There is no parking lot, so I recommend a breakfast recipe while waiting for the next appointment in the early afternoon. Oil-drizzled chicken-style rice: 1. Fry the appropriate amount of fried chicken in a fryer until it floats. 2. Place green onions from the udon corner on top of the rice. 3. Put the rice in a bowl and lightly season with a sweet vinegar sauce (kept on the fryer). 4. Place the fried chicken from the fryer on the rice and drizzle with black vinegar sauce. You can enjoy it by adding various vegetables of the day. If you have long green peppers, you can fry them in the fryer and mix them with udon soup stock for a delicious dish. You can also use them for various toppings for udon noodles that have been pre-boiled in a noodle boiling machine. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at 10:30 and was able to enter without waiting in line for the second group. Around 11 o'clock, more customers started to come in gradually. The overall variety of dishes was a bit limited, with only green vegetables available, which was a bit disappointing. However, I enjoyed the fried chicken, french fries, and side dishes that I could heat up with oil by myself. I don't usually eat this many vegetables, so I took this opportunity to eat a lot. The curry and miso soup were also delicious with plenty of ingredients.

At the end of summer vacation in late August 2023, as school was about to start soon, let's visit the Kanji Museum in Kyoto. The siblings hesitated at first, but eventually decided to go to the Pokémon Center instead. Unfortunately, it was closed that day, so they took the train to get there. The grandchildren brought their own wallets and bought Pokémon plush toys. The younger brother kept going back to the cashier to confirm the total amount before making the purchase. They then had lunch at a nearby vegetable buffet restaurant, where they could purchase lunch tickets with a drink bar included. Despite the hot weather, the wooden tables and chairs inside the restaurant provided a cozy atmosphere. The salad bar even had carrots and pumpkins to eat raw. The younger brother struggled with the hard carrots but eventually managed to eat them. The older brother, who dislikes vegetables, surprisingly enjoyed the potato salad and macaroni salad. He also expressed his desire to make curry udon, although he needed assistance with it. The self-serve fried potatoes and nuggets were a hit, as they could be fried twice for a fresh taste. They also enjoyed various side dishes like Manganji peppers, Nikujaga, and natto with plenty of Yukari on rice. Despite the heat, they were satisfied with the healthy lunch. They considered visiting the manga museum next, but were unsure due to the hot weather.

I used the lunch buffet and ordered additional pork shabu-shabu. They had a wide variety of fresh vegetables such as Chinese cabbage, komatsuna, and tomatoes, making it a fun vegetable buffet. What surprised me was the style of frying your own french fries and fried chicken. I was impressed by the delicious freshly fried potatoes and fried chicken. The pork shabu-shabu used both lean and loin meat, and the broth had a rich flavor, making it quite delicious.

The morning salad buffet costs 550 yen and can accommodate up to 40 people, with groups of around 10 people being seated at a time. There may be a wait even with number cards. There are 5 types of vegetables and 2 types of side dishes. The limited variety is nice for the price, but there may not be frequent refills and the staff may not be very helpful when asked questions. Overall, it may not be worth going out of your way to have breakfast here in Kyoto.

On July 22, 2023, around 7:30 to just after 7:30, I got ticket number 35 for the restaurant. It opened right at 8:00, but we couldn't get in right away. The turnover rate was not great. Towards the end, there was less porridge for people, and you had to finish eating by the end of breakfast at 9:15, so it was a bit rushed. I recommend getting tickets early, around numbers 1 to 10. For 550 yen, you can enjoy a variety of vegetables, side dishes, porridge, udon, and more, making it a good value and satisfying meal! It would have been even better if there were more side dish options or if they served curry. I hope this restaurant expands to more areas in the future! Thank you for the meal!

Today's morning was at the "Tsunosai Kamo Karasuma" in Kyoto City. In Kyoto, where food culture has flourished, there are so many options that it can be overwhelming for tourists. It's important to have a schedule in mind, move efficiently, and be prepared for unexpected situations to make the most of the day. Today, I started at 6:00 with a hot spring and sauna, then drove south to Karasuma to have the popular morning set that opens at 8:00. The buffet with a wide variety of Kyoto vegetables only costs 550 yen. The salad was full of fresh vegetables and there were plenty of side dishes. Especially addictive was the "hikiwari natto" that was all-you-can-eat. However, there was no white rice, only porridge. But my main goal in coming here was to enjoy a refreshing Kyoto vegetable salad in the morning, which I accomplished. The colorful and crunchy vegetables were delicious. And all this for just 550 yen, amazing.

The restaurant is located in Shijo-Karasuma. First, I received a link to the restaurant's website from a friend. It's full of keywords that appeal to women in their late 20s like "freshly picked vegetables," "old folk house," and "buffet style." (laughs) The weekend lunch buffet is 1,230 yen and includes home-cooked dishes, udon, curry, etc. The fresh vegetable salad was the most delicious! I recommend the Seigoin Kabura dressing. You can fry your own potatoes and fried chicken. It was a bit disappointing that the oil was low temperature and made the food soggy, but it was still enjoyable so it's okay. Thank you for the meal!

