I visited in the evening, so there was only a little cake left. The indoor seating was full, but there was space on the terrace. It was cool and comfortable. I had a handkerchief and a tea sachet melange, both delicious. My friend had the sachet melange and the Tanzania cake, which she said were delicious.

I stopped by before going to the Museum of Modern Art at 1:30 on Sunday. There was a 2-group wait for eating in, with seats opening up one after another. I was able to place a takeout order in between. I took home a handkerchief with mustard/cheese, croissant, and pretzel. The cashier seemed busy and a bit rushed, but the male chef who came out to help from the kitchen was friendly and had a nice smile. They wrapped the pastries in paper on a sturdy tray, so they didn't get squished on the way home. I forgot to take pictures of the individual pastries because I ended up eating them.

I received a cookie tin as a gift. It has become a popular item that is hard to buy for about two years. I received it from a friend! Last time I visited, I bought bread and savory cookies, so this is my first time trying the classic cookie tin. There were cookies with jam in them, ones similar to Baci di Dama, and classic crescent-shaped ones... all had a simple taste that made you feel the nostalgia of the past. Everything was elegantly crafted. Thank you for the meal!

Hapsburg Bakery, located in front of the Okazaki Canal with a garden terrace, is a supplier to the royal family and its name originates from the king's bakery. The traditional pastries and breads made since the 16th century feel like you can see the scenery when you eat them. The Sachertorte, in particular, was excellent!

I was talking to my friend in Kyoto about how delicious Preller is here. By chance, we passed by the store and went in. They had cute pastries shaped like bread, and I couldn't help but exclaim "So cute!" Inside, we had a croissant for 350 yen, a rhubarb danish for 360 yen, and an iced coffee for 520 yen. My friend got a cake and an iced coffee to go. We also bought some items to take home: a Preller for 250 yen, a Hand Kaiser Cheese for 240 yen, and a Roggen Volkorn for 600 yen. Everything was delicious!

I arrived at the store around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. There were about 8 seats inside and some outside, but it was cold that day so I chose to eat inside. After getting a seat, I asked the staff to pick out the bread from the case for me. Besides bread, they also sold sandwiches, cakes, cookies, and jams (marmalade?). This time, I had two types of bread! Especially, the duck sandwich was absolutely delicious. It looked like a croissant but had a substantial texture, not light like a croissant. The smoky flavor of the duck was also present and I was very satisfied. I was hungry that day so I also had a hand kaiser bread! I bought cheese, sesame, and plain flavors, but the cheese was the best. The sesame one had sesame seeds falling off a bit, which felt a bit wasteful. I ordered coffee with my meal, but it was a light roast coffee with a strong acidity. After the meal, I had a piece of cake. I love cheesecake, so I chose the cheesecake here and it was also fantastic. It melted in my mouth and was rich and delicious. I finished it in no time, I wanted to have a whole one. If you like cheesecake, definitely try it out.

This is the oldest bakery in the ancient city of Graz, founded in the 16th century in Austria. It is said to have been the bakery of the Habsburg family, continuously offering bread to the royal court. A chef who was personally taught the secret techniques and recipes by Mr. Roberto Ediger is now in Japan. The store is located a little south along the river from the Hosomi Art Museum on Nijo Street, which continues from Heian Jingu Shrine. It is on the first floor of a small luxury apartment-like building. There is a small garden space at the entrance, with terrace seats and indoor seats available for dining in, but the main focus is on bread and pastries. The cherry tree outside creates a very nice atmosphere. It was surprisingly small inside, with a calm atmosphere dominated by black. I went in the afternoon, so it was no longer just a bakery. There were a few sweets and baked goods available. Since I wasn't planning to go back for a while, I didn't buy any fresh sweets, but I bought some baked goods. The cookies with fragrant nuts had a nice salty taste, and those with black sesame and pumpkin seeds were quite delicious. Austria also has a lot of German-style bread, so there are many breads with a crispy, pretzel-like taste. I couldn't get any bread this time, so I would like to try getting some bread next time.

