Homemade roasted coffee is delicious♪ A hidden gem cafe in a back alley! "About Us Coffee" opened in September 2019 in Fushimi Inari, Kyoto. I had seen this place on Instagram and was curious to visit. When I had the chance to visit Fushimi Inari, I looked it up and found out it was nearby, so I decided to check it out. The cafe is about a 5-minute walk from JR Inari Station. It's tucked away in a narrow back alley, and after walking for a while, you suddenly come across a cafe with a black exterior. The building is quite impressive, and the cafe is filled with the aroma of coffee. The first floor has counter seats, and the second floor has table seating. The space is simple, stylish, and well-designed. They offer a wide variety of coffee types, from light to dark roasts, catering to different preferences. There is a large roaster next to the cafe, which adds to the atmosphere. The taste profiles of the coffees are displayed on a chart, making it easy to choose. Surprisingly, they also have a diverse food menu with 6 types of toast, 2 types of Keema curry, and various sweets like canelé, pudding, and donuts that pair well with coffee. Whether you want a light snack or a full meal, this place seems suitable for both. Upstairs, you'll find a stylish and chic space with one side having white walls and the other side having black walls, creating an interesting contrast. The highlight is the "flower wall" on the white side, made of artificial flowers but still visually stunning. It's a great spot for taking photos! For lunch, I tried the Japanese-style Keema curry, which starts off mild but gradually reveals its spiciness. It had a unique touch with hints of bonito flakes and natto. The texture of the green onions and sesame added to the dish's flavor. After lunch, I enjoyed some sweets - canelé and gingerbread man cookies - along with a deep roast coffee blend. Everything was delicious and exceeded my expectations. The cafe is not only a great place for coffee but also for tasty meals in a beautiful setting filled with flowers. It's conveniently located near the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine, making it a perfect stop during your visit to Fushimi. I highly recommend checking it out!
