I visited the wonderful restaurant OCTAVAR, where everything from the atmosphere to the service was fantastic! The spacious hall, with a maximum of 150 seats, has a vibrant and relaxing Mediterranean feel. The concept is cute, beautiful, and just the right amount of volume in a casual setting. The menu offers a wide variety of options, including morning dishes, weekday lunch plate sets, and afternoon tea. There's even a special weekend lunch course with all-you-can-eat pizza for 2,800 yen. I visited for dinner and ordered a variety of dishes a la carte. The salted mackerel and whitebait peperoncino pasta was especially delicious! The location, directly connected to Kyoto Station, makes it convenient for those coming from work, dates, or family outings. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience!

We made a reservation for 11 friends for just the seats, so we were told that we couldn't have the course meal on the day of, but the staff kindly accommodated our request and we had a great time. We are grateful. The interior of the restaurant had a calm atmosphere like a hotel, which made us feel relaxed.

I stayed at Keihan Grande and used the night package which included a beer tasting set of 5 kinds with appetizers paired with each drink. I don't drink alcohol, but the other two people with me seemed to enjoy it! I think this set with appetizers is a great deal. The food was also delicious.

I had dinner with my uncle and aunt who live in Kyoto, as well as their youngest daughter, my cousin. We were able to meet up well before our reservation time, so we arrived at the restaurant earlier than expected. It had been about a year and a half since we last saw each other, so I was really happy to reunite. Despite the sudden invitation, they were able to adjust their schedules to meet, and I am truly grateful for that. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and we also tried a craft beer tasting set, which allowed us to sample different beers. It was nice to see their energetic faces and catch up. While our other cousins are scattered all over, making it difficult to meet up casually, it seems like everyone is doing well, which is the most important thing. The restaurant has a Foodie rating of 3.40 based on 66 reviews.

Holiday reservation from 11:30 am for 90 minutes, priced at 4,400 yen per adult (including tax and service charge). We were seated promptly at 5 minutes before the scheduled time and the meal started right away. As it was located in Keihan Hotel, we did not have high expectations for the sweets, so we came with the intention of enjoying a lunch buffet with all-you-can-eat strawberries. The restaurant was quite crowded with around 50 people, making it difficult to take photos of the food displays. Every dish featured strawberries, and while the main dishes were satisfying, the roast beef was poorly sliced and some pieces were fatty or had tough sinew, so we avoided them. Other dishes included strawberry sushi, strawberry pasta in three varieties, strawberry soba noodles, and strawberry mapo tofu. Personally, I didn't mind the strawberries, and overall, the food was decently tasty. The sweet treats, as expected, were a mix of commercial products, so I only tried the ones that seemed appealing to me, such as the glass desserts, shortcake, and rare cheesecake, all of which were delicious. There were three types of strawberries, all of which were tasty. Several cake stands were available for self-serving and photo-taking. During the meal, there was a raffle event where the restaurant staff dressed up as Strawberry Man and drew numbers that corresponded to table numbers, with prizes including a 20% off meal coupon and bath salts. Everyone seemed to enjoy the event. This was my first visit, and thanks to a coupon, we were able to enjoy the experience at a reasonable price. It was not something I would pay full price for, but overall, it was a satisfactory experience. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a strawberry buffet! It cost 4400 yen for adults and 1100 yen for children. There were not only strawberry sweets but also rice dishes (salmon marinade, roast beef, meat, spaghetti, etc.) with strawberries in all of them. (laughs) I think it's okay if there are no strawberries in everything. (laughs) The strawberry buffet allowed us to compare and taste three different types of strawberries, not just desserts. There was also a raffle by the Strawberry Man in the middle, which made it fun for the children too!

[I went to an Ichigo Fair where everything from meals to desserts was strawberry-themed, with about 60 varieties of strawberries. The ticket included a Kyoto-Osaka bus ticket. I had no prior information so I was a bit anxious, but everything was delicious and satisfying. The staff were very friendly and made the experience enjoyable. The restroom was conveniently located near the restaurant, making it easy even with a 3-year-old. Strawberry dishes may be a matter of personal preference (lol), but there were options like a taste comparison of 3 types of strawberries and a variety of sweets. If your 1-2 year old likes strawberries, you could bring them along. There were many families with young children. I wished they had more photos of the dishes available, so I'm sharing some here.]