<October 2022> - Walnut Bread 1/2 486 yen: This bread is described as "rye sourdough and whole wheat flour dough with walnuts, honey, and cinnamon." It looked soft for a German bread (my husband and daughter who don't like German bread might find it easy to eat), and I thought it might be easy to eat with its sourness. In reality, it was still quite hard, but I found the texture relatively easy to eat. It was quite heavy, probably due to its high moisture content. The dense dough was filled with plenty of walnuts, and as expected, it had a nice sourness. The sweetness from the honey and the bitterness (spiciness) from the cinnamon were also subtly present, and I really liked it. I would like to buy it again. - Choco Danish 410 yen: Croissant dough with chocolate. It's a bread that can't be bad. I bought two, one for my husband and one for myself. Whether toasted or microwaved, it didn't have the crispy texture of a croissant. This is probably because the layers of the croissant are numerous and there is a lot of butter. It was moist. The chocolate was very delicious, rich and flavorful. It was a bread where the sweet dough and chocolate were complemented by the pistachios. <February 2023> - Sachertorte 735 yen: A very beautiful round Sachertorte with a thin chocolate with the store name logo in the center, filled with apricot jam. It comes with whipped cream. The apricot jam is a very subtle amount. But thanks to this little bit of apricot jam, the heaviness of the chocolate is mitigated. And because the amount is not large, you can fully enjoy the richness of the chocolate. - Käsetorte 594 yen: On top of the baked cheesecake are strawberries, cranberries, and blueberries. My husband and daughter ate it, but my daughter really liked this cake, and she ate more than my husband expected, so my husband was in a bad mood. Therefore, I couldn't hear my husband's feedback, but according to my daughter, she said, "It was really delicious!" - Pretzel 270 yen - Cheese Pretzel 324 yen - Kipferl 281 yen: Repurchase. The content is as described in the first review. This time, my daughter ate a Kipferl in one go.

One of the purposes of this Kyoto trip was to visit this shop. I had the chef's bread, cakes, and cookies after a long time, and they were delicious as always. When I visited in the evening, most of the cakes were already sold out. I will definitely visit again when I come to Kyoto.

The bread like a bombolone is not fried... I think I prefer bombolone. It is a bread with apricot jam inside. The deer pate and Kaiser sandwich were also delicious! My stomach is satisfied. The chocolate croissant also has a reliable taste. It is a good cafe where you can relax.

When I visited the Kyocera Museum, I decided to stop by a nearby delicious restaurant for some shopping. I got the following items for takeout: Hand Kaiser (220 yen), Pretzel (250 yen), Cheese Danish (360 yen), Chestnut Jam (980 yen), and a small paper bag (80 yen). The total came to 2042 yen. I wasn't expecting much, but the Cheese Danish was amazing! The visual appearance and the acidity of the cheese were perfect. I didn't try the other items that day, but the Chestnut Jam was also elegant. At home, spreading this on delicious toast with coffee is pure bliss. I will definitely buy it again when I go back.

I missed the time for sightseeing in Kyoto and lunch, so I decided to walk around while nibbling on bread. I suddenly felt like having German bread. I like German bread. Not the fancy, mixed, or decorated kind, but the kind that allows you to taste the ingredients. I searched for "German bread" and found a shop. When I arrived at the shop, it looked like a small luxurious estate, with a well-planned window and parking lot. I was in the mood for cheese, so I ordered a "Cheese Pretzel (324 yen)". They also had cakes and wine. Suddenly, I felt like drinking wine, so to resist that urge, I asked for "100% organic grape juice" (660 yen). The Cheese Pretzel was crispy and fragrant, with a simple taste that leaves a lingering cheese aroma, probably a bread that goes well with wine. Overall, the prices were on the higher side, with cakes costing around 600-800 yen each. I think it's more fitting to enjoy it in this location near Okazaki Park rather than eating it as a takeout. It has a certain elegance and celebrity-like charm. Despite having 4-5 staff members, they seemed busy with the many customers. This place seems like one where both customers and staff would prefer to take it slow rather than being rushed. Upon later research, I found out that "Hofbekkarei" means a bakery in a mansion with a courtyard.

