I got hooked on shabu-shabu with dashi broth, so I came to this restaurant! The atmosphere, service, and cost performance were all great, and I definitely want to go back again. Don't forget to shout when you add soy milk to the pot! - Hotaruika (firefly squid) marinated in vinegar, came with Japanese sake soda! - Anchovy potato fries - Changja (Korean spicy stir-fried squid) - Aged shabu-shabu hot pot - Finishing with Chinese noodles (chicken oil)

Shabu-shabu with soup made from extracting dashi with the jaw. Both the pork and the Omi beef were delicious! The Baumkuchen pork is hard to come by these days, but I was able to eat it this time. It was wonderfully sweet and juicy when I chewed on it. Every dish was delicious! Especially recommended are the sesame tofu and simmered eggplant. The staff were friendly and we were able to enjoy conversations with them from time to time. And the Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Hibiki highballs at this price, is it for real? The overall cost performance of the drinks was good, and we were able to drink a lot! I will definitely come back when I visit Kyoto again!! I regret not taking any photos because I was so focused on eating.

On a snowy day, I felt like eating something warm so I made a reservation over the phone and visited the restaurant. The hot pot had a flavor of dashi made from fish. I was a bit surprised when they added soy milk after lifting the fish, but the taste of soy milk wasn't overpowering. I chose a course with both beef and pork, and they were both tender and delicious! The refillable green onions dipped in sauce were so good that I couldn't stop eating them. I also tried the Baumkuchen pork. It was sweet and tasty, but a bit tough, maybe because it was thick, so I preferred the meat from the original course. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, the food was delicious, and I think it was good value for the price. I arrived a bit earlier than my reservation time, but they quickly prepared a table for me, and their service was polite and smooth, which made me happy. I would like to visit again.

I attended a year-end party at this restaurant. There were 5 of us, so we had a private room. The atmosphere was nice and cozy. The main dish was agodashi shabu-shabu, prepared with flying fish broth in a pot. We added soy milk and it was ready to eat! The staff showed us how to make delicious shabu-shabu. They advised us not to cook the meat too long to avoid releasing any bitterness. The vegetables only needed to be cooked for about 2 minutes. We enjoyed sharing a large amount of green onions and yuzu pepper. The meat selection was impressive, with a variety to choose from. The service was a bit slow for drinks, but that's to be expected in a restaurant with such a nice atmosphere. Overall, the food was delicious and enjoyable.

The moment you put it in your mouth, the meat melts. It was definitely worth more than the price. The Baumkuchen pork that I was curious about was sweet and delicious. You can tell it was raised with care just by tasting it. Thank you for the meal. The food was really delicious, but... I sat at the counter and could see the staff well, and I couldn't help but think that maybe the staff don't get along well with each other. There is a tough-looking lady... I think customers often notice those things, so I hope they handle it out of sight.

I visited this restaurant where you can enjoy shabu-shabu alone at the counter and also have all-you-can-drink option. The staff, including employees and experienced university student part-timers, were busy but managed everything efficiently. They were polite and attentive despite the busyness. It was heartwarming to see a French customer struggling a bit with the English explanation. I added tomatoes and firefly squid to my course. The firefly squid in seasoned soy sauce with soda and sake was a new and interesting experience. The two types of pork had a nice sweetness and paired well with the vegetables soaked in broth. The whole wheat noodles for the finale were incredibly delicious.

Even without a hot pot, the deliciousness and the pleasant service were exceptional. While everyone was ordering shabu-shabu, I decided to try a variety of dishes without the hot pot, and the staff warmly accommodated my request. The seasonal items, such as firefly squid, sea bream sashimi, rapeseed blossom tempura, smelt tempura, horse meat tartare, and the meticulously poured beer with delicious foam, were all delightful. The fried potatoes were also incredibly tasty. Although I was already full, I couldn't resist trying the seared Omi beef nigiri, which was cooked right in front of me. I enjoyed it so much. I also had a refreshing highball with Hakushu whiskey. It was a satisfying experience. Next time, I might choose to order shabu-shabu, but the other dishes were so delicious that I highly recommend trying them as well.

