We visited the restaurant for Respect for the Aged Day celebration with my son and mother. We had made a reservation last month, so we ordered the old menu which included 9 pieces of sushi and side dishes, as well as a finanche set. My son, who is picky and only knows conveyor belt sushi, decided to try the new menu with 14 different types of temari sushi. He was surprised by the careful preparation and the use of condiments in each piece. He even tried cilantro and vinegar citrus, saying "This is it!" He was also impressed by the taste of the tea and ordered three different types to explore the different flavors. We had a great time discussing which tea goes well with sushi, and the third steep of gyokuro. Although the prices have increased and the menu has changed since September, we were glad we decided to revisit. It was a wonderful experience to spend quality time with loved ones, enjoying both the visual and taste of the food. The knowledgeable and attentive staff added to the experience, especially the 80-year-old grandmother who was delighted by their service. We also took home some tea as souvenirs, and my son requested a matcha pudding. We continued to talk about the experience at Sonoda even after we returned home. Thank you for the feast. We heard that the menu changes every month, so we are looking forward to visiting again next month.

A shop standing on a narrow road. A white wall with a teacup mark as a landmark. As you enter, you will be amazed. A spacious room with traditional Japanese lighting. A waterfall flows in the back garden. Enjoy a luxurious lunch with friends at the lively counter. [Nagatsuki Set 3900 yen] 14 pieces of temari sushi, 3 types of tempura, chawanmushi, 3 side dishes, 1 serving of Japanese tea (on this day, it was karigane tea). [Souda Set 3600 yen] 14 pieces of temari sushi, a tasting of 3 types of Japanese tea (on this day, it was gyokuro, karigane, hojicha). It's here! Just seeing it raises your excitement! Colorful temari sushi lined up in a row. It's almost a shame to eat them. The chawanmushi has rice mixed in! The an and rice are intertwined, creating a chewy texture. The aroma of the sea bream is delightful! The yuzu miso adds a nice touch. The presentation and flavors of each piece of sushi are exceptional. The mackerel with vinegar and citrus is superb! The smoked salmon with camembert cheese is delightful! The contrast between the small okra and yellowtail is irresistible. The uni with squid is refreshing! The marinated bonito with sesame miso is tender and flavorful. The saury with celery root is surprisingly delicious. The sweet shrimp with coriander fried onion has an ethnic flavor. The beltfish with lotus root is crispy. The duck prosciutto with shine muscat and melon is refreshing and delicious. The simmered conger eel is melt-in-your-mouth tender. The tempura with egg yolk is like a mini oyakodon! The ikura is rich and intense. The side dishes and tempura are also delicious, with each vegetable infused with flavorful broth. The matcha is elegant and not too sweet or strong. The Japanese tea is brewed in front of you, allowing you to enjoy three different temperatures. The delicate chopsticks with the restaurant's logo are a nice touch. This restaurant pays attention to every detail. It has been a popular topic among locals, but I didn't expect it to be this good. You can truly experience an extraordinary lunch here.

I made a reservation on a weekday so we were able to be seated right away. It was a lovely space typical of Kyoto. I ordered a set menu for 3900 yen which included tempura, chawanmushi, obanzai, and 14 pieces of temarizushi. The tempura was crispy and delicious, the obanzai had 3 varieties which was nice. The temarizushi had unique combinations that I had never tried before and was very good! Although the lunch was a bit pricey, the portion size and quality were worth it! The matcha pudding that came with adding them as a LINE friend was rich and you could really taste the true flavor of matcha, it was delicious.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant was quiet and had a nice feminine touch. Each table had a menu with various types of sushi listed, which my hard-of-hearing mother enjoyed. The temarizushi was just the right size and each piece had a different delicious flavor. It was a truly enjoyable dining experience.

