I used the bar inside Kyoto Century Hotel for the last drink in Kyoto. The atmosphere is luxurious like a hotel bar, and you can spend a sophisticated and elegant time. They use good quality glasses. I had a gin and tonic, Paul Giraud 25 years, and a White Lady with added yuzu for my companion. We also ordered cheese and dried fruits for food. You can choose the brand of gin for the gin and tonic, but they only have well-known brands, so I chose Tanqueray this time. The taste was stronger than other bars I usually go to, but it was the type of gin and tonic I like. Paul Giraud, being aged 25 years, was very smooth and delicious, and the White Lady was also of high quality. My companion enjoyed the yuzu-scented Mojito, but found it a bit strong. The food portion was surprisingly large, but other than that, it was average.

I visited a bar located on the 2nd floor of the Kyoto Century Hotel during my trip related to Kyoto railways. It was around 9:50 pm on a weekday. The entrance had a menu board outside. Inside, the atmosphere was classy with dim lighting. There were various seating options including tables, sofas, and a counter. The staff, mostly male, were polite and there were about 7-8 other groups of customers when I visited. The majority were middle-aged couples or groups of 2-4 people. Some customers were a bit loud and tipsy. The bar offered a variety of cocktails at slightly high prices, but considering the location and ambiance, it was reasonable. I ordered the "Seasonal Fruit Mojito - Apple and Strawberry (with alcohol) for 1,900 yen" while my companion had the "Kyoto Gin Highball - Yuzu for 1,800 yen" (both recommended cocktails; tax included). There was a table charge of 500 yen per person (tax included) which included rice crackers and dried fruits as a charm. The drinks arrived in about 15 minutes. The Seasonal Fruit Mojito was served in a tall glass with two straws, a stirrer, and a long spoon. It was filled with the drink and had apple and strawberry slices at the bottom, topped with apple slices and mint leaves. The Mojito had a refreshing sweetness with a mild mint flavor. It was delicious on its own or when the fruits were mashed to enhance the flavor. The soaked fruits were also tasty. The Kyoto Gin Highball with Yuzu had yuzu peel and nanten leaves as garnish. The yuzu flavor was pleasant. Overall, we enjoyed the cocktails with lots of fresh fruits. It was a great experience to have drinks at the hotel bar while staying there.

This is a bar located on the 2nd floor of the Kyoto Century Hotel. The atmosphere inside is chic. I decided to order a bottle of whiskey for 18,000 yen because it seemed like it would be cheaper that way. I enjoyed it on the rocks with a clear round ice cube.

I feel very relaxed at the bar in front of the station, and I want to come back again. I want to drink fruit champagne and Martell as usual, and enjoy chocolate with alcohol. The taste is different from Gion, which is enjoyable. Even the same alcohol at home tastes different, it's really delicious when made by a bartender. There are many bars in front of Kyoto Station, so I want to visit them again!

Table charge is 414 yen per person (including 500 yen consumption tax and 10% service charge), but for women and on Sundays to Thursdays, it's only 2,100 yen per person! They offer 100 types of drinks for 120 minutes, as well as "Champagne Pommery" for 90 minutes at 3,600 yen for all-you-can-drink. Once you open the door to this bar with a luxurious atmosphere, you can surprisingly enjoy a relaxed and reasonably priced experience. It was nice that it was not crowded as it was the beginning of the week. They were also diligently practicing disinfection and wearing masks.

Visiting with a friend. Happy hour from 17:00 to 19:00 means half price, which is wallet-friendly! The facilities are glamorous and have a sense of luxury, with atmospheric waiters and countless bottles illuminated by indirect lighting, making it feel like stepping into a movie world. The first drink was the usual Sky Diving. I love the faint stimulation piercing through the nostrils, followed by the evaporation towards the head. Good alcohol can make you feel good without getting drunk.

I made a reservation and it was not crowded. The atmosphere was stylish but a bit dark and closed off without windows. The drinks and food came out quickly. We ordered a variety of items, but the pork cutlet sandwich was the most delicious.