After a long time, I made a reservation and visited "Agotsuyu Shabu Shabu Yamafuku" with two friends. We ordered the original Agotsuyu Baumkuchen Pork Shabu Set for 1680 yen, Baumkuchen Pork Loin for 1000 yen, Moon-viewing grated yam for 550 yen, sesame tofu for 350 yen, addictive cucumber for 350 yen, boiled firefly squid and nanohana with miso dressing for 500 yen, assorted horse sashimi for 1580 yen, fried potatoes with anchovy butter for 580 yen, tempura of fragrant nanohana for 450 yen, and a medium-sized draft beer for 550 yen. We also had a hot serving of Takasago Junmai Karakuchi (Shizuoka) for 650 yen. As always, the Baumkuchen-flavored pork here is delicious. One great thing about this place is that there are no flaws in the side dishes either. The sesame tofu and addictive cucumber were also excellent. The moon-viewing grated yam for the finale was also delicious.

The staff at this restaurant are cheerful and fun! They serve a delicious Baumkuchen pork hot pot with a dipping sauce made from dashi broth and soy milk, topped with plenty of green onions. It's packed with vegetables and you can eat a lot. The noodles at the end are chewy and everything is great. I definitely want to go back to this restaurant.

Shabu-shabu with plenty of green onions and dashi broth. The pot contains flying fish and the staff adds soy milk to create a soy milk hot pot-like sensation. The meat is a luxurious pork raised by eating the famous Club Harie feed. Dip it in plenty of green onions and agodashi broth. Pork raised on delicious food is definitely tasty. I always order additional ingredients like nama-fu. Recommended. The side dishes are average. One thing that caught my attention was that the fried food oil seemed off, maybe just that day. I have visited several times, but the fried food is a bit (^^;) The sesame tofu is delicious, so I always order it. The main hot pot is definitely delicious, so ⭐︎ There are course meals and a la carte options, and the prices are reasonable and convenient to use.

After a long time, I made a same-day reservation and visited "Agotsuyu Shabu Shabu Yamafuku." I ordered the original Agotsuyu Baumkuchen Pork Shabu Shabu set for 1680 yen, Baumkuchen pork loin for 1000 yen, Tsukimi Tororo for 550 yen, sesame tofu for 350 yen, addictive cucumber for 300 yen, and a draft beer for 550 yen. I also had a hot sake of Takasago Junmai Karakuchi (Shizuoka) for 650 yen per serving. The option I usually order, extra meat for 500 yen, was no longer on the menu, as it seems not many people ordered it. Instead, I ordered the Baumkuchen pork loin. It might even be tastier than the meat in the pork shabu set. The Baumkuchen-flavored pork was delicious. One of the good things about this place is that there are no flaws in the side menu either. The sesame tofu, addictive cucumber, and Tsukimi Tororo were all excellent. The service was polite and energetic, and I had a very enjoyable time. I will definitely come back again.

Located in the lower part of Samboku-cho, just east of Nikunabe Chiba, is this charming restaurant. I visited based on a recommendation from a friend who is a regular customer. The popular ingredient lately is "ago" (flying fish in Kyushu dialect) sourced from Hirado, Nagasaki Prefecture. The pork used is a special brand that was raised eating Baumkuchen from Club Harie. The spinach is grown hydroponically, showing a dedication to quality ingredients. The staff prepared the ago broth at the perfect temperature of 90 degrees, then added soy milk before adding the meat and vegetables. The broth is served with plenty of fresh leeks, without any spiciness or unpleasant smell. The sweet and tender Baumkuchen pork and ago broth create a delicious combination. To finish off the meal, we had whole wheat Chinese noodles. I asked the staff if we could finish it all, and they recommended ordering half the usual portion per person. I chose the chopped shiso sesame (with pickled plum) dipping sauce. The coarse-ground whole wheat noodles were delicious and the pickled plum added a refreshing touch. In the end, we finished everything. The staff here is full of energy and their service makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. I will definitely be coming back again!

I was taken to a famous shabu-shabu restaurant by an acquaintance! We had made a reservation, but there was a mix-up and we had to wait for 10-15 minutes before being seated. The seats were in a beautiful tatami room with backrests, which was worth the wait! Our server was very friendly and provided detailed explanations, showing that the staff were well-trained. We ordered smoked mackerel, shabu-shabu, and fried fish. The smoked mackerel went surprisingly well with beer, and we couldn't stop eating it! The shabu-shabu had just the right amount of fat, and paired perfectly with rice and beer. Above all, the service was excellent and left a lasting impression. I will definitely visit this restaurant again when I go to Kyoto!

