Just a minute's walk from Kintetsu Kyoto Line Okubo Station, you'll find the carefully selected Wagyu beef yakiniku restaurant, Honjitsu no Osusume Okubo-ten. The restaurant boasts a sophisticated interior with chic lighting, creating a modern Japanese ambiance. The seating consists of sunken kotatsu tables and spacious table seats, providing a private and stress-free dining experience with call buttons available. The menu offers premium black Wagyu beef rare cuts, premium three-element pork "Matsuzaka pork" from Yamagoshi livestock, seasonal dishes, and Korean cuisine, all carefully selected by the head chef to provide the best quality Wagyu beef yakiniku. In addition to the standard menu, rare cuts are featured on the daily blackboard menu "Today's Recommendation." The restaurant also offers a special dish, "Hakata's ultimate motsunabe," which has been perfected through numerous visits to Hakata, along with yakiniku and samgyeopsal. We enjoyed a variety of recommended dishes, including Grilled Harami, A5 Roast with Charred Chili Sauce, Tomato Kimchi, Black Wagyu Beef Sliced in Kuri Form, Black Wagyu Beef Misuji, Sol Lung Tang Soup, Harami Yukke, and Chorogi Salad. The Grilled Harami is like a majestic dragon, tender and grand, with a spiral shape when lifted from the pot, creating a spectacular presentation. The meat is sweet, juicy, and incredibly delicious. The Black Wagyu Beef Kuri Form Cut has a perfect balance of fat and lean meat, offering a unique texture and melt-in-your-mouth marbling. The A5 Roast with Charred Chili Sauce features thinly sliced roast beef lightly seared on both sides, melting gently in your mouth like a delicate snowflake. The Harami Yukke is a concentrated blend of the meat's natural elasticity and umami, complemented by the chef's special sauce and egg yolk. The Sol Lung Tang Soup contains domestic tail bones, which are so tender that they crumble easily with chopsticks. The soup can be customized with sesame leaf powder, kakuteki, and dried seaweed for added flavor. The Tomato Kimchi has an iconic shape and is a delightful addition to the meal. Overall, the restaurant offers high-quality meat at a reasonable price, impressing even the most discerning yakiniku enthusiasts. In addition to yakiniku, the restaurant is known for its specialty motsunabe made with fresh domestic offal sourced through a unique route, showcasing the chef's dedication to creating exceptional dishes. The comfortable and relaxing atmosphere is perfect for gatherings with friends, family, or loved ones, making it an ideal spot for a date. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that guests feel welcome and at ease, making it a place worth revisiting. In conclusion, Honjitsu no Osusume Okubo-ten is a top-notch yakiniku restaurant that offers a unique and unforgettable dining experience, perfect for meat lovers seeking a high-class culinary adventure.

I have been there several times! There are various types of Yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) available, and all of them are delicious, so I recommend it to those who love Yukhoe and rare meats. You can order your favorite items without drinking, and it costs around 4000 yen per person for three people. If you are going to a chain restaurant for all-you-can-eat, I recommend this place!

I happened to discover a yakiniku restaurant near the station that also serves lunch. They offer a set with harami, sirloin, Matsuzaka pork, and chicken... The quality of the meat is quite good. They also allow unlimited rice refills... I'm on a diet so I just had a regular portion (lol)... Overall, a pretty good lunch option!

I happened to be in this town and found this restaurant open today. It used to have a lot of temporary closures, so I stopped coming. It's a yakiniku restaurant that looks like it has been renovated, with a spacious hall and semi-private tables separated by curtains. The hall is very dark due to the lack of customers, so even if you're alone, you get a whole table. The menu includes Western-style set meals, but I decided to try the recommended yakiniku set meal for 980 yen. I also ordered a medium-sized bottle of beer, which turned out to be 594 yen. It took quite a while for the food to arrive. I looked out the window at the downtown area of Okubo. The domestic beef ribs were okay, quite tasty. The pork was mostly fat, which made it look like meat when cooked. I left most of it uneaten. I'm not sure what kind of chicken it was, but I cooked it well and ate it. It felt a bit pricey for the quality, but I guess they factor in the cost of the grill and the effort. The last time I was here was 5 years ago, I wonder what I was doing back then. It was a trip down memory lane as well.

