard about Inari Amazake for the first time! It's amazake with mochi inside. It caught my interest, but I ended up choosing zenzai. It was a bit sweet, but within my tolerance. It was a relaxing time amidst the crowds at Fushimi Inari!

Although I was quite full, I was drawn into this restaurant. I was really curious about their amazake, so I ordered it and oh, it was so delicious! Thank you very much! It was a satisfying meal! Next time, I'll come back in the summer and try their shaved ice! I feel like I heard a voice telling me that, so I definitely want to come back!

I visited Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto for the first time. The thousands of torii gates were mysterious. It was hot in Kyoto, so I had shaved ice. The texture of the ice, the bitterness of the matcha, the sweetness of the milk and red beans were perfectly balanced and delicious. Highly recommended.

I arrived in Kyoto from Tokyo and visited Fushimi Inari from Teradaya. However, it was extremely hot that day and unbearable. My beloved dog Hachi was also exhausted, so we decided to seek refuge in this shop. Even though pets were not allowed, they let us in when we asked. I was so happy. I ordered an iced coffee and matcha shaved ice. It helped us cool down and feel better! Thank you so much! Arigato arigato!

I recently went to Kyoto and took a break at a café while visiting temples. It's called "Fushimi Inari Sando Chaya" and it's located at the foot of Fushimi Inari, about a 5-minute walk from Inari Station. The café has a traditional Japanese atmosphere with tatami benches and a mini garden-like terrace. The menu mainly consists of sweets, and they are known for their amazake. I ordered a matcha cream anmitsu, which was delicious with rich matcha ice cream, red bean paste, agar jelly, mandarin orange, mochi, and cherry. My friend ordered a matcha float with warabi mochi, which also looked great. The café is very relaxing and has a strong Kyoto vibe, making it highly recommended.

After visiting Fushimi Inari and on my way back, I noticed many shops lining the approach, but I was drawn to the sign for chilled amazake. It reminded me of the drink my grandmother used to give me when I was young. It's a nostalgic beverage that you don't see much these days. It has a strong ginger flavor and is very delicious on a hot summer day. The matcha red bean shaved ice was also tasty.
