Sometimes you just crave that rich and flavorful ramen from Tenkaippin, it's like a delicious addiction that you can't resist. The thick soup is like a magical potion that once you have a taste, you won't be able to resist it for a while. Even though it's hard to find, when you finally locate a Tenkaippin, you rush over to satisfy your craving. I ordered the rich ramen and eagerly waited, only to receive a light ramen instead. But they quickly corrected the mistake, so no problem. The unique ramen soup is just irresistibly good, not too heavy but creamy and satisfying. I've never tried the light ramen before, but I left feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

Located at the northwest corner of the Taketa Kubocho intersection on Route 24, you will find Tenkaippin Taketa branch. It is within walking distance from the Kuihashi subway station, with the nearest bus stop being Taketa Kubocho. This is the first Tenkaippin branch to introduce the rich Tianjin rice dish. I arrived around 12:45 PM after a 10-minute wait and sat at the counter. I ordered the rich ramen (large) with firm noodles and garlic, as part of the Tianjin rice set meal. The toppings are self-serve, with options like green onions, bean sprouts, garlic chives, and sesame seeds. This time, I chose green onions and garlic chives. The rich ramen at Tenkaippin is known for its flavorful soup, and the Taketa branch maintains this reputation. The firm noodles complement the rich soup well, and the toppings of tender chashu pork, green onions, and bamboo shoots enhance the dish. Adding the garlic chives gradually enhances the flavor. The Tianjin rice is a small portion with a thick soup base, creating a delicious combination with the rice. Most customers are likely fans of the rich flavor at Tenkaippin, but it's important to note that the Tianjin rice here is quite different from traditional Chinese style. The prices for ramen at the Taketa branch are reasonable, with the option for free toppings. Additionally, there are vending machines outside offering a 600ml bottle of Sangaria oolong tea for 100 yen. Overall, I enjoyed the rich ramen and Tianjin rice at Tenkaippin.

I went to eat at the nationwide released Kotteri MAX. Since it is Kotteri MAX, the broth is thick and doesn't cool down easily, so it stayed piping hot until I finished eating. The flavor is intensified compared to regular Kotteri, but it's not too heavy and the noodles still absorb it well. It has the perfect richness and is delicious. The taste is rich and creamy without being overly chicken-flavored, so you can enjoy it without getting tired of it. The price is a bit on the higher side, so whether to order Kotteri or Kotteri MAX may depend on the situation. The Taketa store takes orders verbally instead of using tablets, and it's also one of the rare stores that offer side dishes. It's a small detail but a nice service. I also tried the Miso Ramen, which had a strong red miso flavor. The fried rice had a sweet soy sauce flavor rather than a typical Chinese seasoning, so it was just average. Overall, I still think Tenkaippin's Kotteri is the best.

From my student days, when it comes to rich and thick ramen in Kyoto, Tenka Ippin is the place to go. It has become a nationally known ramen shop with its distinctive soup that I crave from time to time. The soup is based on chicken broth and is rich and thick. Most people who visit the shop seem to order the rich and thick option. I have never tried the light option, only the rich and thick one. The soup is made with vegetables and has a deep and rich flavor of chicken that is unique to Tenka Ippin. The thick and creamy texture is addictive and pairs well with the noodles. When I visited the Tenka Ippin Takeda branch, I found out that they offer "free toppings all-you-can-eat," so I decided to visit after a long time. I added some green onions and garlic chives... The ramen in large size as a single item costs ¥1,110 (tax included), which felt quite expensive. If you were to order a set meal, the price would be outrageous. It might be difficult to afford for a regular lunch... Hmm.

Sometimes you just have a craving for something, right? Lately, I've been enjoying street food flavors, but rich flavors are also delicious! This shop has green onions, bean sprouts, leeks, and macaroni-like noodles that you can serve yourself in small dishes. I wish all stores had this! That's why I often use this shop! The female staff inside is very polite and provides great customer service!

Soup is said to be made at a central kitchen other than the main store, but it's still fun to notice slight differences at each location. The soup here has a slightly strong salty taste, but the rich chicken broth is consistently delicious. The crispy fried chicken (photos 3 and 4) is fried well on the outside and juicy on the inside. The side dishes provided are a nice service. Thank you for always treating us well. #Grateful for life.

