I was thinking of having ramen for lunch in Kyoto (again), so I decided to go to Ramen Alley after a long time. The menu I wanted was sold out... At that point, I thought about going somewhere else, but it looked delicious so I impulsively ordered the ramen with lots of chashu, called Triple Chashu something. The seaweed with a strong presence was interesting. I reluctantly went for it, but it was rich and to my liking! I'm glad I didn't give up! Sorry for doubting it! It had a rich and slightly pork bone smell, but it was the kind of flavor that I wanted to eat! I will definitely go back.

It's been a while since we gathered, starting with a daytime drinking session! We went from an izakaya to yakitori and ended up addicted to ramen. For those of you who are new here, we've decided on the aged tonkotsu ramen with two kinds of roasted pork and flavored egg. The rich and flavorful taste is irresistible! I only remembered the taste of the ramen (laughs).

Ramen Kogane-ya Kyoto Ramen Koji Store inside Kyoto Station
Today's Order: Aged Tonkotsu Ramen
This ramen shop inside Kyoto Station seems to be popular in Akashi. The taste is a hearty, agricultural-style tonkotsu ramen, but it's completely different from Hakata. Compared to Hakata, the thickness and richness of the soup are overwhelming. While the noodles and toppings have a Hakata vibe, the ramen itself is surprisingly different. The thick soup clings to the noodles and enters your mouth as a whole, making it perfect for a tired body.

A thick pork bone broth!! Finally found a shop in Kyoto on the last day of the long weekend, even though it was super crowded. The shop is famous in Akashi. I ordered the regular pork bone broth, and it was delicious with a thick flavor that I liked.

The ramen was delicious and full of flavor. I ordered the Char Siu Trio, but there were only 2 types of Char Siu. The larger Char Siu was incredibly delicious and tender. However, the fried rice was not tasty at all. It was sticky, poorly seasoned, and had a confusing taste that needs improvement.

I arrived at Kyoto Station before 9 pm, and the first thing I had to do was to have dinner. Time was limited, so I had to make a quick decision to avoid being left without food late at night. The best option in such a situation is Kyoto Ramen Alley. I recently went to Don Quijote near Kyoto Station to have ramen at Kogane-ya Kyoto Station Front Store, but it was closed. I was surprised to find out that Kogane-ya was located in Kyoto Ramen Alley. I followed my instincts, bought a meal ticket, and entered the store. I ordered the "Aged Tonkotsu Ramen with 2 kinds of Char Siu and Flavored Egg" with extra firm noodles. The ramen was delicious, with a rich and flavorful soup that warmed my heart. The noodles were perfectly cooked and coated well with the soup. I also asked for some red pickled ginger, which added a unique kick to the flavor. Before I knew it, I had finished the whole bowl. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

Ramen Kogane-ya Kyoto Ramen Koji Store. Tabelog rating 3.32 (as of 23/6/5). The first time I went, it was really delicious! But the second time, it was just okay. It's a shame that the taste dropped in just a few months. I noticed that there were a lot of customers the first time, but it was not as crowded the second time. Also, it bothers me that they don't say "thank you" when I leave. Even when I say "thank you for the meal," there is no response, which makes me wonder about this place. Both times I had the Aged Tonkotsu Triple Chashu Ramen with Ajitama for 1,250 yen. The second time, the soup was too thick and concentrated, so I added some water to dilute it before eating. The first time it was really delicious... Looking at the photos, the appearance also seems different.

Once again in Kyoto, there was a little bit of a line at Ramen Alley Kogane-ya. It operates on a ticket system, and it seems like the prices may have gone up based on information from Tabelog. I quite liked the chashu and the soup. They usually have affordable boiled eggs for SDGs, but they were not available today. There were also many female customers.

After eating Nagahama ramen in Nagahama City, for some reason I started craving Hakata Ikkousha's tonkotsu ramen and decided to go to Kyoto Ramen Alley. However, a colleague from a ramen enthusiast company recommended this restaurant to me, so I decided to give it a try. When I arrived, I found the ticket machine system a bit challenging at Kyoto Ramen Alley. While I understand that the restaurant may have recommended menu items, sometimes the more basic "plain" ramen is listed towards the back, causing some confusion when the next customer is waiting behind you. The menu had a tempting item, the fried horse mackerel, so I ordered it as a set. Soon enough, the ramen arrived, I took a picture, and realized that it seemed fine, but wait, where's the seaweed? It seems that Kogane-ya's ramen has a unique touch with seaweed, but mine was missing it. I debated whether to mention it, but by the time I noticed, it was too late, so I let it go this time. Moving on to the most important part, the taste was satisfying with a rich tonkotsu ramen. The soup was thick and flavorful, just the way it should be. I chose the "regular" noodles, which were slightly firm. I also finished the fried horse mackerel and rice set, feeling full and content. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the Triple Chashu Ramen with flavored egg. The recommended choice is supposed to be firm, but I chose it to be extra firm. The three kinds of chashu were incredibly delicious. They were tender and flavorful, each with a different seasoning. Even women would love it, as we finished it all in no time.

I wanted to eat a rich tonkotsu ramen, so I chose this restaurant. The taste was excellent, just as I had hoped for. The broth was rich and the thin noodles paired perfectly with it. The chashu was tender and although it was oily, it didn't leave a heavy feeling in my stomach. The oil seemed to be full of flavor. I definitely want to go back again.

I arrived at the restaurant around 11 o'clock and found the ticket machine a bit confusing. I ordered ramen (800 yen), a boiled egg (50 yen), and extra noodles (150 yen). There was no pickled ginger or garlic on the table, so you have to request it separately, which was a bit disappointing. The taste was okay, but it was a little too salty.