Today, I arrived at Shijo-Karasuma for work an hour early, so I decided to kill time with breakfast. I ended up at Tono Yasai Kamo Karasuma, a popular spot where there is always a line in the morning. Since it was a rainy weekday, I thought I might be able to get in without waiting, but as expected, there was a line. However, they said if I was willing to sit at the counter, I could be seated right away, so I didn't hesitate to go in. The restaurant was surprisingly spacious and packed with customers. The breakfast buffet style offered a wide variety of options such as vegetables, side dishes, rice porridge, miso soup, udon, and bread. The salad had four types of dressing: shibazuke, pickled radish, miso, and Saikyo miso, and the shibazuke dressing was delicious. I enjoyed customizing my porridge with toppings like yukari and tenkasu, and adding natto to my miso soup. It was a fun and enjoyable dining experience, and all of this for only 550 yen is unbelievably cheap! Mixing udon broth into the porridge and topping it with yukari and tenkasu was incredibly delicious - it made me feel like a genius! I heard that you wanted to eat a lot of vegetables (^^) I go to Kyoto every month, so I am always exploring new restaurants (^^) This place has a ticket machine inside where you pay, then you can choose your favorite dishes and eat in a buffet style. They offer Kyoto-grown vegetables, side dishes, curry, udon, and even self-service Japanese sake (with an additional fee). I visited an obanzai restaurant in Kyoto on a weekday at 1:00 PM and there was no wait. I tried the buffet lunch which was priced at 1,100 yen, but with the drink bar included it was 1,480 yen. The drink bar was not very impressive, so I'm not sure if it's worth the extra 380 yen. The salad had a variety of leafy greens, which was good. The menu included dishes like hijiki, dried daikon radish, okara, harusame salad, komatsuna simmered in broth, macaroni salad, burdock root salad, udon, rice, miso soup, hashed beef rice, fried chicken, and french fries. The seasoning of the obanzai dishes was just right for my taste, not too sweet. The udon soup was delicious. The restaurant was small and the fried chicken section had a setup where you could double fry the chicken, causing a bottleneck and making it difficult to get rice. The location of the double-fry section for the fried chicken was not ideal.

I had breakfast. I was able to eat a lot and I am satisfied with the 550 yen. They started distributing numbered tickets at 7 am, and people were already lining up before that. After getting the ticket, I had to kill time until the store opened at 8 am, which was a bit tough.

I visited with a friend for sightseeing. We purchased food tickets at the ticket machine next to the entrance. The interior of the restaurant was cozy and had a calm atmosphere. Half of the restaurant was filled with various dishes on display. In the front, there was a Kyoto vegetable salad bar with unique vegetables like karashina, kale, as well as carrots and tomatoes. The dressings included ones made with Kyoto specialties like hatcho miso. In addition to salads, they offered side dishes, curry, fried chicken, french fries, and hot pot. You can cook the hot pot at your table. It's like a buffet, but generally healthy and good value for the price. I think women, in particular, would enjoy the selection. I would love to visit again when in Kyoto. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I made a reservation for Monday at 11:00. It seemed like a reservation was not necessary. The sukiyaki buffet was 2000 yen and in a buffet style where you can eat as much as you want. When the vegetables run out, they are replaced with various other options. Reservations do not allow for the buffet, only sukiyaki can be ordered. Even just the buffet alone is quite filling, but the sukiyaki is also a decent portion. Personally, I enjoyed the rice porridge, hijiki, and okara. I recommend this place for those who want to leisurely enjoy a variety of foods.

I came to Kyoto and wanted to try Kyoto vegetables. Surprisingly, they open from 8:00 in the morning, but lunch starts at 10:30. You need to buy a ticket at the entrance before entering. I arrived around 11:30 and it was still not crowded, but by noon it was almost full. The buffet mainly focuses on vegetables and they are well-seasoned. There is also curry and udon, both delicious. Later, they served sukiyaki with only meat and cabbage, but it was incredibly tasty. After finishing your meal, you need to return the used dishes. This restaurant is highly recommended. The buffet alone costs 1,100 yen, but adding sukiyaki almost doubles the price. Since there is no meat in the buffet, it can be a bit challenging.

Kyoto vegetables are traditional vegetables grown in Kyoto and are branded as Kyoto brand vegetables. The buffet offers a variety of vegetables, some of which are organically grown, pesticide-free, or with reduced pesticide use. Takeout is not available. Some of the Kyoto vegetables I am familiar with include Horikawa burdock, Mibu greens, Fushimi chili peppers, Mangetuji bell peppers, and Kakitani pumpkins. It was a good learning experience.

I bought a ticket from the vending machine before entering the restaurant, but when I got inside, there was no staff around, so I was a little confused about what to do. I waited for a while, but no one came, so I finally asked the camera at the vending machine, and then someone finally came. They handed me the ticket and I received a tray to pick my seat. I went to dinner time. The regular payment is about 1500 yen, but those with the travel support coupon were told it's 2000 yen. There was only one staff member and things didn't seem to be running smoothly. The system explanation and display were insufficient, so everyone was a bit lost and helping each other out to figure things out. The food was decent.