The other day, our beloved Tenkaippin appeared on TBS's "Job Chune"! It was fun to watch, despite some tough judges. They mentioned that they have standardized their operations and menus, including flavors, across all stores. However, I feel that the richness and saltiness of the soup can vary slightly depending on the store. The Taketa store has a reliably good level of richness. They also offer a small selection of side dishes for free (see photos 5 and 6). Thank you for the delicious meal. #GratefulforLife

When I come to Kyoto, I always feel like going to Tenka and visited it after a 15-minute walk from the hotel. It's been a while, so I didn't remember how to order. I had the "yatai ramen" which is somewhere between rich and light. It's a guilty pleasure as a way to end the night after drinking, but it's still delicious. The soup is rich in just the right amount, the noodles are perfectly thin and the ending has to be like this... Thank you for the meal.

Tenkaippin Takeda store. This is a familiar ramen shop in Kyoto, Tenkaippin. The nearest station is Kuijihashi Station on the Karasuma Subway Line! Tenkaippin stores offer different set menus depending on the location, but this store is interesting because you can have options like roast beef bowl as part of a set.

The dishes I received were a set of tax-included draft beer and 10 gyoza for 990 yen, a rich ramen in medium size for 920 yen, a draft beer for 580 yen, and pork kimchi for 450 yen. This restaurant has a self-service corner with various side dishes such as bean sprout namul, chives, Kujyo negi, and shrimp senbei. The namul and chives go well with alcohol. Tenkaippin is the best for filling your stomach! 😆

For some reason, I ended up at Tenkaippin. I had some business in Kyoto and decided to have lunch around Takada or Kuinabashi Station. There was a Tenkaippin on the corner, so I visited for the first time in years. I ordered the rich ramen and fried rice set for 1200 yen. The soup was definitely rich! It was a sweet and rich flavor. The fried rice seemed a bit bland in comparison. Maybe because the ramen was so strong. You can help yourself to green onions, bean sprouts, and garlic chives. The green onions were a nice touch.

It had been a while since I visited Tenkaippin, and it was my first time at the Taketa branch. It was located near Ryudai, so there were many students. I was in the mood for something rich and hearty, but when I tried it after a long time, I felt like, "Hmm, is this how it used to be?" It was a bit disappointing. Maybe this branch prefers a less rich flavor. I tried to find the good points, and although the free toppings were appreciated, the menu and taste can vary from store to store. I ordered the fried chicken and ramen set with less rice (which doesn't affect the price), but I later found out they have a lunch set with less rice and smaller fried chicken. If the staff had mentioned that to me, I would have chosen that set instead. It was a disappointing experience at Tenkaippin after a long time.

October 1st is the day for free coupon distribution at Tenkaippin! This year, they have switched to digital distribution through an app. Probably, it's one coupon per device now. Can't do any "hashigo" anymore, haha. And wow, the prices seem to have gone up - "Kotteri Ramen" is 920 yen! "Hormone Topping" is 370 yen. It has become quite a luxurious bowl of noodles, huh. The rare "Hormone Topping" is definitely the way to go. I wish they could make it a bit cheaper by skipping the char siu. Also, it feels like the variety in the side dish corner has decreased a bit. Well, I can't complain since I'm getting free coupons. Thank you again this year, Tenkaippin!

When I suddenly remember, I crave the rich ramen from Tenka Ippin. Perhaps it's a Kyoto thing? This particular shop has a service counter, which I personally appreciate. They offer toppings like corn, bean sprouts, and garlic chips for free at the service counter. However, it's worth noting that the price of the ramen itself is relatively high compared to other Tenka Ippin shops nearby. I ordered the rich ramen (regular) this time. The richness can vary between shops, but this one had a nice balance and was delicious.

I felt a little hungry, so I went to the restaurant alone around 3:30 pm. There were 4-5 customers already there. I ordered the rich ramen for 920 yen with firm noodles. When I ordered, the staff quickly said, "The toppings are over there, please wear a mask when you go to get them." I didn't really pay attention to what they said and just ignored it. When I got home, I found out that there were toppings like green onions and garlic that I missed. I should have asked, but I wish the explanation was a bit clearer. The ramen was served in just 2-3 minutes, which was surprisingly fast! Now, onto the taste. The soup was very rich and thick, which is a signature of this place. Personally, I like the richness, but the flavor could be a bit lighter. The chashu was disappointing as there was only one thin slice. For 920 yen, it felt a bit overpriced. When I paid, I found out that the prices had been increased from June 1st, which didn't seem like a good value for money. Overall, it was okay. Thank you for the meal.