Nankai Electric Railway's "Honjitsu no Osusume" located under the guard at Okubo Station. Despite the name, it is actually a yakiniku restaurant. I visited this restaurant with my extended family for dinner. We parked our car at a nearby parking lot and entered from one of the two entrances that make use of the location under the guard. The atmosphere of the restaurant is calm with dim lighting, and there are regular table seats as well as a large tatami seating area, which is great for accommodating group customers. They have a good selection of children's menu items, making it family-friendly. While many yakiniku restaurants offer all-you-can-eat options at low prices nowadays, this restaurant offers a la carte ordering. We enjoyed delicious meat dishes. Thank you for the meal.

More than 5 years ago, there was a yakiniku restaurant that I used to go to as my favorite spot. It's located under the train tracks, so it's a hidden gem. I felt like going there again after a long time, so I visited (^ω^) They have motsu nabe and yakiniku tables, but this time I went for... of course, yakiniku! Starting with tongue salt, I also ordered hane shita loin, seafood chijimi, and more. Everything is so cheap!! I couldn't believe how affordable it was! But they also have high-quality meat available ☆ You can enjoy two types of sauces as well. And you can use fried garlic as much as you like, so crunchy (♡ ´罒` ♡) It's so delicious when wrapped in tongue salt and eaten (((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) My appetite was unstoppable! I recommend taking the next day off (—̻̚●͜—̻̚)b There are so many menu options to choose from, which makes it fun. I wanted to try so many things, but unfortunately, there's a limit to how much one can eat (✿ฺ-ω-)ゥンゥン In the end, it cost me only 3000 yen for one person! Such great value for yakiniku!! Amazing cost performance. Thank you for the feast ☆

Today's recommendation, is it really recommended? I visited a place called "本日のおすすめ" located just a short walk from Kintetsu Okubo Station where you can enjoy yakiniku and motsunabe. Due to the glare of the sign, the entrance on the left side is not visible in the photo, but this is the entrance. When you enter the entrance, there is a spacious space. You can also enter and exit through the door visible in the back right. The restaurant is located under the Kintetsu line tracks, so it seems to be designed this way. I had to wait a bit, so while wandering around the space, I noticed a flyer for full-time job recruitment. This is the reception. It feels a bit messy, doesn't it? Going further into the reception area, it looks like this. I feel like they could make better use of the space to increase the number of seats. At 本日のおすすめ, you can enjoy both yakiniku and motsunabe, so I requested a seat where you can have both. Depending on the seat, it seems that it may be impossible to have both, probably due to the presence of a smokeless roaster. Finally, we were able to sit at our table. After ordering various items, the first dish of beef tongue was brought to us. It was about 40 minutes after arriving at the restaurant. It might be better to confirm by phone before going. The motsunabe was also brought to us. We could choose from several types of broth, and since we were also having yakiniku, we chose the salt broth. It was a bit mediocre, and I think it would have been better with soy sauce. Then, one after another, the meat was brought to us. The yakiniku was not bad in taste. However, whether it can be called "today's recommendation" is debatable haha. We also ordered tuna yukhoe. We also ordered hormone. It was okay. We also had a seafood pancake. It was chewy and good. We also had potatoes. They were seasoned with spices and tasted good. Maybe this could be today's recommendation (laughs). Overall, it's not bad. I think it's good for gatherings with friends, but maybe not suitable for business entertainment.

