This day we stayed in Kyoto. It was a rare opportunity for just my wife and I to visit Kyoto. We chose a few restaurants with high ratings and not many tourists. We made a reservation because we really wanted to eat freshly baked pizza. Lately, we prefer restaurants that don't offer course meals. Due to foreign influences, they couldn't serve prosciutto or salami, so we ordered the appetizer of the day, an original spicy pizza, and a Peroni beer. It had been a while since I had Peroni, and it tasted delicious, maybe because I hadn't had anything to drink for about an hour. The appetizers included fish paste fritters, which were a bit salty so I wanted to squeeze some lemon on them. There were also thin slices of baguette with tuna, meatball and tomato stew, quiche, and eggplant with cheese, which was the most delicious. I ordered a Moretti beer. I wanted a Pilsner or Pale Ale, but the pizza arrived. It was spicy, so I hesitated to add the spicy oil, but once I got used to the spiciness, I wanted to add the oil. Oh! I forgot to take a picture. I took one after eating half of it. The restaurant was almost full when I noticed. I ordered a Chablis white wine in a decanter. I also ordered a Margherita pizza and received a chaser. The Margherita pizza is definitely a classic taste. I finished everything. It was a bit of a splurge for us, costing around 10,000 yen with sashimi available. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. Each item seemed a bit pricey, but we were satisfied. There is a pizza restaurant near Shijo Karasuma. I always noticed it because of the yellow sign outside. The appetizer platter had 5 different kinds and they were all delicious. My favorite was the eggplant wrapped in cheese! The pizza was chewy and tasty, and the pasta was made with various types of short pasta which was unusual but delicious. The fact that they offered non-alcoholic options made it even better, and I thought it was a good value for the price.

Thursday 19:28 I visited Goichipiza on a Thursday because it tends to get crowded on Fridays. There was only one group of customers when I arrived. I sat at a table towards the back. I was quite indecisive when looking at the menu. The staff recommended the risotto and orecchiette, but I really wanted pizza... After some contemplation, I decided on the following: - Premium Malt beer for 600 yen - Assorted appetizers (for one person) for 740 yen - Margherita pizza for 1,680 yen Although the appetizer was listed as being for two people, it was okay to order it for any number of people. I didn't have to order a drink, but it was hot so I couldn't resist ordering a beer. The beer arrived at 19:35. I had a clear view of the beer being poured as the beer dispenser was near my seat. The slender glass was beautiful. Perhaps because of the pizza oven or the lack of air conditioning, I felt thirsty and wanted some water. At 19:42, the appetizers arrived. I found the pizza-shaped plates amusing. The eggplant rolled with cream cheese was delicious. There was also quiche, baguette, caponata, and a round fried item that resembled tempura. The appetizers were unique and delicious. When the pizza arrived, it looked appetizing with a nicely browned crust. It was quite large, and I wondered if I could finish it all. In the end, I managed to eat it all. The combination of melty cheese and tomato made me crave more. Once I started eating, I couldn't stop. After finishing the meal, as I was drinking my beer, the manager or a male staff member brought a fresh towel. I had used the initial towel to wipe my hands after eating the pizza, but it didn't feel very refreshing. I was very pleased with the gesture. The total bill came to 3,020 yen. The menu prices were inclusive of tax. Dining alone for pizza can be daunting, but I felt comfortable dining here. It seems like a place where you can casually drop by. It would also be enjoyable to come with friends. I look forward to trying the recommended dishes next time. Thank you for the meal.

I went for the classic Margherita and tried the Teriyaki Chicken for a different flavor. The staff even spoke a bit of Italian, and the ambiance truly felt like being in Italy. The pizza chef skillfully baked the pizzas in front of the pizza oven. The freshly baked pizzas were delivered to our table, and they were deliciously hot! The thin crispy crust was particularly tasty, with a great flavor and texture, and a unique aroma from the oven. I was impressed and would definitely come back for more. The Teriyaki Chicken Pizza had a Japanese twist to it, but it was also very tasty. The Lasagna, which I don't often eat, had a delicious tomato and meat sauce. I like the Margherita pizza the most at Goichi Pizza. I can easily finish a whole pizza by myself. I still think Margherita is delicious. Also, I always order a Gin and Tonic with the mushroom tomato sauce stew. Sometimes I cheat and try other pizzas, but I always come back to Margherita. There used to be a lot of foreigners, but I wonder how it is now. I will definitely go back.

The dressing for the salad and the pizza were delicious. My friend and I each had a drink, and with an order of appetizers, salad, and pizza, we were able to fill up for just under 6000 yen ☺️