During a break in university, my friends and I decided to search for ramen. We realized that even though it's nearby, we hadn't been to this particular shop before. We ended up going to this place that serves an extremely rich ramen, limited to 5 servings a day. We all decided to try it. Despite the name suggesting it would be very heavy, it wasn't as intense as we expected. Maybe we've gotten used to the rich ramen from another shop? It was basically a thick and rich version of the usual rich ramen. Thank you for the meal!

I passed by this place because the parking lot was full, but when I looked at Ten-ichi while waiting at the intersection, I noticed that the parking lot was empty! So I sneaked in and was seated at the counter. I personally ordered the basic street food taste of Ten-ichi for 850 yen! The lunch set with a daily bowl for 950 yen is a good deal, but I was feeling a bit hungover so I just ordered the ramen! When I placed my order, they brought me garlic chives, bean paste, bean sprout namul, and kujo green onions from the service counter (side dish corner). Just as I finished getting my side dishes, the ramen was served at the perfect timing! The street food ramen at Ten-ichi is a perfect balance between rich and light flavors. I used the side dishes as toppings and enjoyed my meal. Personally, the garlic chives are a must-have! Delicious! When I left, the restaurant was still full, with about four people waiting. As always, it's a popular spot. I noticed that Ten-ichi and Osho have "limited to certain stores" lunch sets or meals, but I feel like most of the stores actually have them. (laughs) Thank you for the meal!

In Kyoto, the ramen shop with the most nationwide presence is Tenkaippin, with 231 stores as of May 23rd. Following closely is Rairaitei with 209 stores. Although not a ramen shop, Osho is truly impressive with 731 stores. Tenkaippin has achieved commercial success, and what's amazing is that the taste is consistent at every store. I recently visited the main store, so this time I had lunch at the Takada store, which is familiar to me. I ordered the recommended Mapo Hormone Don set meal for 1,300 yen. Of course, the ramen was rich and thick. Due to rising raw material costs and a weak yen, ramen prices have also increased. At this store, you can enjoy unlimited bean sprouts, leeks, and green onions, which is a nice touch. The Mapo Hormone Don on the hot plate has a crispy texture, and the spicy Mapo and hormone flavors are delicious. The rich ramen is thick and the noodles are perfectly coated. I was satisfied with the double richness of ramen and Mapo Hormone Don. Ramen prices have certainly gone up. Kyoto's long-established ramen comparison: 1. Ramen Fuji, Otemichi Store 2. Shinpuku Sakana, Kuyama Store 3. Chin Yu, Otemichi Store 4. Daiki 5. Hosokawa, Main Store 6. Special Ramen Oonaka 7. Tentei Yu, Hirumaya 8. Higashi Higashi 9. Manpuku, Shimotoriya Store 10. Shigechan Ramen 11. Banraiya 12. Tenkaippin, Takada Store

Visited the store at 9:45 am. I was number one in line and waited until the store opened at 11 am. Many people came for the extra rich ramen, and by opening time, the first five servings were already sold out. I ordered the extra rich ramen and it was served in about 5 minutes. It looked like a regular size bowl. For men, it might be a bit small. The taste was like a mix of "regular rich" and "stubborn noodles". With minced onions in it, it might feel lighter if you expect it to be like "Kyokuto". However, the taste was consistently delicious! Thank you for the meal.

I visited here this time. It's a weekday afternoon, but it's crowded as expected. It's been a while since I last visited, and there were a lot of changes, especially in the lunch menu. Today, I chose the lunch menu for ¥950. The weekly special rice bowl is Chicken Tataki Don, and for ramen, I chose the thick noodles, of course! While waiting, I went to get the condiments near the entrance. They even have extra green onions, which is great! Here it comes - first, I took a sip of the soup... Mmm, delicious! This is truly the best! The rice bowl was also delicious. I finished it in no time. Thank you for the meal. Next time, I want to try the hormone dishes.
