I learned about this restaurant on YouTube. I made a reservation on Tabelog at 18:00. I splurged on the Chef's Special Course. We sat at the counter. They change the menu according to the season. I read through the menu. For drinks, I had a lemon sour and my sister had black oolong tea. The first dish was a steamed meat bowl, which was very gentle in flavor. It was my first time trying steamed meat in a bowl. The appetizers were a cold horumon dish, a namul dish, and raw cow's intestines. They were delicious (I wanted more). The raw cow's intestines were melting in my mouth. The sashimi was fresh and tasty. I wanted to keep chewing on it. The heart sashimi was my first time trying it. It had a nice texture. The seared beef toro sushi, the akami and uni hand roll sushi, and the thick-cut tongue were all surprising in flavor. The chef mentioned that the Chateaubriand sandwich was a first attempt at using bread as a sandwich. The sirloin yakiniku was lightly grilled and then mixed with egg on rice. The meat melted in my mouth. The tail ramen was smooth and delicious. For dessert, we had a fondant chocolate. It was a homemade chocolate cake baked in a cocotte. It was a pleasant surprise with chestnut and yuzu flavors, paired well with Maeda Coffee's iced coffee. Since we sat at the counter, we chatted a bit with the staff and the chef, received their business card, and were seen off as we left the restaurant. I had only eaten their bento before, so it was my first visit to the restaurant. The meat dishes were unexpectedly unique, allowing us to enjoy the meat in various ways. The price was worth it. Even now, my sister and I remember how delicious the sukiyaki sirloin was. It gives us the motivation to work hard so we can come back and eat there again. The hospitality of the staff was great, so I recommend this restaurant for a special dinner in Kyoto. Thank you for the meal.

While strolling through Pontocho at night, I stumbled upon "Kyoyakiniku Hiro Pontocho Annex" and decided to go in. I didn't have a reservation, but luckily there was an available private room where I could enjoy a leisurely meal. The quality of the food was decent. I had noticed a decrease in the rarity and QSC level of Hiro due to their recent expansion, but this particular Pontocho branch had a special atmosphere that I found appealing. I would recommend this place to tourists as well.

I watched a video by YouTuber Kotatsuhan and decided to visit Yakiniku Hiro, the Tokochomachi Annex. We ordered the chef's recommended course, and all the meats were of A4.5 grade and incredibly delicious. The attention to detail in the cooking, from the broth to the dipping sauces, was impressive with no shortcuts taken. The staff's service was top-notch, allowing my wife and I to enjoy a happy time together. I would love to visit this specialty restaurant again when I come back to Kyoto next time.

Today we celebrated my wife's birthday with a BBQ dinner at Kyo Yakiniku Hiro Sakaimachi Bettei. The course was like a kaiseki meal with a variety of options besides BBQ. The meat was tender and juicy, with different ways to enjoy it. The finale of cold noodles was delicious, but my son's order of stone pot bibimbap was also tasty.

I visited Kyoyakiniku Hiro in Kyoto's Pontocho district! I've lost count of how many times I've been there, haha! When it comes to Kyoto's yakiniku, Hiro is the most famous and popular place. There are several branches in Kyoto. They have counter seats, table seats, and private rooms. Today, I ordered Yukke for 1160 yen, special kalbi for 2300 yen, upper mino for 1080 yen, wagyu upper harami for 1800 yen, seared sirloin for 1380 yen, and meat sushi. It's not a super high-end restaurant, but the quality of the meat is top-notch and very delicious! It's so popular that reservations are a must! I will definitely visit again! Thank you for the meal!

The interior of the restaurant was very clean, and the service was excellent. It was nice to be able to enjoy a meal in a private room. The drinks were delicious as well. All the meat dishes were tasty. We ordered a course menu, and the portion was just right, not too much.

I was searching on Google for a Kyoto-style dinner near Sanjo Station on the Keihan Main Line, and came across this place in the Pontocho area that seemed nice. I was a bit surprised that it matched my criteria so well. I managed to get the last private room by making a phone reservation. It's a slightly upscale yakiniku restaurant that is well-known in Kyoto. We had the Omakase Hiro course for 8000 yen each, and the atmosphere was great. I might have had a few too many highballs at 600 yen each. The course included: 1. Wagyu beef steamed with silver sauce 2. Assorted four kinds of appetizers 3. Wagyu beef with sea urchin on top 4. Special kimchi platter 5. Beef torch sushi 6. Grilled salted four kinds of meat 7. Ten kinds of colorful salad 8. Yakiniku (grilled sirloin, spicy Wagyu beef skirt, and horumon) 9. Choice of finishing dish (stone bibimbap, cold noodles, or oxtail soup with rice) 10. Today's omakase dessert. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the food was surprisingly delicious. It was a great experience dining on Kyoto-style yakiniku in a Kyoto-style building in the city. I recommend this place for when you want to have a memorable dining experience in Kyoto.

