I used it for lunch on a day off. The location is a convenient place in the middle of the town, about a 5-minute walk from Shijo Subway Station. I have used it for lunch two times before, but it was always Bun Cha, so this time, despite the very hot weather, I ordered Pho, and the spiciest Bun Bo was ordered. The food was served in about 5 minutes after ordering. Bun Bo contains red chili peppers, but it didn't look too spicy at first glance. When I took a sip of the soup, the beef bone broth came out first. Then came the spiciness of the chili peppers. However, the spiciness was extremely mild compared to Sichuan cuisine, for example. It was a soup that you could drink up. The noodles were Pho, I suppose? The shape of the noodles was not the round type that breaks apart easily like traditional Pho. It was a bit in between Udon and Pho. The ingredients included plenty of beef tendons and Vietnamese ham. Moreover, the meat still had a strong umami taste after the broth came out. Other than the noodles, there was pork belly rice and shrimp crackers in the salad. The pork belly was a bit dry and tough, but it tasted delicious when I poured the soup over it. The price was 1080 yen. It used to be in the 900 yen range, so the price has gone up, but it is still affordable and easy to use. Due to its popularity and location, there may be a line at certain times, but I think there won't be much of a line if you go at the opening time. Currently, it is rated as the top Vietnamese restaurant in Kyoto, considering the quality of the food, price, location, and atmosphere, it is understandable. I don't think you will be disappointed, so why not try it out once?
