On April 13, 2023, Thursday, at 6:42 PM, I entered the store. Today, I felt like having some delicious ramen from this place after visiting Grill Kobo! I ordered the Jumbo ramen for 850 yen, which was packed with plenty of chashu, double the noodles, and lots of bean sprouts and green onions. After having Chicken Teriyaki and curry rice at Grill Kobo!, it was quite a challenge, but the ramen at Daiichi Asahi is always delicious whenever I go. Ramen and Daiichi Asahi seem to go hand in hand in my mind. Thank you for the truly delicious ramen today. Thank you, Atsushi Hamamura. Thank you for reading my silly review until the end. On March 16, 2023, Thursday, at 6:56 PM, I entered the store. Today, after visiting Grill Kobo-san, I bought three cakes at a cake shop and came to this store. Last time I visited, I had a mini ramen, so today I had a slightly larger size special ramen. The special ramen costs 700 yen including tax, and I will enjoy the delicious ramen from Daiichi Asahi. I took a lot of photos inside the store, so the first few are full of interior photos, but the last four are photos of the ramen. Today, the Japan vs. Italy game of the WBC was being broadcast on the TV in the store, and the regular customers here were watching the game while drinking bottled beer. About 10 minutes after ordering, the 700 yen special ramen was brought to me. Due to my profession, I try not to eat ramen too often, but I always feel like eating this ramen. When my workplace was near the main store of Daiichi Asahi near Kyoto Station, I used to go there to eat Daiichi Asahi ramen once a week before going to work. That's how much I love Daiichi Asahi's ramen. It's light yet full of umami, and the saltiness is just right, so I really love this ramen. Thank you for the delicious ramen today. On December 28, 2022, Wednesday, at 7:19 PM, I entered the restaurant. Today, I had the lunch set with extra rice at Grill Kobo, and on my way back, I stopped by Daiichi Asahi Ramen. I ordered a small ramen with extra vegetables. Daiichi Asahi Ramen used to be in Kusaba, so the familiar taste is very delicious. I only had a bowl of ramen and left the restaurant for just 600 yen, but the manager treated me very politely without a single unpleasant expression. Thank you, Jun Hamamura.

I visited the restaurant on my way home from work around a little before 9 PM, parked my car at a nearby coin parking lot, and entered the shop. I sat at a vacant counter seat and looked at the menu written on the wall. Feeling like eating a lot today, I ordered the "Char Siu Ramen" (850 yen). The bowl was topped with chopped green onions, char siu, and bean sprouts. When I tried the soup, it was a clear tonkotsu broth with a soy sauce base, but unlike the original, it had a mild and light taste with less saltiness and acidity. The noodles were medium-thin straight noodles, not the low-water noodles used in the original, but rather cooked slightly soft with a chewy texture, which also paired well with the soup. The char siu was made with traditional simmered pork, thick and flavorful, allowing me to enjoy the taste of the pork. The crunchy chopped green onions and bean sprouts also added to the deliciousness as I mixed them with the noodles. The ramen had a good amount of char siu and was cost-effective. Since the franchise of Daiichi Asahi has been expanding for some time now, many shops have been adding their own unique touches, and I felt that this shop was also one of those.

I hadn't had ramen from Daiichi Asahi in a long time, so I stopped by and had the soy sauce ramen (which I think was the special). The soup, noodles, and chashu were all delicious as always. I confirmed once again that I really love Daiichi Asahi's ramen and gyoza. It was so good that I ended up ordering the B set as well! The taste was exactly as I remembered, and I was really impressed. I didn't get to try the taro or fried rice this time, and I didn't know about the Iron Man Ramen, so I'll definitely be back to try them. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Late lunch during a business trip to Kyoto. Went to Daiichi Asahi Honten, but there was an unusually large crowd, so it seemed impossible to get in. Decided to try Daiichi Asahi Kumano-ten instead. Drove over, parked at the nearby coin parking lot, and entered the restaurant. Surprisingly, there was only one customer ahead of me. Ordered the Jumbo ramen for 850 yen and it arrived shortly. Took a sip of the soup, slurped the noodles... I see, that's why it's so empty here. The noodles were different from the main store, they were more like La-shio style noodles. Hmm... I wonder if I'll come back again.

