Whenever I go on a business trip to Kyoto, I always make sure to visit this restaurant. The seafood dishes are truly delicious! If you're looking to splurge in Kyoto, this is the place to go. I recommend the sashimi, fried dishes, simmered dishes, and rice cooked in a pot (basically everything). There is only one table seat, the rest are counter seats, so if you want a table, it's best to make a reservation before going.

I revisited this restaurant after two years since my last visit. I had sashimi, tempura, grilled fish, and a seasonal dish. I could taste the natural aroma and sweetness of the ingredients. The grilled Pacific saury was exceptional, and the rolled golden eye snapper at the end was also delicious. This place is a top-notch restaurant. It seems to have many regular customers, so I recommend arriving early or making a reservation.

I just started coming here, but I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. I think it's because the other customers around were all nice. Every time I come to a place like this, I start thinking about bringing my own chopsticks and handkerchief for Japanese dining etiquette.

The sashimi was so good that we ended up ordering additional seabass and cured mackerel. They were served with plenty of fat and large pieces of meat, and were very delicious. The small dishes also have a gentle taste and can be enjoyed in various ways. Especially the dishes with vegetables have a flavor that does not lose to the alcohol, and you can feel the original taste. The fried food was also delicious, with crispy tempura that was refreshing to eat. The selection of sake to go with the food was also carefully chosen and easy to drink. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and the content was well-balanced and enjoyable.

Located quietly at the foot of the bridge on Kawabata Street in Kitayama (on the first floor of a building), this restaurant has about 10 counter seats as the main seating option, with an additional table seating area for four people in the back. The table seating area is somewhat separated by walls, giving a bit of a sense of isolation, but it can be nice for group use, almost like a private room. However, people occasionally come and go to the restroom located at the back, so it's not a completely private space. The standout feature of the food here is the fresh seafood from Wakasa. You can enjoy sashimi, grilled fish, simmered fish, sushi, and more. The seasonal vegetables and mountain vegetables in the side dishes or tempura are also delicious. It's reasonably priced. The customers all greet each other, creating a vibe of regulars coming by every night. But I think newcomers can quickly feel at ease as well. I even shared dishes with the person next to me. The background music is 70s enka songs. It's a nostalgic feeling restaurant.