I was taken by my parents to this restaurant. I believe we had made a reservation for the "recommended Hiro" course. The private room was calm and had a sunken kotatsu table. The meat was all so delicious! From yukhoe, seared sushi, tongue, to Chateaubriand... all top-notch. I forgot to take photos, but in addition to these, there was another dish with a different cut of meat served. As someone who loves fatty and marbled meat, towards the end, the meat was so beautifully marbled that it felt a bit too much. The course was a great satisfaction for meat lovers. I thought I had had enough meat and my stomach was full, but afterwards, I kept thinking, "Ah, I want to eat Hiro's meat again...!" I want to eat it again! Thank you for the feast.

I visited for the first time after the renovation ♬ The building has a Kyoto-style design, and the interior makes you feel like you are visiting a temple in Kyoto. The sirloin and special selected kalbi just melt in your mouth ♬ The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, and the food is delicious ♬ The prices are not too high either! It's a great place to experience Kyoto without breaking the bank, perfect for inviting friends over ♬ Parking: Nearby coin parking.

A popular yakiniku restaurant that became No.1 in the fiercely competitive area of Kyoto. First, the Wagyu beef chawanmushi with miso sauce is delicious. The assorted appetizers, smoked beef tongue, red pepper flavored seared beef, rapeseed namul, and grilled agi with sansho pepper are all interestingly prepared. The raw tongue, sagari, and heart sashimi were fresh and tasty. The Wagyu tripe yukhoe was a unique and exciting dish. The seared meat sushi with marbled beef and the hand-rolled tuna and sea urchin were both delicious. The special kimchi platter with Chinese cabbage, Chinese yam, and salt-grilled cucumber was good. The thick-cut Wagyu tongue with lemon dashi was flavorful. The Chateaubriand steak with freshly grated wasabi and garlic chips was a great palate cleanser. The colorful salad with Hiro dressing was tasty. The sirloin steak with rich egg sauce was also delicious. The grilled Wagyu belly with freshly cooked rice was the perfect way to end the meal. The refreshing sudachi cold noodles and the dessert pudding were incredibly delicious. All of this for 10,000 yen including tax is amazing. The service was also excellent, with attention to detail that was top-notch.

☆彡When you open the wooden lattice door of the yakiniku restaurant, you can feel the unique atmosphere of Pontocho. The calm and traditional Kyoto ambiance welcomes you inside. Unlike the typical table seats, this time we reserved the counter seats to enjoy the monthly changing course menu. I had heard good reviews about the quality of the meat, so I was looking forward to it. Chef's Special "Yayoi Course" (¥10,000 including tax) - Appetizer: Wagyu Ponto-style Steamed Dish with Silver Bean Sauce - Side Dish: 4 varieties of Hiro's specialties - Sashimi: Fresh Wagyu sashimi of the day - Sushi: Hand-rolled sushi with lean meat and sea urchin, seared beef sushi - Delicacy: Hiro's special kimchi assortment - Grilled: Wagyu tongue and Chateaubriand steak - Palate Cleanser: Colorful salad with Hiro dressing - Hot Dish: Rib roast dashi shabu-shabu - Yakiniku: Sirloin steak with special egg - Finale: Setouchi lemon cold noodles - Dessert: Homemade maple pudding Each dish showcases the best quality of meat in various cooking styles such as raw, smoked, grilled, boiled, and seared. The skilled preparation and cutting techniques make the dining experience enjoyable. Only the best cuts of meat are served from the large pieces. The counter seats allow you to watch and enjoy the meat dishes being prepared. The highlight of the course is the Chateaubriand, known as the king of lean meat. The rare cooked meat melts in your mouth, offering a luxurious dining experience. The Rib Roast Dashi Shabu-Shabu is cooked in a lavish golden pot, enhancing the flavor of the high-quality meat and vegetables. Despite the marbled texture, the meat is light and does not cause indigestion. The meal ends with a satisfying serving of rice in a thick pot and refreshing lemon cold noodles. The delicious flavors and high-quality ingredients make this course a delightful experience. The professional chefs cooking in front of you at the Pontocho restaurant might give the impression of a high-priced course, but the use of top-notch ingredients at just ¥10,000 (including tax) is a great deal. The excellent service and cozy atmosphere left us completely satisfied. I look forward to visiting Pontocho again to enjoy this course. Check out my Instagram @ginjirou.star for more!