I went to the Kyocera Museum and wanted to use the cafe, but it was full so I got takeout instead. The sandwiches were already sold out. I bought a croissant and a cheese hand kaiser. The croissant was slightly sweet and delicious. The hand kaiser was a bread that was crispy on the outside and had a slightly bagel-like weight to it. It seemed like it would be good with something in between... like cheese, ham, or smoked salmon. I chose the one with cheese on top, but on its own, it felt a bit lacking. If the sandwiches were sold out, maybe they could cut up some hand kaiser and make a sandwich out of it... that thought crossed my mind. If the cafe is busy, getting takeout and having a picnic in Okazaki Park is also a nice idea.

I had a light meal inside the calm atmosphere because it was hot outside. I had a sandwich with prosciutto and cheese croissant, a cream-filled cheese Danish, and a fruit tea called Bouquet Royal. I also bought a Kuglof and a pastry called Mohnbeigel with poppy seeds to take home. The Kuglof was not too sweet and I really liked it.

All the staff members were lovely and all the dishes were truly delicious. I had a sandwich and a pie-like dessert with raspberry cream. The sandwich had fresh and crunchy vegetables, and the fish was easy to eat without any fishy taste. The bread was also very tasty, not too soft or too hard, perfect for the sandwich. The raspberry cream pie had a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness from the raspberries, and the chocolate topping was just right, not too sweet. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I visited the cafe with the intention of eating cake after lunch. It had been a while since I last visited a cafe, almost 1 year and 9 months since I last bought a cake, and it was my first time eating in. As I looked around the store, I found an available seat and decided to enter. I couldn't decide on a cake as they all looked delicious. The "Maria Theresa" cake I had 1 year and 9 months ago looked completely different. It seems that the fruits and presentation change depending on the season. I was torn between the classic Sachertorte, a summer cake, and the limited edition cakes and parfaits for eating in, but this time I chose the "Wild Strawberry Schnitten". It cost 702 yen for takeout and 715 yen for eating in. It had an almond base with the acidity of wild strawberries and the sweetness of chocolate as accents. It was delicious, but I finished it quite quickly and thought, "I want another one." You choose your drink after being seated. There are several options like coffee, tea, juices, etc. I hesitated but decided not to order one this time. Whichever cake and drink you choose, it will definitely cost over 1000 yen. I believe the prices for cakes have increased compared to 1 year and 9 months ago, starting at least in the 600 yen range. The same goes for bread.

I really like the bread here (even though it was almost sold out early in the afternoon this time). I had a banana and ganache cake with coffee. The cakes here have a refined sweetness, similar to the ones I had in Vienna. I actually prefer the banana cake over the Sachertorte. I want to try more cakes here in the future. The cookies here are also delicious, especially the pretzel-like ones with jam in the middle. The marzipan cookies with hazelnuts were also good. Additional note: The chestnut tart had a lot of chestnuts in it, but the tart crust was a bit too bland. Maybe the Mont Blanc would be better.

The chef trained at a long-established bakery founded in 16th century Austria, which was a purveyor to the Habsburg family. He was personally taught secret recipes and techniques there. You can enjoy authentic German and Austrian bread. The interior is not like a palace on Nakanoshima, but has a slightly casual atmosphere. Pretzel for 270 yen is a dry bread. The rock salt is a nice touch. Hand Kaiser for 238 yen is a signature item. The distinctive lines are often made by machine, but this one is done by hand, hence the name "Hand." It's not as hard as you might think. The smoky aroma of the Kaiser is good. The Zaltz Stanger for 238 yen is a long, stick-like bread. It's also a dry bread, but has a nice saltiness and flavor as you chew. The Kugelhopf for 540 yen was a favorite of Marie Antoinette. It contains walnuts, raisins, and orange peel mixed into the dough. It's the only soft bread in this selection. It's a solid bread as per the original recipe, with a strong salty flavor, making it a good accompaniment to beer.

I really love the bread here. The croissant sandwich with salami is quite voluminous but light enough to eat quickly. It has plenty of vegetables and a good texture, making it easy to eat. The nectar drink was also delicious. I'll come back next time to try the sweet bread.

I heard that the bread was delicious, so I visited the shop. It was a holiday, so the cafe inside was full. There was a line of people buying bread and sweets, so I couldn't take any pictures inside the shop, but it was a lovely place! I bought German bread and cookies. I also bought a cookie tin as a souvenir for my friend, but the cookie tin became hard to find afterwards... Both the bread and cookies were very delicious. I would like to buy a lot more next time if possible.