Weekend lunch buffet for 3150 yen. It's a hotel buffet, so the atmosphere indoors is calm and slightly upscale. There are many dishes, but the quality is average. Personally, I would prefer fewer dishes with higher quality.

Just a 2-minute walk from Kyoto Station, Octavar is a Mediterranean restaurant located on the 2nd floor of Hotel Keihan Grande Kyoto. The spacious interior is adorned with luxurious chandeliers, elegant furniture, and a sophisticated atmosphere. You can enjoy a variety of Mediterranean dishes such as freshly baked pizzas and pastas cooked in a stone oven. The menu also includes a selection of 9 draft beers, wines, whiskies, cocktails, and mocktails for those who prefer non-alcoholic drinks. Signature dishes like the passionate Arancini, a red rice croquette, and the flavorful Mackerel and Watercress Salad are must-tries. Each dish is beautifully presented and offers a touch of luxury at a reasonable price. Whether you're looking for a casual lunch, a relaxing cafe experience, or an elegant dinner, Octavar is the perfect spot. They also offer takeout options for pasta and pizza, making it ideal for enjoying a rich meal at home. Located just a minute's walk from Kyoto Station, this all-day dining restaurant is a great choice for any occasion, including Christmas parties. Why not indulge in Mediterranean cuisine while watching the passing Shinkansen trains?

For those who come to Kyoto, there are various ingredients to entertain them, such as tofu from Nanzenji Temple, fresh sardine soba, local milk, and rice. The miso soup is always carefully managed, with fresh condiments added. There are no buffet-specific out-of-stock items. The roast beef is freshly sliced and delicious. The attention to detail is excellent. Thank you for the wonderful meal. DQ brand workwear.

I had the weekday lunch course, which included a choice of main dish and pasta, along with appetizer salad, bread, dessert, and a drink for 2500 yen, which was quite reasonable. The appetizer salad consisted of a trio of starters, the pasta was spaghetti with octopus and clams, and the main dish was roasted guinea fowl with spring cabbage. For dessert, I chose the Dolce Misto (+150 yen). Various juices, coffee, cafe au lait, cappuccino, and tea were available for free at the drink bar. The restaurant is located on the second floor of Kyoto Station's Avanti building near the Hachijo exit, with a nice open terrace and good views. Despite the pasta being a half portion due to adding a main dish, the meal was still filling. While the food didn't have any standout flavors, the price was satisfactory. The most memorable part was surprising my sister with a birthday message on the dessert. I would have been happier with more variety in taste and a coffee server.

Used for breakfast during my stay. Visited with moderate expectations as it is a city hotel near the station. The interior seemed to meet the standards of a city hotel, but the menu was less than expected. There were few made-to-order items and some dishes didn't quite meet the standard in terms of taste. Overall, it was a bit disappointing.

I stayed at Hotel Keihan Kyoto Hachijoguchi and had lunch at OCATAVR on the 2nd floor of Hotel Keihan Kyoto Grande before checking in. The main space, inspired by the Mediterranean sun, is a spacious and bright area with high ceilings that create a sense of openness. You can enjoy pasta, paella, and pizza baked in a stone oven in a casual setting. The pasta lunch set includes soup, a choice of 6 pastas, a choice of 5 desserts, and access to a drink bar offering various juices, coffee, cafe au lait, cappuccino, and tea. After 1 pm, the set is available for a discounted price of 1500 yen. I chose the duck and eggplant peperoncino pasta and the hazelnut and chestnut mont blanc tart. Everything was delicious, and I had a relaxing lunch time in this lovely space.

I used the set menu for lunch. It was moderately crowded, maybe because it was Sunday. You can get your drink by yourself, but everything else is served to you. The course includes appetizer salad, soup, main course, and dessert. You can choose pasta, meat, or fish for the main course. The meat and fish options cost an additional 200 to 250 yen. I had informed them it was my birthday when making the reservation, so they wrote a message on a plate for me. It's a good amount and price for lunch.

I visited because they were having a strawberry fair. It's right near Kyoto Station Hachijo exit. The inside of the store was open and bright, and lovely. It was a buffet, but everything served was delicious. I was satisfied with all the strawberry sweets I could eat. They also took proper measures against infectious diseases!

