I had some business to attend to in Kyoto on Monday, so I immediately revisited the restaurant with my friends. It seemed fine to visit without a reservation on weekdays! However, we got so caught up in chatting that we forgot to take photos... I'm sorry about that. This time, since it was a weekday, I was able to talk to the manager! I couldn't forget about the roast beef! - Sapporo Beer 500 yen (excluding tax): The draft beer at Minami is not recognized as a "perfect draft beer" unless it meets certain conditions, and this time it was delicious as always! - Roast beef made from specially selected beef that appears from the clouds: 1,580 yen (excluding tax). It was tender and flavorful, and the presentation was excellent. - Grated mountain yam with wishes: 380 yen (excluding tax). The crispy mountain yam was delicious and versatile as an ingredient. - Minami Salad: 750 yen (excluding tax). The slightly garlicky and spicy homemade sauce with shrimp and broccoli was a perfect match for the beer. The shrimp was especially delicious for me as a seafood lover. My friends also enjoyed the meal! The restaurant is very close to Kyoto Station, making it easily accessible for JR pass holders like me. It was delicious. I will visit again! Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant because it was close to Kyoto Station. Unfortunately, I couldn't try the fried dishes this time due to the restaurant's circumstances, but the food was delicious. The dashimaki tamago was served in a new style where you pour the broth over it later, which was enjoyable. It absorbed the broth well and was tasty. Personally, I really liked the tsukune. It had a strong meaty flavor. The takowasa is a huge portion for around 400 yen, so be careful if you're dining alone!笑

I visited for the second party on Saturday night. It was full, but we were able to drink on the terrace outside. The drinks and food were served promptly, and we even got a group photo at the end. Thank you for taking care of us. Next time, I would like to try eating slowly at the first party. (^_^)

The food is all typical of a casual izakaya. We had a 2-hour all-you-can-drink deal, but ordering individual items after the time limit ended added up to quite a bit. By around 7:30 pm, the restaurant got noisy and it was a bit hard to hear each other at the table due to the lively atmosphere.

Sashimi was delicious as usual, and the sudachi cold sake was sweet and easy to drink. The Korean-style grilled chicken was too rich in flavor and difficult to eat, and many people mistakenly thought the handwritten dish names hanging above were the menu, so be careful. The staff were all friendly and left a good impression.

Visited "Shokurakubeya Minami" located right outside the Hachijo exit of Kyoto Station. It is a longstanding popular izakaya with 70 years of history. We ordered a few dishes to go with our drinks, but we were mainly focused on drinking so we didn't take any photos. It cost around 3,000 yen per person. Thank you for the meal.

Located about a 3-minute walk from the Hachijo exit of Kyoto Station, on a side street next to the Shinmi Hotel, is the restaurant "Shokurakubeya Minami Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit Main Store". In late December, a friend and I visited the restaurant. The interior has a total of 66 seats, including table seats and private rooms. We were guided to a 4-person table seat. The customers that day seemed to be a group of people working nearby and the atmosphere was lively. We started with a "Perfect Black Label Draft Beer" (500 yen) for a toast! For food, we ordered "Yuba sashimi" (580 yen), "Dashimaki Tamago" (580 yen), "Eringi yam soy sauce grilled" (580 yen), "Soft bone tempura" (480 yen), and "Chicken tempura" (580 yen). The dishes were generous in portion and delicious, with a high cost performance. After finishing the beer, we were thinking about what to drink next when we found "All-you-can-drink Kyoto Sake for 1 hour". The types of sake included Furukoto, Miyakotsuru, Kyoto no Haru, and Jurakudai, which were self-served from a refrigerator near the entrance into a tokkuri. We ended up drinking a lot! We even extended the all-you-can-drink for another hour. It was a fun night where we could enjoy Japanese sake to our heart's content. Thank you for the meal.

I went on a business trip to Kyoto with 5 people and made a reservation in advance. We started with a toast with draft beer. Although we didn't take photos of all the dishes, there weren't many dishes that were specifically Kyoto-style. The staff were just like those at a regular izakaya, nothing special. We had a sashimi platter (only 3 types available that day) and the recommended egg omelette. We also enjoyed delicious salmon roe sushi rolls. I started drinking Chamisul alone halfway through the meal and ordered some cucumber to go with it. The staff were friendly and energetic.

