When I was living in Kyoto, this restaurant was very close by, but I never had the chance to visit. When I was wandering around looking for dinner in the area, I decided to finally check it out. Here's what I had:
- Seared black wagyu carpaccio: The black wagyu melts in your mouth with a rich flavor that pairs well with wine.
- Spring vegetable fritto misto (rape blossoms, bracken fern, codium, butterbur sprouts): Crispy spring vegetables that were delicious, especially for only 800 yen.
- Avocado sashimi: Avocado cut into easy-to-eat pieces, perfect with a glass of red wine.
- Grilled Kyoto pork belly with black pepper: The fatty pork was surprisingly light and didn't leave you feeling heavy.
- Kyoto tomato and local eggplant mille-feuille gratin: A cheesy, hot gratin with layers of Kyoto tomato and eggplant. A gratin that's low in carbs, perfect for an older guy like me.
The restaurant may look small, but it actually has seating up to the third floor. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. Great experience! ( ^ω^ )

There are many creative dishes on the menu. The Soboro Naze was delicious but a bit too strong in flavor. The Baked Potato Salad had a lot of mayonnaise and cheese on a small amount of potatoes, making it an unhealthy combination that left my stomach feeling heavy. The Beef Tataki was decently tasty but had a lot of fat, which made me feel greasy. I thought I ordered a non-alcoholic Yuzu Hachimitsu Sour, but it turns out I was given alcohol without being asked. Also, my order was mixed up with a neighboring table's order, and there were food crumbs on the chair. Overall, there were many areas for improvement, especially considering the prices were not cheap. I will not be returning.

Located in a back alley of Nishiki-cho in the Asakusa district, this Western-style izakaya offers a variety of delicious dishes. Cloud ear mushroom tempura for 1000 yen, thick butter sautéed shiitake mushrooms for 680 yen, fresh bacon and cheese omelette for 770 yen, and Omi beef tendon stew gratin with bread for 1150 yen. The portions are small and the prices feel high. The taste is average.

I went out drinking with friends over the weekend. I made a reservation because they had a variety of drinks and food, but it was a bit disappointing. The salad and pizza were delicious, but the garlic shrimp (ahijjo) was... We could choose different ingredients for the garlic shrimp, so I chose shrimp and broccoli. It took a long time and when it finally arrived, there was no steam coming out. And the ingredients were wrong. The staff noticed and asked if it was okay even though it was their mistake. I didn't want to wait any longer, so I just ate it, but it wasn't tasty at all since it was already cold. We also ordered unusual items like fried muscat grapes, but they weren't to my liking.

This was my second time visiting, and I appreciate the flexible service such as changing seats and adjusting the air conditioning. Everything I had was delicious, but I was especially satisfied with the Bolognese spaghetti that had the restaurant's name on it. The orders came out in a timely manner and smoothly. The menu is also extensive, and I look forward to my next visit. I will definitely come back again. The customer service was great too.

We used it with our family. We enjoyed various dishes together and had a great time. The whole onion miso butter was a hit with the whole family! The corn tempura was very popular with the kids. We also enjoyed the eggplant and tomato gratin together. The staff, despite being busy, were all very friendly and left a good impression. Thank you for the meal! ♫

A shop located in a back alley of Karasuma. The lady who served us was very friendly, kind, and polite. The menu was extensive and as a ramen enthusiast, I found the prices reasonable and satisfying. The overall taste was a bit light, but not enough to be bothersome. The only downside was being rushed out after two hours. Other than that, it was good so I plan to visit again.

There is a stylish European-style izakaya in a back alley of Karasuma. The interior is black and quiet, creating a calm atmosphere. They have a wide selection of alcohol. The dishes seemed to be on the lighter side. The onions were soft, juicy, sweet, and delicious.

I always noticed this shop in the back alley I use for commuting. When I couldn't think of a restaurant for dinner with my friend, I decided to visit this shop. The interior of the shop had a nice level of separation between tables, creating a comfortable distance from other customers. It was perfect for a small group dining experience. They seem to be particular about their ingredients, especially the meat dishes left a lasting impression with their deliciousness. The menu was diverse and it took us some time to decide what to order because everything looked so delicious. The items we couldn't try this time will have to wait until next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

After work, I had some errands to run in the Shijo area and decided to check out a cozy-looking spot I had seen before in a back alley. Since I was alone, I was hoping for a counter seat, and luckily found a nice little restaurant. The staff assured me that it was fine to dine alone, so I went in. I was hungry and in the mood for a drink, so I started with a glass of white wine. I initially ordered potato salad, but the recommended dish was a fried dish made with taro, I think it was shrimp and taro. It was delicious and hearty. I also ordered shrimp and avocado spring rolls, which turned out to be fried spring rolls. They were tasty too. I followed up with a Moscow Mule, which was refreshing and delicious. I was leisurely reading a book when a waitress asked me what book I was reading. For my main dish, I opted for a pork stew, which was a bit rich but still tasty. I thought about ordering bread, but decided against it due to the amount of fried food I had already consumed. The counter seating was convenient, the menu had a variety of options, and the staff left me to enjoy my meal. I found a nice spot and would love to visit again for a solo meal.

I went to a restaurant called "Roppakuya Kado" near Daikokucho and Shijo Karasuma. It seemed like a sister store to "Rokuhakuya" located nearby that I visited a while ago. The 1st floor had counter seats, the 2nd floor had table seats with a black theme, and the 3rd floor had sunken kotatsu seats, but all the spaces were small and not spacious. The staff were friendly and pleasant. I had the following dishes (all prices excluding tax): Kyoto pork belly black pepper grill for 590 yen. Baked potatoes for 670 yen. Italian spring rolls for 720 yen (deep-fried spring rolls with fresh fish and herbs seasoned with tomato sauce and cheese). Mushroom pie for 920 yen (creamy and lightly flavored inside a crispy pie crust). Omi beef pilaf for 870 yen (lightly flavored and delicious). I realized that I ended up eating quite rich and flavorful dishes. The restaurant is located at Kamondocho 453-1075, between Muromachi Shinmachi and Shijo Kamikado, Nakagyo-ku. Operating hours are from 17:00 to 24:00.

"The rating of the shop during the visit was 3.05. When peeking inside from the window, the staff opened the door and welcomed me in, even though I didn't intend to enter. They greeted me with a smile, so I decided to stop by for a bit. I had potato salad and gratin as wine snacks. The flavors were decent and went well with the wine. The shop has few counters and is more table-oriented. It might be a good place for those who prefer to eat at a table rather than facing someone directly. I personally prefer counters, so I will visit again if the counter is available when I pass by."