After a long time, I made a reservation and visited "Agotsuyu Shabu Shabu Yamafuku" restaurant. I ordered the original Agotsuyu Baumkuchen pork shabu set for 1680 yen, with extra meat for 550 yen. I also had the moon-view grated yam for 550 yen, sesame tofu for 350 yen, addictive cucumbers for 300 yen, and premium firefly squid marinated in seawater for 680 yen. I enjoyed a draft beer for 550 yen and a hot sake (Junmai Karakuchi from Shizuoka) for 650 yen. I tried the flying fish broth for the first time, which didn't have a strong flavor but was still quite delicious. The sweet Baumkuchen pork shabu was wholesome, and it's important not to overcook the meat to retain its flavor. The sesame tofu here is exceptional and must be savored. The firefly squid marinated in seawater paired well with sparkling sake, eliminating any unpleasant aftertaste. The moon-view grated yam for the finish was also delicious. The service was polite and energetic, and I had a great time. I will definitely be back.

I had heard that this place was delicious, so I decided to try it for the first time! I ordered pork and beef for the hot pot, but the food took a really long time to come out... I was worried they had forgotten about it because even the drinks and rice were slow to arrive... The restaurant seemed empty, but apparently they were short-staffed... The staff's service was confusing and I don't think I'll be going back... The male part-time worker seemed inexperienced but he tried his best and it was quite refreshing!笑

We used this restaurant for dinner during our family trip to Kyoto. The street where the restaurant is located is like a busy downtown area, similar to Shinjuku's Kabukicho. I chose it because it was child-friendly, but I felt a bit anxious as it didn't seem like a typical family place. The atmosphere was solemn from the entrance. The seating was in a large tatami room divided by partitions, but the neighboring tables felt close. There were many foreigners! The shabu-shabu was delicious! Both the meat and the broth were tasty. I added soy milk, but the soy milk flavor was not very strong. It was smooth yet refreshing. The staff were all young but very polite. Since we were seated in a tatami room, it was clear that children were allowed, but we had to ask for children's dishes and forks.

I went by car on Christmas Day, but all the nearby parking lots were full so I had to park far away and walk, which made me over an hour late. I underestimated how busy the city would be on Christmas. Despite being late, the young male staff members provided excellent service, which I appreciate. The taste of the food was perfect as always. This is a restaurant I would love to visit again and again.

I made a reservation for a tatami room on the Saturday just before the state of emergency started. I arrived right on time. At the entrance, they were doing temperature checks and disinfecting thoroughly. I took off my shoes in the lovely old house entrance as seen online, but then I was led to a counter seat instead. The person in charge didn't provide any explanation and just said, "Here you go." I mentioned that I had reserved a tatami room, but they said, "We can only open this area today." I was disappointed but decided to go along with it. However, the view from the counter was distracting and I couldn't focus on my meal. The explanation of the shabu-shabu course started with the jaw broth and was thorough until the end. Adding soy milk was strange to me, and when I added it for flavor adjustment at the end, it still felt odd. If they want to focus on the jaw broth, they should put more effort into it. In the Kanto region, dashi shabu-shabu often uses bonito broth, which has a more delicate and refined taste. The vegetables, instead of Kyoto vegetables, were not fresh, with enoki mushrooms turning brown. The drink service was fast, and the staff's smiles were nice. The counter is crucial, and the shochu bottle acting as a blindfold was being hit by the steam from the shabu pot, which could bother some people. The white wine in the all-you-can-drink option was not good. Customers who came in without a reservation after us were quickly seated in the tatami room, which was surprising. I felt that they should make improvements from the customer's perspective.

The atmosphere at this traditional Kyoto townhouse shop is quite nice. The Baumkuchen pork belly, raised on Baumkuchen, and the shabu-shabu with pork chin dashi are exquisite! There are many autographs, and it seems that celebrities often visit. It has been featured on TV before and offers online shopping as well! There are private rooms available, making it a great option for a date night!
