Tonkotsu shoyu ramen ¥935
Draft beer (small) ¥572
As expected in Gion, the restaurant was almost full with 70-80% of the customers being foreign tourists. Thank you for the meal. #Ramenitsuwa #KansaiGourmet #KyotoGourmet #GionShijoGourmet #KansaiRamen #KyotoRamen #GionShijoRamen #Ramen #WantToConnectWithPeopleWhoLoveRamen

Kyoto solo trip~♪ Ramen (normal size) (935), one bite gyoza (429), croquette (121). The noodles are thin but firm, with a strong chewiness. The noodles themselves have flavor, like they are kneaded in? The brown noodles have a nice taste on their own. The seared large slices of chashu are impressive! They are thickly cut with a good texture that is not dry. You can really taste the deliciousness of the meat, and it pairs well with the soup. The one-bite gyoza is crispy on one side! The filling is creamy with a hint of sweetness.

I had grilled miso ramen with boiled egg topping and gyoza! It was late at night but I happened to find a place that was open and went in. Despite the late hour, the restaurant was packed, probably because there aren't many places open late. The food was piping hot and delicious - the boiled egg and soup were especially satisfying.

After drinking in Gion, we decided to have ramen as our last meal. We were considering a few options, but ended up choosing Itswa, which was the closest from our current location. When we entered the restaurant, it was almost full despite being late at night. It's no wonder that this ramen shop in Gion is so popular. Since it had been a while since we were in Kyoto, we ordered a full course meal - ramen, fried rice, gyoza, and fried chicken. Despite the large amount of food, the two of us managed to finish everything. It was delicious, thank you very much!

Around 11:00 PM, I visited a ramen restaurant called "Itsura" located at the corner of the first street up from Shijo Yamato Oji. The place opens at 7:00 PM, catering to the bustling nightlife of Gion. They serve traditional Kyoto ramen, with options like pork bone soy sauce ramen, double soup (pork bone and seafood), and grilled miso ramen. I tried the pork bone soy sauce ramen with an additional seasoned egg topping, which was flavorful and the chashu was tender. The broth had a strong soy sauce flavor. Overall, it was a unique dining experience and I look forward to trying their grilled miso ramen next time. Thank you for the meal. #ramen #Kyoto #gourmet

I had been wanting to go there for a while but the timing never worked out. Finally, I visited. They open at 7:00 PM, which is a bit late. I usually go to Ayame-san earlier in the evening, so often they are closed by the time I finish drinking. I ordered ramen and fried rice. The tonkotsu broth was not too rich, and I asked for the noodles to be firm, but they were soft.

I visited a ramen shop in Gion when I got hungry around 3-4am. The staff were very kind and provided great service, even though it was early in the morning. I ordered a set with fried rice. Eating this much at 4am might make you gain weight, so be careful everyone! LOL

Good evening ( ̄Д ̄)ノ After drinking and enjoying karaoke in Gion, we felt a bit hungry. As a group of tipsy friends, we were looking for a place to eat before heading home. After being turned away from our intended restaurant, we stumbled upon Ramen Itsuwa. We were told that everyone could eat there, so we immediately went in. The restaurant had counter seats, as well as tables for 2 and 4 people. On the tables, there were condiments like pepper, spicy miso, chili oil, and some kind of sauce. After a short wait, we were served the following:
- Yaki Miso Ramen (large) for 1100 yen: The ramen had stir-fried napa cabbage and onions topped with green onions. It had a nice miso aroma. The noodles were soft straight noodles, and the miso soup had just the right amount of saltiness, coating the noodles well. The miso had a fragrant and crispy taste, making it easy to slurp up. In our tipsy state, please take this review as a rough guide ( ̄∇ ̄) Why is ramen so delicious after drinking? It was really tasty, thank you for the meal!!
PS: I couldn't resist getting the large size ♬ Haha, I haven't made any progress, have I? ( ̄∇ ̄) Before heading home, I stopped by a Seven Eleven for a limited edition dessert! It was Kagiken's burnt caramel and apple with hidden sansho pepper ♡ It was really delicious^o^

This ramen shop was the perfect way to end my trip to Kyoto! Located within walking distance from my hotel in Gion, I decided to give it a try. The interior was a bit lacking in cleanliness and it seemed like the staff was mostly made up of part-time workers. I ordered the grilled miso ramen and a bite-sized gyoza. The miso ramen wasn't quite what I expected, as it was more on the mild side rather than bold and flavorful. But overall, it was decent enough for a meal in Kyoto.

After finishing work, I visited a ramen shop past 10 pm. I was the only customer and decided to try the default "Ramen" (780 yen) since it was my first visit. The bowl arrived with a large slice of chashu, menma, and chopped green onions. The soup had a thick layer of oil on the surface, making it piping hot. Unlike Kyoto's clear tonkotsu ramen, this broth was mild with no sour soy sauce taste, no pork smell, and a good amount of oil without feeling heavy. The noodles were medium-thin and chewy, blending well with the soup. The thick-cut pork belly chashu had a firm texture and was satisfying to eat. Despite its oily appearance, the ramen was not heavy or greasy, making it easy to enjoy even after finishing the bowl.

