Riverbed Dinner Course B in Kyoto Our first experience of a riverbed dinner during our trip to Kyoto. The riverbed along the Kamogawa River is called "kawayuka." We made a reservation to celebrate my wife's birthday. Just an hour before our reservation, the heavy rain miraculously stopped, making the evening cool and pleasant. The food was incredibly delicious. We enjoyed unique Kyoto ingredients like yuba and conger eel. The staff at our table were attentive and we were grateful for that. The combination of great weather and delicious food made this dinner a memorable and satisfying experience. In case of bad weather, indoor seating is also available, so you can make a reservation with peace of mind. I highly recommend this experience for those who have never tried riverbed dining.

Today was a food tour in Kyoto! The main event of the day was a riverside dinner at "Luang Fujiwara Kamogawa Resort". I made a reservation two months in advance after seeing their stunning exterior on Instagram. The normal riverside dinner was 9,600 yen, while the front-row seat was only 500 yen more at 10,100 yen, so I opted for the front-row seat. The dinner had seatings at 6 pm and 8 pm, and I chose the 8 pm slot to avoid the heat in July. The restaurant had a beautiful view from the Kamogawa River, and I was looking forward to dining there. The restaurant had a lobby-like space where we waited before being seated at the riverside terrace. We enjoyed a beer while admiring the summer night view of the Kamogawa River. The course started with a beautifully presented salmon marinade, followed by a corn potage, eel tempura, apple and rosemary jelly, duck and seasonal vegetables roti, matcha cake with mango and passion fruit jelly, and coconut sorbet. Each dish was delicious, and the hospitality of the staff was excellent. We ended the meal with coffee while listening to the soothing sound of the river. I fulfilled my long-time wish to try riverside French cuisine in Kyoto! At Diner A, I enjoyed dishes like marinated fresh fish, chilled corn potage with Kyoto tofu and caviar, fried conger eel with tomato coulis, and grilled duck breast with seasonal Kyoto vegetables. The basil sauce on the conger eel was delicious, and the main duck breast dish was also tasty. I savored the dessert and left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. Dining outside by the Kamogawa River made the meal even more enjoyable. The unique combinations like salmon and pickled Japanese pepper, corn and tea, were surprisingly delightful. The staff's service was excellent and I look forward to dining at a riverside restaurant again in the future.

I have always wanted to visit Kawadoko for a long time. I went with 4 friends. It was crowded even though it was a weekday. The atmosphere was very nice. Lunch course included: [Appetizer] Marinated fresh fish, Kyoto tofu coolie [Soup] Cold corn potage [Main dish] Okutanba chicken and seasonal Kyoto vegetables [Dessert] Pineapple and lime pavlova. It might be tough to have lunch outside in this hot weather, so dining inside was a good choice.笑

I entered the restaurant around 7pm on Saturday or Sunday. I was served with delicious fish dishes like lobster with Américaine sauce and the main course of grilled Japanese black beef. These two dishes really impressed me. They were so tasty. I usually get tired of fatty meats, but at the end of the course, I was served with tender lean meat. It was amazing. The weather was perfect with no rain and no sun, which was great. The food was delicious. We had seats by the river with a beautiful view, and my friends who I invited were also pleased.

The food was delicious, but what really stood out was how friendly and lovely the president and other attendees were, even though I had just met them for the first time at lunch today. The weather was cool and pleasant, making it a truly meaningful time. Overall, I would rate this place highly for both the food and the ambiance.

I have used this restaurant for lunch several times. I made a reservation for a riverside seat. There are many families and children, and there is plenty of space, so you can relax without feeling uncomfortable, which is much appreciated. The staff are also very friendly and used to dealing with children. In the summer, there is shade from the sun, but the sun can be strong, so those concerned should take precautions such as sunscreen. When I went in late July last year, it was so hot that I thought I might get heat stroke.

The course included a champagne pairing with appetizers (beautifully decorated salmon), soup (chestnut and sweet potato), tempura (eel fritters), a refreshing grapefruit jelly, a main course of duck steak, dessert (pear, chestnut, and ice cream), bread, and coffee. The building had a quaint charm, but the stairs were old and very steep, so women should be careful with their shoes (there is an elevator available).
