Sushi!! The slices of fish were thick and delicious, and the seared sushi was amazing. Not only the sushi, but also the side dishes were tasty!! (The cheese chawanmushi was the best) The staff were all friendly and polite, and I will definitely come back because the food was delicious!

I visited this sushi restaurant located just a short walk from Sanjo late at night. It was around 9:00, but there was a long line outside the restaurant! What surprised me even more was that there were many foreign customers. Perhaps it's easy for tourists to get in. After waiting in line for a while, we were seated. The restaurant had both counter and tatami seating, with the counter surrounding the kitchen. The atmosphere inside was lively with the voices of the chefs. In addition to the classic sushi, there were also a variety of side dishes on the menu. This time, I tried the conger eel tempura and cheese chawanmushi. The conger eel tempura was light and went well with salt or dipping sauce. The cheese chawanmushi had a delicious blend of cheese and egg. The sushi was reasonably priced at 220 yen for two pieces, making it a perfect place to drop by casually. Thank you for the meal.

For about 10 years, I had been passing by this restaurant without much thought, but one day I decided to give it a try. I arrived on a Sunday night around 8:50 PM and had to wait for about 40 minutes after writing my name down. There were around 10 groups ahead of me, most of whom were foreigners. Once seated at the counter, I ordered the following: a 330 yen cover charge, a bottle of beer (Malt's) for 600 yen, and various sushi items including medium fatty tuna, eel, fugu sashimi, ark shell, red snapper, oyster, flounder, and salmon roe nigiri. There were four of us dining, and the staff were all energetic and polite, providing surprisingly pleasant service. However, the neighboring customers seemed to have some of their orders missing, so it's something to be cautious about. The medium fatty tuna was a bit small to fully appreciate. The eel was particularly delicious that day, and I ended up ordering it multiple times. The ark shell and sardine were also quite tasty. We enjoyed what we wanted to eat and drink for a total of 4000 yen for two people. Considering the quality of sushi in Pontocho, this price was quite reasonable. As others have mentioned, this place seems to cater to foreigners and students, but I would consider revisiting for the delicious eel.

Visited on a holiday night. When I arrived, there were about 7 groups waiting. I thought I would have to wait quite a bit, but somehow I was able to get seated quickly and entered in about 10 minutes. Sat at a table with 4 people. Ordered drinks and appetizers like "Assorted Tempura," "Shirako with Ponzu Sauce," and "Grilled Squid Legs." The shirako was not smelly, and the texture was firm and delicious. Then came the sushi. It's a conveyor belt sushi place, so you can enjoy a variety of items. The prices are cheap, but the quality is not bad at all. It was satisfyingly delicious. We also drank local sake and were very satisfied. It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The sushi was pretty good. The best was probably the sea bream. I think the cost performance is good. However, there were some items that we ordered but didn't arrive, and the management of plates was suspicious. I noticed it at the time and mentioned it, so it was okay, but it was a bit disappointing. We arrived around 4:45 and were able to enter around 6. Overall, I think it would be very good if there were no mistakes.

Kyoto. A sushi restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from Keihan Sanjo Station. When you order, they make it right in front of you ⭐︎ Easy to eat in one bite. Every dish is delicious. The tempura is crispy. The chawanmushi is filled with plenty of seafood. Akadashi soup. All have a comforting taste ♪ It seems like you can reserve a table for 4 people or more!

The sushi restaurant that doesn't have a conveyor belt charges 100 yen per piece, which may feel expensive for university students used to chain restaurants, but the quality of the sushi is definitely different. There is a wide variety of sake and sushi toppings, making it a recommended experience for foreigners wanting to try sushi in Kyoto. However, the sushi itself may not be as amazing as expected, so it's more of a sushi restaurant with a nice view and delicious sushi. Reservations are a must as we waited for an hour and a half. Service score 0.2.