I visited this restaurant for the first time. The atmosphere of the shop was quiet and calm, but the lighting was dim and it was hard to see the food. The temari sushi was bite-sized and easy to eat, but the creative presentation seemed to overshadow the flavor of the fish a bit. I wished I could have enjoyed the taste of the ingredients more. The tempura was delicious, freshly fried, and the cold chawanmushi was exceptionally tasty. The plum flavor was so good that I wanted to replicate it. As expected from a tea house, the tea was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On the first day of my trip to Kyoto, I went to this restaurant that I was interested in for lunch. I made a reservation for the monthly special set called "Bungetsu Set". I arrived a bit early, but they were able to seat me sooner, which was helpful. The presentation was lovely, and the taste was delicious. The combination of seafood and condiments was perfect. The unique dishes were also tasty. The side dishes, tempura, and chawanmushi were also delicious. It was nice that a cup of tea was included. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The sushi toppings were visually appealing and each had its own unique flavor, some were not as tasty but still enjoyable. The rice was firm and filling. The chilled chawanmushi was delicious. The tempura was decent, but it would have been better if it was served freshly fried. The matcha ice cream and complimentary matcha pudding were also quite tasty. I wanted to have more of the tea that came with the set. It would have been nice if they offered refills, even for a fee, but I refrained as it was a bit pricey compared to other sushi places and they didn't offer a tea tasting option. If the flavors change with the seasons, I might consider coming back. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious.

I had the monthly set for lunch. I could tell they put a lot of effort into their tea, but it wasn't to my taste. However, I think people who like it would really enjoy it. The sushi and dessert were quite small, but it was nice to be able to try a variety of options. The seating was at a large table with multiple people, so it didn't feel very private, but the staff were attentive and the atmosphere was calm and pleasant.

The store was very crowded. I had made a reservation in advance, but still had to wait quite a bit before being served. The appearance was cute, but the portion size was average. The taste was okay. I'm not sure why it's so popular, but the tea was delicious. That's how I felt. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant on a certain day in April. The interior was smaller than I expected. The majority of customers were women (the rest were couples). It was my first time, so I ordered the Temari sushi set with 9 pieces and side dishes. Honestly, I didn't feel full with this amount. The Temari sushi was cute, but there were some combinations that I didn't really like. Overall, it was a nice restaurant, but a bit on the pricey side. I would visit again if I have the chance.

There was a lively and charming restaurant with a counter where you can enjoy hand-rolled sushi while chatting with the staff. The food was delicious with a variety of flavors to enjoy. However, I couldn't finish all the hand-rolled sushi as I got full from the rice. Overall, it was a great experience.

A stylish temari sushi restaurant in Karasuma Oike. It's hard to get a reservation, but I managed to book one for Sunday at 2:30 pm. The slightly dim interior has large tables and counter seats, creating an adult atmosphere. I ordered a set of 9 types of temari sushi and 3 types of obanzai. The beautifully crafted sushi had unique flavors tailored to each topping. Everything was delicious, but my personal favorite was the dried tomato + scallop + basil cheese sushi.

Advance reservation is required. I also saw it on Instagram and was curious, and I think many people felt the same way. There were a lot of pairs of two girls. There are about four sets of sushi to choose from. I went there for the tea, so I ordered tea separately. You can have unlimited refills of tea. As it is called Temari Sushi and Japanese tea, they serve it with care, even changing the water temperature. The taste is delicious, especially recommended for girls.

On 3/8 (Wednesday), I visited the restaurant with a reservation for 2 people. We reserved the "Temari Sushi 14-piece set." After disinfecting our hands at the entrance, we were seated at the counter. We were served water and hot towels before confirming our reserved course. We received an explanation about the menu and decided to add an order for three types of tempura (+800 yen). Additionally, if you add the restaurant on LINE and show the screen, you will receive a complimentary mini matcha pudding. It was delicious! The "Temari Sushi 14-piece set" included 9 pieces of seafood, 5 specialty pieces, a monaka, and a daily drink for 2,300 yen. The daily drink was Japanese tea, which changes with the season. The set included various types of seafood with different toppings, as well as unique specialty sushi. The presentation of both the seafood and specialty sushi was visually appealing and provided a delightful texture. The dessert was a small monaka with custard cream and strawberry topping, resembling a Western-style confection. It was easy to eat in one bite. We also ordered a side of three types of tempura (shiitake mushroom, sweet potato, and saury) for 800 yen, which were served hot and delicious. I visit Kyoto often, so I look forward to revisiting this restaurant when I am in the area. It was a delightful dining experience. Thank you for the meal!