I visited this place on a regular night. I parked my car at a nearby coin parking lot which charges 100 yen for 60 minutes, and entered the restaurant around 8:30 pm. It was pretty much empty throughout my visit. I sat at a table and ordered what I believe is the standard ramen here, the "Special" ramen. It was served quickly, in about 4 minutes. The soup had a strong meaty flavor with a hint of soy sauce, and was quite rich in pork fat. The noodles were thin and slippery, lacking a chewy texture. The thick slices of chashu were tender and tasty. Overall, the ramen had a slightly different taste compared to the typical style of Daiichi Asahi, the restaurant's name. The place was clean and had a nostalgic atmosphere, which I enjoyed. It was interesting to see the plate that indicated it was a franchise store. Thank you for the meal!

First Asahi Kumano Store @ Jingu Marutamachi During the year-end and New Year holidays, I have been working non-stop (laughs). On the 29th, most restaurants are starting their New Year holidays, but lunch refugees like me are still in luck (^_^) I ordered the La Ramen for 650 yen, with a rich flavor and plenty of vegetables. A valuable restaurant near Jingumaruta-cho that stays open late. I ordered the fried rice set for 900 yen. The ramen is light, with two slices of char siu. The noodles and soup are average, with the noodles being similar to packaged noodles with a bit of fuzz. The fried rice has small pieces of pork but is crispy and of high quality.

I haven't been to Asahi restaurant for a while, so I was planning to order a set meal, but because of the heat, I wasn't confident that I could finish it. However, I was feeling hungry, so I ended up ordering the Jumbo Char Siu Ramen (800 yen), which had a large amount of char siu on top and plenty of noodles. The bowl was also big. When I started eating, I realized I had eaten too much!

When I have time, I like to explore new lunch spots. This time, since it's getting colder, I decided to try a delicious ramen restaurant. I knew there was one near my workplace, but it was my first time visiting. I went to "Daiichi Asahi." While Kyoto may have fewer branches compared to "Tenkaippin," there are still several "Daiichi Asahi" locations around. In fact, there are 9 branches in total. Among them is "Kobe Ramen Daiichi Asahi," which originated from the main branch "Kyoto Takabashi Honke Daiichi Asahi" and has become a popular spot in Kobe. This particular restaurant operates independently after a failed chain expansion. The place I visited is known as "Tokusei Ramen Daiichi Asahi." It is located on a street just west of Kawaramachi Street. I arrived just before 1 pm and sat at the counter. I ordered the "Ramen and Yakimeshi Set." The dishes arrived shortly after. First, I tasted the soup of the ramen, which had a light soy sauce flavor, allowing you to savor the broth. The ramen here has maintained the original taste, almost like a Galapagos evolution. The noodles also had the original flavor. Next was the "yakimeshi," which I scooped up with lotus root and took a bite. Surprisingly, it had a light seasoning with pickled ginger adding a nice touch. Now, I feel like trying the ramen at the main branch.

This is a shop located in a narrow alley in front of Kyoto University Hospital. Since it was a little past 3 o'clock, there were no customers and it was empty. The special ramen with seasoned egg and back fat floating on top had a slightly sweet soup and smooth noodles. The flavored egg was deliciously marinated. It was a bit on the sweet side for me, but I didn't dislike it, I thought it was delicious.

Today's work was in Ueno district. I'm planning to watch soccer tonight, so it's a home drinking night. As a way to end the drinking, I got some ramen to go! Feeling excited! Back home now! The game is about to start, cheers! First half over! And now, during halftime, I'm preparing this dish. Today, I sprinkled shichimi for a slightly spicy taste. Let's eat! Enjoying the second half with a rich pork broth soup, slurping the firm noodles, delicious juicy chashu, refreshing spring onions, and crunchy bean sprouts. So tasty! Finished the soup completely, very satisfied today. This ramen eaten at home is the best (laughs). Another reliable bowl of ramen. Thank you for the meal.