My daughter made a reservation near Kyoto Station, and we arrived before 5 o'clock. The restaurant was quite crowded, but we were seated at a table. I remembered that my daughter had reserved a private room, so I showed the reservation email to the staff and we were able to move to a private room. The restaurant was a bit cramped and lacked proper measures for preventing droplet infection, so I was relieved to be in a private room. My husband, daughter, and I enjoyed some bottled beer to start, followed by yuba sashimi, toriten, and stir-fried greens. Everything was delicious, except for the burnt chijimi at the end. Overall, the prices were reasonable, so I would say it was a good experience!

I remembered that this place serves lunch around 1 pm on weekdays and decided to visit. I had been here once before after the lunch rush. It seemed like an izakaya with a casual "welcome" followed by "please take a seat at any available table." Although there were some customers, it didn't seem too busy. However, the male staff in the dining area hadn't cleared the empty tables. I ordered the sashimi set meal (780 yen), but while other customers who came in later received their daily specials and chicken karage set meals promptly, my sashimi set took forever to arrive. If this were a workday lunch, I would have run out of time! The sashimi itself was okay, but the side dishes? consisted of a few edamame beans and a tiny bit of burdock root, which was quite laughable. The miso soup was so thin that it only tasted like seaweed water. The guy at the cash register was efficient and polite, but I couldn't help but notice the slow service and the neglect of clearing tables by the male staff. It's a shame that they offer affordable lunches and allow smoking, yet the service doesn't match up to the potential of the place.

This is a popular izakaya near Kyoto Station. I decided to come here because I heard they offer all-you-can-drink sake for 1,000 yen. They have a variety of Kyoto sake available as well. For food, I ordered crispy dried young sardines and tofu watercress salad for 780 yen, rolled omelette for 580 yen, and a specialty pork intestine skewer for 80 yen each. They also served macaroni salad as a complimentary appetizer. The rolled omelette was made with dashi poured right in front of you, giving it a delightful aroma. It was light and flavorful. You can choose your sake from a selection of bottles and pour it into your own tokkuri. The salad consisted of tomatoes, watercress, tofu, and crispy dried young sardines. For sake, I tried the Sen-nen, Eikun, Gion Komachi, and Kimoo. The pork skewers were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a sweet sauce. I also ordered stir-fried garlic chives and bean sprouts for 580 yen, paired with a rare red rice sake called Ine Mankai, which had a sweet taste. I then tried Marutake Ebisu, a refreshing sake. The stir-fried garlic chives and bean sprouts were cooked in a rich sauce with garlic chives, bean sprouts, and meat. Lastly, I had Totsuru, which had a spicy start but a light finish.

I was looking for a restaurant nearby to have dinner, and many places were already closed by 9 pm. Luckily, I found this place that was still open. It was really convenient at this time of the year. I quickly finished my meal and left, but they served everything promptly, and I am grateful for that. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a traditional Japanese izakaya for lunch! The nostalgic Showa-era interior and exterior brought back memories - so calming! They have private rooms with doors, perfect for discussing work over lunch. It's reassuring for those worried about infection too! The one-coin lunch is popular, with a variety of options like daily special lunch, horse mackerel fry set, chicken karaage set, pork kimchi set, and fried rice set. I chose the horse mackerel fry - it arrived and it was huge! It even came with tartar sauce and regular sauce, which was a nice touch. The breading was crispy and the fish was fluffy! And all of this for just one coin... unbelievable! The side dishes of stir-fried cabbage and tofu and pickled ginger were also delicious. The pickled ginger portion was generous! This one-coin lunch is such a great deal! It's rare to find a one-coin lunch around Kyoto Station, so it's valuable! I left around 11:30 am on a weekday, and it was still not too crowded. If you go for an early lunch, you can enjoy your meal without worries. I'm curious about their dinner menu too!

On the last night of the Heisei era, I had a dinner and drinks party with friends in Kyoto. The location is convenient, just 3-4 minutes from Kyoto Station. The restaurant has been around since Showa 20, but the interior is clean and seems welcoming to women as well. We ordered the all-you-can-drink option and enjoyed dishes like pork kimchi, crispy potato fries, rolled omelette, and a sashimi platter. The drinks were served quickly and cold, which was great. The food was delicious overall, especially the pork kimchi with raw egg on top, which was very appetizing.

At 7:30 in the evening, two people arrived a little early for a meeting at a different shop, so they decided to have a quick drink here before heading out. This is a izakaya near Kyoto Station that serves deep-fried chicken, yakisoba, mozzarella cheese, and assorted deep-fried skewers with all-you-can-drink option. Surprisingly, it was crowded. The deep-fried mozzarella cheese had a delicious Japanese twist to it.