Probably my fourth time going, the cost performance is really good and it's just the right size. The food is always delicious no matter when you go, and there's always a line. Even though the pandemic seems to be easing up, it's likely to become even more popular, but I still want to keep going. By the way, the complimentary starter is also delicious.

At the entrance of Pontocho, there was a sushi restaurant where many foreign visitors were enjoying themselves. The menu was extensive and all the sushi dishes were delicious, making it easy for me to drink a lot of alcohol. I was pleased that each order arrived quickly, as I am an impatient person. I would recommend this restaurant to those who want to eat delicious sushi at a good cost performance.

The restaurant is only open on weekends for lunch and always seems to have a line. This time, we were lucky and only had to wait a few groups before being seated. The staff were friendly and worked well together. Everything we ate was delicious, but the egg and eel dish was especially amazing! My friends and I were impressed. I would love to go back again. Thank you for the great meal.

Located a 5-minute walk from Keihan Sanjo Station, this restaurant is tucked away on the left side as you enter Pontocho. There is no parking available, and the restaurant is a bit hidden in a narrow passageway between buildings, so you might miss it. They offer sushi for 100 yen per piece (excluding tax), making it one of the more affordable options in Pontocho. The rule is to order in increments of 2 pieces, and there is a separate 330 yen cover charge. I visited this restaurant as my second stop of the night, and despite being told there was a one group wait over the phone, there were actually four groups ahead of me upon arrival. However, I was seated fairly quickly in the tatami room. The restaurant has counter seats, table seats, and tatami seats, with a decent amount of space. I ordered a drink and various sushi items such as tuna, medium fatty tuna, sea urchin, whale meat, crab, and blowfish sashimi. The taste was better than conveyor belt sushi but not quite as high-end as non-rotating sushi restaurants. It was a good choice for a second stop of the night, with a good cost-performance ratio. I spent a little over 2000 yen for myself and would definitely like to visit this restaurant again.

The reviews were good so I went, but the food was not good. The conger eel had no flavor and was dry. The bones were not cut properly, leaving large bones that could stick in your mouth. The seared salmon and medium fatty tuna were overcooked and lacked moisture. However, the service was good! It's cheap and you can watch them make sushi right in front of you, so it's like a place for college students to go instead of conveyor belt sushi. I think it's recommended for teenagers!

Before heading to the performance dedication at Heian Shrine, I was looking for a restaurant along the Kamo River to have lunch while strolling around. Unable to find the restaurant I had in mind, I decided to wait at this restaurant as it had good reviews. I don't remember the exact time, but I think it was around 12:30 pm. Even by 1:20 pm, my name was not called, so I patiently waited. Eventually, a staff member came out to explain to waiting customers that they would not be able to enter after 1:45 pm or 2:00 pm, I can't recall the exact time. I was surprised and a bit disappointed, but since I had already waited for so long, I decided to stay. Fortunately, I was able to enter the restaurant. The place was lively, and the sushi was delicious. However, because of the rule of entering before the break, I initially felt relaxed with many customers around, but as the number of customers decreased, I started to feel a bit rushed. This restaurant requires an early entry, so next time, I might try the other promising restaurant nearby.

Sushi restaurant where the chef prepares each piece for 100 yen, but it always comes in a set of 2 pieces. The rice portion is small and there is not much topping, making it easy to eat in one bite. Despite the affordable prices and the upscale location in Pontocho, the restaurant is always full. It's a great place for students to go on a date.