In the past (almost 10 years ago), I would have given it 5 stars. Since being acquired by Keihan, I feel like the quality has decreased. I still go there once or twice a year though.

I visited the special weekend buffet at the Kyoto Century Hotel in February 2012. It was a dessert buffet with a variety of cakes, pastas, and sandwiches. Upon arrival, I had to wait a few minutes for the buffet to be set up. The desserts were delicious, with highlights including a white chocolate and raspberry mousse, Mont Blanc, shortcake, and éclair. The mousse desserts were rich and creamy, while the tiramisu had a strong coffee flavor. Overall, the quality of the desserts was high and satisfying. The buffet also offered savory options like lasagna and pasta. The restaurant was not too crowded, and the replenishment of food was timely. One downside was the lack of water service.

I visited the bar after having a meal with a friend. We were looking for a place near the station as we had to catch the train back home. The bar had a different atmosphere compared to the usual quiet and slightly run-down places we usually go to. There were quite a few business-looking people, giving it a sophisticated vibe which I really liked. I had a glass of Laphroaig. The price per glass was a bit high, but there was no cover charge, so if you're only planning to have one or two drinks, it's actually quite reasonable considering the location and atmosphere.

Compared to the area around Osaka Station, the vicinity of Kyoto Station can be described as a barren land for bars. Authentic bars are practically non-existent here. However, when you're in the area after a party or gathering, you might still feel like having one more drink. In such situations, hotel bars become a reliable option, especially for middle-aged and older individuals. The two standout bars near Kyoto Station are "Orbit" at Granvia Hotel and "Essex" at Century Hotel. These bars have a sophisticated and elegant interior, attracting a decent crowd, often consisting of business travelers. The seasonal original cocktails are visually appealing and the classic cocktails like G&T, Gimlet, and Martini are consistently good. The service and hospitality are top-notch, reflecting the hotel's standards. However, the atmosphere may not be very welcoming for younger people, given the predominantly middle-aged clientele. The prices for shots are reasonable, typical of hotel bars. Overall, it's a classy establishment for adults. The only downside is the closing time at midnight, which may leave you wanting more.

I visited this place again because I had a good experience when I went last February. However, I was surprised to find that the variety of desserts offered has decreased since my last visit. There used to be not only desserts but also pasta and sandwiches, but now they only offer desserts and drinks. There were only 14 types of desserts available, including sheet cakes, glass desserts, and whole cakes, and none of them were particularly exciting. The desserts tasted good, but for the price of 1800 yen, it was not worth it to go just for that. The drinks available were coffee, tea, orange juice, and apple juice, which you had to order separately. It seems that this dessert buffet is also used by customers who have dined at the teppanyaki restaurant Bonheur in the hotel.

The other day, I visited the restaurant after watching a performance by the Takarazuka Revue. It's a sophisticated adult space that is very calming. The menu clearly lists the prices, so you can drink with peace of mind. The variety of alcohol is moderately rich. The reason I held back on giving a rating this time was because I was bothered by a drunken old man, which prevented me from enjoying myself. After reading reviews from other reviewers, I thought it would be safe for a woman to visit alone here, but it seems I was unlucky. However, when the old man finally left, one of the staff quietly approached me and asked, "If you were bothered by someone, would you like us to prepare a different seat for you?" I was touched by this gesture!!! I have been bothered by people in various places before, but this kind of consideration is a first for me. I refrained from giving a rating, but there is no doubt that this is a wonderful restaurant, so I will definitely come back for a rematch when I have the chance! Thank you to the staff for your consideration☆

The Kyoto Century Hotel has a spacious lobby on the 2nd floor where this bar is located. The atmosphere inside the bar is cozy, with a low ceiling and rich wood decor. The selection of drinks is not extensive, but the cocktails are well made. The bartenders are friendly and attentive. While the nearby Granvia Hotel's main bar, "Orbit," is also excellent, the atmosphere here is different, making it a good option for a change of pace. Prices are a bit high, but considering the location and ambiance, it's understandable. Overall, both bars are great options for a nice night out.
