On Sunday around 9 pm, we waited for about 30 minutes before we could enter the restaurant. It was quite a challenge to find a restaurant in Kyoto - I recommend making a reservation if you have plans. We were seated at a counter for two, but it was quite hot due to the poor air conditioning. The other tables seemed fine, so it might depend on the seating area. We ordered okonomiyaki, yakisoba, negiyaki, pork kimchi, tako wasa, and Kyoto vegetable gyoza. The okonomiyaki was the most delicious. The yakisoba was a bit bland, so we added some sauce to season it! With two drinks each, the total bill for two people was a little over 6000 yen, which I think is a reasonable price.

If you go early, you can get in without waiting. It hasn't changed since the old days. That's why it's reliable. Recently, there are a lot of foreign visitors, but it's reassuring that things haven't changed. Plus, they serve drinks really quickly. And the orders like tonpei and pork kimchi come out without much of a wait. You can drop by and have a quick meal. Important. Thanks to that, I was able to get back without missing my Shinkansen.

I went to DONGURI after a long time. My friend and I had the Negi Suji Yaki and Okonomiyaki with pork. The Negi Suji Yaki is thinly grilled with plenty of green onions and well-cooked lean meat, making it a great snack to enjoy with beer. The pork in the Okonomiyaki was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with the addition of yam making it very delicious. I was very satisfied with this chain restaurant.

Chain restaurants can sometimes be hit or miss, but the Kyoto Station Front location is very convenient and cost-effective. You can make online reservations 24 hours a day through a certain gourmet app, and there are plenty of private rooms in the basement. The private rooms are quite spacious and the atmosphere is not bad. In addition to okonomiyaki, there are many other menu options available. Being located in front of Kyoto Station, it is very useful when friends or acquaintances from overseas visit. The prices are reasonable since it is a chain restaurant, and I think there are no bad choices no matter what you order. On this day, we ate and drank with 8 people and it cost around 30,000 yen. I really like the lotus root and shrimp dish! Lol

I visited around 6:00 pm on a holiday. I didn't have a reservation, but luckily a private room was available. The first floor seats were a bit noisy, so the private rooms downstairs were convenient for those who wanted to eat slowly. I have used this place several times, and it is convenient for families looking for okonomiyaki near Kyoto Station, as they have private rooms and the food is delicious. All dishes are brought to you after they are cooked, so it is not a system where you cook everything yourself from the beginning.

The restaurant does not answer the phone until 5:00 PM, but we made a reservation for two people from a certain gourmet website that allows 24-hour online booking, and visited at 7:00 PM on the same day. Even on weekdays, if you don't make a reservation, you will have to wait in line for quite a while. When we arrived, there were about 15 people waiting. We were seated in a private room in the basement. Although you can hear the voices from the next room, it was a decent private room with not too bright lighting. We ordered 7 draft beers, okonomiyaki (pork), negiyaki (green onion pancake), pork kimchi, cucumber appetizer, and octopus with wasabi, which cost around 7,500 yen. The seats are strictly limited to 2 hours. Before the pandemic, I used to go to Donguri a lot, but I really like the soft texture of the okonomiyaki and the pork kimchi looks visually appealing with a half-cooked egg on top! The portions are small though. The negiyaki tends to burn easily and doesn't taste as good when it gets cold, so I might not order it next time... Thank you for the meal!

[Impression] The okonomiyaki was decent, especially with the spicy sauce. The yakisoba was a bit dry. Surprisingly, the best dish was the yakisoba, which was delicious! When eaten without sauce, it was a 3.6, but when sauce was added, the taste changed... Overall, the yakisoba was the highlight of the meal. Thank you for the meal!

I had heard about Kyoto-style okonomiyaki and was eager to try it. The menu was extensive, offering items such as negiyaki, okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and other dishes cooked on a hot plate. The staff cooked the food and brought it to our table, which made the experience enjoyable. The okonomiyaki had finely chopped ingredients and was fluffy and delicious. They also provided both sweet and spicy sauces, allowing customers to choose according to their preference.

The atmosphere is lively and bright! The staff are friendly and easy to talk to. The okonomiyaki has a crispy surface and a fluffy inside, it might be the most delicious one I've ever had! Other grilled dishes were also fresh and tasty. The closing ochazuke was even more delicious! Thank you for the wonderful meal! ✨✨

I was in a hurry and didn't have much time. I was eating while keeping an eye on the Shinkansen schedule, but I couldn't finish my meal. When I asked the staff if I could take it to go, they kindly wrapped it up for me! The staff member with black-framed glasses was very friendly and made my dining experience enjoyable. The negiyaki (green onion pancake) was incredibly delicious! I was surprised by how tasty it was. If I go to Kyoto again, I definitely want to visit this restaurant!

Today, I visited the Donguri Kyoto Ekimae store for a casual drink after a meeting. The location was crowded with tourists, especially foreigners. We arrived around 6 o'clock and were seated right away since it wasn't too busy yet, which was lucky. We ordered yakisoba with a fried egg on top, tonpei-yaki, negi-yaki, and stir-fried gizzard. We also had a couple of drinks before heading home.