<Second Review> Last time I used this place for lunch. This time, I used it for a year-end party at night. We had the 3000 yen course with all-you-can-drink. The restaurant was quite busy, probably because it's the year-end party season. For those who ordered beer, they serve a small bottle of beer for the toast. Why? Well, you end up ordering a glass of beer right away because the small bottle is gone in no time. However, the bottled beer was not cold enough. I quickly finished it and ordered a draft beer, which was nice and cold. The courses were served one by one. Grilling while drinking, drinking while grilling. Once you finish your drink, you order another one. This was the routine. I got used to talking while grilling and grilling while talking. This place is a yakiniku restaurant, so beef is the main dish. But actually, the chicken was delicious. Especially the fried chicken was excellent. The coating was very nice, and the meat inside was juicy! I could eat as many as I wanted. Being a drinker, I ended up having 6-8 glasses of draft beer. I don't remember the exact number, but I do remember that the service was quite slow. The drinks ordered by the customers next to us came out faster than ours. When we asked about our order, it suddenly appeared. This is an area that needs improvement. We were told it was a 2-hour limit when we made a reservation, but we ended up staying for a little over 3 hours. The available time may change depending on the expected number of customers at the time of reservation and the actual number of customers on the day. Thank you for the meal. <First Review> I had been curious about this place for a while. This time, I went for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant is located under the elevated railway at Kintetsu Okubo Station. It's a nice location under the elevated railway. When I entered the restaurant, I was surprised by how spacious it was! Even though I was alone, I was seated in a private room. It was so relaxing. The lunch menu had a variety of options. I was torn between wanting to eat while grilling. There were many options that seemed to satisfy this desire, but I decided to go with the set menu "Basic Bibimbap Large & Yakiniku Set for 880 yen." This set allows you to choose one from three types of bibimbap and three types of yakiniku. I was really indecisive. While waiting, the staff came to light the fire. It seems that lighting the fire before serving the menu makes it cook quickly. When the menu came out after a while, the breakdown of the 6 types of meat was harami, tetchan, chicken, pork, beef tongue, ... and what was the other one? Well, it's fine. They were all delicious. As a lover of horumon, tetchan was the best for me. The tender texture was irresistible! The bibimbap had a lot of rice because I ordered a large portion. However, the rest was normal, so no matter how hard I mixed it, there was still white rice left. But I made a decision to switch my mindset and decided to "put the grilled meat on the white rice and eat it," and it turned out to be delicious until the last bite. I confirmed once again that grilled meat and rice go well together. Oh, the meat was really good. I want to use it for dinner next time. Thank you for the meal.

This week's recommendation is this restaurant. Encouraged by the adventurous spirit of a fellow reviewer, I happened to come across this place and decided to give it a try. It's located near Kintetsu Guard, next to a pachinko parlor. Inside, there is a spacious and dimly lit area that may have been a lounge in the past. I was guided to a private-like room with curtains separating it from the neighboring tables, and a view of the residential street outside, which was a stark contrast to the surroundings. The waitress brought over a wide selection of menu items. I had initially planned on ordering the Bibimbap set, but had trouble finding it on the menu. Eventually, I discovered that I had to choose from 3 types of Bibimbap and 3 types of meat. It was a bit confusing to differentiate between the meats, but I finally settled on the pork loin. The waitress must have been a bit frustrated with me. It was quite a pressure. The thinly sliced pork loin, which seemed to have been frozen and cooked on top of the sauce, was delicious and had just the right amount of fat for my liking. The Bibimbap was decent, but the minced meat, which seemed to have been frozen in a ball shape, was a bit hard to separate. The Wakame soup was as expected. The salad was simple but well-prepared, with a generous amount of vegetables. When I think about it calmly, the value of this place lies in the way they beautifully arrange the meat and vegetables, as well as providing a space for customers to cook their meat. It's not exactly cheap, but it was worth it. Eating here was a good experience. It's a world of difference compared to the Go Go Curry across the street. After leaving downtown, I returned to my daily life. That was this week's recommendation. However, when I tried to go back to eat, the restaurant was closed. Quite surprising. I see, they have irregular closing days. Apr. 2013.

We wanted to explore a new yakiniku restaurant, so our family of four visited for the first time. The location is right near Okubo Station, a bit hard to find maybe? It was a Saturday night around 7 pm, but we were seated right away. We ordered the Family Set, Mizore Bara, Top Sirloin, Tsubo Hormone, Wiener, Kimchi assortment, two children's udon, Korean cold noodles, Wakatama Soup, two draft beers, two shochu on the rocks, two children's drinks (all-you-can-drink). That's all I remember. The highlight was definitely the Family Set, which had an amazing volume. The portions were generous and they also served the recommended cuts of the day, which was great. They had many set menus and kid-friendly options, which is perfect for families. The Namul served as an appetizer was exceptionally delicious. The location is convenient, and being able to drink and enjoy with your spouse using public transportation is a plus. It was great to find a good restaurant nearby. We definitely want to go back again.

In the afternoon, I felt like having yakiniku and looked it up on Tabelog, where I discovered a place in my local area of Uji! I decided to visit right away. The location is very convenient, just a 3-minute walk from Kintetsu Kyoto Line's "Okubo Station." The interior of the restaurant had background music playing, and it was quite spacious with attentive service staff guiding me to a raised seating area as soon as I entered. I ordered the "Hormone Yakiniku Lunch" for ¥850, which came with unlimited rice and miso soup. The lunch set included three types of hormones, including large cuts, and the dipping sauce options were decent. The rice was a bit on the firm side, and the miso soup contained wakame, cabbage, and carrots, with a slightly salty taste. Overall, for the price and the convenience of being near the station, as well as the opportunity to grill the meat right in front of you, the service was good! (There were also several groups of women enjoying yakiniku from lunchtime onwards.)