Visited for lunch. Most of the seats were taken. Purchased a meal ticket and sat down. The mini ramen came out quickly, but the regular ramen took quite a while.
- Mini Ramen 600: The tonkotsu broth was strong, but the noodles were good and tasty. The portions were really small, maybe half the size of a regular bowl.
- Petit Set 350: The flavor of the chashu was quite strong, but the rice ball was a bit soggy with too much moisture. It would have been better if it was more like a regular ramen portion.
Thank you for the meal.

Today's lunch was at Ramen Koganeya in Kyoto Ramen Koji. It was my first visit to this place, which is originally from Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture. The ramen here reminded me of a slightly richer version of Hakata ramen. The noodles were thin and easy to eat, which I liked as a fan of thin noodles. However, as someone who loves soft noodles, I was disappointed that they didn't offer soft-boiled noodles. Thank you for the meal.

First bite to third bite: not so great → just okay → the sweetness gets a bit overwhelming towards the end. The fried chicken is not bad. It's a good restaurant but the counter, which separates the kitchen in front of me, is covered in dust, which I noticed halfway through and couldn't stop thinking about. It kind of detracted from the taste and overall experience. I wanted to point it out for improvement, but the place was somewhat busy and the staff seemed occupied, so I missed the chance to speak up. In the end, despite not being very busy, there was no eye contact or attention given to the customers or the restaurant as a whole, making it feel a bit impersonal. It's something that seems to be common in Ramen Alley, but it's different from smaller, independent shops. There's a sense of indifference, like they're thinking "we'll probably close down in a few years anyway." This place is better than most, but it's a shame that the months' worth of dust is still clinging to it.

I visited "Kogane-ya" located on the top floor of the department store in Kyoto Ramen Koji at Kyoto Station. This was my fourth visit as I always stop by when I'm on a business trip. The ramen here was different from the Hakata tonkotsu style, with a slightly milder pork bone flavor and a richer taste, which I found delicious. I also ordered an extra serving of noodles. Personally, I would be happy if they provided flavor-changing toppings for extra noodles at the table. It can get crowded even on weekdays during lunchtime, so be careful.

Hello ( ̄Д ̄)ノ I am visiting Kyoto Station Building Ramen Street to visit a ramen shop that I have never been to before. It's just before lunchtime during the Kyoto sightseeing season (March), and Ramen Street is incredibly crowded. Even though I arrived early, there are lines forming at each shop. I need to quickly decide on a shop! This time, I chose this shop... #Ramen Kogane-ya Kyoto Ramen Street branch (901 Higashi-shiokoji-cho, Kyoto Station Building 10F) It seems like they specialize in tonkotsu ramen. Let's go ahead and visit the shop. I used the ticket machine in front of the store to order the tonkotsu ramen for 800 yen and added a fried chicken set for an additional 350 yen. I lined up and waited for about 10 minutes. The shop interior is surprisingly quick, and I was guided to my seat where I handed over the ticket and waited. There is black pepper on the table. If you ask, they will bring you raw garlic and pickled ginger. After a short wait... Tonkotsu ramen and fried chicken set for 1150 yen have arrived. It's a tonkotsu ramen with a slightly cloudy soup. It comes with two types of chashu, seaweed, green onions, and wood ear mushrooms. The fried chicken looks crispy. I started by sipping the soup, which is easy to drink. It doesn't have the strong pork bone smell that women dislike, and the cloudiness might be from using soy sauce in the seasoning. It's an easy-to-drink tonkotsu soup. The chashu made of belly and loin is delicious. Especially the fatty belly goes well with this tonkotsu soup. The crunchy wood ear mushrooms and flavorful green onions are also good. The noodles are Hakata-style!! They are firm enough to be considered extra firm, even at the default level, they were reasonably firm. The fried chicken is delicious!! This goes so well with rice. I asked for pickled ginger halfway through and added it in. Pickled ginger (takana) is the best match for tonkotsu ramen after all. It was delicious. Ramen with fried chicken and rice for 1150 yen. I think it's a good deal for a dining place at Kyoto Station. Thank you, it was a delicious meal! ===========

During a business trip, I stopped by this place which used to be the location of Kitakata Ramen Sakanai. The soup had a perfect balance of thickness and saltiness, making it delicious from the first bite. The thin noodles reminded me of Kyushu-style ramen, which was great. There were three types of chashu, all well-seasoned and tasty. It felt like I was on a business trip in Kyushu enjoying delicious ramen, even though this shop is actually in Hyogo. Thank you for the meal!

Ramen Kogane-ya is a ramen shop located in Akashi, which opened on 11/15 last year on the 10th floor of Kyoto Isetan. The main branch is in Akashi, and the owner trained in Kurume, Fukuoka. Their signature dish is the Aged Tonkotsu Ramen with two types of roasted pork and seasoned egg for 950 yen. The Special Fried Rice Ramen is rich but not overpowering. There is a slight hint of smell, but overall it's enjoyable. The seaweed is interesting and a unique selling point of the restaurant, but considering the additional cost for the special seaweed, it would be better if they used regular seaweed to lower the price.

On the 10th floor of Kyoto Station is Ramen Alley, where famous shops from all over the country are located. I visited here, which opened in November 2022. I tried the Akashi tonkotsu ramen. As I looked at the bowl, I murmured that "Koganeya" is written as "Tora Kin'ya." Red ginger and garlic go well with tonkotsu broth. It was surprising to see that it came in a large portion when I ordered. It was a comforting bowl on a cold night.
