During my trip to Kyoto, I had breakfast at the hotel (June 2020 information). Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there was no buffet. I could only choose omelette for egg dishes, which was disappointing. I was given 3 pieces of bread, but I couldn't choose the type, so having sweet bread in the morning was not ideal. It would have been better if there were more options to choose from. The taste was good and overall I was satisfied.

Thank you for staying at Kyoto New Hankyu Hotel. When you walk right on Route 115 in front of the hotel and turn once, you will find my favorite ramen restaurant, "Daiichi Asahi Honten." I usually have breakfast there, but this time I had it here. The buffet was canceled, so I had the "Okimari" breakfast, which was very satisfying. The joy of looking at the beautiful presentation, the perfect amount of food and fruits, and the attentive staff who kept refilling the juice and drinks. The hotel front desk staff's meticulous service and free upgrade. That's all I can say, but in the midst of a decrease in overseas tourists and a reliance on domestic visitors, the breakfast and service that convey the message "We will do our best" are truly appreciated. I will not forget it. Thank you very much. I will visit again.

Due to the novel coronavirus, the buffet was canceled. I had a Western food set for the first time. It includes a sandwich, hot sandwich, pasta (oil, tomato, cream, meat - choose one), salad, drink, and soup. The cream pasta had rape blossoms, shimeji mushrooms, and bacon, with less cheese as I requested. Thank you! The smooth and very gentle cream was much appreciated after my health check-up. The slightly firm pasta was delicious until the last bite. The meat in the curry was tender! As expected from a hotel meal! I love the buffet here, so I plan to come back once this situation settles down. Thank you for the meal.

I stayed at Kyoto Shin-Hankyu Hotel for 2 nights and 3 days and had breakfast and lunch there. For breakfast, I chose the Japanese set meal at Mino Yoshiki, which was delicious and beautifully presented. The dishes were all high quality and I couldn't finish everything because it was so good. I definitely want to come back for dinner before I leave. For lunch, I went to the buffet restaurant "Boulevard" where I could choose from a wide variety of dishes, including a dessert corner. It was a great system where you could eat as much as you wanted, but as I was dining alone, it felt a bit crowded when the restaurant got busy.

We went to Kyoto for my husband's interview at Kyoto University. We stayed at Shin Hankyu Hotel and had breakfast at their buffet. They had a variety of dishes including scrambled eggs, sausages, grilled salmon, and simmered vegetables. They also made omelettes to order. We sat at a table for four even though there were only two of us. The staff was a bit scarce and didn't clear our plates promptly. The hotel is conveniently located near Kyoto Station, making it easy to access from the underground shopping area. Great location!

I had a traditional Japanese breakfast with rice porridge at Minoyoshi in Kyoto, at the New Hankyu Hotel.

Company Trip on July 27, 1997:

It's the peak season for autumn leaves, so the price is higher, but during the off-season, it should be more reasonable. The hotel's biggest selling point is its excellent location right in front of Kyoto Station's Karasuma entrance. It's convenient for tired bodies. The room has a calm atmosphere, but it would be nice if they had pajamas in more sizes. The one size they offer is a bit small. For breakfast, you can choose between a buffet and a traditional Japanese meal. I enjoyed the grilled salmon and other Japanese dishes. Because of its great location, I would like to stay here again.

Room service at Kyoto New Hankyu Hotel is available from 14:30 to 21:00. The menu is not extensive, consisting of light snacks and drinks. Options include salad, sandwiches, curry, pasta, soba, and various drinks. The drinks available are limited to small and medium bottles of beer, and wine served by the glass only. I ordered smoked salmon and potato fries as a snack with my wine, which tasted decent. Upon checking out, I noticed that the food was actually delivered from the hotel's first-floor restaurant, Boulevard.

A little away from Kyoto Station, along Shio-koji Street in front of Kyoto Tower. Stayed in a twin room with my wife. Since it was room only, no rating for taste and drinks. The hotel was clean and well-maintained thanks to its affiliated company. Recently, I have been exploring restaurants near the station using Tabelog, but today I was too tired. In the morning, I visited the Kyoto Racecourse and paid my respects at the monument where the black mane of the legendary racehorse Rice Shower, who bloomed and scattered in Yodo, is enshrined. The monument was small, fitting for the petite Rice Shower. I will never forget the Takarazuka Kinen on June 4, 1995. I also hope to visit the grave at the Utopia Farm in Noboribetsu someday. As a side note, for dinner, I enjoyed some yuba dishes near the station.

This time was my first visit, right across from Kyoto Station, across the rotary. To be precise, it's right across from Isetan. I stayed without meals, on the 11th floor facing the rotary, with Isetan in front and the dignified Kyoto Central Post Office to the right. Being this close, you can faintly hear the noise of cars at night, but when you look down, the buses look like perfectly sized toys. What I liked this time was the raised tatami area by the window where a desk is placed, allowing you to relax and enjoy takeout cake or coffee. I really liked that.

I had a perception that hotel breakfasts aren't that delicious, but the one here was really good! I prefer Western food over Japanese, so I chose the Western option and it was very tasty. The bacon was thick and perfectly seasoned! The omelette was also creamy and delicious. There was a self-serve drink station with a variety of options. I could also have seconds of bread, so I got another pain au chocolat and croissant.