I was stood up by ramen and ended up at "Okaru," which turned out to serve curry udon. Since I really wanted to try ramen on this Kyoto gourmet tour, I decided to look for another ramen shop. I quickly spotted a sign that read "Yakimiso Ramen" at "Ramen Itsuwa," a place with a rating of 3.46 on Tabelog. I impulsively walked in, found a table easily, and ordered their popular "Yakimiso Ramen" as a satisfying end to my meal. The shop was quite busy, and I noticed many autographed photos of famous people on the walls. After a short wait, the steaming bowl of "Yakimiso Ramen" arrived. The aroma of grilled miso filled the air, and I was intrigued by this unique ramen. The broth was rich and flavorful, with a depth of miso umami that was truly impressive. The noodles were firm yet soft, perfectly complementing the savory broth. I finished every last bite and left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied, having filled every inch of space in my stomach. With a full belly, I bid farewell to the night streets of Gion.

Customer entered the store at 0:00 on Saturday and it was not crowded. It was my first visit in a while. I ordered the Yakimeshi Set for ¥1180 including tax, and a regular size Ramen and Yakimeshi for ¥1180 including tax. I was a bit drunk so I can't remember much, but it was delicious as usual. Thank you for the meal.

After having Gyoza in Gion, I visited this ramen shop for a final meal. This place in Gion operates only at night. The exterior is quite bold with large menu photos displayed. Inside, there are wooden counters and table seats, with moody jazz playing in the background. The menu consists of three main items: ramen, double soup ramen, and yakimeshi ramen, each available in large or chashu ramen sizes. They also offer side dishes like bite-sized gyoza, yakimeshi, and karaage, as well as ramen sets. I decided to order the yakimeshi ramen that caught my eye. It arrived in about 5 minutes. The miso-brown soup had a sweet and rich aroma. Upon tasting it, I found the soup to be medium thick, with a roasted miso flavor that packed a punch. The umami from the sautéed vegetables was also prominent, creating a well-balanced flavor. The noodles were medium-thick and curly, typical of miso ramen, and they absorbed the soup well. The ingredients included sautéed cabbage and onions, menma, diced chashu, and green onions, with the sweetness of the sautéed vegetables standing out. While the prices in Gion are on the higher side due to the location, the yakimeshi ramen was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Visit date: Wednesday, February 12, 2020, around 12:30 AM. After drinking in Gion, we went to eat as a way to end the night. The place is easy to find! It seems to be open until morning, making it perfect for a late-night meal. The sign outside the restaurant says "Popular Grilled Miso Ramen." The menu had some unfamiliar ramen options, which was exciting! We entered the restaurant. The interior was not very spacious. There was a counter and we sat at a table. There were four of us, and we ordered the following items: Chashu Ramen (regular size) - ¥1000 Grilled Miso Ramen (regular size) - ¥1000 Grilled Miso Chashu Ramen (large size) - ¥1320 Yakimeshi (fried rice) - ¥680 Rice (regular size) - ¥200 The prices were a bit high. After a few minutes of waiting, our late-night ramen feast arrived. It was so satisfying! I actually ordered the fried rice instead of ramen. It came with soup for ¥680. It was full of ingredients, had a rich flavor, and was delicious! I also had a taste of the Grilled Miso Ramen. The soup had a slightly smoky and mild miso flavor. When you think of Kyoto, you might imagine light white miso, but this was more on the rich side. It felt like they blended several types of aged miso. The medium-thick noodles paired well with the soup, making it a well-balanced Grilled Miso Ramen. The chashu also seemed to be of high quality, as you can see from the pictures! My friends also loved it and gave it high praise for being incredibly delicious! My stomach was full... I wonder if I can eat breakfast at the ryokan. Gion is famous for gyoza as a late-night snack, but Grilled Miso Ramen is now another great option to consider!

Ramen Itsuwa is a ramen restaurant located in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City. Despite having a rating of 3.38 on Tabelog, it ranks 348th out of approximately 2100 restaurants in the "Kyoto City Higashiyama Ward" ranking. In the "Kyoto City Higashiyama Ward [Ramen]" ranking, it is ranked 11th. I visited the restaurant for dinner and ordered the regular ramen for 750 yen and added a croquette for 100 yen. The ramen was delicious with a light and flavorful tonkotsu shoyu broth. The noodles had a good texture and the char siu was tasty. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Kyoto Prefecture is known for its many great restaurants, and Ramen Itsuwa offers a quality dining experience in the area.

After the beer garden in Miyagawa-cho ended, my husband, who has a lot of likes and dislikes and didn't eat much of the hors d'oeuvres, said he wanted to eat ramen for the finish ^^; We didn't feel like going too far, so we found this place while walking. It's a ramen shop on the north side of Gion. We ordered beer, ramen, and gyoza. I took a small bite of the ramen and two gyoza. The tonkotsu shoyu soup wasn't as rich as I expected, but the noodles were soft, which was not to my liking. The large, round chashu was impressive. The gyoza was a classic style with wings. Easy to make a reservation, and I would definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal!

A tonkotsu shoyu ramen restaurant located near Gion Shijo. The chashu is thickly sliced and seared, very delicious and tender. They are open even late at night, so I often come here after work. Due to the location, there are many customers who come after drinking. The ramen has a slightly strong flavor, but it's very delicious when you're hungry after work.

Ramen and fried rice. It was delicious when I added the spicy garlic on the table. Without it, the flavor was a bit bland.

I tried the grilled miso ramen for the first time after visiting many times. I wonder if tonkotsu shoyu ramen is tastier? Maybe it was because I was already full when I ate it? I wanted to eat chashu, but it wasn't in the miso ramen.

Straight thin noodles. The pork bone soy sauce soup has a strong soy sauce flavor. The chashu is recommended as it has a strong taste.