We tried a course where we could enjoy 10 different types of premium beers, and it was great! Premium beers can be quite expensive when bought at the supermarket, so having them available for all-you-can-drink at a restaurant is really nice. The smaller glasses they serve the beers in are perfect since you need to try all 10 varieties. Conquering all 10 was surprisingly easy! Although you do get quite tipsy in the process. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, but the taste was just okay. The portion sizes were a bit disappointing, so if you're aiming to fill up, you might need to order some extra dishes. We ended up adding two pizzas. Overall, considering the all-you-can-drink deal, I think it's a good value. If you love beer, this place is definitely worth a visit!

I stayed at Hotel Keihan Kyoto Grande, which is very close to Kyoto Station. It was a convenient hotel for taking the limousine bus to the airport. The breakfast venue for the hotel was at this restaurant. I went around 7 o'clock in the morning and was seated promptly, but there was a line at the buffet area. I couldn't decide what to eat after looking at all the options, so I just grabbed what I wanted and ended up with a Japanese-style meal. I got a box of Japanese side dishes, which included plenty of vegetables, and I felt full after eating that with rice. It was nice to be able to pour the tofu into a bowl to eat, which is a unique way of serving breakfast at a hotel. They use local ingredients, so I was able to have a healthy meal in the morning. Thank you for the meal.

On the last day of the long weekend, I visited the restaurant after making a reservation for a seat. The restaurant had large glass windows facing the station building, offering a nice view of the city, bus terminal, and departing Shinkansen trains as the evening approached. The high ceiling created a pleasant atmosphere. There were three couples and three solo diners already seated when I arrived. The restaurant had a casual vibe rather than a formal hotel dining feel. While they offered reasonably priced set menus for both lunch and dinner, I opted to order a la carte. They also had a variety of craft beers available for unlimited refills, which seemed popular among the older male patrons. For my order, I chose the watermelon salty dog, white sangria, prosciutto salad, margherita pizza, ribeye steak, prosciutto tasting plate, pasta with olive and caper tomato sauce, garlic pilaf, and salad. The salad portion was a bit small, dressed with French dressing. The pizza from the stone oven had a crispy crust but lacked a strong basil and cheese flavor, which is just a matter of personal preference. The ribeye steak was delicious, with a great garlic soy sauce. The coarse black pepper and rock salt on the side added extra flavor without being overwhelming. The prosciutto tasting plate was generous and made for a perfect appetizer. The pasta was cooked perfectly, not too hard or too soft. The garlic pilaf was topped with sliced garlic and plenty of mushrooms, with a surprisingly sweet taste that paired well with the garlic sauce from the steak. While there were no standout dishes, the overall experience was enjoyable. The prices were reasonable, with tax included in the menu prices. I would definitely consider going back again.

In January 2020, the breakfast venue at Hotel Keihan Kyoto Grande in front of Kyoto Station is shown here. There are quite a variety of side dishes, and I think there are quite a lot. I put a little bit of various dishes on my tray, and then loaded up on salad! I love macaroni salad, so a combination of vegetables and macaroni is the ultimate lineup for me (^○^). I always have orange juice as my drink ♬ I poured curry over rice... but it seems like it was actually curry soup for noodles?? There was a small mistake, but I regained my composure and started eating. Looking back now, I regret not having the fried egg or omelette that I saw nearby customers eating and wanted to try. I was being a bit shameless (・・;). There is nothing particularly noteworthy about the meal, it's just the basic hotel buffet-style breakfast. Being right in front of the station, the location is excellent, and the early booking discount for the room with breakfast included was more affordable than I expected. Thank you for the meal (o^^o)

All-you-can-drink premium beers! Oh! Both Ebisu and Premium Malt's are available in 10 varieties. This is fantastic! With reasonably tasty course dishes included, the price is 5000 yen including tax. I worked hard to find a coupon and it was worth it. The food is not bad, but it's a bit better than a family restaurant in terms of quality. However, the portions are a bit small, as evidenced by the thinness of the pate. But with beer as the main focus and this food as the accompaniment, it's quite satisfying. It's a great place for conversation like "This beer has this kind of flavor." The atmosphere was better than I imagined. The high ceilings, spacing between tables, chairs, and table sizes were all good. There are also large windows that make it feel open. However, some of the seats in the back without windows and with low ceilings are a bit disappointing. So it's important to request a seat with a good view outside. It's a fun place for beer lovers, no doubt!