A few years ago, I passed by this place and was intrigued, but it was fully booked so I couldn't get in. This time, during my trip to Kyoto, I made sure to make a reservation in advance and finally fulfilled my wish to visit this place. I ordered the set menu and watched as the te-mari sushi was prepared at the counter. I had eaten a bento a few hours earlier, so I wasn't sure if I could finish it all, but surprisingly, I did! The te-mari sushi, tempura, obanzai, and chawanmushi were all delicious. The variety of te-mari sushi made it fun to choose which to eat while savoring each one. It seemed like I was the only one with the same menu, but if you have a big appetite, I recommend the full set menu as it is truly impressive and Instagram-worthy. I also ordered the famous hojicha tea, which was served in five different steepings, each with a distinct flavor. Even though I'm not a huge tea enthusiast, I could taste the difference and was glad I tried it. The man who brewed the tea shared interesting stories and information about tea, making the experience even more enjoyable. I was impressed by the attention to detail, like the stone placed in the hand towel holder in the restroom. Overall, the food, ambiance, and service were excellent, and I would love to bring my tea-loving mother here someday.

Stylish-looking sushi. Each piece of sushi is not too thick, so you can enjoy it as a whole dish. The toppings on the sushi are also varied and unique. The matcha pudding dessert is very rich and delicious.

I was able to make a reservation three days in advance and enter the restaurant. I went with one other person and we were seated at the counter where we could see the cooking process, which was enjoyable even before we started eating. Each piece of sushi had its own unique flavor and was delicious, as well as visually appealing. We were able to experience the traditional Kyoto atmosphere. They seemed to pay a lot of attention to the tea they served, although I couldn't really tell the difference myself, it seemed impressive.笑・てまりずし 14 pieces.

I stopped by a restaurant called Mune-san while exploring Kyoto's food scene. When I opened the door, I was greeted by a deep interior with crafts and traditional Japanese motifs. After trying various foods, I decided to order the modest Handball Sushi 9-piece set. The set included 9 pieces of sushi, 3 side dishes, a serving of Japanese tea, and a rice cake. The sushi set was beautifully arranged on a tray. The menu offered a variety of interesting combinations, from familiar flavors like yuzu and plum to unique ones like yuzu pepper miso, gochujang mayonnaise, and peanuts. It was fun to imagine the flavors based on the menu before eating, and then check afterwards. It was nice to try a little bit of various flavors. The Japanese tea was delicious, and it was a comforting way to end the meal. They even offered hot water upon request. The gentle sweetness of the rice cake paired with the Japanese tea made for a pleasant lunch experience.

Visited the restaurant after making a reservation. The reserved seats were fully booked, so having a reservation was a good idea. Ordered the Kannazuki set which included Hand-rolled sushi (14 pieces), Tempura (3 kinds), Chawanmushi, 3 side dishes, Japanese tea (1 serving), and a sweet treat. The Hand-rolled sushi was as pictured, with a variety of types to enjoy. The Tempura and Chawanmushi were also delicious, but the Japanese tea was particularly impressive! The tea served that day was Kannoko tea, with a strong umami flavor reminiscent of kelp dashi, and a fragrant aroma. Also tried the matcha beer, which had a sweet foam and was easy to drink. Since there is an Indiagate nearby, I would like to visit there next time.

Hidden gem in a back alley, a must-visit exclusive restaurant. Make sure to reserve in advance as walk-ins were turned away. The hand-rolled sushi was not only cute in appearance but also had unique flavors, all at a reasonable price. The staff kindly guided us to the counter where they engaged in friendly conversation. It seemed like they had made reservations and the service was prompt. Overall, a great experience to soak in the Kyoto vibes. Thank you for the wonderful meal! \(^o^)/