I have been to several locations of the famous restaurant Koji in Kyoto, including Sanjo, Shijo Takakura, and Gion, but this one stands out with its lovely atmosphere! It's a high-end yakiniku restaurant, perfect for a date. While all their locations are beautiful and recommended, this one in particular has a stunning ambiance that almost makes you feel like you're in a high-end Japanese restaurant. I can't remember exactly what we ordered, but everything was delicious. The bean sprout namul, tongue, bibimbap, and the incredibly tasty meats were all highlights! What impressed me the most was when the staff offered to take our coats. Yakiniku can leave your clothes smelling like meat, so having them take care of our coats was a nice touch. This is also one of the reasons why I highly recommend this place for a date.

Kyoto city is home to Kyoto Yakiniku Hiro Sakimachi Bettei, located in Sakaimachi Street, just beyond Sanjo. This yakiniku restaurant offers high-quality beef at affordable prices by purchasing whole cows. With 13 locations in Kyoto, this particular branch falls under the high-end category. Despite being in Sakaimachi, it is welcoming to all, with a spacious two-story interior seating 86 guests and featuring 10 private rooms. Personally, this restaurant holds nostalgic memories from about 10 years ago when I frequented it as a student. The restaurant underwent a major renovation last year, and while I preferred the old-fashioned atmosphere, the abundance of private rooms and the delicious meat remain unchanged. The highlights include the Chateaubriand (with sauce, 2,480 yen tax included) - thickly cut yet tender and easy to chew, allowing you to savor the allure of lean meat. The Upper Minos (with spicy sauce, 980 yen tax included) are delicious without any toughness or stringiness, easily chewed through. The raw Senmai (880 yen tax included) is light and tasty when paired with vinegar miso. The Kimchi Assortment (1,050 yen tax included) is particularly enjoyable, especially the Kakuteki, which is thick and sweet. The Cold Noodles (980 yen tax included) with dashi ice are perfectly chilled and make for a satisfying end to the meal. I made a reservation the day before and arrived at the opening time of 5 pm on a Thursday, finding the restaurant quiet and enjoying a smooth dining experience. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

On a regular Thursday at 6:00 PM, we arrived early for our reservation and started with some draft beer and kimchi while waiting for everyone. We ordered the "Omakase Pontocho Course" for ¥6000, not sure if tax is included or not. We had a great time chatting and enjoying the all-you-can-drink option. The course for ¥6000 was really good value. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Due to the impact of the coronavirus, I chose this restaurant where I can eat with peace of mind. The interior is very clean, with private rooms, and it's a yakiniku restaurant with good air conditioning. When we sat down, the staff brought a disinfectant spray, which made me feel reassured that the restaurant is taking proper precautions. The staff were all friendly and the service was excellent. I was expecting this place in Pontocho to be expensive, but the prices were actually quite reasonable, with draft beer at 600 yen and red wine at 800 yen. The meat was delicious, especially the kalbi. Taking into account the atmosphere, service, taste of the meat, and value for money, I think I will continue to visit this restaurant in the future!

I visited a famous yakiniku restaurant chain in Kyoto for the first time, located in Pontocho. The restaurant had a traditional townhouse exterior and a beautiful interior with a great atmosphere. We opted for the all-you-can-drink course as there were four of us. The flavor was slightly sweet, but still delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant was under construction for a while, but now it has expanded and connected to the neighboring building, becoming a large modern store. The interior now feels a bit too modern, creating a big contrast with the surrounding streets. Personally, I preferred the old, darker interior. The store was very crowded, and I was disappointed to find that the yukke was sold out, but the freshness of the raw beef liver and meat sushi was outstanding. Other meat dishes were also very delicious. The rice was especially tasty today. The quality of the Hiro Group is unquestionable, so if you want to eat meat in Kyoto, Hiro is the place to go. It was a bit disappointing that they forgot to bring the menu and wet towels, and the overall service speed was a bit slow, perhaps due to being too busy.

During my trip to Kyoto, I visited a famous restaurant recommended by my colleagues. The interior of the restaurant is cozy, with seats arranged next to the window. The meat served was thick and delicious, especially the menu where the meat is wrapped with leeks. The Kujyo leeks were not too spicy and easy to eat. The sauce turned into jelly was also delicious, and overall, I was very satisfied with the meal. I enjoyed every dish from start to finish. This is a must-visit yakiniku restaurant when in Kyoto.

One of the most popular yakiniku restaurants in Kyoto is Hiro. They prioritize their own standards over brand when sourcing their meat, which seems to be mainly marbled beef. They have a good eye for quality, as every cut of meat is delicious. The ultimate favorite is definitely the loin, but the misuji and thinly sliced kalbi are also tasty. While I don't usually order the kalbi, it pairs well with rice here. It's recommended to choose marbled meat over lean cuts at this restaurant. Additionally, it's affordable - a satisfying meal for three people costs around 21,000 yen.
