However, despite knowing this, when I see the word "asari" (clams), I can't help but order it. Yes, I love seafood ramen. After finishing a job near the World Heritage Site [Shimogamo Shrine], I moved to Osaka city. But since I was in Kyoto, I decided to leave my mark by having lunch. Even on a weekday, there were still a lot of tourists around, both local and foreign. However, this area along the Kamogawa River is not in the center, nor is it as famous as Kiyomizu-dera or Kinkaku-ji. It's a hidden gem. There is a restaurant along Imadegawa Street that seems to have been renovated from an old Japanese house. Upon entering, there is a shoe storage area to the right, where you can leave your shoes before moving to the dining area. Wow! There are tatami rooms on both sides. The layout of the 4-person and 2-person tables is gently arranged, more like "chabudai" (low dining table). The menu includes: - Hormone Ramen - Asari Ramen - Curry Ramen, all priced at 740 yen - Cold Shabu Tan Tan Men: 850 yen There are options to add fried chicken, rice, or a set combining them. I added rice (110 yen) even though it wasn't necessary. The Asari Ramen had quite a lot of clams in it, as expected. The soup was salt-based with a moderate amount of oil and richness from chicken bone broth and chicken fat. It was surprisingly spicy, thanks to the chili pepper. I noticed there was also "extra capsaicin" liquid on the table. The thin straight noodles had a chewy texture, and the simple toppings of green onions and seaweed complemented the ramen well. The owner of the restaurant had a gentle demeanor, typical of someone from Kyoto. I won't have dinner here, but I might come back for lunch. If I do, I'll probably try the Hormone Ramen. Ordered the chef's choice and got to enjoy various cuts at a reasonable price. Ate so much and the total came to 6900 yen including tax. Delicious food, got quite tipsy, and wallet-friendly!

Visited on April 25, 2023, Tuesday, a little after 12 PM. There were two customers already seated. I had noticed the sign saying "ramen" before and was curious. The interior of the restaurant gave off a vibe that it might be a hotpot place at night. I ordered the lunch set, specifically the Hormone Ramen. It arrived in just a few minutes, with a creamy white soup that seemed to be based on beef. The cabbage and hormone with plenty of beef fat were rich and delicious. The soup was slightly sweet, so I added some chili pepper from the table to adjust the flavor. It turned out to be even more delicious than I expected.

We had the white miso hot pot for 2 people for 1,750 yen each, which totaled 3,500 yen. The chicken Karaage was 600 yen and it was the best I've ever had! We also tried the assorted pork offal grill for 1,000 yen and the sweet potato shochu highball set for 850 yen. The pork offal grill was amazing, it was my first time trying it and it was so delicious! We mainly focused on grilling and eating the offal, and it was so much fun. They also accept PayPay.

Motsunabe Hormone with plenty of vegetables and crispy fried chicken are so delicious! Once you try them, you won't be able to eat other fried chicken anymore! The texture is crunchy and satisfying. The shochu with water set is also great. Motsunabe is tasty, but it can be heavy on the stomach, so be careful with small children. The abundance of vegetables is a plus. The restaurant is in a renovated old Japanese house, giving off a Kyoto vibe. The small Japanese garden is well-maintained. There is no parking lot, so you have to use a nearby coin parking.

I wanted to eat motsunabe at a random shop, but I couldn't eat much, so I ordered some side dishes. I had a platter of horse sashimi, a mix of three delicacies, chanja, mentaiko, salted firefly squid, red tempura, and four types of craft beer including a Hyuganatsu beer. For dessert, we had ramen. We added it to the hot pot, waited a bit, and then had it served to us. As mentioned in other reviews, it was really tasty.