♡[Sushi Tatsu]♡ Kyoto❤️Sanjo♡After finishing our training with 4 colleagues, we went to have sushi at "Sushi Tatsu Pontocho Store" located near Sanjo Ohashi in Kyoto, along the Kamogawa River. The restaurant offers delicious Edomae nigiri sushi with fish directly sourced from Tsukiji Market in Tokyo. Despite being located in Pontocho, the prices are surprisingly reasonable and impressive. The sushi here is not conveyor belt sushi, but rather handcrafted by sushi chefs, with each piece costing 100 yen onwards (serving of 2 pieces per plate). Additionally, they offer a variety of seasonal recommendations, tempura, sashimi platters, and more on the menu. Please note that there is a cover charge of 330 yen per person. Depending on the seating, you may even have a view of the Kamogawa River (during our visit, a couple was seated there, what a great date spot). Since we were a group of 4, we were guided to a tatami room this time. The recommended items may change with the seasons, so it's best to order before they disappear from the menu. The sushi rice at Sushi Tatsu is small in size, making it easy to eat. After filling our stomachs, ordering drinks, the total cost per person is around 3000 yen, making it a good deal. Sushi Tatsu has branches in Kyoto's Pontocho and Osaka's Sumomachi in Shinsaibashi. Around 8:30 pm when we left, there was a line of customers waiting outside, so it might be better to make a reservation. It's a sushi restaurant that we want to keep a secret, but the food is really delicious and not too expensive, so we can't help but recommend it to everyone. Definitely give it a try!🍣

A sushi izakaya with a large window along the Kamo River in Pontocho. They offer a course menu with all-you-can-drink on weekdays for only 2,980 yen, which is incredibly cost-effective. The dishes in the course are decent, incorporating seasonal ingredients. The seating options include counter seats, sunken kotatsu-style seating, and a couple of uncomfortable 2-person tables by the window. While they don't officially take seat requests for the sunken kotatsu seating, if you make a reservation in advance, they may seat you by the window with a view of the Kamo River. They are strict about glass refills and the time limit for the all-you-can-drink, but at such a low price, it's not a big issue. Overall, it's a budget-friendly izakaya, especially if you get a window seat.

I stopped by to have an early dinner before returning to Nagoya. The place is located in Pontocho, just south of Sanjo Keihan Station, after crossing the Kamo River. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere overlooking the river. I ordered various dishes and the sushi was all delicious for the price, but what stood out the most was the recommended seared wagyu beef. It was thick, tender, juicy, and absolutely amazing. The fatty salmon was also delicious. With its great location and reasonable prices, I think this place can be used for various occasions.

The interior of the restaurant feels more like a traditional Japanese eatery rather than a sushi restaurant. There are both counter and tatami seating available. The place is quite lively and there may be a wait. It's not overly formal like a high-end sushi restaurant, nor does it have the fast-food feel of a conveyor belt sushi place. Every type of sushi we ordered tasted fresh and delicious. My friend and I enjoyed trying a variety of dishes, but the sea urchin was a standout recommendation. We indulged in a plate full of sea urchin. Despite ordering a lot, the bill was reasonable. This is a place where you can truly savor delicious sushi to the fullest.

"Located in Pontocho, 'Sushitetsu Pontocho' is a popular restaurant where you can enjoy Edo-style nigiri sushi made by skilled chefs at a reasonable price. With a view of Sanjo Ohashi, the sushi served right in front of you is exceptional, and each piece costs only 100 yen. It's just a 5-minute walk from Sanjo Station, so it's easily accessible."

I felt like eating sushi in Pontocho, so I visited a restaurant with a sign that read "Sushi hand-rolled by chefs, all items for 100 yen each." The entrance to the restaurant was tucked away, and as I entered further inside, I saw a long line of about 10 groups of people waiting. I hesitated about whether to give up or wait, but decided to pass the time somewhere nearby. After about an hour, I finally got a seat. The restaurant had a bright and clean interior with a L-shaped counter with 15 seats, four 4-person tables, and one 2-person table. The menu not only included sushi but also a variety of side dishes such as pickles, steamed dishes, tempura, fried dishes, and grilled dishes, all reasonably priced. Although the sushi was advertised as 100 yen per piece, in reality, each piece was served as a set for 220 yen including tax. Even premium items like sea urchin, salmon roe, and medium fatty tuna were offered at the same price, making it a great value for me personally. There are various types of sushi restaurants out there, but this one seems to have found the perfect balance. I think it's a restaurant worth making a reservation for, and I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.