I ordered okonomiyaki and chicken gizzard. Due to the Rugby World Cup, there were many foreign tourists even on weekdays. When I got off at Kyoto Station, I wandered around the shops while soaking in the exotic atmosphere. Donguri faces a main street and attracts many customers. Since it was a weekday, all the shops were short-staffed. The okonomiyaki came burnt, so I gave a lower rating. I would like to come back again and reassess.

Don Guri Kyoto Station Front Store -------------------------------------------------- A reasonably priced restaurant in front of Kyoto Station specializing in okonomiyaki and yakisoba. There are many partitions, so you can enjoy your meal in a private room. Orders are placed using a touch panel system, so there is no need to stress about staff not understanding your order. With an average customer spend of around 2000 yen, it may be easier to just use the touch panel without expecting high service standards. The food, including okonomiyaki and yakisoba, as well as other menu items, is of relatively high quality. In particular, the Ebi Renkon Gyuugyuu Yaki, where shrimp paste is stuffed into lotus root holes, is delicious and addictive. Overall, it's worth visiting if the timing is right.

Located in front of JR Kyoto Station in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, I stopped by "Yamamoto Manbo," a okonomiyaki restaurant near Dormy Inn. It was late, so the restaurant was not crowded, and the atmosphere and service were great. We started with ordering a draft beer, tomato salad, beef tendon balls, and later added a lemon sour. It was a nice and relaxing experience.

I found this place in the middle of the night where I could eat a hearty meal. I ordered yakisoba and mixed okonomiyaki. The taste was simple but delicious. It was cheap and tasty, considering it's located near the station. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious. I was grateful that it wasn't just convenience store food.

After playing in Kyoto, let's eat okonomiyaki on the way back (☝︎ ՞ਊ ՞)☝︎ Counter seat. Oh, ordering is done with a tablet here. I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants that use tablet ordering, but I guess it's efficient for the restaurant. I had Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki with soba inside, negiyaki, grilled salted Kujyo squid, grilled yam, and a cucumber platter. Everything was delicious. I lived in Hiroshima for a long time, so I love Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki with soba. Of course, I also love Kansai-style okonomiyaki. As I was leaving, there were customers waiting in line. The restaurant is clean and the food is delicious, so I think it's a popular spot. Thank you for the meal~

Check-in was done, and I wanted to have a quick drink, but due to my family's stomach condition, we ended up going to Donguri-san's restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is filled with the fragrant smell of sauce. The smell sticks to your whole body (^-^) We left the solid food order up to the chef and focused on the liquid menu, having a great time (^-^) Our orders were:
- Yuzu-flavored sweet potato strips
- Negiyaki with beef tendon
- Pork belly and Kujo green onion stir-fry with sansho pepper
- Potato fries
- Sand liver garlic
For drinks, we had:
- Okinawa Passion
- And then, I hadn't had shochu yet, but based on the appetizers, I chose a refreshing accompaniment. The Okinawa Passion was a sour drink made with shikwasa, cassis, and grapefruit, perfect for citrus lovers. I had a refill, opting for barley this time. It was lighter and more refreshing compared to sweet potato, a good choice with the food. The negiyaki had both regular and spicy sauce, and at my daughter's request, we used the spicy sauce. Looking back at the photos later, I realized my haphazard way of applying the sauce (laughs). All the dishes were delicious and had a rich flavor, making the alcohol go down smoothly. The stir-fry with sansho pepper was new and perfect for me, a spice lover. I wanted to have sweet potato as a finale, but I had to give up due to the warning of drinking too much... I didn't reach a full tank... Thank you for the meal (^-^) When we stepped outside, the snow had stopped, and the crisp cold air felt nice.

In Kyoto, if you want a place with slightly filling food to go bar hopping, then okonomiyaki is the way to go. There are many okonomiyaki restaurants in Kyoto, including the chain store called Donguri. They mainly serve Asahi beer. I wonder if there are a lot of them in Kyoto? Anyway, it's nice to have options. I ordered yakisoba, one dish, okonomiyaki, and negiyaki. Since it's Kyoto, there are quite a few foreign customers as well. I wonder how people from Europe and America eat it. It was good and consistent. As for the sauce, there are many types in Kansai, so it's hard to say. Kyoto is a place I want to explore more next time I visit.

Today, I had a New Year's party with my friends from college in front of Kyoto Station. For the third round, we said goodbye to the ladies and went to eat okonomiyaki with just the guys.
DONGURI is a restaurant facing Karasuma Street in front of Kyoto Station. There are several branches in Kyoto city, and it's a casual okonomiyaki restaurant where you can easily walk in. We started with a toast with beer! Since we ate quite a bit during the first round, we ordered a little less this time, treating the beer as a snack.
We ordered and shared the following dishes:
- Curry stir-fried sausage and onions
- Okonomiyaki with plenty of green onions and spicy Michan sauce
The okonomiyaki was fluffy and delicious, and the spicy sauce added a nice touch. It went well with the beer. We had a relaxing time to end the drinking party.