This is my second visit this month to this restaurant. It is a yakiniku place that does not offer all-you-can-eat options, but they do have all-you-can-drink. Currently, they are offering a discount on the drink package for around 1000 yen. The draft beer, which I thought was just regular beer, turned out to be Premium Malt - a pleasant surprise! They also have cocktails, shochu, sake, and other drinks available. While there is no all-you-can-eat option for the meat, they offer a variety of meat platters, so I recommend starting with one of those before ordering individual items. The beef tongue I had last time was delicious, so I ordered it again this time, but it wasn't as crispy as I had hoped. The restaurant also serves motsunabe, and the offal is well-prepared and not gamey. This time, with three people, we had a meat platter, around 10 individual items, and the all-you-can-drink package, which came to about 16,000 yen. The total bill was around 29,000 yen. Reservations for groups are recommended as the restaurant has large tatami rooms and semi-private rooms for about four people. We went on a Saturday night without a reservation, and we ended up sharing a table with another group as the restaurant was full by the time we left. There is another chain restaurant nearby that offers all-you-can-eat yakiniku, but I think it's worth it to pay a bit more for better quality meat and enjoy a leisurely meal once in a while. Thank you for the meal!

I had eaten the yakiniku (grilled meat) here before, but I had never tried the motsunabe (offal hot pot), so I decided to go and try it. It costs just under 1000 yen for one serving, and you can order for two people or more. You can choose from soy sauce, miso, or tonkotsu broth for the soup, and I went with the recommended miso. The offal was very tender and juicy, probably because the restaurant also runs a yakiniku shop. The miso soup and offal went well together, and even the ramen at the end was delicious. The all-you-can-drink option here is very reasonably priced at 500 yen for 90 minutes for soft drinks, and 1000 yen for alcohol. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the non-alcoholic plum wine. Overall, this place offers good value for money. I would definitely recommend the motsunabe over the yakiniku here haha.

I really wanted to have a hearty lunch, so I went to this place. You can enjoy a lunch set where you cook your own yakiniku for less than 1000 yen. This time, I ordered the bibimbap and yakiniku lunch set. The amount of rice in the bibimbap was a bit on the small side. During lunchtime, you can get a free extra serving of rice, so if you want to eat a lot, it's better to ask for extra rice. The quality of the meat is also good. I would like to try this place for dinner as well.

It's been a while since I last wrote here. This shop is one I've visited many times. It's a renowned restaurant in the holy land of Okubo. It's a pretty big place, suitable for both small and large gatherings. You can enjoy both yakiniku and hot pot here, making it a wonderful restaurant. It's a favorite spot of my senior colleague, who particularly loves coming here on Mondays. And on Mondays, you can enjoy half-price beer at this place. It's easy to drink too much, and I once ended up missing my stop at Kyoto Station on the last train because I held my pee for too long. Even on weekdays, they offer a great deal of 90 minutes of all-you-can-drink for just 1000 yen per person. The meat for yakiniku is delicious, and there's also a pork shabu-shabu all-you-can-eat option, so you won't run out of menu choices. The average age of the staff is quite young, and their youthful energy is palpable. The shop is always lively, with many customers from the Self-Defense Forces. However, the pork shabu-shabu all-you-can-eat option can be dangerous, especially on Mondays. We love drinking, which leads us to overeat and end up in a debate on how to defeat the pork, unable to drink beer because our stomachs are about to burst. And if you opt for all-you-can-drink, you're bound to lose – to the shop, to yourself. It was a funny sight when the four of us, three physically strong soldiers and me, struggled to finish just four servings of the hot pot. It's definitely worth a visit to Okubo.

I visited with friends for lunch and felt like eating meat, so I ordered the special barbecue lunch set. Unlike typical barbecue lunches where the meat is cooked by the restaurant, this one required us to grill the raw meat ourselves! The set included three slices each of tongue, salted beef, ribs, and skirt steak. It was a fun barbecue experience with friends for lunch. It was quite satisfying for women, and the best part was that it only cost 1000 yen! Plus, you could get unlimited refills of rice and miso soup. They also had regular set meals available, but I highly recommend the barbecue lunch set at this barbecue restaurant!
